Remove CS4MC before installing CS5MC?
I'm preparing to install CS5 Master Collection that I purchased as an upgrade from CS4MC. Installed the trial version (there were a couple bugs on installation) and have since removed it. But, I did notice during the installation of the trial version, it doesn't install "over" the CS4 version. I don't know if this is unique to the trial version. So, when I install the full version, will it install over CS4? If not, should I remove CS4 from my machine prior to CS5 installation? Do I remove it after CS5 installation? I don't want to have two versions on my drive, but I don't want to mistakenly remove any CS4 resources that are needed for CS5 installation and functionality. I also noticed the "cleaner" application. If you're going to recommend I use that, do I use it before or after CS5 installation? Thanks in advance for any advice. I just want to be sure I have the cleanest installation possible.
My advice..do not remove CS4.
There's simply no good reason to do so. Some applications, notably InDesign do not have wonderful backward compatibility and if you need to work with someone still on CS4 it would be beneficial to have the apps installed.

I have been using final cut express for years and now want to switch to final cut studio 3. do I have to remove final cut express before installing final cut studio 3 or can I have them both installed at the same time on one computer?You can have them both on the same computer as I and many others have done for years.
Just go ahead and install FCS 3 normally.

That is precisely the WRONG thing to do. You should never delete, but uninstall.
Now you need to look for, download and run the Adobe CS Cleaner tool. -

No. When you install FCP, it will move the FCS applications into a folder called Final Cut Studio.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

Should I remove Logic 8 before installing Logic 9
Hi guys, I just purchases Logic Studio (Logic 9) and I am ready to upgrade from Logic 8. Now I want to be sure I don't get duplicate files. Is it safe to install Logic 9 without removing 8, or would it be better to remove Logic Studio 8 and all of the content before installing 9?
If so, what is the best way to remove Logic 8?

Installing Logic Studio 9 won't create duplicates,you can leave Logic Pro 8 on your system.

This iphone can not be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes
I keep getting the above error everytime I plug in my iphone.
I am not daft, I do have the 64bit version of iTunes installed already. When I installed itunes 10.5 and more recently 10.5.1 I got an error message that rolls back a section of the installation (The updater I think) before finishing off installing iTunes.
After the installation iTunes will work normally apart from when I try to connect a device. At which point I get the title error message and I can not sync my phone.
It's probably down to Itunes not installing properly however no matter what I try I can not sort the problem out. I've tried uninstalling all apple programmes followed by a registry clean, then reinstall. I've tried the same again but in a specific order. I've tried repairing iTunes, repairing the updater etc etc. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas.
Has anybody had this problem? Please can somebody tell me how to fix it!

Yeah, let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunes64Setup.exe installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunes64Setup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunes64Setup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunes64Setup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?

Hi,
Before installing iLife 11, my photo stream synced to the (Finder)Pictures- Photo Stream - which I very much liked.
Now I have installed iLife 11, iPhoto has taken over and the photos syncthere, not in the original Photo Stream folder.
Is there any way for me to revert syncing to the pictures folder ratherthan with iPhoto?
2 reasons why:
1 - I have to copy the photos out of iPhoto which is annoying, there’sno point in having a auto sync if I have to copy out of iPhoto, I might aswell becopying off my phone.
2 - photos only sync when iPhoto is open so I have to wait for them todownload whereas before they synced as I took them and when I got in, they were'just there' and now I have to wait.
If anyone can suggest a solution for me that would be great, I don’twant to remove iPhoto from my system so that’s not an option.
If there isn’t a solution, what’s Apple playing at? Surely this isfrustrating for users other than me?

I have a problem with connecting my iPhone to iTunes. I uninstalled one of the computer program and restart my laptop. After restart my laptop and a message said that iTunes might not working because one of the component is missing and request to reinstall the iTunes. Hence I remove iTunes from my laptop and I reinstall iTunes to my laptop but still not working.
Before this the iTunes will automatically launch when I plug in my iPhone. But after I reinstall iTunes, it's not working. I have an academic version of Final Cut Studio on my laptop and recently purchased the most recent Full version of Final Cut Studio. Do I need to uninstall the academic version before installing the new version? I ask because this is not an upgrade, but a completely new version.

Once that's done, install your newly purchased version.
