How to call Oracle Procedure into ODI
Hi,
I'm using ODI 10g.
Before executing the interface in a package i wanted to place my Procedure.
I created following procedure in d/b (target)
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TEST_MY_NEW_PROCE
AS
BEGIN
DELETE FROM EMPLOYEE_TABLE
WHERE EMPLOPYEE_ID LIKE 'P%';
COMMIT;
END;
The Procedure is working fine in target database.
Now, before executing my interface i would like to run this procedure in my package. So, can some one please help me how to call this oracle procedure (Created in Target schema) into ODI and run this.
thank you.Hi GRK,
You can create an ODI procedure, add a single step, choose Oracle as Technology and your target schema.
Then just call it through a pl/sql block :
BEGIN
TEST_MY_NEW_PROCE;
END;Then drag this ODI procedure in your package.

Calling Oracle Procedure in Parallel
Is it Possible to call two Oracle Procedures in Parallel.
Begin
call Procedure a;
call Procedure b;
end;
When I will run the above block, I want that Oracle will call the Procedure a and then oracle will not wait for the procedure a to complete, Oracle will call procedure b, The procedure a and b both are called in parallel.
Is it possible ? If possible How ?

Help with calling Oracle Procedure
First, let me state that I'm new to Oracle and using it with
ColdFusion, but I've used CF on and off for the past 6 years. So
this might be a simple "newbie" problem with Oracle and CF.
My boss wrote the following simple Oracle procedure to
concatenate three variables together (I know I could do this in CF
directly, but I need to be able to use his existing procedures in
Oracle)
SPEC:
function ShowCaption(inprecaption in long,
incaption in long,
inpostcaption in long,
method in varchar2,
xcoord in number,
ycoord in number)
return long;
BODY:
function ShowCaption(
inprecaption in long,
incaption in long,
inpostcaption in long,
method in varchar2,
xcoord in number,
ycoord in number)
return long
is
begin
return inprecaption || incaption || inpostcaption;
end ShowCaption;
I'm trying to call that procedure using the attached code but
when I run this code I receive the error "ORA-01008: not all
variables bound" and I'm not sure why. Searching Google hasn't come
up with anything and I've used other procedures, but can't seem to
make this one work. I know the procedure works within Oracle as I'm
able to run it.
I would really appreciate any ideas.Since he wrote his PL/SQL as a FUNCTION instead of a
PROCEDURE, it complicates returning the result to ColdFusion. You
haven't provided any means of capturing the return value of your
function call in your CFSTOREDPROC call. If he had declared this a
procedure, then you probably would have added an OUT parameter to
the PL/SQL and an OUT CFPROCRESULT tag, but since it is a function,
you are going to have to capture the result differently.
Try adding a returncode="yes" parameter to your CFSTOREDPROC
tag, then check the cfstoredproc.statusCode variable for your
returned result value:
<cfoutput>#cfstoredproc.statusCode#</cfoutput>
Normally, I avoid calling Oracle
functions from ColdFusion because in older versions of CF,
there was no way of capturing the return value, so I rarely ever do
it this way. In other words, I strictly write PL/SQL
procedures for use with ColdFusion. However, if you are
required to work with an existing function, then the method
mentioned above may work for you.

Call Oracle procedure with custom data type within Java and Hibernate
I have a custom date TYPE in Oracle
like
CREATE TYPE DATEARRAY AS TABLE OF DATE;
and I have a Oracle function also
like
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION doesContain (list DATEARRAY, val VARCHAR2) RETURN NUMBER
IS
END doesContain;
In my Java class,
I have a collection which contain a list of java.util.Date objects
When I call Oracle function "doesContain", how to pass my java collection to this Oracle function ...
anyone can provide solutions?
Please !!!
Thanks,
PulikkottilVu,
First of all you need to define your types as database types, for example:
create or replace type T_ID as table of number(5)Then you need to use the "oracle.sql.ARRAY" class. You can search this forum's archives for the term "ARRAY" in order to find more details and you can also find some samples via the JDBC Web page at the OTN Web site.
Good Luck,

Hi
You can write SQL*Plus script and put sqlplus in NT scheduler or Unix cron table. The onle problem is that password must present in command line, so you should think how to keep it. Starting of sqlplus can be in .bat file or shell script unvisible for nonauthorized persons.

Calling oracle procedure from ABAP program
There is a requirement to call the oracle stored procedure with some input parameter from ABAP program.
Suppose we have order number which is entered by the user in ABAP program.
This order number needs to be passed to oracle stored procedure as an input parameter in the same ABAP program.
We can call the oracle stored procedure without parameter using the following syntax
exec sql
execute procedure <procedure name>
end exec.
But do not know how to execute the oracle stored procedure with some input parameter?Apologies , following is the correct code.
This will definetly solve your problem.
DATA scarr_carrid TYPE scarr-carrid.
SELECT-OPTIONS s_carrid FOR scarr_carrid NO INTERVALS.
DATA s_carrid_wa LIKE LINE OF s_carrid.
DATA name TYPE c LENGTH 20.
TRY.
EXEC SQL.
CREATE FUNCTION selfunc( input CHAR(3) )
RETURNING char(20);
DEFINE output char(20);
SELECT carrname
INTO output
FROM scarr
WHERE mandt = '000' AND
carrid = input;
RETURN output;
END FUNCTION;
ENDEXEC.
LOOP AT s_carrid INTO s_carrid_wa
WHERE sign = 'I' AND option = 'EQ'.
TRY.
EXEC SQL.
EXECUTE PROCEDURE selfunc( IN :s_carrid_wa-low,
OUT :name )
ENDEXEC.
WRITE: / s_carrid_wa-low, name.
CATCH cx_sy_native_sql_error.
MESSAGE `Error in procedure execution` TYPE 'I'.
ENDTRY.
ENDLOOP.
EXEC SQL.
DROP FUNCTION selfunc;
ENDEXEC.
CATCH cx_sy_native_sql_error.
MESSAGE `Error in procedure handling` TYPE 'I'.
ENDTRY.
Reward points if usefull.

Calling oracle procedure from batch script
i have a .bat file, in which i am using sqlldr to load into a staging table from csv file, and then using merge to insert / update into target table
i have 2 doubts
1) my first doubt is regarding batch script..how to handle the errorlevels which are greater than 1?
so generally speaking, how do i handle all the errors at once..and make sure the control goes to
run_sqlldr0 always? and handle the error meaningfully if its other than 0 ?
below is my batch script, and i get error
goto run_sqlldr2
the system cannot find the batch label specified - run_sqlldr2
@echo on
call oraenv.bat
if not exist %mainpath% goto mainpath_def
if not exist %scripts% goto scriptspath_def
if not exist %logs% goto logspath_def
if not exist %data% goto datapath_def
goto x1
:x1
goto run_sqlldr%ERRORLEVEL%
echo run_sqlldr%ERRORLEVEL%
if run_sqlldr%ERRORLEVEL% NEQ 0 goto run_sqlldr1
echo "entering sqlldr"
:run_sqlldr1
echo "entered sqlldr1"
echo "some error"
echo mergedata%ERRORLEVEL%
:run_sqlldr0
echo "entered sqlldr0"

echo "Data path not existing as specified %data%, Please edit ORAENV with correct value"

2) my second doubt, is this the right way of calling the stored procedures merge_stg and clean_stg?
in clean_stg, i use dynamic sql to truncate the staging table
create or replace procedure trunstg is
lsql varchar2(2000) := 'truncate table stg_ldrtest';
begin
execute immediate lsql;
end;
/i have changed the code

echo "entered cleandata1"
echo "cleaning error"
goto end
:cleandata0

echo "Logs path not existing as specified %logs%, Please edit ORAENV with correct value"
goto exit
:datapath_def
echo "Data path not existing as specified %data%, Please edit ORAENV with correct value"
goto exit
:end
EXIT
so the error is ORA - 30926, unable to get a stable set of
rows in the source tables
my merge is

Registered name during call does not appear
Hi to all!
Kindly help me in this problem.
I got this problem since I started using my BB curve 9300. My sister bought this in UK but Im using it right now here in the Philippines. Most of the time, when my friend is calling me, his/her name does not appear in my screen while its ringing. So everytime someone is calling, i think it's somebody else. But when I checked my phone history, my friend's name was registered.
Pls. help meHello !
In that case kindly update your contact list with the Country Code as well, because previously you were using your device in U.K and now in Philippines, so the only difference is due to International Dial Country code because of which your device is unable to recognise the name.
Kindly edit accordingly.
Hope this resolves your Problem!
