Replace a 3750G in a configured stack

I need to remove a configured 3750g out of a 7 unit stack. I want to replace it with another unit that is the same. How to keep the config correct an get the unit into the stack.

OK... It's not quite clear what you're aiming to do.. if you want to just swap a switch out like-for-like then just do it (with the stack powered up).
If you pull out the switch you want to replace, when you do show 'show switch' you will see the switch listed as 'provisioned' I think.
At this point, you can do one of a few things:
1) If you just want to swap out a switch (i.e. the current one if defective) then put in the replacement. It *SHOULD* come up in place of the existing one. If not check the switch is the same type/port count as before... if it comes up as switch 8, you may be able to enter 'switch 8 renumber x' where x is the old switch number to get it back the way it was before...
2) If you are trying to get rid of the old configuration, and install a switch with blank config or install a different kind of switch, then you can enter:
no switch x provision
Where x is the switch number, this will remove the old config.
Put in the new switch, and it should add to the stack as a new one... If you want to change the number of the switch you can use:
switch 7 renumber 4
This would make switch 7 switch 4 after a reboot forced by using :
reload slot 7
Hope this helps...

  • Material variant replacement in sales order for Configurable Material

    HI
I am using variant configuration. In this i have created material A as configurable material and have Preconfigured Material B as its variant by assigning configurable material in MRP 3 view.
Now when i am creating Order for material A i.e. Configurable material and the characteristics values are same as that of Preconfigured material system is not replacing Configurable material with Preconfigured material.
    Please help me out.
    Regards,
    Anand.

Even after maintaining the item category MTAC(Mills Make to order config at mat level), the configurable material is not getting replaced in the sales order (va02). It is just showing material variant exists for the configurable material.
The setting in item category for configuration is.
Config. Strategy     01(Sales Order Strategy (TAC, TAM))
Mat. Variant Action  4 (Replace configurable material (Append and change))
ATP material variant 2 (Do not substitute if not completely available)
Structure scope      D (Configuration, poss. with BOM explosion)
I have maintained the stock for material variant as well to take care of ATP material varinat setting shown above.
    Please suggest if missing something.

  • Replacement 6100G will not complete configuration

Received a new Westell 6100G modem for one determined by Verizon to have failed.  After clicking on the Verizon set up page I selected the "this is a replacement modem" and followed instructions.  The screen then showed that it was processing and advised a likely three minute wait.  After about 6 minutes a screen appeared stating that configuration could not be completed.  Have been without internet for about a week. Have spent many hours with tech support in India.  One tech determined that first modem had failed only after using for 10 days.  Don't know what to do now.  Need to have a repair tech visit to check the line and possibly install a cat 5 from network interface to jack..

Do the following to fix this. I don't know why they need to run an Activation Wizard these days with OpenPPPoE being so abundant!
Visit http://192.168.1.1/ and log in using the Default Username and Password of admin/password respectively if prompted.
Change the default password on the modem to something you will remember
Visit the following link: http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect.htm OR http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect (This one is if you have an ActionTec)
    Click Disable on the page.
BOOM Internet's back. Done in 2 minutes, no software but a Web Browser needed.

  • Mixed 3750G and 3850-X stack and Netfow module compatibility

    Anyone doing this?
I can seem to find any documentation regarding a mixed stack AND a netflow module.
If you have a pure 3750-X stack you can run the module in any switch - it doesn't need to be the master.  But what if half the switches are 3750's and half are 3750-X's?
Can it still read the flows of the older 3750's?

Just wanted to mention when you mix original StackWise with StackWisePlus, StackWisePlus falls back to StackWise mode.  I.e. you lose some of the "Plus" features.

  • Replace a failed stack member 3750

The master switch 3750- 48 in a 3 member stack failed today. Immediately the second switch assumed the role of master. We powered off the faulty switch and replaced it with another same model and OS version with a default configuration. This changed the status and now the stack member 3 shows as Provisioned ( the other two - the new master and the replacement) are shown as ready in show switch.
All ports on the new switch (Member 1) are working normally and same on master (Member 2). Ports on member 3 (shown as provisioned) have no access. How do I move it to ready status?
How do I check if the replacement switch has received the configuration from the stack? Does ready status mean that the config has been received?
    Thanks very much.

    Hello
    1) detached the provision new switch
    2) On the existing stack -
    conf t
    no switch x provision xxxxxx
    3) On new switch -
    switch x renumber 3
    reload
switch 3 priority xx ( lower than the existing master)
    shutdown
    4) existing stack -
    switch 3 provison xxxx
    5)
Attached new switch and power up
Make sure new switch has the same ios and feature set

  • Configuring Airport Extreme by replacing and old router configuration?

I have seen now a You Tube video explaining the possibility to install Airport Extreme and configuring it by replacing with an old router configuration. This will be my case because I have now a 3Com wireless router but Im waiting for a new Airport Extreme. What I would like to know is how to do that and what connections needed. If I understand well the explanations from YouTube, Airport Extreme must be connected to the internet through the ADSL modem but at the same time the old router must be turned on. It this correct?

What manual is that? Is it one that is available on Apple's website? I'm going to do a search for it.
You won't believe what happened. I just came up to check my email, and the Airport Utility just opened by itself and said it had found my AXn (which it had before also when I tried to configure it like you said to do). I went through the screens again and clicked Update yet again (like I had before) and instead of blinking yellow, the **** thing is solid green. I think I have a ghost in my house!!!
Well, thank you for all of your help! Do you have any insight into my other question about the AEBSn giving out a solid signal to my MBP, but when I click on Safari, it says that I'm not connected to the internet? I'm wondering if when I was setting up the AEBSn, the internet connection went to my computer instead of the AEBSn. I know I'm not describing this right, but it's like when I got my new iMac and tried to plug in the ethernet from the cable modem, it wouldn't recognize my iMac, but if I plugged it into my MBP it would. I had to reset the cable modem and then plug it in. The signal must have bypassed the AEBSn at some point and gone straight to my iMac (it's hardwired via ethernet cord from back of the AEBSn). It was broadcasting the internet signal at one point after my wife got it set up the first time because I was able to surf wirelessly on my MBP in the basement.

  • JavaScript code was missing (Configurator 2 file to 3)...

    Hi Everyone...
I just opened a Configurator 2 file in the new 3.1 and converted it to CS6.  Now I'm getting a "JavaScript code was missing" error when I attempt to run 'Image Processor' and 'Load files into stack' scripts.  These were working just fine previously.  Unfortunately we don't have an older backup of the Configurator 2 file.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?  A quick online search discussed a possible issue with the hard drive sharing the same name as something or other.  I can't see how it worked before and doesn't work now.  The only thing we did was open it in the latest version and convert to CS6.
Note: We have even tried removing the old button and have replaced it with the new Configurator 3 buttons.  Still doesn't work.
Very frustrating... and yes, it's my fault I didn't have a backup of the original Configurator 2 file.

You know... sometimes I just want to scream.
So after further digging I discovered, to my wonderment, that the two scripts in question have been effectively omitted (turned off).  Could someone at Adobe please explain to us why they would do this?  Pehaps you might want to put 'Several Features Not Available' in big bold letters on the download page before people like myself go downloading the latest and greatest only to have their workflow stunted by a clear flaw in the system.  One could safely believe that at the very least, all of the features of the previous Configurator versions would be present and working in the latest release.
Things like this add to my ever-decreasing loss of faith in mankind.
See below for the scripts that don't work... taken from the 'Known Issues' section of the Configurator 3.1 notes.  I'll be sure to always read the 'Known Issues' notes from now on, even though we shouldn't have to.

  • Order BOM process- material vairant for configurable assembly

    Hi,
I am working on multi-level material variants with order BOM process. The configurable header material and assembly should be
replaced by material variants after configuration is done. I configured the multi-level BOM explosion at sales order. After I configured the assembly, I executed type matching and a material variant for assembly was found. But the system didn't replace
configurable assembly with material variant automatically and I couldn't find any functionality to carry out replacement. The header material was replaced by material variant in sales order entry. However, while I tried to carried out technical processing to
create order BOM (CU51), the error message shows that I couldn't create order BOM due to the header material has been replaced
with material variant. Does anyone have experience at multi-level material variants with order BOM process? Please kindly help.
    Thanks.
    B. Regards,
    Nancy

    Hi ,
Could you pls explain the issue bit more clearly, As per my understanding you are using order BOM with variant configuration
    Is it correct ?
Check the configuration profile settings (  CU41 ) , did you selected the order BOM radio button

  • Nss326 defunct, how to re-create RAID6 on a replacement box

    hi,
is it possible to put all 6 disks from one box to another (spare box) and re-create the RAID6 without any data loss?
If it, how may I do this?

    TSI,
Sure but you wouldn't recreate the RAID 6. All data and volume is stored on the drives themselves. So as long as the replacement unit is on the same firmware. Simply by moving drives from one unit to another unit and just booting up. The replacement unit will read the configuration on all drives and boot up normally.
Make sure firmware is the same and each drive is number and put in it's proper drive bay and boot up. (THAT's IT)
    No extra configuration needed.

  • How to replace a broken component

    Hello,
Can anybody help me with this issue? For a returned product which needs repairing in Service, we need to be able to replace the broken component with another one, or to be able to add a new component to the product.
How is this handled in Service? What about Spares Management?
Do you have any useful documentation?
    Thanks,
    Silviana

Thank you for your prompt feed-back!
I have already done the flow you described above. I'm afraid I was not very clear when I exposed our problem.
We have a serialized finished good, a computer, for instance, which contains 5 serialized components. Using Depot Repair, a RMA was generated and we received the finished good back from the customer. We also were able to issue additional parts using Spares Management. But…the technician notices that a defective component of this finished good (the mother board for instance) must be replaced. The broken mother board has a warranty from the supplier, so the technician needs to receive it in the defective subinventory and then to send it back to the supplier. The technician will replace this component with a usable one. We need to be able to have a RMA for the serialized mother board, not only for the finished good. How can we track this business process using Depot Repair and Spares Management? I did not find any information about replacing a component of the finished good in the Spares Management and Depot Repairs user guides.
I must mention that in this moment we have Depot Repair configured using Tasks, but in case that this flow works only with WIP, we will configure it as required.
We also succeeded in replacing a component of a configuration (ATO Item), using OM and tracking this replacement in Install Base. But I read in the documentation that replacing a component using OM does not work for a finished good which is not a configuration. And anyway, it remains our biggest problem: the broken component is not received back in the defective subinventory, it remains at the customer.
Please help us with this business process.
    Thanks again,
    Silviana

  • Stack Power - 3850s

    Hi All,
I have 5 switches stacked and connected with stack power. I know you can only have 4 in a power stack so i was trying to create 2 stack profiles and put 3 switches in one power stack and 2 in the other.
I currently have the following -

I basically don't want to have one standalone switch. I tried the following below but didn't seem to achieve what i was after and I always seem to have one standalone switch. Does the physical cabling need to be amended as I have just followed the cisco doc when stacking the 5 together using stack power. For example Switch 1 Port 1 shows shut but when i enable this another one seems to shut on a different switch. Any ideas?
    stack-power stack Power-1
    stack-power switch 1
    stack Power-1
    stack-power switch 2
    stack Power-1
    stack-power stack Power-2
    stack-power switch 3
    stack Power-2
    stack-power switch 4
    stack Power-2
    stack-power switch 5
    stack Power-2

    Hi,
What I done was first of all was before building the stack or connecting any cables draw out what switch will be what member number and the priority.
I then configured this part on each of them individually ( for the numbering and priority commands).
When doing this, save the config and reboot.
Check the switch has the desired member number and priority using the show switch command then delete the old provisioning entry it has in the running config.
Commands to use at this stage are
    switch x renumber x
    switch x priority
Once happy, on the "master switch" provision the others via command line (again with switch not stacked at this point) e.g
    switch 1 provision ws-c3850-48p
    switch 2 provision ws-c3850-48p
    switch 3 provision ws-c3850-48t
    switch 4 provision ws-c3850-48t
    switch 5 provision ws-c3850-24p
I'm assuming you have the same software major version on each switches at this stage. I recommend running them in Install Mode also.
For the cabling - I followed this pattern but just add an extra switch..same for power.

For the power - this was a great help - as you might not even realise that the stack ports are in a shutdown state.

  • Replacing Interconnect interfaces

Today we have interfaces that synchronize customers and items between Oracle apps to other internal systems like web using interconnect. For example, when customer is created/modified, business event is raised and FTP adapter will subscribe the event -> generate a file -> sent it to internal server.
I'm looking into converting these Interconnect interfaces to SOA. In some cases mass update can occur. Our current interConnect interfaces handle mass updates very well. Can SOA interface handle mass update? We are generating an xml based file per customer or item. Can you give me your advise on the best way to design in SOA? Appreciate your feedback in advance.

    Fritz,
    I got two responses:
    1. Make the networking guys change their ports to auto negotiate!
    2. Place the following nxge.conf in /platform/sun4u/kernel/drv
These settings are working fine for a M5000 cluster using forced 100Mbit/FDX for cluster interconnect, change parent and unit-address accordingly
    # single line !!!
    name = "pciex108e,abcd" parent = "/pci@0,600000/pci@0/pci@9/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/pci@0" unit-address = "0,1" adv_autoneg_cap=0 adv_10gfdx_cap=0 adv_1000fdx_cap=0 adv_100fdx_cap=1 adv_10fdx_cap=0;
    # single line !!!
    name = "pciex108e,abcd" parent = "/pci@0,600000/pci@0/pci@9/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1" unit-address = "0,1" adv_autoneg_cap=0 adv_10gfdx_cap=0 adv_1000fdx_cap=0 adv_100fdx_cap=1 adv_10fdx_cap=0;
Be aware of the problem with Patch 138048-xx, though. It will replace nxge.conf, removing existing configuration"
