Rendering multiple times

Using AA3, do I lose any sound quality if I, from a session, render my instrument tracks and vocal to a wav file? Then come back and render my vocal harmony to that rendered file? Then come back and render a partial female vocal to that rendered file? I'm doing a song this way and am concerned about losing sound quality by doing too much rendering? Thanks.

As long as you stay with WAV files you will be fine, preferably the 32-bit variety, which Audition defaults to.  Audition uses 32-bit math internally.  I seriously doubt you would ever notice a problem with 24-bit WAV files but I suppose if you did 1000's of edits and saves it would eventually start to degrade.
In any case be sure to use a high sampling frequency -- 48khz would be the minimum I would consider and most people will recommend 88.2 or 96khz.  Problem with those is that the files are twice as big and take twice as long to load and save.  Like everything else in life, it's a tradeoff.
If you used MP3 format, on the other hand, you would see degradation every time you open and re-save a file, because Audition always has to go through the MP3 encoder when saving, which by definition produces losses and artifacts each and every time.  One of these days I hope to write a macro that demonstrates this but it's one of those projects I will likely never get to...
Hope this helps.

  • Columns in af:table rendering multiple times when filtering drop-down list

    Technology: JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 SU5, ADF Faces/BC
    Page design:
    Master-detail jspx.
    Each section is an af:table.
    Drop-down lists created using instructions from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/screencasts/editabletabledropdown/dropdownlistineditabletable.html?_template=/ocom/technology/content/print
    Requirement:
    Data in a drop-down list on a child record needs to be filtered based on data from one or more columns in the currently selected row of the parent record.
    Issue:
    Drop-down lists have been successfully filtered using a couple of different methods, however, any time the data from the parent record is used to filter the data the columns in the child af:table begin to render multiple times. Navigating through the parent rows may cause the child records to have the correct number of columns displayed or multiple copies of the columns displayed.
    Removing any reference to the parent view object and hard-coding values instead causes this behavior to disappear.
    Each of the following methods has been tried. Each filters drop-down list data correctly and each causes apparently random extra column renders.
    1.     Cascading lists as per: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/mills/cascading_lists.html
    2.     Drop-down list based on view object that takes parameters.
    3.     Set where clause for drop down list in a method on the app module.
    4.     Set where clause for drop-down list in a new selection listener method for the af:table.
    Question:
    Is there a solution available that will filter the drop-down lists correctly and prevent the extra columns from being rendered?
    Thank you for any help that you can provide,
    Joanne

  • Problem with Placements rendering multiple times

    I am having a problem of portlets rendering more than once. Or more specifically,

    Hi Andrew,
    I am getting this kind of problem while using PortalVisitorManager::movePlaceableInstances()
    in my JPF code.
    It seems that one call resutls in adding a single portlet many times (8 times).
    The confusing part is that it should move a portlet instance from one location
    to other location but it adds new instances...
    did u get around with u'r problem, do u have some solution..
    any clue.....
    regards,

  • Needs rendering multiple times.

    Hey all,
    I am working on a project using HD footage. I have captured it all straight from the hardrive (tapeless camera used to shoot video) and once I put it in the timeline I render it once, like usual. But when I click away or drag another clip in, it says it must be rendered again. Everything that is. Any suggestions or settings on how I can fix this? Very urgent.
    Thanks very much.

  • Bee_table element gets rendered multiple times

    Hi Everybody,
    i'm using a bee_table that holds a tableview an a treeview. For the tableview I implemented an iterator.
    Now the problem is, everytime the bee_table with its elements is rendered to string another table occurs on screen.....
    When i don't use the iterator this doesn't happen!
    Any comments on this are appreciated!
    Michael

    Okay
    I think it's not a problem with the bee_table, there is a problem with the iterator itself. Now, I instantiate the tableview again everytime it comes to rendering. So this is sufficient solution for me.
    Over and Out!

  • Rendered Property calling managed bean Multiple Times

    Hi
    We have a problem within a command button in a jspx, which includes a rendered tag which references a managed bean method via EL.
    e.g.
    rendered="#{PERUserInfo.trainee}"
    When I debug the jspx, the PERUserInfo.trainee method is called 4 times instead of once.
    We have noticed similar findings when using managed bean methods via the rendered property. i.e. calls getters multiple times.
    Any idea why this is happening?
    We are using JDeveloper v10.1.3, JHS v10.1.3 SU1.
    All comments appreciated.
    Cheers
    Denis

    Denis,
    There can be many reasons why your bean method is called multiple times; but I would consider this perfectly normal in any JSF application considering all the lifecycles and (possible) Partial Page Rendering that happens.
    The question is, by the way, more appropriate on the JDeveloper forum since it is not directly related to JHeadstart itself.
    Hope this helps,

  • Issue in reading multiple time properties file

    Use Case:
    I have a page in which i have to show some Outage Messages on page. So I have configured outage message in properties files. This message should me rendered each time when it finds that properties file in class path or it finds the values w.r.t their keys.
    So what I decide that I shall write java method and call this method on Loading the page but here what happen is that whenever that page is load each time that reader file will call , that will create memory leak .
    So, anyone help me on this. What will be the best approach for that reading multiple times properties file?
    I will be grateful for any help you can provide
    Thanks

    Hi,
    have a bean at applicationScope, somewhat like this
    import java.util.HashMap;
    public class ApplnProperties {
        private HashMap _propMap;
        public HashMap getPropMap() {
            if(_propMap == null){
                //read the properties file and populate _propMap
            return _propMap;
    }here we put condition _propMap == null so it would be called only once during application lifecycle.
    and on page you can refer the prop map like following
    #{beanName.propMap['KEY1']}Regards,

  • Using tiles - servlet filter called multiple times

    Hi I have an application in we have 7 filters defined.
    Now in a jsp page, I have a loop that inserts a TILE. The loop iterates about 7000 times. Every time the tile insert is called, even my filters are called. So my 7 filters are called 7000 times. Now this makes my page rendering really slow.
    setting flush="false" (in the tile insert) does not work
    setting buffer="2700k" autoFlush="false" does not work.
    I have to use tiles. I cant skip the filters. What do I do? Is there any way I can not call the filter when my tiles are inserted.

    Hi
    Yes,you are right. In iAS6.0 SP4 When multiple requests arrive,and the Servlet's init() method has not returned yet for the first request, the application server calls init()multiple times. This problem is resolved in iAS 6.5.
    There is no kregedit magic that will solve this problem.
    Right now the workaround is any of the solution you proposed. Or use iAS6.5. I have tested it with fortune.
    Please download it and check with your application.
    you can find free download at http://developer.iplanet.com/appserver/testdrive/testdrive_65.html

  • Backing  Bean constructor getting called multiple times

    I have a List of records in the Table with a link Add.
    When i click Add i show a popup dialog which is attached to the dialogListener.
    On clicking OK on the dialog i want to add a record in the List in the backing Bean, but the Bean constructor is getting called multiple times.
    and the list to which the table is attached is also getting called multiple times.
    is there a way in which the method gets called only once?

    Hi!
    af:table have property ContentDelivery. When <default> (lazy), the table "frame" iz rendered in first page cycle, and content (rows in table) are fetched lazy i.e. in second cycle. Thus, your backing bean is constructed twice.
    If you set ContentDelivery to immediate, the table including data rows is generated in single page cycle thus your backing bean is constructed only once.
    Hope this helps,

  • Custom tag library called multiple times

    Hi ppl ,
    I have a custom tag library which i use to populate some menu components. When i do call my custom tag library though , it is called multiple times, use case is as follows.
    I have menu tabs and menu bars which thanks to Mr.Brenden is working splendidly as so:-
    <af:menuTabs>
    <af:forEach var="menuTab" items="#{bindings.menu.vwUserMenuTabRenderer.rangeSet}">
    <af:commandMenuItem text="#{menuTab.MenuLabel}"
    shortDesc="#{menuTab.MenuHint}"
    rendered="true"
    immediate="true"
    selected="#{sessionScope.selectedMenuId == menuTab.MenuId }"
    onclick="fnSetSelectedValue('#{menuTab.MenuId}')" >
    </af:commandMenuItem>
    </af:forEach>
    </af:menuTabs>
    <af:menuBar>
    <af:forEach var="menuBar" items="#{bindings.menu.vwUserMenuBarRenderer.rangeSet}">
    <af:commandMenuItem onclick="return clickreturnvalue()"
    onmouseover="dropdownmenu(this, event,#{menuBar.MenuId}, '150px')"
    onmouseout="delayhidemenu()"
    text="#{menuBar.MenuLabel}"
    action="#{menuBar.MenuUri}"
    rendered="#{menuBar.ParentId == sessionScope.selectedMenuId}"
    immediate="true" />
    </af:forEach>
    </af:menuBar>
    </afc:cache>
    now all of this code is within a subview , and just directly below the subview tag , i have the call to my custom tag library:-
    <myCustomTagLib:menuCascade />
    only issue now is that assuming i have in all 7 menu bar components, the doStartTag is called 7 times. the relevant code within my custom tag class is as follows :-
    public int doStartTag() throws JspException {
    return (EVAL_BODY_INCLUDE);
    public int doEndTag() throws JspException {
    try {
    declareVariables();
    return EVAL_PAGE;
    }catch (Exception ioe) {
    throw new JspException(ioe.getMessage());
    and within my declareVariables method i do an out of the jscript ( out.print(jscript.toString()); ) which is a simple string generated based on certain conditions...
    now it seems to be working fine on the front end , but when i view the source of the page, i notice that the declaration is called multiple times, and this happens because the doStartTag method is called multiple times, i haven't even nested the call to the custom tag within the menu components , any clue as to whats going wrong ?
    Cheers

    Hi,
    if you add the following print statement
    System.out.println("rendering "+FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().getViewId());
    Then the output in my case is
    07/04/24 08:14:04 rendering /BrowsePage.jsp
    07/04/24 08:14:05 rendering /otn_logo_small.gif
    The image comes from the file system, which means it is rendered by the JSF lifecycle. If you reference the image with a URL then the lifecycle doesn't render the image but only refrences it.
    To avoid your prepare render code to be executed multiple times, just check for jsp and jspx file extensions, which will guarantee that your code only executes for JSF pages, not for loaded files.
    The reason why this happens is because the JSF filter is set to /faces , which means all files that are loaded through that path

  • ItemEditEnd called multiple times

    Hi.
    Am using a datagrid and using an item editor and item render for that. Item Renderer --> To give background color and Item Editor - to show a date picker. While implementing this, my need is to open a popup when we enter date. But, am getting the popup thrice , sometimes during "on change"  and sometimes, when I press "Enter" or "Tab out" . When analyzed further, I noticed that itemEditEnd event is called thrice. Can anyone let me know the alternative for this please ? Here is my code.

                            PopUpManager.addPopUp(oTaskPopupObj,this,true);

  • PrepareRender() called multiple times if I have HTML/Images on a JSF page

    I have extended ADFPhaseListener and also FacesPageLifecycle. I am overriding the prepareRender() method in the CustomFacesPageLifecycle.
    When I insert an image on to the page in the branding facet or add any html using verbatim tag, the prepareRender() method is called two times. I am not sure why?
    If I remove the images/html, the method is only executed once.
    If I have image/html in the page, another strange thing is that the first time all the custom lines of code gets executed in prepareRender() method. But the second time only first few lines of code in the prepareRender() method. This seems to me a very wierd behaviour.
    Any inputs from ADF product dev team?
    Thanks

  • Getter is called multiple times

    Hi All,
    I my JSF page i am using one foreach which will read elements from an ArrayList. ArrayList is present in one PagesFlowSope-Bean.
    I am facing problem that, the getter for ArrayList is called multiple times.I want to restrict that,is there any way for doing this.
    Thanks in advance,

    Your getter gets called every time the component/page gets rendered/refreshed. If you feel that it refreshes too many times, check the partial triggers on that component or its parent. Just a thought, to avoid any logic getting called in your getter multiple times, if possible, put a empty or null check on your attribute and initialize it only if it is null/empty. In that way even if it gets called multiple times your logic to populate your ArrayList doesn't fire everytime.
    Good luck !

  • ADF11g: methodAction being invoked multiple times without control...

    Hi,
    I have a page that displays different data took from a single data control.
    This datacontrol is invoked by a methodAction, and the resulting bean contains both plain attributes and List of objects.
    I created my page with JDev 11.1.1.3.0, using drag and drop.
    What happens (seeing the log files) is that the page calls multiple times the methodAction instead of "recognizing" it only needs to call it 1 time to have all the data bound to the page,
    and of course the page does not work. I don't see the data even if the dataControls retrieve it.

  • OCR to ClearScan multiple times okay?

    Hi guys. Does anyone see any problems with having Acrobat OCR a document more than once? We have pdf files that get appended periodically, and sometimes the appended part has not been OCR'd. So to make sure the entire file is readable and searchable, I would like to run Acrobat 9's OCR text recognition with the ClearScan setting on the entire document. However, OCR will have been run on part or all of the document already.
    Will that cause any problems with the PDF file? Is it okay if someone runs OCR on it many times?
    thanks,
    -Emery

    Acrobat will allow you to repeat OCR on a page that was previously OCRed if the mode was originally "Searchable Image" or "Searchable Image Exact" because there is still a bitmap there to use. If ClearScan was used, of if the PDF only contains "renderable text" (because it was converted to PDF straight from the authoring application, for example), then it cannot/will not OCR that page.
    So, no, you cannot OCR a given page to ClearScan multiple times, but I think if you just redo the whole file, it will catch the new pages.
