Two data sources to One Infosource?

HI GURUS
Can we connect Two data sources to One Infosource?
Regards
Durai

Hi Expert !
Thanks
If we assigned two data sources to an Infosource, all those fields will be availabe in the transfer rule maintanence screen that we can choose and assign to Infosource infoobjects.
Am I correct?

  • Accessing two data sources in one method

I wanted to access two connection pools in one EJB project. I manage to create two connection pools in weblogic server and I successfully wrote the lookup code. I wanted to call these two data sources in one method. But it only gives result from one data source connection. other is null. Im getting following message also
Connection has already been created in this tx context for pool named jdbc_informix_pool. Illegal attempt to create connection from another pool: JDBC_informix_webdata
"jdbc_informix_pool" and "JDBC_informix_webdata" is the names of my connection pools. the two data sources works perfectly when they are accessed separately. but whenever im tryng to call two data sources in one method it retrive data from only one data source and gives me above message.
anyone know how to fix it.?
    thnx

    hi...
thnx man.. it worked. But there is another problem. I cant close my data source connection. whenever im tryng to close it, it says
    Result set already closed
i manage to run my program without closing the data source connection. but after a while it says
No resources currently available in pool JDBC_informix_webdata to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry
i can increase the size of the pool and run my program. but i guess if I close the data source connection this will be resolved. But how can I close my data source connection. I tried finally clause. but it gives me the result set already closed message
    how can i do it.?
    thnx

  • Two data sources in one file

I would like to write capacitance (double) and fluxvalue (double) as a
function of time to a single file, preferably a spreadsheet.
Currently, each one is written to its own file using "Write LabView
Measurement File".  This causes problems in data synchronization.
Do I need to create an array first?  If so I had difficulty inputing the correct data type into the array.
Also, is it possible to save all of my subvi's into a single vi?
Thanks for your time and consideration,

You can also just use merge signals.
To write to a plain spreadheet, you could double-click the lvm express VI and configure as follows:
    No Headers
    comma separated
Now name the file *.csv at the dialog and excel will open it without problems later.

  • Combining Data into one Cube from two Data-sources..

    Dear Experts,
I am pulling data from two data sources and trying to combine in one Info-Cube. The data are like
    Data-Source 01
    1. GUID  --Common
    2.Document No ( User Entry)
    3.Dist. Channel
    4.Transaction Type
    5.Date and Quantity
    Data-Source 02
    1.GUID -- Common
2.Billing Document ( If User drill down according to Document No , Billing Document should come in the report )
    3.Billing date
    4.Net Value
Out of the datas , The GUID is common between the 2 data-sources.  I was thinking that, tha data will take according to its place and If i select the Document No in Report, it will atomatically fetch all the data like Tran type, dist ch, Billing Document No , Billing date.. .
The problem is , in the report Tha data is not coming as I was thinking.
And Another problem is , In future I need to create a Multiprovider between the above mentioned Info-cube and One ODS. And  DOCUMENT NO is common in Cube and ODS.
    Please Suggest,
How can I proceed for the following requirement.
    Thanks,
    Sanjana

    Hi Sanjana,
In your case cube will create a problem because it will have multiple records . For example :
    Data-Source 01 :
    1. GUID -- 101
    2.Document No - 999
    3.Dist. Channel - DL
    4.Transaction Type - GPRO
    5.Date and Quantity - 20.02.2011 & 20
    Data-Source 02
    1.GUID -- 101
    2.Billing Document - 6000
    3.Billing date - 03.03.2011
    4.Net Value - 500
Your cube will have 2 records . And your requirement is to show above two records in 1 record in the report .
Why dont you make an ODS in between , where you can put GUID as the Key field and rest all the fields as data fields. Create 2 transformations to this DSO from the 2 datasources . And let it get updated one by one . Your DSO will have 1 record only . Now either you do reporting on this DSO or take the data to the cube .
Hope the above reply was helpful.

  • PerformancePoint - 2010 Scorecard filter based on two data sources (Actual - OLAP/Target - Sharepoint List)

    Hi
I have KPI's for tasks performed by specific groups within our organization, the actuals are determined by an MDX tuple formula against an AS OLAP data source:
    ([Change Task Assignment Group].[Group Subtype].&[GDC PM], [Measures].[Average task duration - m]) /1440
The Task Name is provided by a filter, also looking at the AS OLAP data source.
This woks well and allows us to have a single scorecard for the team, providing actuals depending on the task selected from the filter.  The problem comes in setting targets for the KPI's!  I can only set one target for each KPI and this is
the same for which ever task is selected via the filter.  The target is stored in a SharePoint list.
Is it possible to have targets for the different tasks driven by the same filter?  Can a single filter be configured to return values from two data sources to both the Actual KPI value and the Target value?
    Thanks

A good solution. Liked it very much. Can you please make it a technet blog for others.

  • Two DBConnection_OLAP sources for one ETL

I have a requirement to pull information from two different EBS instances. I have created the two data sources in the physical tab and when creating the Execution plan, and generating the parameters, it prompts for "how many number of copies"
Has anyone tried this option for two copies and does it mean that it will run the ETL by pulling information from two EBS sources and put them in the same target datawarehouse.
    Thank you

    Hello,
Yes, you are correct the 6036E E-series card does not support the Arm Start Triggering, but the M series cards do support this feature.  For the future possibility of an M series card, I would suggest using the two counters with the arm start trigger.
As for the E series card, I was a little confused about the setup you are describing.  You mentioned that you wanted to use the two pulses (the 1 Hz GPS and the 100 Hz IMU) to be the same external sample clock for one counter (counter 0).  However, later in the same post you mentioned wanting to use the two pulses as two different gates.  I am going to assume that you want to use the two pulses as gates on the same counter in-order to have them share the same 100 KHz source.  Then your question was how to differential in-between the two measurement, since you want to use an OR gate.
The problem is that whether you are using this setup (one counter) or utilizing two counter that share the same 100 KHz source on the E series … you still are not addressing the fact that the two inputs (1 Hz GPS and 100 Hz IMU) are not synchronized.  This will result in an offset signals and your measurements will not be reliable.  Thus the differential question is not as relevant
I would suggest using Buffered Period Measurements with a M series card for this application.  However, I do realize that in the end you might be trying to find a quick solution with the E series card.  For this, I would suggest taking the GPS out of the picture and just input the fluctuating 100 Hz signal.  With this setup you explore software monitoring options.
I have included links to articles about counters and Buffered Period Measurements.

  • How to send data from 4 different data sources to one ODS

    Hello Gurus,
There is a transaction called KSB1 in R/3.
It has data related to cost center , cost element, G/L .
In BI, i need to transfer the data from these Data sources to one ODS.
Can any body give me some idea.
Points will be awarded for any kind of response .
    Thanks .
    Anu

    Hi Rupa..
In your requirement some data sources (Cost centre, Cost element) are master data sources.
They are available as info Objects in BI (Content).
So there is no need to create ODS on these.
But the general scenario for creating ODS from multiple data sources in case of Transaction documents
    Like :
    PO header, PO line items...
For this the Pre-requisite is to have common fields between these data sources (eg PONo).
Hope this gives idea for u....
    Cheers...

  • Data Load into two data targest from one DataSource

    Hi,
I want to load data into two data targest from one DataSource. I did full load, then Initialization & delta settings for that DataSource. But I want to load data into one data target using delta InfoPackage & into 2nd data target using Full Load InfoPackage. Can I schedule execution of these 2 infopackges one delta & 2nd Full load InfoPackage for the same DataSource simaltaneously?
    Regards,
    Pradip

    Hi,
In BI, You can achieve this. As thorugh info package, you laod data till PSA only. Then it is being loaded to other data targets.
Create two DTPs, one with FULL load and another one with Detla Load. It will work.
In R/3 Side, As sandeep has mentioned , there might be possibility that if you run full load after delta , your delta may get corrupt. i am not sure about that , but there is a possibility.

  • Multiple Data Sources In One Logical Table

I am new to OBIEE and I have came accross an issue. I appologize if this information is in the forum somewhere but I have searched and cannot find it.
My situation is that I would like to have one logical table that contains multiple data sources which have all the same columns. I already have session variables setup to differentiate the user's security through a row-wise variable for a specific column and a session variable for another column which determines the user's association to the data source in which they belong to. This security works well when the data sources are seperated in the Business Model and Mapping portion but the issue that arises is that the user's cannot share reports when the data sources are seperated in the BM&M.
I have dragged and dropped a table from the Physical model to the BM&M, I then dragged the second data source (with same meta data structure) over to the "Sources" folder in the first data source table in the BM&M. On the Content tab or each data source table I have defined the WHERE clause as such, where VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") session variable is my row-wise column filter and the VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP") filter is my data source determinative:
    sandbox."".SANDBOX.OBIEE_CROSS_ENROLLMENTS.HOME_SCHOOL = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") AND sandbox."".SANDBOX.OBIEE_CROSS_ENROLLMENTS.DATA_SOURCE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP")
Unfortunatley this only returns values in the BI Answers for the first drag and drop Pysical table in the BM&M layer and not the second Physical table drug into the "Sources" folder. I have also tried to create a new logical table and drag both tables into the "Sources" folder to no avail. I have experimented with the Fragmentation content on the "Content" tab of the seperate logical tables, checking the "This source should be combined with other sources at this level", which gives me an error in BI Answers that a column does not exist which really does.
What could I be missing? Advanced thanks to those who reply.
    Thank you,
    Kyle

    Stijn,
Thank you for the article link. That was very helpful! It seems that I had a few things off as you do need the "This source should be combined with other sources at this level." checked. In my two table source columns for DATA_SOURCE I defined a literal ('086496' and '085597' for the other) in the Column Mapping tab. I pasted the following in the Fragmentation content, checking the "This source..." box on the Content tab:
    eSIS.SANDBOX4_SCHOOLS.DATA_SOURCE = '086496'
And pasted the following into the WHERE clause, checking "Select distinct values" on the Content tab:
    sandbox4."".OBIEE.NWOCA_SCHOOLS.SCHOOL_CODE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") AND sandbox4."".OBIEE.NWOCA_SCHOOLS.DATA_SOURCE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP")
This took care of my user's security, utilizing the session variables in the WHERE clause. I am now able to generate reports that only one user can access from one data source and share that same report with another user who can only see data from the other data source.
    Many thanks!!!

  • Infospoke with two data source

    Hi all,
is there a way in an Infospoke to include infoobjects belonging to two different data source?
    tks,
    Federico

    Hello Frederico,
as far as I know you can only use one data source of type InfoObject, basic cubes or ods in an infospoke. Perhaps Analyses Process Designer (APD) may help you to achieve your goal. You can use it to join your InfoObject into a new one, or create a transactional ODS with the desired data. These new objects can than be used in an infospoke. And you can use a process chain to put all required steps in the right order.
    Kind regards,
    Jürgen

Good afternoon,It has been a while since I have used Crystal Reports and I was hoping someone could help me with this:Let me explain the data:We have an application that tracks Cases for Patients.  For every 1 Case there are MANY Notes.  For every 1 Case the are MANY Appointments.  I have two data sets that I am using as my data sources for this report:1.  Notes by Case2. Appointments by CaseOkay, I would like to create a report that displays for each Case:1.  Case information2.  Appointments related to the Case3.  Notes related to the CaseI keep getting a bunch on duplicates due to the 1:M relationships with Case.  Is there a solution?  I hope I have been clear.Thanks in advance.mamorgan1

  • Two data Models in one report

    Hi There,
I have created two data model for my report. The queries have no relation to each other. Is that possible to put both these in one report with same user parameters. or do u have any better suggestion to do this.
    For Example:
select count(*) from (select name "Worker" from person
    where start_date between (:P_1) and (:P_2)
select count(*) from (select name "ADMIN PERSON" from admin
    where start_date between (:P_1) and (:P_2)
    Thanks

    Hi Jagjit,
I created one report with 2 SQL queries:
select count(*) from employees where department_id < :P_1
    and
select count(*) from departments where department_id < :P_1
And it worked fine. So your report should be OK. By the way, a report has just one "Data Model". It is possible to have 2 or more "Queries" in the data model.
    Navneet.
