Replicate Data Workshop Export XML functionality

Does anyone know how I can replicate in an application the export functionality available in data workshop??
i.e. select table -> select columns ->export to xml
I have the first two stages complete, how can I take my selections and export to xml

Hi Kavi, You can have as many webservice data connections as you need in a PDF form as well as the XSD one, you can then bind directly to it or use the saveXML() loadXML() methods to update the XSD data connection. HTML DB - Exporting XML

I've been using HTMLDB for some time, and had occasion to need an XML output file.
As far as I know, all the XMLDB stuff is installed on my instance, but when I try to export even the most simple XML file I get:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
The following tags were not closed: ROWSET, ROW. Error processing resource 'http://nw-540-8172.corp.pcln.com:7778/pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept'.
Can anyone point me in the right direction in order to get this error resolved?

I was trying the data workshop export, but if I ever get past that, I'd like to know more about the XML template approach.
Some of the XML we need to generate is fairly complex, with repeating groups and such. We've been looking for the best way to perform those almost adhoc requests as well.

"Capture Exporter XML" is greyed out

Hi all,
I am trying to migrate an Access app to APEX, using the documentation that I see in the SQL Developer help page. I am going through the steps, and so far no problems.
I am able to run the Microsoft Access Exporter, that creates the XML file, and the next step says to click on Migration, Capture Exporter XML. But when I click on Migration, the bottom 3 options are all greyed out:
- Migrate Data
- Capture Exporter XML
- Script Generation
Has anyone else seen this? Did I miss a step, to be able to click on this option?

OK, it looks like maybe this is helping to point out the problem - when I run sqldeveloper this way, and then I try to do the "Convert to Oracle Model", I am seeing the following errors in the command window:

I have used "export to XML" functionality and "HTF.escape_sc" function to escape special characters.The query is as follows..

The output result in XML in APEX2.2 is absolutely fine , but when i moved the application to apex.oracle.com the XML report instead of '&' it is displaying "%26amp" .
Is there any problem with APEX3.3 .

Replacing special characters from where? Report? Replacing by what?
The code for the package is open. You may use the part in the package body:

Functions needed in Data Template for XML output

Are there any oracle functions like abs() available
in data_template to be used as follows

I want the absolute value of the amount .
OR
Can I HIDE the xml Element like

You can do this abs in Template.
use xdoxslt:abs or abs from xsl.
if you want the data in the xml to habe absolute value , then write pl/sql package to this .
<element name="amount" value="yourpcakage.yourabs(amount)"/>
or do it in sql query, which you dont want to.

Import/Export xml data from subtree of dynamic XFA form

We would like to import/export xml data (subtree) of a dynamic xfa form. The following script does only work with static AcroForms:

With dynamic forms the script does export an empty xml file (no data is included, only xml root tag):

The Problem that Daniel posted was originally mine. Now after subscribing to this forum myself, I try to describe the aim of using exportAsXFDF/importAnXFDF.
exportData("", false) and exportXFAData works, in my opinion, only with a DataConnection. In my form I have indeed such a connection for sending the whole form. But in addition I need the possibility to export and import only part of the data without overwriting the rest of the filled form.
exportAsXFDF works with static forms. So there MUST be a possibility that works with dynamic forms, right?
I hope anyone has a solution.

I need to export XML data into Excel output, the data should flow into multiple worksheet of the Excel file.
Let me know if this can be done using XML publisher. If yes, please provide me the steps to do the same.
Could not able to achieve this through by the below process:
(1)     Created a RTF (which has single excel table structure).
(2)     Generated the XSL file using XSL-FO Style Sheet.
(3)     Passed the XSL file and XML
which exported the data into an Excel (single worksheet) format.
Please let me know, how this can be exported into multiple worksheets.

IDOC (Source) to JDA data base(thru XML files)

Source structure is a IDOC. I have to pass IDOC data to Function module(Z function). it will return some hierarchy levels. (For example if it's generates 12 hierarchy levels), i have to pass each hierarchy level data to one XML file.
According to my understand source is IDOC and target is some intermediate data type. In between i am calling user defined function. it will generates the hierarchy levels and i have to pass the hierarchy level data to intermediate data type.
this logic is correct or not?
if this is correct how to pass data from user defined function to intermediate data type.

The limitation is specifically with viewing reports on the web. The trouble is that when you view a report in a web browser, we convert each graph on the report into a picture file, and display that picture in the HTML page. In this case, if you have one picture file on top of another, the top one will cover the bottom one. The only way to make it look transparent as it does in Crystal is to combine both charts into one picture. Unfortunately we don't have the ability to put two pictures into one file, that's simply one of our limitations. At this point the only work around is to export the report to PDF and view that instead.

Exporting XML from a container

Getting XML documents into an XmlContainer seems easy enough, but how do I get them back out again into XML? I don't see anything in API that will export the documents once they're placed in the containers.
The reason I'd like to do this is to use BDB XML with a source-control system. Basically, each user would check out a bunch of XML files from source control and create a local container. As changes to the XML files get checked in, they would update and re-add the changed XML files to their local container. When they make changes to their local xml data, I'd like to programmatically determine which documents changed (that part I can do myself) and then export those "edited" documents from the container back into XML format. Then the users can check in their changed documents.
This seems like it would work except that there's no way to export XML documents once they're placed in the XmlContainer. I suppose I could write my own exporter without great difficulty, but it seems like such a basic thing that I feel like I must be missing something somewhere.

Using a SQL data source and XML data source in the same template

I am trying to develop a template for the Request for Quote report generated in Apps 11.5.10. I have loaded the data from the XML output into the template, but I am missing one field - I need the org_id from the po_headers table. Is it possible to use a sql data source (i.e., "select org_id from po_headers_all where po_header_id = [insert header_id from xml data]...") in addition to the xml data source to populate the template at runtime? When you use the Insert > SQL functionality is it static at the time the template is created, or does it call to the database at runtime? I've looked through all the docs I could find, but this isn't clear.

Thats a tough one ... if you go custom with a data template you will at least get support on the data template functionality ie you have a problem when you try and build one. You will not get support on the query inside the data template as you might have gotten with the Oracle Report, well you could at least log a bug against development for a bad query.
Eventually that Oracle Report will be converted by development anyway, theres an R12 project going on right now to switch the shipped OReports to data templates. AT this point you'll be fully supported again but:
1. You have to have R12 and
2. You'll need to wait for the patch
On reflection, if you are confident enough in the query then Oracle will support you on its implementation within a data template. Going forward you may be able to swap out your DT and out in the Oracle one without too much effort.

For some time I have also been trying to do the same thing with no success. So far I have tried a few approaches like $.post functions $.ajax post functions and HTML5 fileWriter functions. I am not well aware of the web development techniques but as fas as I understand the post or update of the json file should be done on the serverside mainly because of security issues. I am not sure how appbuilder works entirely and if there is any way to do this.
Have you managed to find a solution ?
(P.S. my goal is to update my chart data which is of course json file. So the idea here is to get some values from the user input and update the json file values then refresh the chart and display it with the new values).

file and I don't know how to get the children in place... I mean, I
also have some data being received form a file that I can convert
into an array collection, but the thing is, that file doesn't have

Error of Creating Data Server for XML

When I want to create a new data server for XML in ODI, the error occur.
error information:
connection failed
java.sql.SQLException: Unexpected token: EMP_TABLE in statement [create EMP_TABLE]
My JDBC url is: jdbc:snps:xml?f=../demo/xml/MOP/MOPEMP.xml&rt=Export&ro=false&case_sens=true&s=EMP
It seems that the error is caused by the schema "EMP". But when I changed the name of schema, the error still occur...
Could you give me some advices about this?
