  • Need to click on flash movie to set focus

    Using Flash CS4 Pro v. 10.0.2.
    Any time I make a movie that uses onKeyDown, publish the swf + html files to my webserver, and test the movie from my browser, I have to click the movie once or twice before it gets focus and register my keystrokes.
    I got a good answer for this a little over a year ago, but unfortunately I have misplaced it.
    Could someone help me out?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ole

    Thanks, but not sure I follow you.
    Here's a simple example in a single AS file:
    package
        import flash.display.MovieClip;
        import flash.events.KeyboardEvent;
        import flash.ui.Keyboard;
        import flash.events.Event;
        public class Main extends MovieClip
            public function Main()
                stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onKeyDown);
            function onKeyDown(event:KeyboardEvent):void
                if (event.keyCode==Keyboard.RIGHT)
                    player.x += 1;   // move the player to the right
    When I press the RIGHT arrow key, the player object in my FLA file moves to the right.
    When I publish this to a webserver, running the SWF file from an HTML file, I have to click the movie with the mouse before I can move the player with the keyboard.
    Thanks,

  • Have to click on flash movie to activate it

    I have a flash movie that when loads on a webpage, does not
    respond to mouse clicks until the user has clicked anywhere on the
    movie at least once. When you mouseover the flash movie in the
    browser, a grey border appears around the movie and a tooltip with

    Is there a way to avoid the initial click before the user can
    navigate using the buttons in the flash movie?

    hello -
    i created a flash navigation. but for some reason, when
    viewing it within a browser i have to click on the flash once to
    activate it. i have to then click it a second time for it to take
    me to the linked page. is there any code that i can add so it
    removes having it to click the flash area to activate it?

    couldnt find anything!!! what were your search terms,
    "hamburgers", because that wont get you what you need. almost
    anything else will though.. searching, "Click" will probably even
    bring back results.. pair "Click" with "Activate" and you'll have

  • Need to click on first FLASH movie to reactivate after second window

    Hi there...
    I am hoping there is a simple code-solution out there to work around the following problem:
    I am building a mainly flash-base website that also incorporates a couple of pages of straight XHTML for some of the content. If I navigate from my main FLASH movie, the HTML pages open on click via the main menu (in their own window, "_blank"). When I close that XHTML-page to go back to the previous (FLASH, embedded with swfObject) page, I need to click on that original page once to re-activate the FLASH content (i.e. make the rollovers visible, make the menu work, etc)...Is there any way to avoid that extra click, and to have the original page remain "active"?
    I hope this makes sense - I wasn't sure how else to describe the issue.
    Thanks in advance for your help, experts  :-)

  • Need to click to activate Flash...

    Does anyone have a work around so you don't have to click the
    flash to start. Like on my Captivate I have a click box on the
    first screen. You need to click that box to advance to the next
    screen, but you need to click it first to 'activate it' then again
    to run it. Because I'm linking to several movies each time a new
    movie starts you have to click to activate, then click again to
    actually get the function to work.
    ideas?

  • I need to uninstall Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 14.0 r0

    I need to uninstall Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 14.0 r0 but have looked everywhere for how to do this & can not find out how to do this can someone please help? I am using A Sony Vaio, Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, I use Chrome Version 36.0.1985.143 m.
    I want to get it off of my system because ever since I installed it I have had problems with Chrome loading it does not want to load then if I restart my comptuter & I click on chrome  5 windows open up at one time a white box appears saying "Your profile can not be used because it is from a newer browser version of google chrome. Some features may be available. Please specify a different profile directory  or use a different version of chrome" then if you click ok it shuts all the windows down. I have figured a way to get one window to stay open so I can use chrome, now I do have other browser I can use but I do not like them  at all & do not have a flash player since mine is built in with Chrome. So on to the other problem that began as soon as I downloaded this & I understand it may not be this but I still want to get it off of my computer. I also have been having trouble with my flash player error messages: saying it has stopped working constantly, it says upgrade flash text, a plug in shock wave flash isn't responding then in (stop plug in) it wants you to hit.  I have run 3 different Mallware programs through my computer just in case that was one question that was going to be ask. No other programs jave been downloaded wither.
    I am not very good with computers so I have to come to places like this for help & I really have to have help explaining what to do because  do not know much about computers other then getting on them & surfing the web & some basic things. When chromes message said specify a different profile directory that went right over m head. So that should give you an idea where I am coming from. I want to thank you in advance & hope I have made sense in what I have written I tried to give all the information that I could.

    Your screenshot of task manager clarifies things.
    When I replied, I had been looking at the screenshot of the desktop from the original poster, which shows the uninstaller executable and it's properties.  That executable doesn't install anything -- it can just be dragged to the trash; however, that didn't completely align with the behaviors either of you were describing, and we've been trying to figure out what you were talking about.  It wasn't making a lot of sense to me, and it's not a question that I've seen come up before, at least not articulated this way.
    FlashUtil32_XX_XX_XX_XX.exe is the sandbox broker for Internet Explorer.  You can read more about the sandbox work here: Flash Player Security with Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10
    The description listed in Task Manager is a bug, and the source of the confusion.  We've been doing a lot of work modernizing our build systems, and this is fallout from that work. This is something I'd like to see cleaned up, but it's pretty low on the list of priorities.
    The broker service is invoked when Internet Explorer is running in Protected Mode.  On my Windows 7 machine running IE 10, running Flash content in Internet Explorer with Protected Mode enabled causes the broker service to be invoked (this is probably true for previous versions as well, but I didn't test them).  If I disable Protected Mode and restart Internet Explorer, the broker is not invoked, which is expected.
    To disable Protected Mode, launch Internet Explorer and choose security.  Uncheck Enable Protected Mode.  Internet Explorer will restart, and you should be able to verify that the broker is no longer invoked when loading content with Flash Player.
    I've included a screenshot showing the expected processes in both scenarios below.  As the Flash Player ActiveX control is loaded into an Internet Explorer process, you'll see the child explorer.exe process listed, which hosts the Flash ActiveX control in the process list.
    Sandboxing the Flash Player plug-in is an important security mitigation intended to increase the cost of successfully developing and deploying malware.  While it's not a panacea, it significantly raises the bar for attackers.  As I'm sure you've read in the news and trade literature, the threat landscape has evolved significantly over the last few years, and modern security threats and their mitigations are a necessary reality.  New mitigations typically come with some additional processing overhead.  The overhead varies based on the architectural choices made by the particular browser vendors, but the overhead in IE is pretty reasonable.
    We haven't published a blog post specific to IE, but if you're interested in the implementation details, the sandbox architecture is similar to what we did with Protected Mode for Firefox on Windows.  The Flash Player process that handles untrusted content runs at Low Integrity, which restricts access to critical system resources in the event that you encounter malware designed to take control of the Flash Player process.  Access to system resources is negotiated through a Medium Integrity broker process.  Without Protected Mode, the Flash Player process handling untrusted content runs at Medium Integrity, making it easier for malware to escalate privileges from a hijacked process.  Depending on the functionality in play, a lot of message-passing can take place between IE, the broker and Flash Player.  We've effectively doubled the number of messages that get passed, plus put a bunch of validation checks in, and all of that consumes CPU.  It also makes your web browsing activity more secure.
    Some desktop applications (Yahoo Messenger, for example) also use the ActiveX version of Flash Player installed on your machine.  This could explain why you see Flash Player and the broker invoked unexpectedly.  We're also aware of an issue on Vista where the broker doesn't always exit as expected.  In that instance (and on WinXP), I'd highly recommend that people use Google Chrome for web browsing, as Google has extended some security mitigations that would only be available to Internet Explorer users running in newer versions of Windows, and it doesn't suffer from this specific issue with the broker.

  • Programatically click the table header?

    hello
    how do you programatically click the table header? i have some panels in a table...there is a button in each one that says "remove" to remove that panel from the table. when i tablemodel.removeRow(thisRow), it sorta does: the row is gone, the overall count is reduced, but it displays wrong until i click on the table header..
    for example..if it lists job 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. if i delete job #2. 1, 2, 4, 5 are left. when i click on the header it shows: 1, 3, 4, 5 as it should. any query i make to what is there before the header shows the same thing: 1, 2, 4, 5. wierd eh? so i need a way to click on that header programatically. i know its a hack, but i cant figure out why its not deleting the right oen for that little time before the header-click.

    When you say table, I'm assuming you mean JTable since you're using
    a TableModel.
    You might try just encouraging the table to redraw itself as that's
    probably what is happening when you click the header. I've noticed
    that is often required when removing components. Anyways, I'd try
    experimenting with calls to
    repaint() and/or
    validate() or invalidate()
    on the JTable or its parent and see what happens.

  • Geturl needs double-click

    Trivial problem: a Flash 8 animation which has an embedded
    URL button with a geturl - whether 'press' or 'release' - attached
    needs a double click to function; single-click selects the
    animation itself (frame displays the 'selected' border). How pls
    can I get the button to work with a single click like a normal
    <a> URL ?

    I think the problem you facing is the active content warning.
    You can easily see that when you mouse over your flash movie
    a gray border appears around it and a bubble tells you that you
    need to click to activate.
    If this is the case, you need to download the flash 8 update
    that has a new set of templates to remove that system.
    The update can be found here:

  • Sorting the report by clicking the column header

    Hello,
    Currently working on a requirement where i need to sort the report by clicking the column header. Can anyone please help me on this.
    Suppose i have 3 colums deptno,dname,sal fields in my report. if i click deptno column header,  report has to sort by deptno.Like that i need for other columns also.
    Any help is really appreciated
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hello,
    You can sort the fields using method suggested by Cauvery. However if you would like to have Ascending/ Descending sort order control at column header, then would require to implement few additional steps.
    First do the sorting of field using the way suggested by Cauvery. Once sorting is done, right  click on the column name and  select the option ' Bind Sort Control'. You will see the sorted field in the window. select the field and click ok.
    Now you would get 2 arrows on column. If you click upper arrow, fields would be sorted in Ascending Order and if you click on down arrow, it would  be in Descending order.

  • Changing Text in flash Header that cannot be located

    I've a simple template I purchased with a flash header. There is a top navigation across the top of the header in previewing it. However, no matter how much I try to locate each of the text to change it per button, in the library, all of the buttons have the same name, in this particular, "main page", but NOT the rest of the menu from left to right in preview mode. I've went through every single library item to locate how to simply change the text, that's all for each of the menu items and cannot find the residual text for each button on the top of the preview navigation. In my library there is no navmenu or anything like that. The closest I could find was:
    button 2 copy which says 'main page'
    button 2 copy 2, which says, 'main page'
    button 2 copy 3,  which says, 'main page'
    button 2 copy 4, which says, 'main page'
    button 2 copy 5,  which says, 'main page'
    button 2 copy 6,  which says, 'main page'
    button 2 copy 7  which says, 'main page'
    So, no where else in the library do I see, in this particular, the text of the residual navigation items which in this case is at the top of the header. This is nuts. I need to change the remaining items in the top navigation, to things like "main page" which  already have, then "buying", "selling, "movng" and so forth, but cannot find how to change the current text. So simple, but I can't figure this out. Please help... To see an example of needing to change the top navigation to other names, please see http://www.fanniemaehouse.com .
    Thank you.!!

    How much would you charge for just setting those three links on the left navigation? One will go to an outside li
    nk, the other two to other pages inside the website. I'll send you the .fla file if you need.
    Here's my email, [email protected] .Thank you, as it's kinda urgent. I'll send you the .fla file if you send me your email.

  • Flash Header Position Displaying Incorrectly in Firefox

    Hi,
    I'm hoping someone can assist me.
    I designed a website in Fireworks CS4, then exported "CSS and Images" and brought it into Dreamweaver CS4.  I deleted the header "placeholder" and inserted a Flash SWF header of the same size.  Everything is displaying correctly in IE and Chrome (I haven't checked Safari yet), but when I view the site in Firefox, the Flash header is both a few pixels up and a few pixels to the right of where it should be.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Meb

    Hi PZ,
    Thanks for the reply.  Here's a link.
    http://nazarproducemarket.com/index.htm
    I should add also that I did have to modify the "hspace" for the Flash banner by 3 in order for the site to display correctly in IE and Chrome.  Of course, if I remove that, if may be better in Firefox, but then it would be incorrect in other browsers.  Plus, this wouldn't seem to explain why the banner is also displaying a few pixels high in Firefox.
    I believe I am only using Div tags and no tables, but I am a little new to this, so I may be wrong.
    Thanks again,
    Meb

  • Clicking the table header column programmatically

    Hi
    For sorting of the JTable I've used the TableSorter API provided in this site. What I need to do is by clicking on another panel the panel containing the JTable should be displayed sorting the respective column. So what I need to do is click the table header column programmatically. Do you know how can I do that.
    Thanx.

    Take a look at setSortingStatus function in TableSorter.
    If you want ascending sort just call:
    setSortingStatus(columnIndex, 1);This is the code executed when you press table header, it might give you some more insight:public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
                JTableHeader h = (JTableHeader) e.getSource();
                TableColumnModel columnModel = h.getColumnModel();
                int viewColumn = columnModel.getColumnIndexAtX(e.getX());
                int column = columnModel.getColumn(viewColumn).getModelIndex();
                if (column != -1) {
                    int status = getSortingStatus(column);
                    if (!e.isControlDown()) {
                        cancelSorting();
                    // Cycle the sorting states through {NOT_SORTED, ASCENDING, DESCENDING} or
                    // {NOT_SORTED, DESCENDING, ASCENDING} depending on whether shift is pressed.
                    status = status + (e.isShiftDown() ? -1 : 1);
                    status = (status + 4) % 3 - 1; // signed mod, returning {-1, 0, 1}
                    setSortingStatus(column, status);
            }

  • Remove Icon part of Advanced DataGrid Header

    Hi,
    I would like to remove the Icon part of the header in the AdvancedDataGrid. I am however unable to find how to do this.
    In the header of every column in the AdvancedDataGrid, on the right side, it shows a pipe symbol and some spacing. After a bit of digging, I found that it was the Icon part of the header. However, I do not use icons in my headers, and I need to use the complete header space for text. This is why the icon part needs te be removed.
    Does anyone have an idea how we can do this?
    Thanks in advance

    Maybe I'm missing something?

    After installing Flash, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
    When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
    If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
    click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
