Rendering a flex component gives error??
Hi. I want to render or re initialize a flex component on the action of another event. I tried using init on the event to re initialize the component but it gives me an error ( error in list List.as). Can there be some other way to render the Flex component? When i select "dismiss all" in the error the code seems to be working fine, so is there a way so that the actionscript error is not displayed and the dismiss all button is selected by default?
Any help would be really appreciated.

Call a dll with an activeX component gives error
Hello all,
My program consist of:
- Main program
- DLL's
How it works:
The main program is the interface for the user, this main program call's several dll's
The problem:
The main program runs withought problems, but when it call's a dll, which also call's an activeX component, I get an error.
I then made a executable from the dll which then works ok, no problem.
When I click the retry it runs ok, but when I call it again I get the message again.
The message does allways accur, but still very often
Conclusion:
The error message only comes when I call it as a dll, when the dll is standalone executable no problems occur.
Below you can see how I call the dll:
Can someone please help me with this problem?

BartHello Bas,
I have included the vi which calls de dll(executedll.vi) en the dll in VI form(plugin.vi & plugin.lvproj).
As you can see the dll calls the canconfigurator activex component.
And closes the activex component when done.
This plugin will be called several times in the test enviroment.

Installing component gives error
Hi,
I am facing a pretty wierd problem.
I am using "HideStandardCheckinAndSearch" component.
If I use the zip file downloaded from the Oracle Site(HideStandardCheckinAndSearch.zip) and install this component, it installs easily.
When the same component I download through Advanced Component manager Screen from UCM from one environment so that same can be used in another,
it downloads as a "manifest.zip".
I unzip it, the folder structure created is as --->
manifest(folder) --->mainfest(folder) ---> Component(folder) and manifest(hda file) ---> Clicking on component folder ---> HideStandardCheckinAndSearch(folder) ---> resources(folder) , HideStandardCheckinAndSearch(hda file) , hidestandardcheckinandsearch_environment(cfg file and readme file).
I rename the second manifest folder as "Hidestandardcheckinandsearch" and zip it so that is same as the one I downloaded from Oracle Site but once tryng toinstall i get teh following error :
"Event generated by user 'weblogic' at host 'localhost:16200'. Unable to execute service GET_COMPONENT_INSTALL_FORM and function saveComponentZip.
Unable to find 'manifest.hda' in 'D:/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/base_domain/ucm/cs/vault/~temp/1125732838.zip' zip file "
I am not able to understand what wrong I am doing ....
Any help in clarifying this would be great.
-shashwatYour top level should be your component folder & manifest.hda file.
You've probably gotten confused with the folder names when you unzipped and it created a new top level folder for you. Also, you can embed components inside each other, so that can also complicate the structure of a component.. but, usually the embedded components are just zip files, so it's not too unique.
Take your zipped component and compare it against an ootb zipped component. Or, let the component wizard zip up your component for you.

GurvinderHi Gurvinder,
The reference in my post
Activities in the Business Control Center (BCC) receive Error #2036 (Doc ID 1369364.1)
is to a Knowledge Article on My Oracle Support (MOS) and is accessed by logging in to MOS at https://support.oracle.com
Once you've logged in there are multiple ways to find a knowledge article.
A quick one is to paste the Doc ID into the search box at the top right, under "Contact Us".
You can click the sheet of paper icon to the left of the search box and select "Knowledge Base" if you'd like, but that's not mandatory.
You can also click on the Knowledge tab on the left to get to the Knowledge Home.
A tip if you're browsing in the Knowledge Home, you can "Select a product line or a product" to limit your search.
In this case choose

Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component log file?
Hello. I am having troubles on locating the log file for this particular error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component.
Exception id: 11:59_31/07/07_0004_19351950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I searched all folders on my drive, using the exception id as keyword to search files that contains part of the id (0004_19351950), but to no avail. I wanted to see the log for me to identify the problem. Any ideas where I can look for it? or, better yet, what can be a solution to this runtime error?
I'm using the 2004s developer environment version. Thanks in advance.hi Arnold,
Go to Java Developer role -> expand Portal Tools folder -> click on Portal Logviewer. Put the exception id in the text-box corresponding to search -> click on search all files. Open the file that is displayed in the search result and make a search with the id again to refer to the exact line.
N.B: if you don't have Java developer role, using user admin, assign that role to you first

Premiere Pro stops rendering and gives error message when encounters "RGB Color Corrector"
Premiere Pro (and also Encore) stops rendering and gives error message when it encounters a clip containing the "RGB Color Corrector" in any clip. It will process clips without RGBCC, but will stop when it gets to one with RGBCC activavted. PP will render clips if other effects, such as "Fast Color Corrector", "Color Balance (HLS)", and "Three-Way Color Corrector" are selected. However, these do not have the capabilities that The other color correctors will not do what RGB color corrector does, so I need to have this working to finish a large product that is due to the client. Please help me..... I am not using the Creative Cloud version, and can't find either a download for the new update from 2013, or a phone number to talk to anyone.
Using a Win7 computer with 2.8 quad core processor, 24 gig of ram, Nvidia Quadro 5000 video card. Don't think I have any plugins. I looked at one a while back for cleaning up grainy video, but I am not sure I paid for that. Think I deleted it.
Incidentally, someone named Jim on another part of the forum mentioned that this problem has been fixed in the CC version of the program. I am using the non-CC version because I am 68 years old and only do seminars and documentation video. Don't need so many bells and whistles, and definitely don't need learning curves every few weeks. CS6.0.3 works fine for me. By the way, someone else said that maybe version 6.0.1 might work better and I should revert to that. Not sure if it is the version i have on the disk upgrade to 5.5 that I purchased in December.
As it stands now, I have 7.5 hours of a seminar that is ready to go out the door. If there is an upgrade I can get from Adobe, maybe you can tell me about it. If I have a setting incorrect in the video output format, maybe I can change that. So far it just happens with clips in my video that have RGB color correction.

Using Flex Component Kit for FlashCS3 in Flash Builder
Hi at all,
i apologize for my english.
I'm using Flash Builder 4 and i've created a movie clip symbol in Flash CS4.
I convert the flash symbol in Flex Component but Flash Builder sends a "Verify Error" because the mx.flash.UIMovieClip class in the Flex Component Kit package is not updated at mx.flash.UIMovieClip in Flex4 library,
Is there a updated version of Flex component kit? At this moment i'ive a 1.1.2 version.
Thanks.
F.You should be able to get version 2.0.0 of the MXP in the open source repository:

Flex Component Kit publish SWC not working with Flex 4
I started this thread in the Flex forum and they are telling me that the SWC's I'm creating with Flash Professional CS5 and Flex Component Kit 2.0.0 are not linked with FCC for Flex 4.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/777789?tstart=0
That means the problem is with my Flash Professional CS5 setup instead of my Flash Builder 4 setup. Can someone here help me fix my Flash setup? As I described in that thread I can't find anything wrong with my setup but apparenty I'm generating SWC's for the wrong version of Flex.
Thanks,
RyanI unzipped my SWC and verified what Flex harUI in the Flex forum told me. My SWC seems to be linked with FCC 1 not FCC 2. I don't understand how this is possible. I am using Flash Professional CS5 and only FCC 2.0.0 is installed, FCC 1 is not even installed. Here are the contents of catalog.xml in my SWC file. How do I get Flash CS5 to generate an SWC for Flex 4?

Flex component with HTTPService
OK, so I'm a Flex newbie so forgive me if I'm missing the
obvious.
I created a Flex component that references a HTTPService to
populate a DataGrid with data. As a standalone .mxml file, it works
fine. When I place it into a Flex application where the component
is referenced, the grid shows up, but I get no data. I've tried
referencing the HTTPService in the application itself, no luck.
I've tried referencing the service in a creationComplete function
on the application page, no luck. I'm sure there's just some little
snippet that allows the service to run in the component...the
component looks fine when I run it, I just don't get any
data.Thanks--actually I figured it out--I was overlooking
something obvious. However, I have a new issue that I would
genuinely appreciate assistance on.
I am building a Flex app where I have 4 custom components.
Each component calls a web service to pull data in. I am using an
MXML application file to bring in each component with an additional
component where the user can select a date range and submit that
range to the various web services. So what I need to do is make the
date fields public variables and then append those variables to the
web service calls as name/value pairs.
No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the other
components to recognize the date variables as public vars. I've
written them out as variables as part of a public function, tried
to make them bindable, nothing works...
So for example, this is a simplified version of my date range
component (using only one date), assuming I've named the component
datebar.mxml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
width="100%">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
public function clickHandler():void
var sdate:String = start_date.text;
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:ApplicationControlBar width="100%" height="30">
<mx:DateField id="start_date" />
<mx:Button label="refresh" click="clickHandler();" />
</mx:Label>
</mx:ApplicationControlBar>
</mx:Canvas>
Then in another component using a web service, I place:
<mx:HTTPService
id="os_downloads"
url="
http://publishingdynamics.com/service.asmx?start_date={datebar.sdate}"
useProxy="false">
Where {datebar.sdate} is the variable I'm referencing to get
a value from. I get a constant error doing this. I've tried several
varitions. I can successfully create a public variable in the same
manner not using a form value and get the component to display that
variable using the same syntax, where I reference the source
component like: {datebar.myvar} so I know the namespace referene
works.
Admittedly I'm not a very good ActionScripter... -
PCR (JSP/PAR) gives error eventhough it is successful in DEV,QAenvironments
Dear SDN users,
We are getting a Portal Runtime error - when we are trying to start PCR which is based on JSP (PAR file) in Prod environment.
We could test successfully in DEV, QA and UAT envrionments using same PAR file, but still we are getting this error in Production environment.
Also, when we tried to test the PCR using individual server in Prod (from a group of servers in Prod), only one server is able to run the PCR, but all other server are failing to load PCR and giving this error. It is very trivial to know why one server is working and others not. And this occurs only in Prod environment. Our basis team tried to restart the server many times, but still unsuccessful. We have upload the PAR using central instance URL.
Please HELP.

Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3
Hi,
I created a flex component using the component kit for Flash
CS3. The component contains a vector image wrapped as a MovieClip.
In my flex application I add the component as child to a
Canvas. It works well if i add it like -
<mx:Canvas id="container" >
<local:MyComponent />
</mx:Canvas>
or like -
container.addChild (new MyComponent()); //DISPLAYED
However, the component is not displayed when I do the
following -
var array:Array = new Array(new MyComponent());
container.addChild(array[0]); //NOT DISPLAYED
Can somebody tell me why this is so?
I would also like to know if such components can be
instantiated using flash.utils.getDefinitionByName.
I tried it but I get Error #1065: Variable 'componentName' is
not defined
Could somebody please tell me what is going on?Hi bolaughlin,
Thanks for you reply.
Error 1065:
import MyComponent;
var comp:MyComponent = new MyComponent(); //Error 1065
//Where MyComponent is the Flash CS3 clip that was converted
to Flex component
I have a workaround for this -
I first add the component as an Mxml tag with visibility
false and then remove the component
with actionscript. Now all instantiations work normally (this
includes all components in the SWC).
<mx:Canvas id="container" >
<local:MyComponent visible="false" />
</mx:Canvas>
and in <mx:Script>
container.removeAllChildren();
var comp:MyComponent = new MyComponent(); //Works
var anotherComp:MyOtherComponent = new MyOtherComponent();
//From the same swc; This also works.
I have a feeling this problem is similar to the 'shared
fonts' problem that
existed with Flash MX and below.
Anyway, even though I don't really know whats happening, my
project can
move ahead. Hopefully some Guru will explain this.
Until then...thank you very much. -
Flex component kit for cs4:
Hello people:
I've got flex component kit for cs4 installed. i can see the "convert to flex component" option in the flash menu and can convert movie clips into swc's; am able to import the movie clip to flex by going to the project menu in flex, selecting properties and selecting the paths to the swc file, but i cannot see the movieclip turned flex component in any of the perspectives or anywhere niether do i see them whn i try to use them by mxml code hint.
can anyone assist me in anyway because i get errors if i try to hard code the component name into the project.
Thanks:There isn't. But the CS3 kit works for CS4 too.
