  • How to prevent editing a SharePoint site column value from document properties view of a downloaded document?

    Hi,
    We have created a SharePoint site column with below settings
    1. ShowInEditForm - False
    2. ShowInNewForm - False
    3. ShowInDisplayForm - True
    With the above definition, the site column showing only in view properties form not in New and Edit forms.  This column is added to a document library and updating this column value will be managed by event receiver code when a document is uploaded.
    Till this point, everything is working OK.
    But the issue is when we download and open a document from the above document library, under document properties the above column (with value) is visible along with other document default properties and  this column value is editable. With this issue,
    user is able to set a new value and overwrite the existing value by re-uploading the document.
    Could you please let me know how to handle this issue so that user should not be allowed to edit except viewing the value/property (read only)?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Ramesh

    You can set "ShowInFileDlg" property of field to "FALSE". Using this you will not see that field in document properties list

    either this way we can do this
    1)
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    <b> factory.setIgnoringElementContentWhitespace(true); </b>
    DocumentBuilder db = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    or
    2)
    java.io.StringWriter sw = new java.io.StringWriter();
    StreamResult sr = new StreamResult(sw);
    t.transform(new DOMSource(doc), sr);
    String xml1 = sw.toString().trim();
    <b> xml1=xml1.replaceAll("\\s",""); </b>
    System.out.println(xml1.trim());

  • Unauthorized user removing policy from document

    I'm facing a strange behavior in my environment.
    I have a policy ("GDEHPolicyTest") which only the "SetPolTestUser" user can have access (open, close, print, etc). I also have another user ("SetPolTestUser2") which do not have access to documents protected with "GDEHPolicyTest" policy.
    When I protect a document using the "SetPolTestUser" user and the policy "GDEHPolicyTest", the user "SetPolTestUser2" cannot open this document on Adobe Reader.
    But when I call the following process on workbench using the "SetPolTestUser2" user with the previous protected document it runs with success and return an unprotected copy of the document. This user should not be able to remove the policy from that document.
    See the Event page of that document:
    Is there any way that I can prevent that happen? Because this a security issue.
    * The same behavior happens if I call the webservice method "Remove Policy".

    Hi dspinatto,
    Dont get me wrong here please, i really appriciate everyones help and opinion on this matter.
    I just remarked the two different solutions to my question and wondered which one was actually true/working.
    So forgive me if i sounded a bit harsh or impolite, this was'nt intentionaly.

    Again, my understanding is that the last policy you apply is the one that gets enforced. When you assign a policy to a group, and a member of that group had a direct assignment to another policy, the new assignment will overwrite the previous one (and doesn't matter if that was direct or indirect). If you hover the pointer over an user in the MC Publishing tab, you'll see the policy that is in effect for the user, with the date and time that the policy was last published. Keep in mind that only one policy will be applied and enforced at the client at the same time. You can also check the results in the ZSC's about box.
    This is a simple test that can be done in 2 minutes. I'm running latest .154 build on an AD environment.
    Good luck,
    Daniel

  • Can't Remove Ligatures from Document Compiled from Scrivener

    I'm a fiction writer and I use Scrivener as my mainstay writing tool. But I just purchased Pages recently when my copy or Neo Office no longer was compatable with OSX. I just tried opening a story I need to submit and the ligatures for fi and fl were all over the place. I tried going through Format > Font > Ligatures and through the Document Inspector to turn them off. While they Menu and Inspector said they were turned off, they weer still in the document. I tied selecting the word, the paragraph and the whole document and turning them on and off. I've tried compiling as a .doc, .docx, .rtf. Nothing helps. Has anyone come across this? It seems silly to have a remove ligatures option that doesn't remove ligatures.

    Text was all written in Scrivener, compiled into a .doc file. There were no ligatures in the text. When I opened the document in Pages to double check the formatting, I had words like "flailed" now look like "‡ailed." When I tried to remove or turn off the ligatures through the Format menu or the Document Inspector, it wouldn't remove them even though I've told Pages to through those options.

Find out region using functional administatior, statically there is no information on page about "Additional Informations" . This seems its going to add dynamically. • XSL variable-of document name from document library list does not render

    I'm currently building a custom XSL file that is to be linked to a webpart so I can create a custom view. I must say I am new to XSL coding though I have background in html, javascript, php.
    I'm able to render general columns that has been added (from document properties) in the document library I'm pulling data from but cannot seem to figure out how to render out the title. It is a document library so it is to be pulling the name of the document
    added to the library.
    In the aspx, I did try changing all name types (ones with links, without, with edit etc.) but no luck.
    Here is my xsl code so far:
    <xsl:template name="block.rowview">
    <style>
    .sktile{
    width:200px; height:200px; border:#000 solid thin;
    float:left; margin:5px; overflow:hidden

    <div class="sktile">
    <xsl:value-of select="@LinkFilename" />
    <xsl:value-of select="@Description0" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="@Recording_x0020_Date" />
    <xsl:value-of select="@Presenter" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="@Tools" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
    </div>
    </xsl:template>
    And here are the field references:
    <FieldRef Name="LinkFilename"/>
    <FieldRef Name="Recording_x0020_Date"/>
    <FieldRef Name="Presenter"/>
    <FieldRef Name="Tools"/>
    <FieldRef Name="Description0"/>
    So the field I'm struggling to show is the "LinkFilename" It would be great if someone can point out what I'm missing or what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance!

    What are the free softwares to remove watermark from a PDF document ?

    No. The watermark is placed there by the owner of the document. Contact them. If you are perhaps referring to watermarks that appear on scanned documents, you need to purchase the scanning program to remove those. In as much as your information is pretty sparse that's all I can advise you on.

  • Hack the OS to completely remove non-txt information from the Clipboard ?

    Hi,
    I wonder if I can hack the OS somehow to completely disable text formats in the Clipboard. I don't need this feature at all; on the contrary. It's annoying to remove this superfluous information from text clips that I copy from Web pages, RTF / Word documents etc. and adjust the clips to the format in my e-mails, RTF files...
    Someone gave me a Script to do this manually every time I need it, but I don't want RTF data in my Clipboard at all. The only output from copy/pasting ist TEXT.
    Thanks a lot!

    Wow. Can /you/ handle this shortcut?
    I play guitar, but this is by far worse.
    Thanks though!

  • Remove debug information from UWL

    Hello.
    We need to remove the debug information from UWL (under the list of tasks). This debug information contains the next blocks:
    - logged-on user information
    - current view information
    - current navigation information
    - current item information
    Did anyone face this situation? Is it XML-configuration or properties of UWL iView?
    Thank you.

    Hi there,
    You can disable the UWL support information by doing the following:
    (700 + system (so EP7 or higher)
    1. Log on to the portal
    2. Navigate to the following path: system administration   > system
    configuration
    3. In detailed navigation click on the UWL & Workflow folder
    to expand out
    4. Then click on the Universal Worklist Administration link
    5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page:
    Optional Universal Worklist Service Configuration
      Open the Tray for the Optional UWL Service Configuration
    Click on the button to open the tray for the optional UWL service
    configuration
    6. Scroll down again
    7. Go into edit mode
    8. Display Support Information:   Set the parameter to false
    9. Save
    This will remove the detailed information from your UWL Iview.
    If your portal is lower version than 700 you can disable the parameter on the iview itself.  Display support information should be set to false if you do not want to see this detailed information.  However, if you need to troubleshoot UWL issues, this information is very very important :).
    I hope that this information is helpful to you!
