Render xml and html content type in single jsp

I have 2 jsps, one jsp(a.jsp) is throwing content-type as HTML and other JSP(b.jsp) is throwing content-type as xml. I am making use of xsl to render the xml content in html format. But the problem is that i want to include b.jsp in a.jsp, and when i do so b.jsp doesn't make use of xsl for its rendering rather it displays the contents haphazardly.
Plese help if somebody knows the solution.

Below the following line ..
<html:form action="addContact">Add this new form field..
<html:hidden name="flag" value="0"/>Needless to say that this String variable flag should be defined in your ActionForm.
Next, instead of ...
<html:submit property="parameter"><bean:message key="ok.company" /></html:submit>Put this ...
<input type="button" name="xyz" onClick="callSubmit(1);" value='<bean:message key="ok.company" />'>Then add a JS function as below ...
<script>
function callSubmit(flg)
     document.forms[0].flag.value=flg;
     document.forms[0].submit();
</script>Finally in your ActionServlet, you need to find the value of the ActionForm variable flag via request.getParameter("flag").
In case the value is set to 1, then it means that you need to send the particular row to DB. You may add additional flag values to correctly identify theparticular row which you may want to send to DB.
Hope you got it.

  • Mixing static and dynamic content in a single outputText value causes NPEs

    Hi,
    I am having a problem and I'm wondering if it is a result of my error or if this is a bug.
    I am mixing dynamic and static content in the value attribute of tags (e.g., outputText). On initial page load, everything works fine. However, if the same view is reloaded (e.g., after a failed validation) I get an NPE from JSF:

    <h:outputText escape="false"
              value='<link href="#{myBean.styleSheet}" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"  />' />If I replace this with a much more convoluted set of tags, it works:
    <h:outputText escape="false"
              value='<link href="' /><h:outputText escape="false" value="#{myBean.styleSheet}"
              /><h:outputText escape="false" value='" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />' />So is the problem that I am mixing dynamic and static content with a single value? If so, why does it work on the first view, and not after?
    If it matters, I'm using the reference implementation version 1.1 (as included with NetBeans 5.5RC2) on SuSE 10.0 w/ JDK 1.5_09.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Yes, that's how I originally had it, but then changed it to the outputText approach since a single tag could do what I wanted, as long as I was allowed to mix static and dynamic content within a single value.
    I think this is a bug in JSF 1.1, since if what I am doing is illegal, it should throw an exception on the first page view, not work on first view and throw an exception on subsequent views. I'm guessing that this has something to do with the fact that on first page view it only runs the restore view and render response JSF phases, while on subsequent requests all of the phases will be run, and it's in one of those other phases that the exception is thrown.
    For now, multiple tags is the work-around, I guess.
    Thanks,
    Bill

  • How to programmatically create a site column and a content type

    Hello,
    I'd like to create a site column (let's say a field text) and a content type, only  using c#  -i.e. I don't want to add new item/column and then xml. This code will be added to a FeatureActivated.My code is :
    public override void FeatureActivated(SPFeatureReceiverProperties properties) {SPWeb rootweb = (SPWeb) properties.Feature.Parent;
    SPFieldText field = new SPFieldText(SPfiledscollection???, "field1");
    if (field != null)
    rootweb.Fields.Add(field)
    rootweb.Update();
    }   SPContentType newContentType = new SPContentType(spcntenttypeId??, SPContentTypeCollection ??, "content1");
       rootweb.ContentTypes.Add(newContentType);
       rootweb.Update();
    Are there any sample codes out there? I've only found samples using xml - which has an irritating "feature"
    Thank you
    Christos

    Nice code and it helped me understand. Some small questions. I'm trying to make all the "data" for a (sub)web site.
    So, I think, my steps are:
    1. create site columns+content type
    2. create  list
    3. create a lookup site column that uses the list on <2>
    4. create content type that uses the site column on <3>
    5. Create the list for the content type on <4>
    My confusion is: should I use one feature for everything? Your code is using scope=site, so i need to "hardcode" the web site's name. I don't mind doing that , I just don't know how to use scopes in features for creating data.
    Thank you
    Christos

  • Apex_web_service.make_rest_request: Passing parameters and the content type

    Not sure if I am missing something, but should this API be setting the content type (to application/x-www-url-formencoded) when there are values present for the parameters p_parm_name and p_parm_value.
    The example in the docs is to a yahoo API. I'm not sure about that particular one (see: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_web_service.htm#BABEDJHJ), and I think it requires an appid (yahoo account), so i just went with the example here:
    http://developer.yahoo.com/yql/guide/yql-code-examples.html#yql_php
    If I run the following from a html file on my desktop it works:
    <form method="POST" action="http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql">
    <input type="hidden" name="q" value="select * from upcoming.events where location='San Francisco' and search_text='dance'"></input>
    <input type="hidden" name="format" value="json"></input>
    <input type="submit"></input>
    </form>That is, it returns a JSON result.
    The raw HTTP data is as follows:
    POST http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql HTTP/1.1
    Host: query.yahooapis.com
    Connection: keep-alive
    Content-Length: 110
    Cache-Control: max-age=0
    Origin: null
    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/536.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu/12.04 Chromium/20.0.1132.47 Chrome/20.0.1132.47 Safari/536.11
    Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
    Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8
    Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate,sdch
    Accept-Language: en-AU,en;q=0.8,en-US;q=0.6
    Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3
    q=select+fromupcoming.events+where+location%3D%27San+Francisco%27+and+search_text%3D%27dance%27&format=json>
    However, running the following returns nothing: (nothing, as in nothing that depends on the parameters passed in)
    set serveroutput on
    declare
    l_c CLOB;
    begin
      l_c := apex_web_service.make_rest_request(
        p_url => 'http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql',
        p_http_method => 'POST',
        p_parm_name => apex_util.string_to_table('q:format'),
        p_parm_value => apex_util.string_to_table('select * from upcoming.events where location=''San Francisco'' and search_text=''dance'':json'),
        p_proxy_override => 'http://192.168.1.3:8888');
      dbms_output.put_line(substr(l_c, 1, 4000));
    end;Raw HTTP data:
    POST http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql HTTP/1.1
    Host: query.yahooapis.com
    Connection: Keep-Alive
    Content-Length: 106
    Connection: close
    q=select+%2A+from+upcoming%2Eevents+where+location%3D'San+Francisco'+and+search_text%3D'dance'&format=json>
    I do note a key difference is that content type isn't being set in the web service API.
    This was just to test a public service. I do note that the above has slighty different request data (percentage encoding on some chars). However, I experienced the same behaviour on a procedure I had written (I can also provide this example test case if you like), which is where I first noticed the issue.
    Using utl_http and setting the content type to application/x-www-url-formencoded, does resolve the issue. However, just thought i'd see the possibility of using the Web service API that is made available.
    Is the example in the docs valid, or am I missing something obvious?
    This is on ApEx 4.1 on the OTN Dev Days VM.
    Thoughts?

    Hi trent,
    I too have had issues with this API , so moved forward with UTL_HTTP API.
    There is something amiss.
    If you change your code to the one below it works.
    SET SERVEROUT ON
    declare
    l_c CLOB;
    l_param varchar2(1000) ;
    begin
    l_param := 'select * from upcoming.events where location=''San Francisco'' '||
            ' and search_text=''dance'''||'&'||'format=json';
    l_c := apex_web_service.make_rest_request(
        p_url => 'http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q='||
            utl_url.escape(l_param)
        ,p_http_method => 'POST'
      dbms_output.put_line(substr(l_c, 1, 4000));
    end;
    /Note the use of UTL_URL.ESCAPE. The call does not work without it.
    I do not use a proxy, so that parameter does not feature in my snippet above.
    Cheers,
    PS: However, the below does not work. So, it appears that the p_parm_name and p_parm_value do not quite work.
    SET SERVEROUT ON;
    declare
    l_c CLOB;
    l_param varchar2(1000) ;
    begin
    l_param := 'select * from upcoming.events where location=''San Francisco'' and search_text=''dance''';
    l_c := apex_web_service.make_rest_request(
        p_url => 'http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql'
        ,p_http_method => 'POST'
        ,p_parm_name => apex_util.string_to_table('q:format')
        ,p_parm_value => apex_util.string_to_table(utl_url.escape(l_param)||':json')
      dbms_output.put_line(substr(l_c, 1, 4000));
    end;

  • Problem: FlashPlayer 10.1 XML and HTML-Entity Rendering problem

    Hi,
    I have some problems using
    childNode[0].nodeValue
    and HTML Entities since updating my FlashPlayer from version 10.0 to 10.1
    First some information about my system:
    FlashPlayer: WIN 10,1,53,64
    OS: WinXP (32bit)
    Browser: Firefox 3.6.6; IE 7.0.5730.13
    I am handling XML data which contains for example some HTML Entities like "&lt;" or "&gt;". A XML-Parser reads the nodeValue and puts the text into a HTML enabled textfield. Now FlashPlayer Version 10.1 does not display the text after "&lt".
    For example the following text in XML:
    <![CDATA[<ul><li>pressure &lt; 250bar</li>
    is rendered as "pressure". Debugging the application shows, that after getting the Text with
    childNode[0].nodeValue
    returns "pressure < 25bar" so HTML textfield interprets the "<" as a HTML Tag.
    Possible Workaround: Using
    <![CDATA[<ul><li>pressure %30C; 250bar</li>
    and replacing it after reading the nodeValue with "&lt;" solves the problem.
    Ist there any other solution without changing my XML Contents? Can I tell Flash or my XMLParser that HTML Tags must not be replaced?
    Thank's for any idea and help.

    Investigate the problem, but did not become easier.
    When calling external function used method "<invoke name="function" returntype="xml"><arguments><string>.....</string></arguments></invoke>" flashplayer remove from string value tag "CDATA".
    This is as in 10.0 player so and in 10.1.
    But after install 10.1 version string exposed decoding. All escape symbols convert to real char data.
    Example:
    "and WELL-FORMED&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/font&gt; HTML"
    =>
    "and WELL-FORMED</b></font> HTML"
    So as CDATA deleted is abnormal decoding XML data in the AS code.
    Who ever can help overcome this unnecessary effect?

  • PDF output does not refresh data in BI Publisher, XML and HTML do refresh

    I just upgraded to BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0 and I noticed that the PDF format of the reports does not reflect recent changes in data, while XML data and HTML output do reflect changes in data immediately.
    I'm using BI Publisher to print APEX applications reports. When I change some data in APEX forms, I click again in the Print button and the data remains unchanged. I made some testing inside Oracle BI Publisher, and noticed that XML data and HTML output do reflect changes, but PDF output remains with the old data for some unknown amount of time. I cannot identify a method to force the PDF to refresh, just un-log and log in again several times until the data appears updated. This is serious because when users change data and print again, they expect the changes to be reflected in the new printable report, and may not notice that the data is the old version.
    OS is Oracle Enterprise Linux.
    Any help on this will be very welcome.

  • Versioning and Video Content type does not work.

    Hello,
    I have out of the box sharepoint installed.
    When I apply versioning to a library. And try to see "Document set version history" (as I suggest Video content type actually inherits from Document Set). I don't see any version.
    Can you tell me how can i see versions of the "Video" content type item in this Version History window?

    Document set versions are slightly different than item versions. Document sets can be managed by a separate ribbon tab called Document Set and group called Manage.

    Hi,

    I am tryng to migrate a web application created in Java using servlets. In Java the solution was the use of regular expressions to convert the stored <b>a href</b> tag to a valid url.
    Here is my Java code:
    -- some code
            s=processHtmlTags(s,
                "<a href = \"([0-9_].*?)\">",
                "<a href=\"" + dm.response.encodeURL("ResultDetail") + "?codact=",
                "\">");-- rest of servlet
    -- the processHtmlTags definition
        public String processHtmlTags(String INPUT, String REGEX, String strHead, String strTail) {
            int cnt=0;
            String strOutput;
            Pattern pattern;
            Vector group0 = new Vector(5);
            Vector group1 = new Vector(5);
            try {
                pattern = java.util.regex.Pattern.compile(REGEX);
                matcher = pattern.matcher(INPUT);
            catch(java.util.regex.PatternSyntaxException pse) {
            while (matcher.find()) {
                group0.addElement(matcher.group(0));
                group1.addElement(matcher.group(1));
                cnt++;
            strOutput=INPUT;
            for(int i=0; i<group0.size(); i++) {
                String s0=(String)group0.elementAt(i);
                String s1=(String)group1.elementAt(i);
                strOutput=strOutput.replaceAll(s0,strHead+strAnchor(s1)+strTail);
            return strOutput;
        }The question is can I do the same thing using APEX?
    Thanks,
    Catalin Florean.

    Use the REGEXP_REPLACE function available in 10g.
    That also implies switching from an HTML region to a PL/SQL region.

  • How to customise and navigate Content Type - SharePoint 2013 List

    I need some advice here. I'm customizing forms that have list built using Content Types. I noticed the difference in the links is something like this below I have one default content list type called item and the other one is called College Form
    Item is ContentTypeId=0x01003FF12EB7EAB88340BEE53D34C38A906200147E508F34B9164ABE555FF698569C27
    College Form is ContentTypeId=0x01003FF12EB7EAB88340BEE53D34C38A906200147E508F34B9164ABE555FF698569C27
    When doing my customization of the form I would like to hide some fields and show some based on the content type. I know by default the content type does that. But im using JS to hide some fields but don't know how i can do this or what values to use to
    make this happen.
    Any ideas and thanks in advance

    WPQ2FormCtx.ItemContentTypeId will give the content type ID of the item in each of the forms newform.aspx, ediform.aspx and displayform.aspx. You can also use WPQ2FormCtx.ItemContentTypeName, if you want to compare name instead of Id. Here is a JQuery
    code to hide fields in the forms:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
        if(WPQ2FormCtx.ItemContentTypeId == '0x010400C36D463A4788AD4AAF5F85C02DA29F8E') {
        $("h3.ms-standardheader:contains('Body')").closest("tr").hide();
    </script>
    Note that this script assumes the JQuery is already referenced in the site. You can place above code in Script Editor web part in each of the forms.
    Also, beware that this way you can hide the field from UI, but user can still open the page source and find the actual information in the hidden field.
    If the requirement is to completely hide the field data then you will need to set the field properties like showInEditForm, showInDisplayForm and showInNewForm

  • Transfer reusable workflow and maintain content type

    I need to transfer a 2010 reusable Workflow from the test to the production environment. I create the workflow with SharePoint Designer 2013, and I select a specific content type. After having imported it in the new environment, I can't set a specific Content
    Type (the only option for Content Type is "ALL").
    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hi,
    As I understand, you would like to migrate a reusable workflow to another farm, please try the methods below:
    1.Copy and Modify the reusable workflow in production envrionment, try if you could associate a new content type to it.
    2.If it doesn't work, save the original workflow in test environment as a template, then move to production envrionment:

  • Parsing XML and HTML

    Is there any way to parse a XML file and covert it to a result set using SQL and PLSQL?

    Yes. Oracle SQL and PL/SQL can use the Oracle supplied XML Parser to create XML and to extract attributes and rows from XML.

  • Writing Html Content into PDF using JSP

    Dear All,
    I am using JSP to generate Employee payslip dynamically. Presently i am diplaying payslip as on-screen display.
    Here i want to give option "Save as PDF". I am able to create PDF file using IText Libraries. i want to integrate HTML code into the PDF file.
    Writing HTML Content (using HTML Tags) into PDF.

    Well it is a difficult ask and i believe we are trying to re-invent the wheel
    Just to make my life simple i could have choosen either sample API given below to serve my cause
    1).[http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/] (Apache FOP one can simply write an XSL template of their and then substitute the values from respective DTO's by using XSL - XML transformations and can generate content in different formats which includes PDF aswell)
    2).[http://jasperforge.org/plugins/project/project_home.php?group_id=102] (Just design a simple report template using iReport and create a jrxml files and write a small code snipett such that you can pass few details at the runtime and can export the report in different formats which includes PDF aswell)
    3).[http://www.object-refinery.com/jfreereport/] (Is much similar to what jasper offers in order to compile these you can either use pentaho product IDE or BEA/Oracle Actuate report tools)
    You can simply try searching for different examples for getting more help on using the respective API's
    Hope that helps :)

    Basically:
        try{
          //Setting up parameters.
          xml=new StreamSource(new File(xmlInput));
          xsl=new StreamSource(new File(xslInput));
          baos=new ByteArrayOutputStream();
          htmlResult=new StreamResult(baos);
          //Transform input(xml, xsl) onto html output.
          TransformerFactory tfactory=TransformerFactory.newInstance();
          Transformer transformer=tfactory.newTransformer(xsl);
          transformer.transform(xml, htmlResult);
          baos.writeTo(out);
          //System.err.println(htmlResult.getOutputStream().toString());
        catch(...){
        }I havent tested and I havent use this for a while, but I hope this can serve as a staring point.
