Problem: FlashPlayer 10.1 XML and HTML-Entity Rendering problem

Hi,
I have some problems using
childNode[0].nodeValue
and HTML Entities since updating my FlashPlayer from version 10.0 to 10.1
First some information about my system:
FlashPlayer: WIN 10,1,53,64
OS: WinXP (32bit)
Browser: Firefox 3.6.6; IE 7.0.5730.13
I am handling XML data which contains for example some HTML Entities like "<" or ">". A XML-Parser reads the nodeValue and puts the text into a HTML enabled textfield. Now FlashPlayer Version 10.1 does not display the text after "&lt".
For example the following text in XML:
<![CDATA[<ul><li>pressure &lt; 250bar</li>
is rendered as "pressure". Debugging the application shows, that after getting the Text with
childNode[0].nodeValue
returns "pressure < 25bar" so HTML textfield interprets the "<" as a HTML Tag.
Possible Workaround: Using
<![CDATA[<ul><li>pressure %30C; 250bar</li>
and replacing it after reading the nodeValue with "&lt;" solves the problem.
Ist there any other solution without changing my XML Contents? Can I tell Flash or my XMLParser that HTML Tags must not be replaced?
Thank's for any idea and help.

Investigate the problem, but did not become easier.
When calling external function used method "<invoke name="function" returntype="xml"><arguments><string>.....</string></arguments></invoke>" flashplayer remove from string value tag "CDATA".
This is as in 10.0 player so and in 10.1.
But after install 10.1 version string exposed decoding. All escape symbols convert to real char data.
Example:
"and WELL-FORMED&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/font&gt; HTML"
=>
"and WELL-FORMED</b></font> HTML"
So as CDATA deleted is abnormal decoding XML data in the AS code.
Who ever can help overcome this unnecessary effect?

  • PDF output does not refresh data in BI Publisher, XML and HTML do refresh

    I just upgraded to BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0 and I noticed that the PDF format of the reports does not reflect recent changes in data, while XML data and HTML output do reflect changes in data immediately.
    I'm using BI Publisher to print APEX applications reports. When I change some data in APEX forms, I click again in the Print button and the data remains unchanged. I made some testing inside Oracle BI Publisher, and noticed that XML data and HTML output do reflect changes, but PDF output remains with the old data for some unknown amount of time. I cannot identify a method to force the PDF to refresh, just un-log and log in again several times until the data appears updated. This is serious because when users change data and print again, they expect the changes to be reflected in the new printable report, and may not notice that the data is the old version.
    OS is Oracle Enterprise Linux.
    Any help on this will be very welcome.

  • Parsing XML and HTML

    Is there any way to parse a XML file and covert it to a result set using SQL and PLSQL?

    Yes. Oracle SQL and PL/SQL can use the Oracle supplied XML Parser to create XML and to extract attributes and rows from XML.

But the problem is that i want to include b.jsp in a.jsp, and when i do so b.jsp doesn't make use of xsl for its rendering rather it displays the contents haphazardly.
    Plese help if somebody knows the solution.

    Below the following line ..
    <html:form action="addContact">Add this new form field..
    <html:hidden name="flag" value="0"/>Needless to say that this String variable flag should be defined in your ActionForm.
    Next, instead of ...
    <html:submit property="parameter"><bean:message key="ok.company" /></html:submit>Put this ...
    <input type="button" name="xyz" onClick="callSubmit(1);" value='<bean:message key="ok.company" />'>Then add a JS function as below ...
    <script>
    function callSubmit(flg)
         document.forms[0].flag.value=flg;
         document.forms[0].submit();
    </script>Finally in your ActionServlet, you need to find the value of the ActionForm variable flag via request.getParameter("flag").
    In case the value is set to 1, then it means that you need to send the particular row to DB. You may add additional flag values to correctly identify theparticular row which you may want to send to DB.
    Hope you got it.

  • Generating 2 test reports for the same test - XML and HTML

    Hi All,
    I have a special test requirement.
    Need to generate 2 test reports for the same test. One in HTML and the other in XML format.
    Is there any direct method for that?
    How it can be implemented?
    Thanks in advance.
    SajK

    Hi SajK,
    To accomplish this task, you will need to modify the process model. For example, if you are using the sequential process model, you can concentrate on the TestReport sequence call and the various report related steps in the Single Pass and Test UUTs sequences.
    The TestReport sequence (also a callback) relies on Parameters.ReportOptions.Format to decide which of the following sequences to use when generating the report:
    <TestStand>\Components\NI\Models\TestStandModels\reportgen_txt.seq
    <TestStand>\Components\NI\Models\TestStandModels\reportgen_html.seq
    <TestStand>\Components\NI\Models\TestStandModels\reportgen_xml.seq
    In your case, instead of choosing one of the sequences, you could hard code it to use both the html and xml sequences. Be aware that for this to work, you must also modify and/or duplicate most of the report related steps in the Single Pass and Test UUTs sequences. For instance, the Set Report Format step becomes unnecessary since you are hard-coding the report format. On the other hand, the Write UUT Report step needs to be duplicated, one step to write to an html file location, and another to write to the xml file location.
    Please note that modifying the process mode in this way will deprecate some of the settings in the report options dialog box (such as the report format). For more information on TestStand report generation, please refer to the following DevZone article:
    Report Generation Explained

    Hi,
    Basically that is my question. My criteria is that I
    will be given some XML files, I need to save the XML
    file somewhere for future reference. However I also
    have to store when it was registered and so on. So the XML won't be changing unless the registration date is updated?
    A file modification time could give you the same effect.
    Would you install this in the database? Or you would
    just store the path where it is deployed?I'd favor the latter for the sake of an argument.
    If you put it in the database, you wouldn't be able to query for the XML except by ID or registration date. Not much point in having it there.

  • Tomcat cannot refresh xml and page

    Dear all,
    I have an application building on blazeds and flex, and in the server side, I deploy some xml and html file in the tomcat6 web application directory. When the xml and html file is modified, in the IE browser, the xml and html file cannot be refresh directly, even when I clean the IE's temp file, and it will take a very long time to refresh correctly, and during this time, I need not do anything but waiting. It is interesting that in Mozilla, the xml and html file cannot be display correctly for the first time, when I refresh the Mozilla, it will be correct.
    Does anyone meet this problem? Any help or suggestion will be welcome.
    best regard

    You not have to change server.xml file. You can, and it is one possible solution, but I am using another, so I will explain this. Instead of putting context into server.xml file, I have put it into <tomcat_home>/conf/Catalina/<server_name>/<webapp_name>.xml
    <server_name> is localhost in my case.
    In this file I have:
    <Context path="/margrethe" reloadable="true"
    docBase="h:\apps\programs\eclipse-workspace\margrethe-webapp"
    workDir="h:\ apps\programs\eclipse-workspace\margrethe-webapp\work" >
         <Logger className="org.apache.catalina.logger.SystemOutLogger" verbosity="4" timestamp="true"/>
    </Context> margrethe is name of my webapp
    I have web.xml here:
    h:/apps/programs/eclipse-workspace/margrethe-webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml
    And it contains:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

  • Convert invalid xml characters to HTML-Entity

    Hi,
    How can i convert invalid XML characters like ,,, . . . to the HTML- Entity &auml &uuml &ouml ?
    Is there any Method or class who can handle an input string and transform the invalid characters?
    Or is there another way to mask this characters so that an XML parser do not throw an error when parsing the document.
    Best regards,
    Michael

    Ok sorry, I'll give you more details what i want to do and where i have the problems.
    I have the following xml string:
    <font family="Times New Roman" size="14" color="#333333">This is a sample Text</font>
    The xml-string can contain any characters because the content is from a text pane where the user can type in any characters.
    I use the DOM parser to parse this input string to get the attributes and the text content.
    And thats my problem, how can i make sure that this string wont throw any exceptions when i parse it with DOM?
    Parsing the string with the follwing code:
    public XMLElement parse(String sourceString)
            //create a new xml element
            XMLElement xmlElement = new XMLElement();
            //create a new document
            DocumentBuilder builder = build();
            //now parse the string into the document
            InputStream is = new ByteArrayInputStream(sourceString.getBytes());
            Document document = null;
            try
                document = builder.parse(is);
            catch (SAXException e)
                System.out.println("SAXError while parsing the document");
                e.getMessage();
                //no valid document
                return null;
            catch (IOException e)
                System.out.println("IO Error while parsing the document");
                e.getMessage();
                //no valid document
                return null;
            //get the element
            org.w3c.dom.Element element = document.getDocumentElement();
            if (element != null)
                xmlElement.setNodeName(element.getNodeName());
                xmlElement.setNodeValue(element.getTextContent());
                //attributes defined?
                int length = element.getAttributes().getLength();
                //get the attributes, if defined
                for (int i = 0; i < length; i++)
                    xmlElement.addAttribute(
                            element.getAttributes().item(i).getNodeName(),
                            element.getAttributes().item(i).getTextContent());
            return xmlElement;
        } XMLElement is my own class.
    The builder:
    private DocumentBuilder build()
            DocumentBuilder docBuilder = null;
            try
                DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
                docBuilder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
            catch(ParserConfigurationException pce)
                System.out.println("Error while creating an DocumentBuilder");
                pce.getMessage();
            //return the document builder
            return docBuilder;

  • Dreamweaver cc html entity conversion problem in mac -NO utf-8 related answer please

    I probably am fighting against a bug existing in DW for a while, and i'm really on the edge of bursting out!
    Here are the specifications:
    Dreamweaver CC from creative cloud (also tested w/ CS5.5 too) installed on mac, OS and DW user interfaces are english, and on mac turkish keyboard layout is also installed.
    I have been using DW for maybe 15 years, since it was macromedia.. But was always on windows. This is the first time I use it on mac. Here is my problem step by step:
    1- Dreamweaver > Pereferences > New Document > Default Encoding: Western (ISO Latin 1) (NOT UTF-8 PLEASE, IT KEEPS THE CHARS UNCHANGED, ISO LATIN1 IS IMPORTANT)
    2- Go to Design View,
    3- There are 6 special characters in Turkish (times 2 for the caps versions of course), type:
    ĞÜŞİÖÇğüşıöç
    4- Go back to code view, what i should have seen was:
    &#286;&Uuml;&#350;&#304;&Ouml;&Ccedil;&#287;&uuml;&#351;&#305;&ouml;&ccedil;
    But I see:
    Ğ&Uuml;Şİ&Ouml;&Ccedil;ğ&uuml;şı&ouml;&ccedil;
    There are 3 chars (and capital versions) NOT converted to html entity at all. Which were: ĞŞİğşı
    But I should have seen them as: &#286;&#350;&#304;&#287;&#351;&#305;
    Any help would be appreciated, I do not want to leave my old friend DW just because of a weird conversion problem...

    Ok, when you look at the code view, what do you see exactly?
    do you see unconverted
    ĞÜŞİÖÇğüşıöç
    or converted
    &#286;&Uuml;&#350;&#304;&Ouml;&Ccedil;&#287;&uuml;&#351;&#305;&ouml;&ccedil;
    Here is one of my reasons:
    I sometimes create newsletters in turkish for my customers, and the html files i prepare are sent to customers attached as inline through various versions of outlook or thunderbird, or through i completely different email sender company (none is sent by me, i only create the html file). And most of the time the headers and some coding are cut off from the code when used to send as newsletter, and i have no control at all on it. so i have to create absolute correct viewed/rendered html files since i have no control at all on which sending method will be used or which os or browser or mail system will be used to open it...

  • UTF-8, Unicode, XML and windows problems

    Hi there,
    I'm developing an application which uses a lot of russian text.
    This russian text is stored in XML and can be sent to a server remotly
    I use the standard javax.xml libaries to parse the xml files and DBunits XMLWriter to write generate XML strings.
    The XML returned by the DBunit stuff is UTF-8, but its inside a UTF-16 string.
    So when I generate xml and print it out I get something that looks like the following:
      ?Thats ok, beacause I can stick that streight into a file when writing files and it works.
    But the problem comes when sending the XML over the server.
    The sending implentation I use must be able to send java generated utf-16 and xml read utf-8.
    So I convert the XML from utf-8 to utf-16, using the following:
    byte[] stringBytesISO = isoString.getBytes("ISO-8859-1");
    utf8String = new String(stringBytesISO, "UTF-8");And that works perfectly on my linux system.
    However when I run it on windows, it only seems to convert some of the characters
    &#1055;&#1088;&#1080;&#1074;&#1099;&#1095;&#1085;&#1099;&#1084; &#65533;?&#1085;&#1086;&#1084; &#1079;&#1072;&#65533;?&#1085;&#1091;&#1090; &#1076;&#1086;&#1088;&#1086;&#1075;&#1080; &#1076;&#1086; &#1074;&#1077;&#65533;?&#1085;&#1099;,Does anyone know whats going wrong here?

Ideally, you should use the same library to write the XML as you do to read it, but you definitely shouldn't be using DbUnit in this context.
    The XML returned by the DBunit stuff is UTF-8, but its inside a UTF-16 string. That should never happen. XML is just text, and text can either be in the form of a Java string, or it can be stored externally using a text encoding like UTF-8. Never mind that Java strings use the UTF-16 encoding; you don't need to know or mention that. Encodings only come into play when you're communicating with something outside your program, like a file system or a database.
    When you generate the XML, you specify that the encoding is UTF-8. When you read the XML, you specify that the encoding is UTF-8. That's all.

    in SDIXML_DATA_TO_DOM you can only pass the name of root node, so you can not assign attribute xmlns to root node (<Data xmlns="ServiceNet">) ... unless you build the xml document from scratch (without SDIXML_DATA_TO_DOM)

  • Oracle Apps and HTML DB Integration Problems

    Hi,
    I have integrated Oracle Apps and HTML DB, using custom authentication schema so that HTML DB looks for APPS username and password for validation.
    Also, i have created menu, responsiblity, functions, custom application etc, so that user can login from Oracle Apps login screen and then select the responsibility which will redirect to HTML DB Applications page.
    My problem is, once the user clicks on the Responsbility and the function(which is nothing but HTML DB Page), it is redirecting to login page and i need to re-enter the apps user name and password again to access HTML DB applications.
    Is there any way, can i redirect the user directly into my HTML DB application page, without taking him to login page of HTML DB application and also uses the APPS user name and password which he had entered in the Oracle Apps login page.
    I need your help on doing the same. Please respond.
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hi Scott,
    Thanks for the quick reply. I agree with you in terms of validating the session but I haven't been able to get that to work - one of my earlier posts describes the issues I have experienced:
    Authentication and SSO (non-Oracle)
    I suppose my question is - is there a simple way for the APEX app to validate that there is an active Apps session cookie?
    In terms of the encrypted password, what I have been trying to do was make use of the FND_WEB_SEC.VALIDATE_LOGIN method which is described in other posts and the Scott Spendolini presentation on integrating apps.
    Thanks,
    Stuart

    Hi,
    JSF 1.1 doesn't coexist nicely with HTML components.
    So if your goal is to build layouts in HTML then this
    will not produce the result you want
    Skins in 10.1.3 are slightly different than in 11
    (selectors may have changed their names). If you need
    to specify the class property to make skins work then
    this indicates that the skin selectors you use are
    not the correct ones.
