Replicate some tables from local database server to Remote database sever

how can i replicate some tables from local database server(Oracle 8.1.7 on windows 2000 server) to a remote database server(Oracle 8.1.7 on Sun Solaris)
whenever there is some insertion or updation on the table of base(main) database it should get updated to the remote database server
or
on time base for example: every 2 hours
please help me!!!!

It all depends on waht you are going to do with the data on the remote.
if tehre are no updates there, creating a simple materialized view on the remote to pull it's data from the local should suffice.
If there are updates on the remote, you will more than likely want to look into either Multi-master replication, or updatable materialized views.

I am witting an SSIS package to copy 2 tables from Ms SQL Server 2005 to an Oracle 10g database.
Problem: I can only see the Microsoft OLDB Provider for Oracle and it is too slow. How can I use the Oracle ODBC in aMs SQL Server 2005 or building a .net SSIS package.

Yes I am able to see the driver on the Data Source (ODBC), I also created a connection to the Oracle database. The problem in Ms SQL Server 2005 is that the ODBC connection I created is not listed. None of the lo local connections are listed, only Microsoft OLEDB connections

You can use rules and include them in the rule set, lets say you dont want LCR to be queued for table_1 in schema SALES, write two rules one for DDL and another for DML with NOT logical condition.

Migrate tables from Ms SQL Server 20005 to Oracle 10g

Hi all,
I am trying to migrate 10 table from Ms SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g. I started creating a SSIS package to transfer them but it always fail when it tries to create the tables.
Questions:
- Is there any other way to import Ms SQL Server 2005 tables to Oracle
- also I need to create a scirp that will update these tables periodically
any ideas?

If you want to restore a reomoved app,you need to use
Add-AppxPackage to add a signed app package (.appx) to a user account.
But we cannot extract them from the ISO.
The behavior is by design.And this is a software protection regime.

you could use the RFC-Modules RFC_READ_TABLE or RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES on server A.
Precondition: you need a RFC-Destination from B to A.
And a little drawback: you get only the first 512 byte of each table entry.

in order to copy data of more tables (more an hundred) from a SQL Server db to a SQL Server destination db I'd like to use the Transfer SQL Server objects task, but the source tables belonged to the dbo schema and the destination schema is a different
one.
It seems that this task doesn't provide a such option.
Any suggests to me, please?

Can iDSIE (Meta-directory) be used as a single authentication point from iPlanet Web Server for multiple databases using direct "or" indirect connectors?

Basically, the latest release of iPlanet Web Server forces the user/group information source to be an LDAP database. Currently, the user accounts are in Active Directory, NT, Oracle and NetWare Directory Service in this heterogeneous environment.
What I am looking for is a meta-directory product which can do two things:
1-Single authentiation point for users in mulitple databases from iPlanet Web Server.
2-Single administration point for all of the databases listed above.
For example, can I add/modify/delete a user account at the meta-directory level and have this propagate to all of the databases listed above reducing the administration to one meta-directory product?

Patch 121620-03 never downloaded from local patch server

When I run `smpatch analyze' on a patch client, it always lists
this patch:
121620-03 SunOS 5.10: Patch for mediaLib in Solaris
However, when I run `smpatch download' it fails with this error:
121620-03: Request to download update failed. Status code 500 returned. An unexpected error occurred inside the server that prevented it from fulfilling the request.
On the local patch server, I see this error in the logs:

MS SQL Server 2005 Remote Database Connection

Hello Friends,
I have a database in SQL Server 2005, i installed SQL server with windows authentication. Now when I tries to connect to the server using Type 3 jdbc. I downloaded jdbc 1.2 driver from,

okey i done with some experiment.
now i am able to do it from local machine with the following code

please help me its kinda urgent.

We have two external 1TB hard drives that until now have been attached the MBP for storage and backing up that computer, which up until now was the only machine in use. The MBA is for a new employee and we need to share and work on the same files, both here in the office and ideally remotely too via Back to my Mac. The MBP needs constant access. The MBA only occasional. The TC has 7.6.3 firmware and we've set it up using AirPort Utility 6.2. It is currently attached to the MBP via ethernet and it has internet access via a Sagemcom router attached to TC's WAN port.
We've managed to set up a wireless network and both have wireless internet access through the TC
But there are so many issues I don't know where to begin - so I'll start with a description of what we're trying to achieve:
I planned to use the TC as the main server drive and place all the key folders and files there so that both of us can access them wirelessly and remotely. The MBP would back up to the TC and to one or two of the external hard drives - one being attached to the Mac via USB and the other being attached to the TC's USB port. We would back up the important data on the TC using SuperDuper and copy it to both external USB drives.
So , first of all, is that a sensible configuration? Should the 'server' be the one of the external hard drives attached to the TC USB port, backed up regularly to the TC using SuperDuper?

But when you say 'So using USB drive does make sense if you want to use it as a file store', do you mean a USB drive plugged into the TC? I hope that I can attach an external drive to the TC so we can all access and read/write the content wirelessly via the TC network or remotely.
Yes, USB.. as it prevents the sparsebundle mixing with data files. I guess it does depend on how much data you are talking about.. you can use the TC internal disk if you are careful and setup the sparsebundle with fixed sizes once you create them..
And to be clear, I wasn't planning on backing up remotely via BTMM - only to access the shared folders on the TC data drive or USB external drive attached to it. I'm assuming that's ok?
Yes, that is fine. Sorry I got the impression you were going to do backup over internet.
What is the alternative? Having a Mac Mini that's always on? Do I need OS X Server etc.?
A mini would be great.. you don't need server edition.. but I would see how the TC goes.. since you have it and it is much lower power consumption device. It is just that its design is not really for file storage.
One big problem I have is to do with the sharing permissions. For everything on the TC or attached external drive attached to it, it says I have only custom access and every time I try to change permissions it says I don't have the permission to do that. And if I try to change the owner it says my user name is not valid.
How is the security setup on the TC?
The security is a bit tricky.. I must admit since I run windows computer in the network, that I simply turn on the guest account to read and write access. For a business setup that might not be adequate but it allows me full access to all the files.
If you setup the TC with user accounts then you are in trouble. That makes it very difficult to access, especially if one person already has the file open you may find a second user cannot login. I am not sure as I have avoided the security. IMHO it is meaningless.. since anyone with physical access to the TC can press the reset for one second and has full access.. and can add or change passwords.

Connection from the web server to the database which is situated in another machine.

I need to know, whether there shold be a physical connection between the web server and database machine? or can we connect to the database machine through the web, if the database machine has a domain name? if there is a physical connection, we can use the jdbc/odbc connection. but if we are connecting through the web, how can I estblish the connection using a JDBC/ ODBC connection?

As long as there's a network connection between the two machines, you should be able to make the connection. I'm not sure what the difference between a 'direct connection' and a 'connection through the web' is-- are you actually running a network cable from one machine to another?
When you cannot make the connection, are you able to do a 'tnsping' on the target database?
When you say 'connecting through the web', is it possible that you're going through a firewall? If so, the firewall may be blocking the ports you need to communicate on.

How to export a table from one oracle server to another oracle server?

Hi experts,
Scenario : Copying table T1 from Server1 to Server2.
Can I follow any of the following two options. Please advise if these options would be feasible under the current scenario.
1) Create the same table T1 in Server2. Export the values of T1 in Server1 to an Excel sheet. Make the Excel sheet as source and import the values of the excel sheet to table T1 in Server2.
2) Use an ETL tool like Oracle Warehouse builder to extract and load the values in T1 in Server1 to T1 in Server2.
Can we schedule both option1 & 2 as a job in Oracle Warehouse Builder? The job will have 2 steps :-
a) Delete all rows in T1 (Server2).
b) Insert the values from T1(Server1) to T1(Server2).
Please advise.

Can you exactly explain a little bit more what is the actual requirement.
Just to kick off the things..
In case:
1) you just need to create a table based on another table in same schema. Its as simple as : create table table2 as (select * from table1)
2) table1 is on remote db then
create table table2 as (select * from table1@yourdblink)
3) Need to export and import table1 refer this link :

Choose an approach. Then try it and see what errors you get, In case you get errors search on internet for that error code and how to resolve that and in case need any help post it here. But key is understanding first what exactly your requirement is and which approach you need/want to follow.
