Rendering backround problems

i just purchased adobe pre elements this weekend.i installed it on my comp (current gate way quad core desktop w/vista).i am having a problem with the time it takes to render backround..i load a file.ad it to the timeline .and for like a 1gb video its takin 10 mins to render it,,then as soon as i add a transition or effect or drag the timeline for slow or faster motion(any of these things) it starts completly over ,rendering back round from scratch..i thought maybe cause its hd footage it was slowin things down but then i loaded old video(not hd and very low def) and its the same thing..i have only used windows moovie maker before .but it didnt have to do anything like this.iIf it takes this long.i will never be able to complete an edited video.is there any sugestions.i cant return the program to best buy and its redered itself useless right now. please help.  thanks in advance Rory Bauman

Rendering depends on several things, and these can swap, depending on the source footage.
What are your source files?
If you have AVCHD footage, the time will depend on your CPU first, and your I/O (HDD's) next. Then it's a combo of RAM and Virtual Memory.
If you have other footage, it's I/O, then CPU and finally the combo of RAM and Virtual Memory.
Also, any change to the Timeline will result in the red line, indicating the need to Render for the best playback.
Remember also, that one does not need to Render, unless the ultimate playback is needed. I seldom Render, unless I am doing a lot of Keyframing, and then I will set the WAB (Work Area Bar) to just Render the section that I am working on.
In PrE 8, if one has a powerful system, and good source footage, the user can set Rendering to take place in the background. This does take resources, and, as mentioned above, Rendering is not necessary, except for critical playback. This feature was available in a previous NLE, that I used. I, and 98% of the users of that NLE, turned it off, so that editing was smoother. In general, Rendering is not at all critical, and only affects playback.
Good luck,
Hunt

    How to solve a rendering -50 problem in IMovie. I try many suggestions, but non of them helps to quit the problem. Is it a buck??

    thanks - last wish .. opps, that sounds weird
    if your time allows doing so:
    download MpegStreamclip
    open that file
    cmd-f (=fixes timecode errors...)
    choose Export Quicktime Movie/codec Apple Prores 422... if not listed, choose Apple Intermediate... keep other settings untouched.
    try to use THIS version, and try to export again...
    as mentioned above: I assume those non-standard-videos as main source for -50errors ....
    would be a nice, cost-free fix for that ......

  • Rendered text problems in 5.1.2

    I am working on a film project that has a lot of subtitles. (The dalies are digitized at HD DVC-Pro 720p) I was editing on a station running Final Cut Pro 5.1.1 (g5) with no real problems. I recently took the project with me on a trip to work on using my macbook pro (intel) running 5.1.2. I have discovered that all of my rendered text in my timelines is now uneditable. I can't move the text, I can't change the text, I can't even delete the text. I also can't change any of the footage running underneath the rendered text. It has become an immutable part of my film. This is obviously a huge problem. Has anyone else run accross this problem? Is it something that Apple is aware of? Any fixes? If not I may have to move to Avid and start all over again.

    Not that strange, really. Several different NLEs can sometimes lock onto a render file and not update the output until that render file is deleted.
    Rather simple fix, just a little time consuming.
    Next time don't be so quick to threaten to jump ship. First problem and you were ready to move to Avid. I've had more problems working on Avids than I have on FCP. MANY more problems. FCP problems are usually due to user error or third party hardware. Avid problems shut you down for a couple weeks while you ship out your hardware.

  • Javascript rendered flash problem

    Hi,
        I'm doing something kind of funky to facilitate some functionality.  I've got a client that has some camtasia style demos he wants to play of his product.  Problem is he wants the demos to play on top of the website and then have the ability to click a button to turn off the demo.  Now I've done that and it works great locally but when deployed to the server the flash based demo doesn't play until the entire object is downloaded.  In reality that's probably how it's working locally as well.
        You can see the results by going to http://www.wbsus.com/beta/  click on the "view video demo" on the left side there in the circle.  A small submenu will popup click on one of the first two and you'll see what I mean.  If you wait long enough for the entire demo to download it'll start.  There IS a preloader in this swf but it's not firing because the flash object doesn't play until the entire swf is downloaded.  Locally the preloader fires up just fine.
    Below is a snippet of the code used to add a demo to that page dynamically via javascript.
    document.getElementById(
    "DemoMenu").style.visibility = "hidden";
    var
    newdiv = document.createElement('div');
    newdiv.setAttribute(
    'id', 'ReceivingDemoII');
    newdiv.style.zIndex = 820;
    newdiv.display =
    "block";
    newdiv.style.position=
    "absolute";
    newdiv.style.top=
    "0px";
    newdiv.style.left=
    "30px";
    newdiv.style.visibility=
    "hidden";
    newdiv.style.backgroundColor=
    "#FFFFFF";
    document.body.appendChild(newdiv);
    html=
    "<input type='button' value='Close' onclick='closeReceivingDemoII()' />";
    html+=
    "       May take up to 90 seconds to load demonstration.<br/>";
    html+=
    " <OBJECT classid='clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000' codebase='http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0' WIDTH='1024' HEIGHT='790'>";
    html+=
    "<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE='" + returnPlace + "Demos/wbsreceiving.swf'>";
    html+=
    "<PARAM NAME=quality VALUE='high'>";
    html+=
    "<EMBED src='" + returnPlace + "Demos/wbsreceiving.swf' quality='high' WIDTH='1024' HEIGHT='790' TYPE='application/x-shockwave-flash' PLUGINSPAGE='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash'>"
    html+=
    "</OBJECT>";
    html+="<br /><br />";
    html+=
    "<input type='button' value='Close' onclick='closeReceivingDemoII()' />";
    newdiv.innerHTML = html;
    document.getElementById(
    'ReceivingDemoII').innerHTML = html;
    document.getElementById(
    'ReceivingDemoII').style.visibility="visible";
    So I dynamically create the div.  Append it to the DOM.  Add the inner html that defines the object.  "returnPlace" is a field that may or may not depending on where the site is hosted,(localhost, production,beta), return a prefix like in this case http://www.wbsus.com or http://www.wbsus.com/beta.   This was done to assure that the object path was complete.
    So after all that.  The demo plays, it just sits and waits for the entire demo to download and then the object starts to play.   It's like active-x is keeping it from playing until the entire object is downloaded because there is a working preloader in this flash object.   Behavior is the same in Firefox and I.E..  Thanks for any and all help!
    Randy

    Kind of right but the solution was a bit odd but it works and that's l I care.   The solution was to put a javascript delay in making the div visible.  If the div is rendered immediately like the code in my original post does, the object for some reason is not allowed to activate (play) until it is completely downloaded.  If however the div is rendered as hidden, and then a delay happens and then the div is made visible.  The browser has enough time to render the div and then recognize that there's an active-x component there, and take the appropriate action when the div is activated (made visible)  so I added
    currentDivToPlay = "(whatever was just built)"
    setTimeout(
    'turnOnGeneralDemo()', 700);
    and the function
    function turnOnGeneralDemo(){      document.getElementById(currentDivToPlay).style.visibility=
    "visible";}
    With the delay for the browser all works well.

  • Having screen rendering / memory problems with Microsoft Outlook 2013 and full screen mode with large 2560x1440 dual monitors

    MS Outlook 2013 seems to work fine for a while until a) enough time passes or b) I have multiple MS Outlook windows open. Then I start to see all sorts of graphical issues ranging from certain parts of the outlook window not rendering to certain functions
    locking etc.  Occassionally, when I decrease from full screen I get the screens to render correctly, making me think there's something unique with full screen mode that is causing the issue.   There seems to me to be quite a bit of memory issues
    with this version.
    I have a beast of a graphics card, 32gb of RAM, and a fast SSD, so don't think its the machine.
    Thoughts?

    Hi,
    Does this happen to other applications?
    If it's specific to Outlook, consider to check the hardware acceleration option:
    Go to FILE tab -> Options -> Advanced -> Display -> Disable hardware graphics acceleration, turn this option on or off to check the result.
    If the issue persists, please also consider whether any 3rd-party add-ins are interfering with Outlook, we can start Outlook in Safe Mode:
    Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
    If there's no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which caused the problem.

    I Recently upgraded my iMac i5 2.7 (12GB Ram) to OS 10.8.3
    Everything runs fine, but when I awaken my computer,  the backround picture is not properly refreshed.
    Parts are changed to blank white. I go into the System Preferences and choose the picture again to refresh the display.
    No applications are affected.  The picture is "Stretch to fill screen".

  • Rendering artifact problem on scroll

    Hi forum
    I have built a forum manager and all is well and good, except there seems to be a problem with artifacts when scrolling the form.  Screenies below:
    This is what it looks like before any rendering problems
    Here you can see its rendered incorrectly when i've scrolled around.
    Does anyone know what the problem is?  Its worse on some browsers and on older machines.  Is there a way to stop this or reduce the risk of it happening?
    Thanks alot
    Tom

    I have been struggling with this problem a lot as well.  Exactly the same.  And I can't find toot anywhere about it.
    I have found that setting your wmode to "window" fixes the problem for me. I see no rendering artifacts at least.  However that isn't an option for me in my current situation since there are other elements on the page that must be renderered on top of the player.
    If you have figured anything else out then I would be very very interested in knowing how you got it fixed!

  • Rendering/Exporting Problem

    Alright so I was reading up on here, and I found out that the reason I cannot export my movie is because I need to render it. Even before I read that, I rendered my movie approximately 3 times. I pick the destination file, it goes through the rendering process, and then I go to the folder to open up the file, and it is no where to be found. I tried rendering using different file names, destinations, and I can't figure it out at all. And without renderng the file, I cannot export, which is a major problem right now. Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

    What method are you using to export? "using compressor", "using quicktime conversion", etc.

  • Rendering Size Problem

    In my first Premiere project I am having a rendering problem.  It's a simple 8 minute project with one video track and one audio track.  The video track is 10 fps in .mov format and is 20.5 MB.  The mono audio track is a simple voice over that is 8.3 MB.  The sequence is set at the same size and fps as the video clip.  When I render it, the resultant size is over 500 MB.
    I've tried every way I can think of to render it differently, but can't seem to get the size down.  It makes no sense to me that the final size would be so large.  I've watched tutorials and done web searches and I can't find anything that helps me on my question.  I'd appreciate any advice about how to render properly.
    thanks

    Depending on what use, you want the exported file for ...you choose a preset that suits.
    eg .wmv, H264, QT, FLV etc...
    Most will be compressed and that will make your file size smaller.

    In my latest project some rendered footage does not correspond to the actual clip!!!??? I thought that the renderd files are attached to the clip. After moving the transparency back and forth it does show the actual unrendered footage. I moved the clip back and forth few times. But before I never had any problems.
    Deleting the preferences did not help. Also I noticed if I change something in the clip and lose the red bar appears on the top the undo will not bring my rendered files back.
    What is wrong?

    Render files are completely different files. When you add a filter and render, a new clip is made, and the original is left alone. The render file takes the place of the original in the timeline.
    If you match frame, you will find the original clip.
    I am not understanding your issue. Can you re-state it?

  • 3GS rendering / display problems with Scramble and Scramble apps

    On my brand new 3GS, the animated opening title sequences for the Scrabble (EA) and Scramble (Zynga) apps both show rendering problems on the left half of my screen (not on the right half, only the left half).
    The problems include: incomplete pixels, visual "stutters", blockiness, tearing, etc.
    Once in the applications, there are no problems. It is only during the title sequences for these two very different apps from two different companies.
    I have not observed any problems like this in X-plane trainer or any other app.
    On my original iPhone with 3.0 OS, I did not observe these problems. Only on the 3GS.
    I have reported the problem to both developers via the App Store, however I don't think this is specific to the applications themselves.
    Is anyone else experiencing these problems on their 3GS?

    I just ran Scrabble (don't have Scramble) and see none of what you describe on my 3GS during the opening animations .. or any other time.

  • Static image looks fine in media pane but renders with problems

    I have a project in which I am placing a few static JPGs over the video portion for a few seconds at a time here and there to illustrate certain things a speaker is touching on. The JPGs are usually not quite big enough to cover the entire frame of the media pane, so I end up having to resize them and make them bigger to either cover the rest of the video that’s still showing, or to effectively ‘crop out’ a portion of the JPG that I don’t want to see in the final output.
    Everything looks fine in the media pane. The problem arises when I output the final video to FLV. Some of the JPGs look fine – just as they did in the media pane preview. But a lot of them end up showing portions that I had cropped out, or even portions of the video that I know were covered up. It appears completely random. And when I re-export and try again, sometimes the problem disappears.
    Windows XP SP3
    Adobe Premiere Elements 9.0
    Export format: FLV

    One JPG sample is 960x720 pixels.
    The Project Preset Frame Size is 1280x720 pixels.
    For this particular sample, I stretch the JPG so that the text at the bottom of it falls below the media pane (since both the JPG and the project have the same pixel height). It becomes a little more pixelated, but that's fine. Sometimes it does get cropped out of the final FLV, sometimes it doesn't...
