Removing .html extension when using MUSE

After creating my website with MUSE, I uploaded to the Adobe Business Catalyst (BC), but couldn't remove the .html extension. However, if you create a page using just BC, the extension will automatically be gone by default.
Once you've uploaded your MUSE site to BC, edit your page's HTML CODE. At the top of the HTML CODE, remove <!DOCTYPE html>. Also go through the HTML and remove the .html from all links pointing to pages within your website such as "index.html". It would then be just "index". Or "about.html" -> "about". You can leave links pointing to facebook or twitter or anywhere outside of your website alone.
Also you will need to edit the page url name. It will say "http://yourdomain.com/index.html" Just remove the .html. This is located at the top of the edit page page on BC, ***NOT IN THE HTML CODE***.
I'm not sure how to do PHP, but I don't think MUSE creates PHP anyway. Typically you would have to just use the .htaccess Rewrite.

You are right on. When you upload files from Muse to BC you are creating the pages on upload and until you go into BC and update the URLs in Site Manager > Pages for each page it will be .html. The only note I would add is that you don't need to adjust "index.html" file URLs in BC. If you have a page called "index.html" in the folder "contact" then you only need to adjust the links in your HTML to point to "http://yoursite.com/contact/" and BC will serve the index.html file without showing that filename in the browser URL bar. If you, instead, have a file called "contact.html" in your BC root folder then, yes. Just go into the BC admin and update the URL of the page there. You can leave the .html or .htm extension on the file but BC will serve it without the extension since you specified that in BC's Admin.

I've developed a report running Oracle Reports 10g that is being emailed to a user. I would like to specify the name of the file and it's extension that is attached. Are there variables or parameters in Oracle Reports that I can use to accomplish this?
It looks like by default that the file name is using the Name value found in the Property Inspector for the report. I have not been able to find a way to re-assign this value with a value from either the input or select values in the data model.
Will Oracle Reports 10g allow me to define the name of the file and the extension?
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the quick reply and information. I almost thought you had solved my problem until I found out that distribution and bursting do not support delimited and spreadsheet output. One of the two files I need to email has a desformat of SPREADSHEET.

My page is loaded into a palcehold within the Ajax update panel within the current Masterpage, so page loadload doesn't occur. But if my Muse page can capture the partial pageload then I can tell jquery to run the Muse formating routine.

Jackie, I am having the same issue and agree that it obscures our site analytics.
I only have the "WebMarketing" subscription - so I cannot see how often people visit my site (unless I just dont know how to view that). Here is a screen shot of how many different locations I have and how much it affects my site visitor count based on the other locations which seem "legit" because they have more page views than visits.
I hope there is a way to fix or block this.

Why won't FireFox open local .html files (when using "open file")?

I teach hand coding and use FireFox to grade my students work. I also tell them to use this browser to review their own work. If they cannot navigate to their files on their desktop I will have to switch to another browser. I know it is something from the latest version... as I have been using FireFox for the last 5 years as my classroom browser of choice.

Firefox should still be able to open files using open files.
I use Windows so things may differ slightly but the option to open files is available but not visible by default, I can get the option to browse for files using: keyboard keys'''Alt , F , O'''
My directory structure and path may differ slightly but I am also able to key directly into the location bar something such as '''''file:///C:/'''''
A third option would be simply to click on the relevant HTML file and use the option to open, or open with Firefox. Such files may also be bookmarked.

Remove white background when using Frames

I am trying to use a simple black frame around an image. Unfortunately a white frame is created also, from the "background." How do I remove this large white surrounding frame? Is there a way to create a framed image with no background? Why is a background considered to be necessary behind a framed image? If I try to copy only the image and its frame, so that I can paste only them into a new document, "copy" is greyed out in the menu. Why can one not copy an image that has a Photoshop frame on it? I can copy and past images with no frames.

How are you applying the frame to your image?
Simply open your image through File->Open.
When your image has been opened, go to content pane and double click the frame that you want to apply.
The frame would be applied and there wont be any white background.
You can also adjust the image inside the frame. Just double click the image inside the frame and you you would get the option to drag the image to adjust or to zoom in or zoom out.
Please describe if you are using any other workflow.

Can't share files on a removable hard drive when using Airport Extreme

I connected a removable hard drive to the USB port on the Airport Extreme. I can see the hard drive under Disks in Airport Utility, but cannot view or share the files.
Note: I can share the files when I am connected directly to my MacBook Pro USB port.
Please help.

I tried going to afp://10.0.1.1 but get a connection error. I may be doing it wrong. How do I get the proper IP to use?

Is it possible to create an HTML email newsletter using Muse?

I'm creating a newsletter for my business and have tried many newsletter online newsletter providers (MailChip, Behance, etc.) but none of them really let me create something freely - I have to stick to their templates which aren't possible to manipulate.
I was hoping I could use Adobe Muse to create my newsletter to be sent out to my mailing list. I should say I don't know HTML - I just want to be able to export it and send it out without having to use any coding.

Muse output is designed for the requirements of popular web browsers on desktops, tablets and phones. The requirements for generating HTML/CSS that works well across popular e-mail readers are very different.

MX200 G2 Remove Self-view When Using Far Side Camera Control

I have a new MX200 G2 which is working great. The one feature I need to remove is the self-view while the far side is moving the MX200's camera. We use this for telepsych visits and it's very distracting for the patient sitting in the room with the MX200 see how the physician on the other end of the call is moving their camera. Here are a few settings I changed with no luck. The self-view is gone, but when the camera moves or zooms, the self-view appears for a short time.

"camCtrlPip CallSetup" = duration 1 second and mode off.
"selfview Default" = fullscreen = off, mode = on, on monitor role = first, PIPPositon = lowerleft
This seems to remove the self-view for everything other than camera movement during a call. What have I missed?? I didn't see any settings in the experimental mode either.

I looked through the admin guide and even on some of our endpoints, don't think what you're looking for is possible.

Adding a search bar when using Muse and Business Catalyst

I am creating a site with Adobe muse and Business Catalyst integration for blogs and ecommerce. I know you can add a search bar using this tutorial from Muse Themes. However, will it search everything created between both Muse and Business Catalyst, or will it only search for Muse created content if inserted in Muse?

When you create a search option in a Business Catalyst site, it searches everyting in the site, all th contents of the site that is. So, whatever the content of the site is, it will be indexed for searching purposes, provided you used the BC search bar.

Where does the html source when using paramform=html generated from?

I have changed my server name and I have found that when I have paramform=yes or html in the url for the report, the html source of the paramform that is displayed uses the old server name.
Does anyone know where the paramform is generated from, or is it just a template?
If the report does not require any parameters and I have paramform=no in the url, then it works correctly.

Go to TextEdit preferences and set everything to Plain Text instead of Rich Text and make sure you check the box for "ignore rich text commands in html files".

How do I remove automatic margins when using list tags?

i'm trying to create a list of links on my webpage using Dreamweaver CS4. I've created a .li tag using CSS so that no bullets/numbers show up and i've then created .ul a:link, ul a:hover etc compound tags to make all list items into rollovers.
However, the text in the lists indents automatically (as if I have set some sort of margin) and is thus, out of line with the text above it. No margin/padding is set in any of the CSS elements so I am confused.
Any help would be appreciated.

Safe to remove linux kernel when using linux-lts kernel?

I'm using the `linux-lts` kernel on my work machine (less reboots after updates); I know in theory it should be safe to remove the normal `linux` kernel (and it's dependencies) but does anyone know if it is safe in practice? Nothing that assumes there will always be a `linux` package because without it there couldn't be a running system?

That might mean, most notably, that infrared ports and cdemu-driven image mounts won't work with the lts kernel (or at least should not without pulling in the normal kernel).

Remove xml declarations when using xslt

Hi, i have created an xslt which transforms an xml file and then imports the information into a mysql database. It works and imports the information into the database but it also brings across the xml delcarations and the node names.
Is there a coldfusion way to remove these declarations, all i want is the information itself brought into the database.

Satellite A500-1GL: Is it advisable to remove battery when using mains

I know this is a silly question but its actually something i don't know so thought i would ask.
I nearly always plug my notebook into the mains power supply (Sat a500 1gl)
Just wondering do you actually have to keep the battery installed even when using mains.
Or is it actually advisable to remove the battery when using mains?
I did not know if the battery should always be in place.

I use notebooks for 10 years now and i have changed several of them. To be clear I use it daily for my business and it is always connected to the mains but I have never removed the battery.
At the moment I use 3 years old Satellite P200. Battery was never removed but if I try to use it on battery power supply I can work almost two hours without problems. Satellite A500 is one of the newest notebook models with battery of the latest generation so it is not so sensitive as old one and I don't think you must remove it all the time. What you can is to use it from time to time on battery only to make it empty and make full load again.
Many people here have different opinion and at least it is your decision what to do.

I have a HTML extension running in In-design CC 2014 version.
I want to perform some required set of actions before my extension window is closed(by clicking on the cross button on top right corner).
Does In-design throws any event for it? Or can we capture it using C++ plugin in some way?

Naah.......haven't got any event for that yet.
Although, since HTML extensions are using chromium browser, as a workaround, u can attach listener to HTML onClose event, but it won't solve any purpose if you
are looking to logout session or do some business login in your code.
