I have searched the board but couldnt find an answer. I hope someone here can help me. My problem is as such, whenever I create a custom icon for my .exe, the icon for the .exe file remains as the default labview icon but title bar icon for the program changes. How do I make sure that the icon for .exe file changes aswell. I already created a .ico file and i'm running labview 8.5.
Thanks.Your .ico file should also include a 16x16 32 colors icon (or 16 colors, I don't remember) and that will be used for the window title. Personally, I use IcoFX for creating icons, which is free, but I assume that the icon editor in 8.x can allow you to do this as well.

The reason I did not respond was that I don't think that your answer solves the question of top level containers (specifically JFrame). I have been researching the net and some of the text books to come up with an answer before I respond. To this point, I believe that the answer has something to do with changing the boundary. If this is the case I'm within four or five hours of the solution, and will publish. If not, back to the drawing board. -

How to set an icon in title bar and minimized window
I would like to set my own icon in the title bar and in the minimized window of my java application, replacing the java coffee cup icon.
I am using:

This does create the icon in both places. However, it only works when I run the program from JBuilder 2006. It doesn't work if I run the program from the .jar or the .exe file.
How can I make it work for my .jar and .exe file?

Add maximumsize icon to title bar in JDialog
My question is how to add a maximumsize icon to the title bar of JDialog, i want to create a dialog that when user double-click the JDialog's title bar or click the maximumsize icon in the JDialog's title bar the dialog can be displayed as maximum size. it just likes Frame.

I can think of 2 approaches, firstly and probably the most easiest is to use a frame to mimic the behaviour of the dialog.
Secondly, implement your own L&F for dialogs by wrting your own RootPaneUI that uses your own version of TitlePane. The TitlePane class will take care of the buttons and mouse handling. Have a look at BasicRootPaneUI to get a better understanding of the implementation ;)

Does anyone know how to remove or change the Icon on the left hand side of
the title bar?When building an application using labviews app builder, click on the App
settings tab and click the custom icon checkbox. Then point to an ico file
that contains both a 32x32 and a 16x16 icon. Labview will do the rest.
Icon editors are all over the web. Try looking at www.tucows.com or somewhere
similar.

Disable close icon on title bar
Is it possible to disable the close icon on the title bar (right hand corner) in a swing window?

frameNameHere.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE);
There is also the option to take away the "window-frame" alltogether with:
frameNameHere.setUndecorated(true);
Though if you do that you should probably use the "DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE" anyway, since otherwise it can still be closed with Alt F4 for instance. -

Cannot double click an icon or title bar
i have just noticed since the last os update for snow leopard that when i double click the icon or the title bar nothing happens, whereas before i used to be able to either open a folder or an application, or minimize something with a double click. If anybody has ideas about what is going on, please write. Right now i can only open things up in secondary button mode, in the dock or the menu bar. thanks

Firefox opens and I see a title bar but the main window content is not refreshed or loaded
I installed Firefox 4.0 and it installed fine. When I run it, the window opens with the title bar and borders but the inside content pane is blank. The only option I have it to close it.
If I uninstall 4.0 and reinstall the latest 3.x release, it works fine. I've removed all of the 3rd party add ons but am still having this issue.I think I found the problem. I have 3 monitors, my primary monitor is connected through an external USB video card (Sabrenet Viewmax) using DisplayLink drivers. When I move the Firefox browser window over to the laptop monitor or to the monitor that is connected through the laptop's VGA port, Firefox works as expected. Is this a driver issue? a Firefox issue? As a side note, one of my Microsoft apps is having the same exact issue, Microsoft Visual Studio Web Developer Express.

Macs use OS X, which is an operating system different than Windows. EXE files are designed to work in Windows, so it's normal that you can't run them.
If it's a program, you can try an application like CrossOver that allows you to install Windows applications in OS X. However, note that it doesn't always work correctly, so the best option is to run Windows in your Mac.

Hi, I created several .exe files to run standalone courses. Only the first 7 characters of the title is dispalying along the top of the simulation. For example, the title of this topic is Topic 6.1 Creating Projects, the next is Topic 6.2 The Project Menu. I need to display the full topic at the top of the page. I can't find a setting for this or what this title is referred to in Captivate.

This did not work for the selected item, though I verified it does work for others. Currently, my login items are:
Dashboard Kickstart (makes the dashboard start more quickly), Allbookmarks (a list of bookmarks), Airprot Base Station Agent, LazyMouse (makes cursor return to the dialog box), HotApp (programs F-keys), and MainMenu (diagnostics).
Even after reboot, the Eject desktop item is still there. -

In order to read a ZIP you need a AS3 ZIP Library by David Chang:
