Repeated Frames at the end of clips

I have a MacBook Pro with the adobe premiere pro cc 14, but I noticed this problem is CS6 also. The problem is this: Say I have two clips in the timeline that are connected (Clip A, Clip B).
If I alter Clip B in anyway (change scale or position, or simply remove it from the timeline) the first frame of Clip B will remain at the end of Clip A. So, when I execute the playback function I can see a quick flash of Clip B at the end of Clip A.
Here's what I've tried:
I tried rendering the files--didn't work.
I tried simply trimming the repeated frame off--didn't work.
Here's what did work.
There's a straight line that goes through every clip, I don't know what its called but I think it has something to do with the speed, I would drag that from say 100 to 96.55. The video would have the red render bar above it, and the repeated frame would disappear.
HOWEVER, in my current project  I have serval repeated frames in a blank space where there are video clips, so the previous method can not work.
What the heck!?!?!
Thanks

What are these clip exactly
Please post a screendump in treeview.

  • Frozen frame at the end of every clip

Without transitions, there is a frozen frame at the end of every clip that can be very distracting. Is there a way to disable this? I've been putting transitions in, which works, but I don't want to have to do that.
    Thanks,
    Elsa

Thank you very much! Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. This ended up working! It ***** that I have to add this extra step, but I'm glad there is a work around. Thanks again for you help.

  • Media Encoder CC 14 renders with black frame at the end

    Hello,

    How can i fix this?

I just figured out - it might be a quicktime viewer problem...

  • Compressor white frame at the end of WMP

I want to use compressor and flipformac to produce my windows media files. I have 50 clips to move so I wanted to take advantage of the automation.
Every clip it finishes as a wmp9 using the flipForMac quicktime plugin has a white frame at the end of it. Any way to get rid of that?
I downgraded my flipformac to the 1.0.2 from the 2.0 that is there current release because of a known bug that causes floating green chroma crap to appear on the wmp doc. I also tried using Sorrenson Squeeze to batch, but Sorrenson can't compress 720p codec footage that is the DVCPRO HD codec. (again, known bug they are working on). I tried downconverting the HD footage to SD and having compressor do it and still .... white frame. So then I tried cleaner... it just crashes... I hate cleaner.
sorry for the rant... can anyone help.

Is there a chance your source footage has the same white frame before you encode it? I've never seen this problem.
As far as flip4mac, there is a work around in the current version to avoid the green monster. With a Two Pass VBR Constrained, set your Peak Bit Rate to 1.5x. This makes your encode closer to a CBR, but eliminates the compression artifacts. Also in the advanced settings, a shorter Key Frame frequency will improve overall quality.
Sorry I'm not more help with the white frame. What version of Compressor are you using? I've done close to 100 encodes in the last month and haven't encountered this. What are your source files? Quicktime out of FCP? Reference files?

  • How can I add a field to a Repeating Frame in the body of a 9i Report

How can I add a field to a Repeating Frame in the body of an Oracle 9i Report whose source is in a higher group?
I want to change an Oracle 9i report. The report has no header or trailer but only a body. The body has the parent frame fields & a repeating frame with four fields, A, B, C & D. They all seem to be in one group. I want to add another field E to the repeating frame whose source is from the 'header'.
I added the field & created a boiler plate & then added the new field, E to the original group A, B, C & D. In the Property Inspector for the field, I pointed the source to the source column in the main query. However, when I run the report, I receive the error "Invalid body size". Some notes on Metalink indicate that this could be due to margins being out of the printable area.
Moreover, after making the changes & after having unsuccessfully run the report, when I try to open the Page Layout for the report, I get no details.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
i also got same query can u pls tell me elaborately, if u can can u pls send some code.

  • A portion of the audio is missing on the end of clips?

Using Adobe Premiere Elements 7 a portion of the audio is missing on the end of clips after I bring it in. The files are motion JPEG AVI .

    Welcome to the forum.
I do not recall seeing any issue with muxed MJPEG files, regarding truncated Audio. First, take a look at this ARTICLE on MJPEG files.
Next, all Audio files (muxed or elemental streams) must be Conformed, which converts them to 32 bit, floating point files for editing. If one does not allow the Conforming to complete 100%, the Audio can be truncated. See this ARTICLE.
    Good luck,

  • My time Frame indicator stops one frame before the end...?

Basically what the header says, which means every rendering I do is putting a black frame at the end of everything, so, for example, doing a Vine loop vid effect is proving impossible, because of the black frame it  puts at the end of everything.
Any help please for this novice, would be greatly appreciated, its driving me crazy, hope it/s something simple.
    Cheers Simon.

There is nothing wrong. AE operates on genuine time and a discrete frame is sampled at its temporal entry point. and nothing stops you from creating perfect loops, you just need to understand this little thing.

  • Premiere adding 15 frames to the end of every clip in export/sequence

Last night I exported an AVCHD 1080p Square Pixel sequence to a H.264 video file. When I checked on it this morning, the export had 15 frames added to the end of every clip in my video. I checked my project in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and noticed that those extra frames were also added to my sequence. Any clue as to what would cause this?

Can you post a screenshot of your timeline.
Also one zoomed in on a problem area.
Are you using crossdissolves in a 30 fps sequence?

  • Repeated frames when time remapping AVCHD clips in AE

I will try to explain the best I can. Keep in mind I am a novice and by no means highly technical. First some background: I edit sports video for college bound athletes. I put together highlight videos for them. When I am filming I start/stop the camera at the beginning/end of a play so I can easily identify/edit "clips". I have imported 10 AVCHD "clips" from my Sony HDR-SR11 to a Premiere Pro CS4 project. I am using the "AVCHD 1080i anamorphic/29.97fps" sequence setting as my output for this project will be a 1440x1080 mepeg2 file. So I get my clips in the timeline add some transitions, no major edits, render the work area and playback. Everything looks fine, all clips play smooth. Now here's the rub. I want to freeze play, highlight an athlete then continue play. To do this I am using AFTER EFFECTS (NOTE I have done this with HDV footage off my Canon HV20 camera with no problems) so anyway with the new CS4 edition I can right click on a clip in my timeline and choose "replace with after effects composition"....I do and the clip migrates to AE into a a composition ready for me to work my magic. So my method for freezing play is select the "clip" in the composition, Ctrl-Alt-T for time remapping. I add 5 seconds to the duration of the composition since I am going to add time when I freeze the clip. I find the point in the clip where I want to freeze it. I place a "time remap" keyframe at that point. I then drag my mouse to highlight the keyframe I just placed and the keyframe at the end of the clip......I drag them to the right 2 seconds, then cut/paste the keyframe I added which is placed by the CTI (which is still at the original point). Now I have a 2 second freeze in play. I add a white solid and do some masking to highlight the athlete during that freeze. And that's it.....I press "O" then "N" to define the work area then I choose "trim comp to work area" from the composition menu. I repeat this process to all my clips and here is where I see the problem. I go back to my timeline in PP and I play the clips......I see my freeze/highlight edits from AE just fine but on SOME clips......2 out of 5 for example.....I get jittery playback. So I decided to scrub thru the clip frame by frame to see what is going on. So within 29 frames this is what I see. Girl is getting ready to serve a volleyball....Frame 1-15....she steps forward to serve THEN at frame 18 she pops back to the starting point...IT LOOKS LIKE FRAMES 1-12 ARE BEING REPEATED. I scrub the rest of the clip and this happens at random points....a small block of frames gets repeated throughout the clip which in the end looks like "jitter" or "jumpy" motion. I follow the same workflow in AE for each clip BUT this "jitter" does not happen on every clip...only some. So is my workflow at fault or is AE/PP/Adobe still buggy when it comes to working with AVCHD codec?? Anyone else experience this, if so do you have a fix?

I haven't tested your theory yet Andrew but I did do this. In trying to track down exactly where these repeated frames are occurring. In AE I redid one clip that was repeating frames. I went frame by frame in AE and see no repeated frames. These changes should occur automatically in PP since the AE comp is still dynamically linked to my PP timeline. So I scrubbed the "source" (AE comp) file from the PP project panel frame by frame. And low and behold there are repeated frames, so it appears the problem is the handoff from AE to PP Sooooooo, ok I deleted the source file in the PP project panel and reimport it via dynamic link. Open the clip in the source monitor and yes...repeated frames at same point....recheck the comp in AE....no repeated frames. Delete the clip from PP project panel and this time import the clip directly instead of dynamic link.....repeated frames still there. So how about rendering the clip in AE the old fashion way then import to PP. AE Render Queue best settings - lossless.....blah blah blah. I ended up with an .avi file with no repeated frames. So to me the problem is the handoff between AE & PP. So rendering my AVCHD comps in AE first is my work around for now. Andrew...thanks! I will try your theory of converting the clip prior to the comp asap...right now I am trying to meet a deadline.

  • Black frames at the end of an exported file when converting from 60p to 24p

I have another export issue that I can't figure out.
I import footage I shot at 23.98fps (on a JVC HD100) using a Kona LH card at 59.94fps DVCPro HD, in which it has a 2:3 cadence. I need to make files that are actually 23.98p DVCProHD. Unfortunately, when I export in Final Cut from the 59.94 original, the new 23.98 file has all of the image, exported correctly, followed by a number of black frames such that the total number of frames in the exported file equals the number of frames in the original file. That is:
    If the original 59.94 file was 3s long, that is 60 * 3 = 180 frames. The exported 23.98 file also has 180 frames, but only 3s of image = 3 * 24 = 72 frames, followed by 180 - 72 = 108 frames = 4s 12frames of black.
How can I prevent this from happening, and end up with an exported file that is (e.g.) just the 3s of image, and not 7.5s of which 4.5s are black?
It's true that I can manually clip this black off, but I need to do many clips as a batch, and would really not have to change one clip at a time. It is also true that I can do a batch in compressor, and that this process does not suffer this problem -- that is, there is no extra black -- however, there is another problem: the original 59.94 DVCProHD files are actually 1280x720 with square pixels; the files exported from FCP via the KONA DVCProHD codec maintain this true HD proportion, but the ones exprted through compressor (which does not appear to support the KONA LH implementation of DVCProHD as an option) have the size 960x720 with anamorphic pixels, and I would rather keep the original size. Thus, I would rather export from fcp. If anyone has any insight into how I might resolve this....
    Thanks,
    Robert Schaller

Thanks. If I understand you correctly, it does seem to export correctly if I paste the 59.94 clip into a 23.98 sequence (you can't nest sequences that have different time bases) and export from there, and it doesn't even have to specify square pixels, etc.: the AJA codec implementation seems to take care of that. There is no longer any extra black, so, per file, that gives the right result.
That, however, is only one part of the problem, though a significant part. Next is, I really would like to do this as a batch process, as I tend to have many clips to do at one time. As soon as I try any kind of batch export, I end up with one of two problems:
    1) if I try to batch export from fcp, I'm back to having extra black frames, or
    2) if I try to batch export with compressor, I get 960x720 files.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get the right files in a batch, that would be the next step. Is fcp scriptable? And, if so, can you write a script that takes a clip, pastes it into a blank 23.98 DVCPro timeline, sets the correct in and out points (i.e, in at the beginning and out 1 before the end), exports it with a specified codec and time base, with a name based on the source clip, and then repeats that as needed?
    Thanks for any input --
    Robert Schaller

  • Video freezes at the end of clips.

Hi, I have encountered strange glitch. I have put many short clips into project, with straight cut, no transitions between. Some of clips doesn't follow seamlessly - video freezes for about 1sec at the very end of clip but I can hear audio from following clip and after that 1sec freeze video continues with audio. Therefore I "miss" that 1sec of video from the beginning of the clip. It happens only with some of clips and sometime I can sort it out with slight trimming. But mostly cannot.
What am I doing wrong there?

If you go into iMovie Preferences, make sure you select "Display Time Codes" as hh:mm:ss:frames.
By default, iMovie edits to the nearest 10th of a second, but by checking this parameter in preferences, you can edit to the nearest frame.

  • Missing frames at the end of my rushes

    Hi,
I am using Final Cut Express 4.
I have a few video file in .mov format - 25 FPS.
I can view them in FULL with QuickTime Player on my iMac.
When I try to use them in FC, those same files are missing a few framesat the end of the video.
    ie: Normal lenght: 28:28:00 ... Within FC: 28:27:12 ...
I have tried to import the same file in iMovie ... Now problem - I can preview file in full.
What's wrong with FC Express then ?

    >I have a few video file in .mov format
What does that mean?  The QuickTime '.mov' file extension merely indicates a container.  The audio/video streams contained within could be made from any number of codecs, many of which are not compatible with FCE.  Check to make sure the clip matches your FCE Sequence settings, including frame rate.  If not, convert the files and/or adjust your Sequence settings.

  • When exporting a .wmv in After Effects 5 the export adds additional black/Blank frames at the end

We are experiencing an issue where we or a client provides us with a video that is a .wmv video, exported from After Effects 5 and it adds almost a second of data less video.
What I mean by data less is the video renders out as WMV, 30FPS, 24 Bitrates (No audio) that is say 7 seconds long within After Effects. The moment it is rendered/exported, it is 8 seconds and shows 8 seconds in any program we import it to. That last second is empty, there is no frames, not even black frames, and when you preview the video in any program, you see the scrub bar, drop about 1 second before the actual end of the timeline.
I opened the video in Camtasia, and you can clearly see that at the end, it shows in the timeline (Video Editor), however there is no actual video.
I import the video in my company’s software, and I move the frame scrubber at the end, it says 'Unable to retrieve the requested video frame.'. If we import it to our software, it sees no frames for that second, and automatically loops and adds the first second of the video to the end.
Typically we only import uncompressed AVIs, but would like to know what this issue is.
    Windows 7 Enterprise
    64bit OS
    After Effects 5

I 100% agree about not being a fan of .WMV. We only recently added .wmv video support to our own program our clients use for importing videos and graphics. Our customer only used .wmv because it was on our list, and we are running into this issue.
Two different users (our own Graphic Artist, and our clients Graphic Artist) and we get the same result. We are 100% certain there is no video framerate mismatch in either of the AE files.
It would be interesting to see if anyone else using AE, if they could make a video few seconds long, export as a WMV and see if another program shows a whole extra second at the end, that has no data.
Thanks for your responses thus far.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 - Missing audio at the end of clips?

I'm running AME CS4 in conjunction with a Matrox H.264 accelerator card for MP4 encoding. Source material is .m2t and output is 720p as per YouTube spec.
I've been noticing recently that every other encoding job will chop a second or two of the audio from the end of the clip. ie. The audio will be fine until the last second or two of the clip, which is completely missing.
I'm lost when trying to figure out where to start troubleshooting. On a side note, I have noticed the same behaviour when transcoding .m2t files within Encore, which was part of the production bundle.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I cannot guarantee that it is not a software issue. Sometimes Matrox is an easy "target." However, with several other Matrox users having similar issues, it does seem that Matrox might be the common element.
One of the issues with troubleshooting Matrox issues with PrPro is that few of the normal responders here have Matrox. Many tried the cards, and most unplugged them for various reasons. Some, like me, have never used them. That kind of limits the responses here, unless a Matrox-user, who has addressed such issues successfully, drops by with some tips.
Good luck, and please update the thread, especially if you do get a "fix." Others will benefit, and I will learn something new!

  • Camileo X100 freezes using remote at the end of clip

I bought a Toshiba Camileo X100 a few days ago.
The camera is great, I like it very much.
However, there is a problem with the firmware I think.
The remote control is functioning, as expected, although there is no detail about its usage in the manual, I had to guess everything.
The problem is the following. If you go with the remote to play a clip, you wait for the end of the clip, and would like to go back to the previous screen, you press the Back/Cancel button on the remote (right bottom button).
If you do this, the camera freezes.
You have to switch it off and switch it on again to be able to use it.
The bug was confirmed by HRP Hungary (distributor and service in Hungary), we tested it together over the phone, so it should not be the problem of my specific camera.
What could you advise me on this?
The following issues are not bugs, but during playback it would be useful to be able to see somehow the details of the clips recorded (at least the time of the recording), and to be able to set some settings for recording, so that the camera does not forget everything at turning off (e.g. stabilization, or pre rec setting etc.).
Why do you have to have the screen open, when you are shooting a time lapse for a few hours, or during playback on TV?
    THX for any help.

    Hi there,
THX for checking. I also sent a letter to Toshiba, first they wanted to replace the camera, then I explained again that the replacement will work the same way, no answer since then.
What I ment during playback, is some information about the clips, e.g. the time, when the recording was made. Currently you only see the number of the file and the total number of files in the list, and the length + the number of the files when you are on one file. On other cameras you see the length, the time of the recording, the settings used. On Camileo X100, you see only the length and the basic setting, but no data on the time of the recording, or other metadata (e.g. stabilization focus...). It is not a bug, but would have been useful.
