Removing Windows Components and controlling start location

I'm wanting to do a interactive application that is fullscreen across two monitors. I know that invoking the normal fullscreen procedure will defult the the fullscreen to only the main monitor. I was wondering if there was a way around this. Like, if I removed the windows borders and flash toolbar from the application, set the initial window location to start at (0,0) and then set the stage size to the resolution of the two monitors horizontal resollution compined. Is that possible, and if so what the things(terms, methods) I new to start looking at.
Thanks,
Joe

You cannot do that with browser or projector (unless you use a third party projector) but you can with AIR. There was a discussion about this so if you search the archive you should be able to find it

Assuming you installed Windows in a Boot Camp partition, start up Boot Camp Assistant and select the menu item to remove Windows and return the drive to a single partition. Then run Boot Camp Assistant and select the menu item to install Windows 7.

  • Safe to remove Windows 7 and install XP instead?

    Hi,
I've been thinking about something recently; I probably won't do this until a while, but for now, it's just an idea.  I'm using Linux Ubuntu on my Lenovo Thinkpad E420, and it really work like a dream.  I use Windows 7 way less, and I only keep it for a few reasons.
I find it too bad that Windows 7 use so much disk space, however!  20GB for the system alone, in fact (For Ubuntu, it's 4.5GB, with all the softwares).  I'm sure Windows XP will do the same job that Windows 7, even running a specific game that wouldn't work under Seven.
I know you're all wondering why would I use Windows XP when his support is ending in 2 years?  Well, instead of using 20GB, the system will use only 1.5GB.  That's 18.5 GB of Extra for Ubuntu.  It also demand way less ressources than Windows 7.  I do not plan on browsing on Windows XP, I'll do this in Ubuntu.  Simply put, the only stuff I'm going to do on XP are:
    - Playing a few games (The most recent game being 2007);
    - Using Adobe Creative Suite CS5 (Along with Adobe Premiere and AfterEffect CS4, maybe);
    - Maybe using Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 (Run well in Ubuntu using Wine);
I know a lot of people still using Adobe Creative Suite CS3 while CS6 is out, so I don't see the problem of still using CS5 even when CS8 will be released.  And CS6 is supported for XP as well (Except for Premiere and AfterEffect).
The only disadvantage I could think of is that Windows XP x64 would manage only 2 of my 4 CPUs..  Will this be noticeable on performances?
So I was wondering about this, will it be safe to remove Windows 7 and install XP x64 instead?  Did the 1GB "System_DRV" partition still be necessary?
I am also aware that installing XP will erase GRUB bootloader for Linux, but I know the way to restore it.  I also burned my recovery DVDs from Windows 7.
    Thanks for your advice!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've been doing some ressearch, and I found out that as much odd as it seems, Windows Server 2003 would be a better choice.  Because the 32-Bit version would be able to manage my 8GB of RAM and my 4 CPUs without problem, unlike XP.  I also thought that Server 2003 would use less battery than XP.
So I created another NTFS partition to install Server 2003, check if this work before removing Windows 7 !
To make the setup boot proprely, I had to set the hard-disk to "Compatibility Mode" in the BIOS, otherwise I would get a BSOD (Same for XP).
The first part of the setup was successful, the files were correctly copied to the Windows 2003 partition I chose.  Then my laptop rebooted, and Server 2003 got.. confused.  Server 2003 would have proceeded to the second part of the installation, but booted from the first partition used by Windows 7.
As I was expecting, Windows Server 2003 deleted Windows 7 bootloader as well as GRUB for Linux.
I succesfully restored Windows 7 bootloader, and I am able to boot to Linux using my CD of GRUB.  I'm now going to restore GRUB, but something unexpected happened.
For some reason, GParted - the partition editor for Linux - wouldn't see anymore partition.  I'll have to check how to fix this on the Ubuntu Forums.  The partitions are still there, just no more visible by GParted - There are visible by Windows 7 and my GRUB CD, however.
There's something else I would like to understand as well; Windows Server 2003 randomly messed up something else: The files got copied in the right partition, but why did it randomly deleted my Lenovo_Recovery partition (Which was the last on the disk)?  Is there a reason for that?
So here's the main question of my post: is there a way to recover this partition?  It's not visible by Windows 7, not by GRUB as well.  Why was this partition used for, exactly?
I should mention that I still have my recovery DVDs I burned from Windows 7.  Was this partition still required?
    Thanks for the reply.
I think I'll have to stick with Windows 7, then. XD  In fact, I'm "lucky" Server 2003 haven't deleted anything else (I do have a full image of Linux).

  • Remove Windows 8 and Windows 7 INSTALLING in L4070 notebook LNV

    Hello
Bought a notebook model LNV L40-70 with Windows 8 makes.
It is for business use and the programs that use the company does not run very well on Windows 8 and for that reason need to install Windows 7 on the notebook.
The problem is that the bios does not show any option to disable the UEFI mode is therefore impossible to boot with the Windows 7 disc.
Have any solution for this problem such as updating bios or some other procedure to uninstall Windows 8 and install Windows 7?
    Thank you.

This was seriously your answer???  EA says the same thing.  Their product works on all other operating systems other than Windows 8 and 8.1.  Honestly with all of the incompatibilities you guys have created with Windows 8 & 8.1 you guys
have a lot of gall to tell people to check with the product developers when their products worked fine before you guys updated to Windows 8 and 8.1.  Wow, Microsoft's level of support is astoundingly lacking.  Amazing.

  • Portege R30-A-137 - Removing Windows 8 and installing Windows 7

    Hello,
I have a Portege R30-A-137 notebook with Windows 8 installed and need to remove w8 and install Windows 7.
According to documentation, computer has a preinstalled Windows 7 version, but i dont know howto install it.
I only have windows 8 restoration disks.
Saving preinstalled operating system on usb and booting computer with it, only reinstall win 8.
Is there any way to install preinstalled windows 7 on this computer ?
    Thanks in advance.
    JoSerra

I guess you mixed up some important facts:
The notebook Portege R30-A-137 is preinstalled Win 7 64bit Professional. You dont need to install this OS again if its installed!!!
The additional Win 8.1 Pro DVD was supplied with the notebook.
The Win 7 64bit is installed but there is NO disk/medium.
Therefore its recommended to create the Toshiba Recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Medium Creator software.
This recovery disk can be used in case you changed the system for example to Win 8.1 and want to switch back to Win 7.
This was mentioned in user manual!

  • Windows 7 and Virtual App locations?

We have quite a few virtual apps here, and the process I've been using is to
    -create a folder c:\Program Files\Vx
-Copy the <virtualapp>.exe to this folder
    -execute the <virtualapp>.exe
This is so laptops can use the apps when away from our network.
We are finding that on Windows 7 (64 bit) some apps are not starting from this folder properly, while others are. I'm reading all sorts of things about the C:\Program Files folder on Win7, not pretty.
My question is, where to you store your ZAV executables locally? Or is there a way to let ZCM push them down, cache them, so they can be run when offline?
    Appreciate any thoughts.

In my experience most customers place virtual apps in a folder on the root of c:, such as c:\vapps and often make this a hidden folder. In terms of execution is makes no difference but you may run into issues with x64 Win7 when using PROGRAMFILES.

  • Create a new Mail Folder in Outlook 2011 and control its location?

    Hello,
I want to create a new mail folder in Outlook in a location of my choosing (from dialogue box)
After selecting the location, the user would get a dialog box that asks for the users initials (i.e CY)
A second dialog box would ask for the name of the new folder.
Clicking "ok" would create a new folder in outlook that looks like this:
       20131107-TECH-CY-MyFolderName
A new dialog box then prompts for a location on the Mac where a similarly named folder should be created.
Clicking "OK" uses the finder to create this folder.
    Many thanks for any help!

Does anyone know how to summon a dialog box in Outlook 2011 for Mac using Applescript??

  • Exchange 2007 - enabling RPC over HTTP in add/remove windows components

Does adding this component require a reboot or interrupt Exchange functionality?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, there is no need to reboot the Exchange server 2007 when you install the Windows RPC over HTTP Proxy component.
What's more, here is an article for your reference.

  • How to remove "Most Visited" and "Getting Started"

These two items recently appeared under the search tool bar. Don't want either of them

    * "Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" and "Recent Tags" are examples of so called [[Smart Bookmarks folders|Smart Bookmarks folders]] and are not real existing folders.
    * Smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores bookmarks and history in Firefox.
    * Smart folder lists show a maximum of 10 entries by default.
    * Bookmarks and history items that show up in a smart folder list are stored elsewhere in another folder and any changes made are applied to the real bookmark or history item.

  • HELP! In middle of upgrade to windows 8 and keyboard/trackpad stopped working!

Hey all, new mac user here. Just bought a new macbook air 13" 2014 model. I succedded in installing windows 7 via bootcamp via a usb drive and was in the middle of installing a downloadable windows 8 upgrade (at a preferences page when they ask you to select your favorite color) when my macbook's keyboard/trackpad stopped functioning. I plugged in a usb mouse and that would not work either. I have absolutely no clue as to what to do next. If I had to install some driver or thing please tell me how to cancel the windows 8 install and return to windows 7. Thanks for all your help strangers

I was not able to find any drivers specifically for the web cam. I did find software to use the camera, but that was all I could find.
However, I do have a question about the Windows 8 upgrade process that was used.
Did you do an in-place upgrade or a clean install of Windows 8?
Go back to device manager. Is there anything here at all in an other category indicating it is having some type of an issue?
There are certain events that will need to happen.
Go to the start screen and search for uninstall a program. Select this option in the settings category.
This should take you to the Desktop app and show the familiar uninstall a program feature from Windows 7.
Select add/remove Windows Components on the left.
Is Framework 3.5 checked here? If not, enable this and install it.
Then, install the HP framework which is needed for some HP programs. This is a Windows 7 installation, but it should go through.

Once that is finished, reboot the system.
    Let me know what happens.

  • Re: How to repair Windows components?

How to repair individual Windows components without format & reinstalling the whole OS?
    Here OS is Vista

    Hi!
I think you should give us a little bit more details like your notebook model.
And you should say what components you mean exactly.
This is not very clear what you posted.
Look in the control panel and Add/Remove programs. There you change Windows components and remove the software.
