Removing fill colors from shapes?

I drew some squares using shape layers and filled them with white and added a stroke using layer styles.
How can I remove the white fill color and make them transparent so they reveal the layer underneath?
Thanks.

Doing this gets rid of the stroke I applied through Layer Styles. How can I keep a stroke around the shape?

  • Three Numbers questions:how do you change the auto default background or fill color from white to another color to use in multiple succeeding operations?  what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percent?

    Numbers questioons:
    -how do I change the automatic default background fill color so it stays a non white color?
    -what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percentage?
    -how do I create a signal formula to be sue against an entire column of data (for example, if I wanted to multiply the each cell in the column by the number 10)?
    -I have created a spreadsheet in Numbers with header and rows labelled and it contains formulas as well.  I now want to create a new 'blank' of this template with same header and row names and formulas, but without the cell entries from my earlier exerciser so I can use again in the future. How do I do this?

    Hi Matt,
    For short columns, the easiest method is to select the cell containing the formula, then grab the fill handle (small circle at the botom right of the selected cell) and drag down.
    For long columns, use either Jerry's suggestion (copy/paste) or Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Copy/Paste:
    Select the cell containing the formula. Copy
    Select from the cell containing teh formula to the end of the column. Paste.
    Fill Down:
    After entering the formula, and pressing enter...
    Click on the column reference tab to select the whole column.
    Command click on each cell above the one containing the formula to remove it from the selection.
    When cell with the formula is the top cell in the selection, go Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Pick whichever is easiest.

  • Removing fill color upon de-selection

    I have a check box that, when checked, causes about 3 other things to happen. The last thing to happen is that the check box itself is supposed to fill with color. All works great, except the color remains when the check box is de-selected.  I had a similar problem before and was told to add xfa.layout.relayout() to the end of the script, and that worked in that particular instance. However, adding it to this series of scripts, does not make the fill color go away upon de-selection.
    Here are the scripts attached to this one little check box:
    if(Monitored.rawValue==1){Page2.presence="hidden";}else{Page2.presence="visible";}
    if(Monitored.rawValue==1){Page3.presence="hidden";}else{Page3.presence="visible";}
    if(Monitored.rawValue==1){MP2.presence="hidden";}else{MP2.presence="visible";}
    if(Monitored.rawValue==1){Monitored.ui.checkButton.border.fill.color.value="255,255,155";} else{Monitored.ui.checkButton.border.fill.color.value="255,255,255";}xfa.layout.relayout() ;
    Does anyone know what is wrong with here?
    ~Jenny

    Okay, I solved my own problem simply by moving the script that controls the checkbox fill color to the beginning of whole line of scripts associated with that checkbox. I have no idea why that worked though, so I still have the knowledge gap.
    If anyone knows why this worked and cares to share, I would be eternally grateful!

  • Fill color of shapes in layer

    How can i fill the color (solid) of shapes within an layer? For now I got:
    function getLayer(name)
        return app.activeDocument.layers.getByName(name);
    function fillSelection(hex)
        var layer = getLayer('Background');
        app.activeDocument.activeLayer = layer;
      app.activeDocument.selection.selectAll();
        var selection = app.activeDocument.selection;
      var sColor =  new SolidColor;
      sColor.rgb.hexValue = hex;
      app.activeDocument.selection.fill(sColor);
      app.activeDocument.selection.deselect();
    But this is not working if i create a rectangle in the "Background"-Layer. (even not if its converted to smart object or rasterized...).
    Thank you!

    A rectangle in the background layer OK:

  • How do I remove saved colors from color palette?

    If I open the color palette in Mail there are several I have saved at the bottom, in the little squares below the color circle. Some are duplicates or ones I don't want any more. Yet I cannot get rid of them. Can't drag them off and can't find a way to eliminate them. Does anyone have an idea about this?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Richard & Jeffrey,
    Thank you for posing the question and answering it. It is just what I wanted.
    Now one more thing Jeffrey - to put the icing on the cake(!)... can I name that saved color? I've tried clicking on it, but nothing happens.
    Thanks

  • Removing color from a PDF file

    I am trying to remove the colors from a PDF file.
    To do this I print it to "Adobe pdf" setting the parameter in the Paper/Quality tab, Black & White.
    But in the generated PDF the color is still there !
    How can I remove the color from a PDF file ?
    Tks.

    Try the print production options under the Advanced menu.

  • Remove color from link text

    How do I remove the color from text that is a link to another page?
    Here is my script:
    a:link {
        text-decoration: none;
    a:visited {
        text-decoration: none;
    a:hover {
        text-decoration: underline;
    a:active {
        text-decoration: none;
    But, it still looks like this:

    If  you want to change the colors of the links, you need to change them in your css:
    a:link {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #ffffff /* this makes it white on any link */
    a:visited {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #ffffff /* this is also white for any visited link */
    a:hover {
    text-decoration: underline;
    color: #ffffff /*this link is white, but when you hover over it, the underline shows up */
    a:active {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #fffff /*another white link that is the active link */
    I thnk that is what  you are trying to do as  you stated you wanted the links to change. If you don't do that the links will be the default colors
    Blue for link, purple for the visited, etc.
    Jim
    Added later: This will change all your links on the page using the css. You can do it like fixated247  said above if that's what you want, if you only want it to change in the menu (which I cannot see, it's not there on the above linked page) you need to select the div or class that is using it.
    /*if the link is in the menubar div then make a different selector for each of the link, visited, hover and active, in that order */
    #menubar a:link     {
    text-decoration:none;
    color:#ffffff;
    etc. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

  • Cannot fill a rectangular shape with Color

    HI,
    I cannot fill a rectangular shape with color. I know it was working at some point. I checked the ID help, and did a search here with no results.
    I have the tool bar set correctly I think (see below). The object isn't behind other objects either, - that I can see. I do see it when I use the scroll bar so it's there somewhere. (see Pink box below).
    Any ideas profound or otherwise?
    Thenk Yew.

    You haven't got 100% transparency applied to it?  Then it might appear while scrolling because of a slightly delayed display.  That's all I can think of at the moment...
    The other thing to try if you suspect an individual document is playing up is to export it to inx or idml and open that.  Then another thing is to try replacing your preferences.

  • How to 'remove color' from a selection?

    I plan to get PSE (Mac) soon but need to ask a question
    before...
    Say I have a .jpeg, or .tiff (color image) open.
    I then make a selection of a rectangle or some other shape over the image.
    Is it possible to 'remove the color' or select gray scale
    within the selected shape, so that there is then the
    original image with the selection in monochrome
    and the rest in the original color?
    many thanks

    Come back when you're ready and someone can tell you some of the ways to do it. No point in going into that till you have the program in front of you.

    How do I remove extra profiles from color mangement in Print Module?

    If you're talking about the "short list" then click on other and then uncheck the ones that you don't want displayed. If you're talking about the long list, then you will have to browse to the folder containing the profiles and then delete them manually.

  • Fill Color Changes When I Paste a Shape, Flash CS6

    Whenever I paste, or paste in place, a shape (this does not happen with strokes), the fill color I currently have selected will change to match the color of what I've just pasted. If I paste something with multiple colors, it randomly chooses one of those colors to switch to. I've tried running searches online for what this phenomenon is, or how to change it, but I've come up with nothing. I'm using a mac, but a friend uses Flash CS6 on her windows machine, and it does the same thing. This doesn't happen in CS4.
    Is there a workaround? Or is this an annoying new feature I just have to live with?

    I can only verify what you see and explain the behavior but I do not believe there is any way to alter that behavior. When the new object is added to the stage (via paste) Flash makes sure to select it and it's unavoidable (and desired behavior) that it would trigger the contextual (color) panels with the correct information for the current selection. This appears to be a bug in that regard.
    You can always report it in a bug submission, I think the behavior is a clear bug and it should be easy to fix. It affects CS6 which is still a current product (due to AS2.0 support mostly), and CC, so it's important. Good find!

  • Best way to remove the color blue from this?

    Trying RGB Curves and Three-Way Color Corrector, but I can't seem to remove the color blue from the cutting tool in the screenshot.
    In photoshop, I could use hue / saturation and adjust only the blues, is that an option in Premiere?

    I've had good luck with Change Color in Premiere Pro, as mention above:
    Go to the Effects Pane > Video Effects > Color Correction > Change Color and apply the Change Color effect to your clip.
    Use the eyedropper to select the color in the shot you want to modify, using Tolerance and Softness to help select the color.
    Then modify the color using the transform settings.
