Replicating a gorgeous Spry menu in other pages not working

Hi,
I've created a gorgeous spry menu in one of my pages:
http://agapemedia-international.com/test.html
Works perfectly.
Would like to copy this same menu over to the other pages of the site, so:
1.  Copied the css <link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />  into new html file
2.  Copied the <script src="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>  to the new html file
3.  Surrounded all the spry menu - essentially nested <ul>'s - with a div for easy copying
4.  Copied the div to the proper location in the new html file.
Here is that new file:
http://agapemedia-international.com/about2.html
Everything looks fine, but when I hover over, no drop downs happen.  Oh, and the lovely Spry Menu Bar widget nor the blue tab that calls it up doesn't show up in Dreamweaver editor either.  Is there invisible data that doesn't appear in the html code that wasn't copied?
Any brilliant ideas?
Thanks a million!
Peace,
Ben
PS:  I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Powerbook G4

I am having a similar problem, but pretty sure it is a newbie issue. I made a menu bar and then wanted to copy it to a second htm page.
I first put the cursor in the div region of the code where I wanted it to go and added a stock spry menu. Then I deleted the div-ul-/div code and pasted the custom menu code in its place. it appears, but does not drop down and lost some of the color attributes. When I place the cursor over it  in split mode, I do NOT see the Spry menu bar: assts in the upper left corner of the menu like I see on the index.html page. I'd like to copy the menu from the index.html to multiple subsequent pages. What am I doing wrong? Everything looks identical to me...

History: Dogfish Bay Studios<br>

Dogfishbay Studios were started in December of 2008 following a gift of ProTools M-Powered 8 to me from my son, Greg.
Presentient being that he is, he warned his mother that this  gift would probably be a very small part of the cost needed to set up the studio.
The studio was set up to provide me and my friends a way to record the songs we’d written, sometimes decades earlier, and to share them with
family and friends.  After three  years of recording we finally came to a point where we wanted to share the work with a broader audience
and that desire precipitated the need to create a studio name, a website, and a whole new set of skills.
<br><br>
This work reflects the generous collaboration of friends and family. The sale of the music is to support the musicians, the songwriters and
the continued survival of the studio. None of the contributors has been able to forgo the “day job” and all play for the love of it.
We feel blessed by all those who have taken the time to listen to our music and hope, whether you purchase it or not, that it brings to
the listener the kind of pleasure that it has brought to us in the making of it.

  • To create home page which consists of menu for other pages in a tree format

hi, i'm using Jdev 11g, i want to create one home page which having a tree format menu for other pages ,plz tell me

    Hi,
the tree structure must be defined in a tree model that you then associate as the value to the tree component. I think the best doc to start with is from Trinidada: http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/devguide/tree.html
Note that ADF Faces components base on Trinidad, so the docs can be used here as well. Also, while you are on this page, have a look at the XML Menu Model, which is a nice way of creating hierarchical structures in XML so the structure is not hard coded in a Java class

I created mega menu in adobe muse ( master page ) but the thing is when I preview that menu in other pages contents I already had created will overlap the menu. Is there any options that would fix that problem up. I'd like to have the menu overlap the contents. That does not happen on master page ( master page looks good ) Thank you very much.

Place the menu on its own layer above the rest of the page content.

  • Spry menu dropdown suddenly doesn't work

I've noticed my spry menu drop down has stopped working in browsers even though I've not touched the site and when I tried to view the structure in Dreamweaver, I found I couldn't select it. Can anyone enlighten me before I try to recreate the menu?

Sorry for the response, sometimes I get to the stage where I sigh and in a dismayed state say "Not another one" and my reactions become uncontrolled and uncalled for. "They are coming to take me away, ha ha! (Beatles 1960's)" sort of thing.
Hopefully, the above is sufficient for you to accept the apology.
    Now for you problem. Add
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    </script>
to immediately above the </body>-tag at the bottom of your document.
    Unrelated to your problem,
have a look at the 28 calls to images/menu_hme.css, a non existing document
the link to images/mm_css_menu.js, a non existing document
    the structure of the following
    <td><table width="90%" style="max-width: 1024px;" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">

  • Spry Accordian 2nd Panel Does Not Work in IE 8

Anyone have a suggestion on this. I created a two tabbed according panel to show content below and image using the XML data set feed to dynamically insert content. The content for the first panel shows up nicely and so does the tab for the second item, but when the second panel is clicked to reveal the content in IE8 the action works but no content is displayed. Additionally an error message comes up that says there is a problem on the Spry script called SpryData.js character 2 on line 169.
The according works nicely and content is visible on Safari, Firefox, and IE 7 but not in IE 8. This is the only browser that shows no content.
Any suggestions on a fix. I have looked online and in the forum but do not see any specific information on how to fix this other an "well you know it is IE".
Wish I had a link to show, but just undid my two hours of work when it was clear I could not get it to work but if you really need to see it in IE * to help me, I will redo it all and post a link.
Thanks in advance for seeing if you can help.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I ended up fixing it myself and here is what I did. I had upgraded my Spry to the new version and it still was broken. I had a test version that I had done in a class that worked in IE but mine as I integrated it into my own website would not work. I found that by loading the old xpath.js file from my testing class files I was able to get the panels to work in IE all versions, Firefox, Chrome and Safari on my new page.
I am not sure why the new upgraded version of the Spry xpath.js file would not work, go figure, but after literally hours on it and reviewing and validating the code there was nothing on my end that would cause the problem.
Here is the finished and completed page. http://www.mccordweb.com/web-design/portfolio.php
If you have a similar problem you can grab the xpath.js file that works for me better than the new version xpath.js here: http://www.mccordweb.com/SpyAssets/xpath.js
I don't clearly understand why this is a problem but the old file solved the issue.

  • Spry MenuBar/TabbedPanels/Accordion Javascript Not Working in IE8

As you've heard, Adobe removed the links to the Spry API files (http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/08/update-on-adobe-spry-framework-availability.htm l).
My question is: If I link to a remote file, then my spry menu bar/accordion/etc. work in IE 8 properly. If I link to a local file (same content as the remote file though!!), then my spry menu bar/etc. don’t work on IE 8.
Because the remote files are no longer available on Adobe's API site, I had to change all my links and make it linked to SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar (for instance) on my local web server instead. HOWEVER, this doesn't work for IE8.
Why is that? WHy is it necessary to link to a remote file? http://spry-it.appspot.com/ works for me too because it’s remote (however, the file accordion is not available it seems!). But what if they change their link again in the future or remove the link?
    Please help!
The website is www.compex.com.sg (please have a look in IE8!!)
    Thanks a lot!

You might want to cut your losses right now and switch to a different widget framework.
Personally, I never liked Spry.  I've been using jQuery for quite some time.
If you want to get it done fast with professional results, look at Project Seven's products. They are rigorously tested to perform well in modern devices. If you need it, their customer support is excellent.

  • After upgrading to maverick; help & other functions not working

After upgrading to maverick; help and other functions not working?

Sometimes just closing and reopening the Help window will clear up the problem. If it doesn't, log out or restart the computer and try again. Otherwise, you may need to delete the Help cache.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpd
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Move the selected folder to the Trash. Log out, log back in, and test. Help pages will be slow to load at first.
If that doesn't work, the problem may be caused by network conditions. It may go away by itself, though I can't say how long you should wait.
A persistent failure to load help data has been reported as an issue with satellite networks. Test on a different network, if possible. I've also seen at least one report that Photo Stream in iCloud can mysteriously interfere with Help. I'm not sure whether that's true, but try disabling Photo Stream, if applicable.*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

I filled out the form and when I click the button at the bottom that says "Review and Submit" I get a page not found error.  Someone at Adobe please help!

If you still get that Page Not Working error, try the same with a different browser and check.

  • Linking spry menu to all pages on my site

Hi everyone, i'm a total novice when it comes to web design but i'm really interested in how it all works and have been playing around with dreamweaver cs3 practicing & learning how things work
things were going pretty well until i hit on a problem with the spry drop down menu
the problem i have is, when i attach my default style sheet to other html pages the spry drop down menu doesn't appear on the other pages i want to link to.
so my question is, how do i get the spry drop down menu to appear on all the other pages on my site as well as the page i'm currently working on.
apologies if it's such a simple question, but as i say i'm totaly new to dreamweaver, and i've spent the last 48 hours trying to work out the problem, looking at youtube tutorials etc. but all to no avail
thanks in advance for any help offered, it'll be much appreciated
or if anyone could point me in the direction of a youtube tutorial i could watch that might explain what i'm trying to do

I have made over a dozen web sites with iWeb and am very clear as far as how you navigate links to your pages. I tried clearing my web browsers cache but to me that is not a solution because by that rationale I would have to make sure anyone who ever looks at my website will need to empty their cache. Which is something I never have to do with any other website I look at so why with iWeb built sites?
I have wiped the entire web design off twice and redone the entire site from scratch and the same thing happens. I check and double check that the navigation is correct but it still does it. It makes absolutely no sense. I am fed up. AHHHHHH!
But thanks for the reply regardless.

I've created a page with a horizontal spry menu bar, and have edited it according to how I want it to look.. Brilliant!. The problem I have is I want the exact same menu bar on multiple pages but using a different colour scheme for a couple of the pages!. Is this possible? Thanks

I am sorry, but I do not see that you have added the suggested code to the document as per
