Rendered condition in hidden by default column
I have a requirement for a column in applications table that
when USER=A, column must not available (Rendered= false)
when USER=B, column is not visible BUT it can added by selecting it from VIEW->COLUMNS-> menu option. (Rendered =true and visible=false)
I have put a condition in rendered. But the problem I am facing is that when USER=B, even with visible=false the column is being displayed in Results Table(application table).
Does render=true override visible=false or is it an ADF bug?
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.
Thanks
rendered="#{pageFlowscope.isUserA=='Y'}"
visible =falsei dont understand above thing which you have written. if i get you correctly means you are miss-using/mis- understood property
from my understanding if User 'A' logined means you want to show the column. if user 'b' logined no need to show that.
rendered="#{pageFlowscope.isUserA=='Y' ? true or false}"
*or*
visible ="#{pageFlowscope.isUserA=='Y' ? true or false}"

Set default columns in af;panelCollection
In <af:panelCollection>, the user can choose to show/hide table columns. Is it possible for me to set which columns are shown/hidden by default when the user loads the page?
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0... and the properties you set for the panelCollection applies to panelCollection only (of course, at runtime, changing the value through the menu items in it affects the child component - tree/table/treetable). So, as Frank mentioned, you need to hide the columns by setting its visible property.
Check this blog to know more about what you can do with the featureOff attribute of panelCollection.

I often need to access the effects section and/or select a different midi instrument and have to manual minimize these boxes. It would be nice if I could have these hidden by default as I'm accessing the portions covered by the track and region parameter boxes more frequently than I'm accessing the boxes themselves.
Thanks! Before answering your question, you have to make sure you understand the difference between the different track types in GarageBand.
Tracks, you record your music on
There are three types of those Tracks.
MIDI Tracks (aka Software Instrument Tracks)
Audio Tracks (aka Real Instrument Tracks)
Drummer Track (only one per Project)
Global Tracks
These are the Tracks that can be shown/hidden at the top of the Tracks Area for specific purposes.
Arrangement Track
Movie Track
Transposition Track
Tempo Track
Master Track
This Track can also be shown/hidden in the Tracks Area. Please note, you cannot delete that Track, only hide it, similar to the Global Tracks
Regarding the Tracks you record your music on, you can delete any of those. It doesn't matter if you created them or there are part of a Template (maybe that is what you refer to as the default track). Once you delete the last Track, the "New Track Window" will pop up to add a new track.
I will explain all that in much more detail in my manual "GarageBand X - How it Works".
Hope that helps

Possible to set a default column value to an expression?
Hi,
Is it possible to set a default column name to an expression when creating a table?
For example, I wish to set the default value of a column to read from another table's column and do some arithmetic....is this possible?
Thanks.Yes, you can, with trigger Before Insert for Each row
But be carefull, you can hit the mutating table problem... -
Is there any way to set default column widths in the Finder's Column view
When my Finder windows open in column view, all the columns are always VERY wide. I have to then spend time resizing them to a managable width. Is there any way to set default column widths in the Finder's Column view?
<Re-Titled By Host>No, because you can't set a columns view default.

Setting default columns displayed in interactive report
Hi APEX community,
I recently created an interactive report based on an sql query as follows:
select
"STOCK_CLIP_ID",
"TITLE"
from "STOCK_CLIP"
After creating the report I added an additional column:
select
"STOCK_CLIP_ID",
"TITLE",
*"UPLOADED"*
from "STOCK_CLIP"
The new column does not display by default, I have to add it under Actions > Select Columns. I cant find any setting to add my new column UPLOADED to the default columns to be displayed so that when a user first navigates to the report they dont have to add that column in order to be able to see it.
Sorry this is perhaps a stupid question with an obvious answer, i'm new to the interactive reports.
Thanks!Hi,
Login to Apex builder. Run page where is your interactive report.
Select columns you like to show default from Action menu. Save report default layout from Action menu.

Hi all
In Designer 10.1.2.0.1 i have the following problem:
If i create a Table-Usage in a Module-Component i define the source table. After this i choose the columns on the "items"-tab. In the "available columns"-section the columns are displayed correctly. when i select them in the "Selected Items" there is a "2" at the end of the column name.
NAME is NAME2
DESCRIPTION is DESCRIPTION2
I could change the name on the next tab, but de default column name is always with a ending 2.
is there a preference to set or is it a bug?
Regards
BeatIMHO there is no preference to control this behaviour and Oracle will call this a "feature". In this way the column names and the item names will have different names when referencing them in derivations etc.
Personally I also remove the '2' from every item... -

How to create default column in XML schema ?
Hi All,
I would like to define a default column let's say Run_Date as Date datatype in XML schema definition (XSD) and would like to populate SYSDATE to the column Run_Date, When XML records are parsed to that schema.
Please let me know, how we can achieve?

When I executed the above SQL, It only populates main data(Perosnal Details such as EmpNo,FirstName,LastName) but not attributes (Workhrs.Day,WOrkhrs.Hrs).
Please let me know, how can I move those attributes data?

Copy table structure with default column values
Hi....
I created a table by copying another table structure by using below query.....
SQL> CREATE TABLE SAMPLE_TEMP AS SELECT * FROM SAMPLE WHERE 1=2;
But my problem is " the default column values are not copied to new table"
Suggest a query like that it should " copy a table structure and default values on columns "
Thanks in advancehi,
One more option would be "dbms_redefinition' - it would work as per your requirement.

Custom table model, table sorter, and cell renderer to use hidden columns
Hello,
I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way to go about this. I currently have a JTable with an custom table model to make the cells immutable. Furthermore, I have a "hidden" column in the table model so that I can access the items selected from a database by their recid, and then another hidden column that keeps track of the appropriate color for a custom cell renderer.
Subject -- Sender -- Date hidden rec id color
Hello Pete Jan 15, 2003 2900 blue
Basically, when a row is selected, it grabs the record id from the hidden column. This essentially allows me to have a data[][] object independent of the one that is used to display the JTable. Instinctively, this does not seem right, but I don't know how else to do it. I know that the DefaultTableModel uses a Vector even when it's constructed with an array and I've read elsewhere that it's not a good idea to do what I'm trying to do.
The other complication is that I have a table sorter as well. So, when it sorts the objects in the table, I have it recreate the data array and then set the data array of the ImmutableTableModel when it has rearranged all of the items in the array.
On top of this, I have a custom cell renderer as well. This checks yet another hidden field and displays the row accordingly. So, not only does the table sort need to inform the table model of a change in the data structure, but also the cell renderer.
Is there a better way to keep the data in sync between all of these? To the OP, having hidden columns is just fine, I do that all the time.. Nothing says you have to display ALL the info you have..
Now, the column appears to be sorting properly
whenever a new row is added. However, when I attempt
to remove the selected row, it now removes a seemingly
random row and I am left with an unselectable blank
line in my JTable.I have a class that uses an int[] to index the data.. The table model displays rows in order of the index, not the actual order of the data (in my case a Vector of Object[]'s).. Saves a lotta work when sorting..
If you're using a similar indexing scheme: If you're deleting a row, you have to delete the data in the vector at the INDEX table.getSelectedRow(), not the actual data contained at
vector.elementAt(table.getSelectedRow()). This would account for a seemingly 'random' row getting deleted, instead of the row you intend.
Because the row is unselectable, it sounds like you have a null in your model where you should have a row of data.. When you do
vector.removeElementAt(int), the Vector class packs itself. An array does not. If you have an array, when you delete the row you must make sure you dont have that gap.. Make a new array of
(old array length-1), populate it, and give it back to your model.. Using Vectors makes this automatic.
Also, you must make sure your model knows the data changed:
model.fireTableDataChanged(); otherwise it has no idea anything happened..
IDK if that's how you're doing it, but it sounds remarkably similar to what I went thru when I put all this together.. -
The default 'document' column is way too wide and forces you eye to track all the way across the screen to read info like "date modified', 'kind' or 'size'.
Tried several times to create a narrower default 'document name' column with no results. Couldn't find anything in preferences or view options. Tried dragging column headers while holding the down the option key with no results.
Every time I open a new finder window, all columns except the 'document' column affixed to the right side of the window. Also, when you grab the bottom right corner of a window to resize smaller, the lists become re-affixed to the right side of the window when opening the window back up.
Experiencing the same problem in Mavericks 10.9.3 on an iMac and Macbook Pro Retina.
Thanks if you've made it this far:)This was a great place for me to start
Thank you
I took profdant139's suggestions a bit further as my real goal was to have the "Document column" narrower. The goal to be able to see all the other document info that was usually hidden way out to the right
To achieve my results I right clicked in the upper bar with the column names and chose from the drop down box "comments" column (as suggested). I then dragged it to the far right. This pushed all the other columns over.
In the end of the day I ended up adding "Size" and "Date modified" columns as well to get my desired results.
Remember one can move different columns around to be in the order you need by clicking on the column to get it active and then left click and drag it to where you want
Another great thing is that by default (Using Mavericks) the date modified, opened, created columns have date and time. One can shrink them down to xx/xx/xx format by manually adjusting the column width like one does in Excel - click on column separator up top and drag
Once all that is done, at least on my box, I closed it out and opened up a new finder window and everything was as I wanted.
Thank you for the help from the above helper to get me here -
Default Column Sort Order For KM iViews
By default, the KM iViews we're using sorts the documents within a folder based on the filename in descending order. Is there a way that I can change the default sort order to be the Modified Column in reverse chronological order?
Any help on this matter is appreciated. This can be done in the colection renderer of the iview's layout set. Simplye enter the property you want to sort on in 'Property for Sorting' field and 'Sorting Mode' as descending or ascending.
The 'sorting Mode' option is only visible in the advanced mode.
