Repeating rtf table bsaed on node value

Hi,
I'm trying to repeat a table in my RTF template based on the value of a node found in my xml. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Ex)
<start>
<name>bob</name>
<address>123 here</address>
<email>[email protected]</email>
<copies>2</copies>
</start>
Based on this example I would want 2 seperate tables with the same information in my rtf.

Alright, I've found a looping template that doesn't crash on me when I run it :D
BUT
When I go to preview it in pdf format nothing shows up.
The document is made up as follows ((in form field) means the text is in a form field's help text):
(in form field)
<xsl:template name="loop">
<xsl:param name="count" select="1"/>
<xsl:if test="$count > 0">
<xsl:text>
(/in form field)
| BIG FANCY WORD TABLE |
(in form field)
</xsl:text>
<xsl:call-template name="loop">
<xsl:with-param name="count" select="$count - 1"/>
</xsl:call-template>
</xsl:if>
</xsl:template>
(/in form field)
(in form field)
<xsl:call-template name="loop">
<xsl:with-param name="count" select="//COPIES"/>
</xsl:call-template>
(/in form field)
What am I missing?

  • Dynamic Tables: TableCellEditor depending on Context node value

    Dear community,
    I'm creating a dynamic table containing all the neccessary fields to display my context node in Java code but I have one requirement that I can not resolve by myself:
    Depending on the value of a cell the TableCellEditor should be of type IWDTextView or LinkToURL. So if the context node value is e.g. the String "abc" I want to display a LinkToUrl containing a Target - such as http://www.abc.com - depending on the value, if the context node value is "def" I want to do nothing but display the value in a TextView.
    As I am creating the dynamic table in advance and binding my Context node to it later, I don't know how to change the TableCellEditor at that point of time.
    Right now I have the choice to either display all cells of the column as LinkToUrl TableCellEditor or display all cells as TextView - the dynamic table generation itself is no problem for me.
    Does anyone have an idea on how to do that? Maybe it is not possible in WDJ right now?
    regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian
    Try this:
    IWDTable theTable=(IWDTable)view.createElement(IWDTable.class,"table");
    IWD TableColumn aColumn=(IWDTableColumn)view.createElement(IWDTableColumn.class,"col");
    if(str.equal("abc"))
    IWDTextView aField=(IWDTextView)view.createElement(IWDTextView.class,"TextView");
    aField.bindText(str);
    aColumn.setTableCellEditor(aField);
    else if(str.equal("def"))
    IWDLinkToURL aField=(IWDLinkToURL)view.createElement(IWDLinkToURL.class,"LinkToURL");
    aField.bindtarget("http://www."str".com");
    aColumn.setTableCellEditor(aField);
    theTable.addColumn(aColumn);

  • Populate field1 in table, based on dropdown value of a field2 in same row

    Hi Experts,
    I have created an offline interactive Adobe form and need help with java-script on events. I will describe my scenario below -
    I have written an SE38 report program which will generate the PDF. To pre-populate fields in the PDF, I have a structure Default_Values which has a few internal tables. One of the internal tables Employees has 2 fields Emp_Code and Emp_Name. I have written code to obtain a list of employees and populate this internal table Empoyees. I call the Adobe form and along with other parameters, pass this structure Default_Values. Thus all the default values along with the internal table Employees pre-populated with the Employee Code and Employee Names have been passed to the Context.
    In the Adobe form I have a table with 10 lines with Employee details (6 columns, 2 of which are Emp_Code and Emp_Name)
    In this table control, the column Employee Name is a drop down list. For this column, under List Items, I have created a binding to the internal table Employees with default values. This binding Items looks like this - $record.DEFAULT_VALUES.EMPLOYEES.DATA[*] with Item Text and Item Value having the value EMP_NAME.
    When I test the form, I can see all the Employee Names in the drop down list in the column Employee Name of the table control.
    My requirement is that when a user selects an Employee Name from the drop-down list, the field Emp_Code for that row in the table control should be automatically populated with the corresponding value of Emp_Code  depending on the Emp_Name which the user has selected.
    I am new to Java-scripts and Adobe forms. I have searched this and other forums, however I couldn't find the right code which I can place in either the Change or Exit event of the drop-down to accomplish this.
    Can someone please provide me with sample code to achieve this.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
    I would prefer not to use FormCalc for this requirement.
    Array Processing shall be done in Java Scripting and you simply cannot have two different scripting language elements in the same scripting block.
    First create a table type parameter in the interface or GT_* type in Global variable and pass all the necessary entries of dropdown to the table type parameter. Once included in the context it shall be available in your data view of the form.
    To access any repeating instance node of the form in the data view, use te following script -
    var theFields = xfa.resolveNodes(
                      "xfa.datasets.data.data.CUSTOMERS.DATA[*].NAME");
    assuming that you have a table named CUSTOMERS in the Data View.
    For more details on XFA Data Model refer to
    [http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/es/lcdesigner_scripting_reference.pdf]
    Hope these inputs help.

    from xml where id=1
    There is nothing returned.
    Please advise how could I get the node value when there is namespace?
    I know how to extract values if there is one namespace but i'm not able to extract values if there are two namespaces.
    Any help is appreciable!!
    Thanks in Advance.

    I fixed that problem too. What I thought was a singleton was actually a repeating element. I needed to be able to "multiply" the repeating node for the main node, but I couldn't find a concise way of doing this in SQL. So instead I did it in with two loops.
    FOR rec IN (
    SELECT
         extractvalue(value(e), 'surchargeEntry/company',p_namespace) company
         ,extractvalue(value(e), 'surchargeEntry/surchargeType',p_namespace) surcharge_type
         ,extractvalue(value(e), 'surchargeEntry/shortDescription',p_namespace) short_description
         ,extractvalue(value(e), 'surchargeEntry/longDescription',p_namespace) long_description
         ,e.column_value surcharge_entry_xml
         FROM TABLE(xmlsequence(extract(p_xml, 'surchargeInquiryResponse' ||
         '/surchargeAttributes/surchargeEntry'
                                                                                    ,p_namespace))) e
    ) LOOP
    FOR rec_country IN (
    SELECT
         extractvalue(value(c), 'country/originationCountry',p_namespace) origination_country
         ,extractvalue(value(c), 'country/destinationCountry',p_namespace) destination_country
         FROM TABLE(xmlsequence(extract(rec.surcharge_entry_xml, 'surchargeEntry/country',p_namespace))) c
    LOOP
    nafta_fee_obj.append_surcharge_entry_data(
              v_arr
              ,r_surcharge_entry(
              rec.company
              ,rec.surcharge_type
              ,rec.short_description
              ,rec.long_description
              ,rec_country.origination_country
              ,rec_country.destination_country
    END LOOP;
    END LOOP;
    I populate a collection, which is easy to pass around between routines. I can easily convert the collection to a ref cursor, and index-by array, comma-delimited string, etc.
    Apparently, the namespace is required in SQL, but not in staright PL/SQL.
    I've also noticed that the docs say xmltype() has all these member functions, but when I try to use some of them, I get an error that it's undefined. Like getNumVal(). There are some functions I can use in SQL, or PL/SQL, but not vice-versa.

  • How to call a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value

    Hi Gurus,
    Its about calling a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value.
    My requirement is like:
    I got a quote report from Siebel, based on the product PartNumber I need to pull product description or literature from another database database.
    My approach is something like; get a partnumber from quote report pass it to another rtf template which uses the partnumber and get the data from table using DataSource. When user pull a quote report from siebel this new rtf template should attach to the quote at the end.
    I've gone through all available blogs about sub-reports and white papers from Oracle they are not much helpful since I need step-by-step.
    http://www.adivaconsulting.com/adiva-blog/item/36-working-with-rtf-sub-templates.html
    bip-subtemplate-1-132933.pdf
    I'm using 10g obiee integrated with Siebel.
    Just started learning BIP.
    Thanks in advance.

    How to call a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value try in main template create hyperlink of url with parameters for another template
    http://bipconsulting.blogspot.ru/2010/02/drill-down-to-detail-or-another-report.html
    When user pull a quote report from siebel this new rtf template should attach to the quote at the end.it'll be only another report
    IMHO you can not attach it to main. it'll be second independent report
    you can try subtemplate but it's not about rtf from rtf by click
    it's about call automatically rtf subtemplate from main rtf based on some conditions
    for example, main template contain some data and if some condition is true then call subtemplate and place it instead of its condition

    Hi,
    you should also move
    JUCtrlHierBinding treeTableBinding =
    (JUCtrlHierBinding)((CollectionModel)treeTable.getValue()).getWrappedData();
    out of the while loop as this is not necessary to be repeated for each key in the set

    <TEST_TYPE>DBMS_RLS.DYNAMIC</TEST_TYPE>
    <LONG_PREDICATE>N</LONG_PREDICATE>

    Then I ran:
    select extractValue(xml_column1,'MY_TEST/TEST_NAME') policy from mytable1;
    There is nothing returned.
    If i do not have "xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ku" " in MY_TEST node, then the correct value returned.
    Please advise how could I get the node value when there is namespace? Thanks.

    This is a known issue. In the third parameter of extractvalue, set the namesapce. Then it works.

  • DOMException on setting node value

    Hi,
    I get the following error
    oracle.xml.parser.XMLDOMException: Node cannot be modified
    while trying to set the value of a newly created node as below:
    String eName="Mynode";
    XMLNode aNode = new XMLNode(eName, Node.ELEMENT_NODE);
    aNode.setNodeValue(eValue);
    How do I create a node whose value I can set later on?
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar
    null

    If you check the DOM spec referring to the table discussing the
    node type, you will find that if you are creating an element
    node, its nodeValue is to be null and hence cannot be set.

  • How create temporary table from list of values

    Can you anybody advise me how can I create temporary table from list of values? I have list of values and need create temporary table for next use with command JOIN etc.
    Thank you for help

    NO, you can not create temporary table in oracle on the fly ( Like #Tabels in SQl Server or Sybase ) , you will have to use the GTT i.e Global Temporary Tables
    check the following link GTT :
    to flush the tables after commit
    CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE my_temp_table (
      column1  NUMBER,
      column2  NUMBER
    ) ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS;In contrast, the ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS clause indicates that rows should be preserved until the end of the session.
    so to keep rows in Table after commit
    CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE my_temp_table (
      column1  NUMBER,
      column2  NUMBER
    ) ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS;

  • How can i change the color of a field in a table depence of a value

    Hi forum
          Is this possible to change the color of a row in a specific field of a table depends of the value of this field,,, for example if the value is equal or greather than 1.
    Thnks
    Josué Cruz

    Josue,
    Yes this is possible if you use the fillColor method. It requires R,G,B value of color.
    //Sample code which highlights cell2 in my table which has two rows.
    frm1.Table1.Row2.Cell2.fillColor = "120,120,120";
    // If you want highlight complete row.
    frm1.Table1.Row2.fillColor = "120,120,120";
    So now just apply an if loop which reads the input value as greater than 1 and use the code shown above.

  • How can I build a table with the time values of a timer from a while loop

    Hi:
    I have a question concerning building a table:
    Every 100ms I read a value from a sensor (while loop with a timer). I would like to build a table with the actual time and the concerning value. For example:
    0msec         1V
    100msec     2V
    200msec     3V
    300msec     4V
    etc.
    If I use the Express VI for building a table, I always get the date and time, but I don't need the date and the time is in the following format: HH:MMS, which is nonsensical for me as I can't differentiate within msec. Can I change the format anywhere?
    Can I also save the table to a file or even to an Excelsheet? How can I do that?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Craig:
    thank you very much. To solve the mystery : ) :
    I want to drive a stepper motor with a specific frequency. To get the current degree value of the motor I would like to measure the current time (from the beginning of the move on). (With a formula I get the degree value out of the time)
    Concurrently I would like to get data from a torque sensor and from a pressure sensor. That's why I asked you about the time and the table. The measurement should start with the movement of the motor. How can I do that? Right now I have different block diagrams (different while loops) (see attachment) and I would like to put them in one.
    I haven't done the block diagram for the pressure sensor yet, so there is only the one for the torque sensor and the one for the motor.
    I also would like to set a mark in the table when the voltage value of an analog input gets under a specific threshold value. Is that possible?
    I'm sorry, I'm a novice in LabVIEW. But maybe you can help me.
    Thank you very much!
    Steffi
