Remove Recently Modified text and links

I am new to CSS. Here are the instructions I am using to remove recently modified text and links below it:
Type in the CSS code below in red into Notepad without the quotes. Save the file.
“<style> .s4-recentchanges{ DISPLAY:none; } </style>”
Upload to file to your SharePoint site. Copy the link of the file.
Go to Edit mode of the page where you want the “Recently Modified” link to disappear.
Add a Content Editor webpart (under Media and Content) on the page.
Edit the webpart.
In the Content Link box, paste the URL you copied in 2) above.
Under Chrome Type, select None.
Click OK.
I created the file but am not sure where do I upload the file (site assets, etc). This should have an .css extension. Does this webpart go at the top or bottom of the page.

Firefox page images do not display only text and links

New desktop (not this one) with windows 8.1 Pro, Firefox 29, Norton Internet security. When I go to many of the Firefox pages images do not display, only text and links. This is true for the "get add-ons" page. I can search for add-ons, but when I try to install one, the installation fails. Is there a security setting in windows or NIS that is blocking Firefox images and installations? The Firefox installation went smoothly without error. Other sites do not have this problem.

Wow! I never would have thought of that! My time settings were incorrect when I set up the PC, and I thought I set them. I did have the day, date, and time set correctly. But I did not have AM/PM set right. So, I was off by 12 hours. I corrected it and, voila, all works well.
I'm so happy now, because I can now get all the security extensions I've grown to love:

- Ghostery
- Better Privacy
- Adblock Plus

Displaying a mixture of text and links in a single node of af:tree

Hi,
I want to display few links embedded in text as a node in <af:tree>.
For example, I want a single node in a tree to show three links with text - "Different type of email services are gmail, yahoomail,hotmail".
(gmail,yahoomail and hotmail are links)
Is there a good way of displaying this? I tried following options
1) I have a property named "linkText" in a bean instance mybean of MyBean.java. "linkText" contains required text and "a href" tags to display links. I used the following code in jsp page

On a related note ...is it possible to call a commandLink to call an existing java bean/function within an outputText?
For example:
Say I had an outputText that dumped a /etc/hosts file and I wanted to put in a command link to ping each host and pass the particular IP address to it. What would be the best method for doing that?

Muse CC 2014.1.1 Text and Links on Phone Pages become pictures

I have a website where I have designed phone pages in addition to the desktop version.
The phone pages uploaded to the website no longer have text or links, it is simply a picture of the page layout when I browse it from my iPhone.
I cannot find any settings to explain why this would be happening.
Please please help!
For example I have some picture thumbs and text that is set to link to some m4v movie slideshow files, but whenever I click anywhere on the page,
the entire page is simply a picture. I cannot even select the text any longer.

I would like to know how to fix my safari. There are many pages that the text and links appear as "AAAAAAA" and I dont know where to click or what to do

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:

Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
You can then quit Terminal.

Email text and links display as capital A in a box?

I recently upgraded my computer to a Macbook Pro 13 inch and restored all my software from a Time Machine backup. I decided to install MS Office for Mac and all the links in my emails (Mail) began displaying as a capital A in a box. Adobe emails are completely displayed this way (every character).

How to remove 'Change to Text Mode' link on 'richTextEditor' item

Hi,
Now I'm using 'richTextEditor' item on my page. But above it, there is a link named 'Change to Text Mode'. How can I remove it? From profile, if I change the profile, it will be Text Mode only. But I want to use rich text mode, not use text mode. So I want to remove the link 'Change to Text Mode'. But it seems it is with the text box together.
Please help.

Strange happenings with text and links

I am not very tech savy so be gentle. I have a blog on iweb. Today I posted and there is something going awry with my text. In a certain part it is hazy and stretched when you mouse over it the mouse pointer turns to a link. Very strange as I didn't place a link there.
Also, as a side note, I was wondering how I would make my blog more noticed? Is there a way to make it search engine friendly, or are there any boards I can post it on?

Are you sure you didn't make a hyperlink there? The link goes to...

...which seems in keeping with the subject matter of your site.
Anyways, look again in iWeb and make sure you did not inadvertantly put a hyperlink for the involved text. Otherwise, this stretched out text is usually indicative of a corruption of your link image. It's nothing to worry about as it is easily remedied by a "Publish All to .Mac" command.
As far as getting your site indexed, you are doing the right thing by posting your URL here. It's a step in the right direction. Give it some time. You can also submit your iWeb URL here...

Text and links sometimes not working

Ok guys, I'm fairly new at this website creation thing and it's giving me an achy skull. I'm publishing my site through godaddy, the domain is www.thegypsydave.com
I've had to create the page 5 or 6 times now, luckily it's not very detailed. The problems i'm having are:
When I publish it some of the links don't work
When I publish it the text is in a different spot than it should be
I think these are pretty basic things, but I can't figure them out and would be forever grateful for help. Though I think the website is appearing ok for now, though I tell you, it changes on its own account i swear.

It does look ok now, but that's because I re-did it 5 or 6 times. Would it matter if i'd emptied my cache if i wasn't viewing it online but just from the folder that I published it in? Because the links and text weren't working then either. Though, like I said, I redid it a bunch of times until it worked.

Can I rollover an image to "remove" it to have clickable links show up once at hidden state?

I have a design wherein I want certain elements to change states on rollover. With this action, there would be a line of text with each one clickable to a different link. Right now I cannot find a good way to have one image "hide" on rollover, reveal text below AND have the text clickable. This is most likely due to the object's opacity being at 0% rather than truly "hidden". Under the text, there is a different image to make text appear more clearly.
Am I missing a fundamental element with using states? Even when trying to use the State Widget it doesn't seem to be able to work within different layers and no combination of state changes allows my text to be hidden behind image on the load, rollover to remove object obscuring text AND having it truly "hidden" or "gone" at the entire time the object is being rolled over.

The simplest way:
Go to the widget library and you will find a state button. Place it onto the canvas.
In normal state set opacity of the text box to "0" and fill the button (not the text box) with an image.
In active state reduce the opacity of thebachground image to, lets say, 15 % and the opacitiy of the text box to 100%. Assign a link to the text box using the link command in the upper command strip..
Choose the rollover and mousedown state as you like.

Folder action to find and replace text and change line feeds

I want to use a folder action to find and replace text and change Mac carriage returns to DOS line feeds inside text files.
The text to be replaced is: "/Users/wim/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Music" (without the quotes)
This text has to be removed (i.e. replaced by an empty string)
The text occurs many times within each file.
The files are playlists exported from iTunes in the M3U format (which are text files). They contain Mac carriage returns. These need to be changed to DOS line feeds.
I have found the following two perl commands to achieve this:
To find and replace text: perl -pi -w -e 's/THIS/THAT/g;' *.txt
To change carriage returns to line feeds: perl -i -pe 's/\015/\015\012/g' mac-file
I know that it's possible to make a folder action with Automator that executes a shell script.
What I want to do is drop the exported playlists in M3U format in a folder so that the folder action will remove the right text and change the carriage returns.
My questions are:
Is it possible to make a folder action that executes command line commands instead of shell scripts?
What is the correct syntax for the two commands when used in a folder action shell script? Especially, how do I escape the slashes (/) in the string to be removed?

Ok, I've include an applescript to run a shell command. The applesript command quoted form makes a string that will end up as a single string on the bash command line. Depending on what you want to do, you may need multiple string on the bash command lines. I've included some information on folder actions.
It is easier to diagnose problems with debug information. I suggest adding log statements to your script to see what is going on. Here is an example.

How to set up a folder action.
1) right click on folder. click on Enable folder actions
2) Place script in
/Library/Scripts/Folder Actions Scripts
3) right click on folder. click on attach folder action
pick your script.
Create a new folder on the desktop & try.
You can put multiple folder actions on a folder. There are other ways of doing this.

Start the AppleScript Editor
/Applications/AppleScript/Script Editor.app
In Snow Leopard it's at: /Applications/Utilities/AppleScript Editor
Copy the script text to the Applescript editor.
Note: The ¬ is typed as option+return. ption+return is the Applescript line continuation characters.
You may need to retype these characters.
Save the text to a file as an script and do not check any of the boxes below.

I have 2 8.5x11 Indesign CS4 docs that I tried to place in one 11x17 doc side by side. Text and linked graphics disappear. Why?

I recently updated my OS to OS X. I had to update my word and powerpoint etc... to 2011 version, but now when I want to open a .doc file made in word 2003 it removes all the text in it! I did not back anything up!

If you updated from 2003 that must be on a Windows machine, can you recover them from there?
