    Hi, I have a problem to get the first letter of the string.  I need to compare first letter first and then change the rest of string to number as unit cost for calculation.  For example, I have string K100, C200,...     if first letter = K then 0 else if first letter = C then tonumber200..... I use CRXI, any assistance will be appreciate.jmmj

    It works, thanks Kai!But when I tried to print the report, there are multiple lines shown same invoice number but different unit price. My formular is: IF {OEINPR3.COINTYPE} = 2 OR CCur({OEINPR3.LINETYPE}) = 1  //line type 1 for item,  2 for misc. charge THEN(    IF {OEINPR3.COIN}[1] = "K" OR {OEINPR3.COIN}[1] = "N"  THEN        TONUMBER(MID({OEINPR3.COIN},2,20))    ELSE 0)ELSE      2 //for testing only The result I have: Line#    Inv#    unitprice    total1          IN001    0.00     10.00            IN001   10.00     10.00  2          IN002    0.00     20.00             IN002    20.00     20.00.......The second line of each invoice is correct. How can I print just one line for each invoice which is correct? Thanks!jmmj

  • First letter in the string

    Hi,
    I have a string "International Business Machine", but I want to refer as IBM (not as International Business Machine), So how do I get this value from my string. Is there any standard procedure/function available..
    I want OCP from the strin 'Oracle Certified Professional'
    Thanks,
    Gladson

    Hello,
    If you happen to be on Oracle 10g you could use regular expressions. This extracts all capital letters regardless of location:
    SELECT REGEXP_REPLACE('Oracle Certified Professional', '[^A-Z]') from dual
    --> OCP
    If you are pre-10g there are a bunch of ways to do this, I quite like this approach:
    SELECT REPLACE(TRANSLATE('Oracle Certified Professional', LOWER('Oracle Certified Professional'), 'x'), 'x') from dual;
    --> OCP
    If your goal is to extract initial letters regardless of case you could use INITCAP around your source string.
    The real answer depends on what your specification is but this should at least get you thinking about it.
    Good Luck.

  • LDAP Addressbook search - match first letter only

    According to the SPA500 Admin Guide, a LDAP query will search on every letter:
    "This searches for the text string anywhere in the beginning, middle, or at the end of a name."
    Would it be possible to search only on the first letter of a name?
    Erik

    Eric, I don't know if you ever solved this request.
    In the search syntax you will see the "$VALUE" criteria bounded by two "*". These serve as wildcard matches. If you simply delete the first "*" before $VALUE your match will start at the beginning. Likewise if you remove the second "*" instead the search will try to match at the end. If you remove both it will look for an exact match.

    The new but not-ready-for-prime-time autocomplete method searches for matches that contain the entered text, not just ones that begin with the string. Your options are:
    1) type in longer strings that narrow the search
    2) use an add-on to search just the beginnings:

    3) install an older version of TB:

    The Mail app on the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch does have an option to clear previous recipients. You can learn to live with it.  But if you want to get rid of it, the only way to remove these cached email addresses from the Mail application is restoring the iPhone/iPod Touch as a new phone/iPod.  If you restore from backup, the cache is also restored.
    This article shows you the screens you will see during the restore:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • First letter navigation no longer working with Java 6

    Hello,
    I just noticed that the first letter navigation stopped working for a JOptionPane and a JComboBox (as Table-CellEditor) I'm using.
    Have a look at the following code:
    JOptionPane selectionPane;
    selectionPane = new JOptionPane( message, JOptionPane.PLAIN_MESSAGE );
    selectionPane.setOptions( new String[] { "Ok", "Ignore", "Cancel" } );
    selectionPane.setSelectionValues( selections ); // selections is of type Object[]
    JDialog dialog = selectionPane.createDialog( this, title );
    dialog.setVisible( true );This creates an OptionPane with a JList. With the Java 5 runtime, the first letter navigation is perfectly working, but it's broken with the Java 6 runtime.
    I can reproduce this behaviour on a Linux and a Windows 2000 system. It also seems not to be a focus issue, since the JList is properly focused (buttons up / down move the selection).
    Any ideas?

    Okay, got logging turned way up on all "org.apache.*" and "com.sun.*".
    Here is the problem (don't know how to fix it yet:
    113121 DEBUG [http-8080-Processor4] org.apache.myfaces.application.NavigationHandlerImpl      - handleNavigation fromAction=null outcome=success no matching navigation-case found, staying on current ViewRootWhy the action is being executed, but afterwards it says fromAction is null, I do not know yet.
    I am hoping it is possible with the facelets + myfaces integration, as it would be a lot of work for me to go away from myfaces, and I need the facelet functionality.

  • Safari 7.0.2 (9537.74.9) crashes after typing first letter

    This issue started about two days ago.  Whenever I enter the first letter into Safari it crahses, prompting me to reopen the browser.  It behaves normallly if i click on a bookmark.  I just cannot key in anything anymore.  It never behaved like this.  Any solution or suggestion is welcomed.  I really don't want to use Chrome ...
    Thanks
    Safari 7.0.2 (9537.74.9) on OS X 10.9.2, MacBook Air mid-2011

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Remove HTML tags from a string

    I have a string that contains a couple of HTML or XHTML tag, for example
    lv_my_string = '<p style="something">Hello <strong>World</strong>!</p>'.
    For a special use case, I want to remove all HTML from that string and process only the plain text
    lv_my_new_string = 'Hello World!'.
    Is there any method, function module, XSLT or anything else for that already?

    Hi Daniel,
    I tried using the FM (SWA_STRING_REMOVE_SUBSTRING) but I guess it is expecting a particular pattern which is not so apparent in your case. Iu2019ve written a small piece of code which you can try using in a FM or a PERFORM and that should do the trick. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi all,
    Sorry if i am posting this one as a clone. I want the first letter alone in UPPER case in the given data. Is there any specific SQL function to do it or can we do it in REGEXP?
    I have tried with this below one query.
    select Upper(substr('oracle code',1,1))||substr('oracle code',2) from dual;
    Oracle code
    Is anything better than this in performance wise? If so please help me.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    what if the string is like this
    SELECT INITCAP(substr('oracle code Error ', 1, instr('oracle code Error ', ' '))) ||

  • First letter shortcut in app list view - Lumia 800

    Hi all,
     I recently downloaded a couple of apps of my Lumia 800 and I noticed that the app list view has been rearranged in to groups by the first letter of the apps name. Although I find it functional and overall it looks well, I’d like to know if this can be turn off. The only downside I see is that I find myself scrolling down a for longer period of time.
    I appreciate any support.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    This subject has been discussed before, and it is a built in feature that automatically triggers once the number of apps reaches a certain level so you can quickly search for a specific app in a long list. It is a built in feature and cannot be changed AFAIK, there may be changes in future updates, but I doubt it, Personally I find it very useful, and assume most users do as this is only the second thread I've seen mention it as an issue, and as the number of apps available for WP increases I would assume it will become even more useful. The only way to remove for now, as far as I can see is to remove apps you don't use/like untill your list is short enough not to require it. Also, this is a software issue and it may be worth commenting in the Microsoft Windows phone forums, as they may be able to give more SW issue related info ?

    Hey I had the same problem like you yesterday.
    I tried using regEx with positiv lookahead but noticed that there was a problem when the String went over multiple lines. There is probably some solution to it that i havent found yet.
    So what I did was get the Index of the first text I wanted deleted(in your case I guess "artist2"). Then got the Index of the end of the deletion point(In your case the "2"?) and then formed a new String with the substring from the orginal one and the indexes of the two deletion points.
    Sounds kinda dirty but it did work out. Anyway I'll dig myself into regular expressions more today because if you get them to work, they're a charm :)
