Report based on Procedure
Hi All,
I have a discoverer report based on a function, function is executed and insert the Data into Global Temporary table. When I try to execute the Function in one Discoverer TAB and Display the Data by SELECTING FROM Global Temporary table in another Discoverer TAB, Data is displayed but when I try to execute the function from same Discoverer TAB and try to select the data, it displayes no rows.
Please let me know how to accomplish this in one discoverer sheet instead of TWOS..
Thanks

Calling a report from a form based on procedure
I created a form based on a procedure.
It is a entry form where the user is selecting or enters data then on submit I must display the report based on selected data.
I know I can simply create a report with all bind variable and do the job.
My question is what is the syntax to call the report from the procedure for the selected parameters values.
Thanks
LawrenceIf you want to display other HTML page after successful submission, you need to use
either go or call method.
I created a form on SCOTT.EMP and a report on SCOTT.EMP and the report accept a parameter for
the deptno. Here is my on successfull submission code:
declare
l_dept number;
l_url varchar2(2000);
begin
l_dept := p_session.get_value_as_number('DEFAULT', 'A_DEPTNO', 1);
l_url := 'scott.rpt_mask_1.show?p_arg_names=emp.deptno&p_arg_values='| |l_dept;
go(l_url);
end;

Report based on stored procedure
I want to create a report based on stored procedure(not ref cursor!!!!!)
For example - Invoice report with data with complicated rules:
1.line - product_name and price
2.line - annual fee name and price
3.line - some special fee name and price
4..............
5..............
[b][b][b]Is it possible or not?
We can solve the problem using functions, i.e. select line_1_1(param),line_1_data2(param6) from dual union all and select line_2_1(param1,param2),line_2_2(sysdate) from dual and so on, but I am looking for better solution.
We also can use stored procedure to populate data into temporary table, run report and clear the data in the table after that, but database is read-only for users and we don't want to change the security roles.
Thanks in advance.

T-code or SAP Table Sales report based on Document Pricing Procedure
Hi Experts,
Please suggest me some SAP Standard T-code or Sales Report based on Document Pricing Procedure and Sales Area.
Or suggest me SAP Table for the above mentioned combination. Thanks in advance.
With Best Regards,
Bharat BHi
There is no standard t code available. You have to go for Zee using the below tables
first you need to get the VBAK-KALSM(Pricing procedure)or VBRK-KALSM next you have to pass the VBAK-KALSM to table T683V-KALSM(field) now you will get all the Document Pricing Procedures (KALVG) assigned to these pricing procedures along with sales area.
So using these tables you can get the required data.

Reports based on PL/SQL Procedure/Function
Hi all,
After some serious Google and forum searches, it appears as if this is something that just isn't possible (or easy to do).
I've been charged with creating an APEX application that displays reports. There are a series of Procedures that will be written to return a result set, updated to take into account some filters that a user would provide. The key here is that the report won't be displayed until AFTER a user inputs some filters on a form and hits a Submit button. The project requires this functionality - allowing the report to be displayed and THEN filtered using the APEX IR Control is not desired (not my decision).
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to define a report in this manner. It appears that the query for a report query needs to be known ahead of time.
So, with that setup - is there a way to define an APEX report based on the return result of a PL/SQL function? OR is there a way to define a report using a SQL Query that is built based on user inputs?
Any help would be appreciated.

Help: Creating a report based on STORED PROCEDURE in Oracle DB
Hi,
We are creating an application with FORMS and REPORTS. A set of stored procedures were created for the FORMS and the ref cursor from the select statement are the same for the REPORTS.
Is there a way that directly use relevant stored procedure to create REPORTS and how?
Thanks in advance.
JimmyWhat I am really interested in is calling STORED PEOCEDURE in DB, not the one that attached with report. What good about this is that the procedures can be shared by FORMS and REPORTS. REPORTS call the procedure with select statement.
Thanks. -
Column link in interactive report to run procedure and refresh
I have an interactive report which displays a report based on a table. This is a summary table populated overnight from some complex spatial analysis, which takes a few hours to run. I have a requirement to allow the user to refresh one row in this table - they would do this during the day if they needed to see the most up-to-date values.
I have a package with two stored procedures - one which does the full refresh of the table, and one which refreshes one row when PK is passed in.
One of the columns in the table is 'last_refreshed' which is a date - this is shown in the interactive report including minutes.
I was thinking that maybe I could include a hyperlink on this 'last_refreshed' date column in the report. When a user clicked on it, it would run the stored procedure for that row and would refresh the report.
Any ideas on how I could do this? I've hit a bit of a dead end for now.
ThanksOK, I worked it out.
I created an application item to store a global variable.
Then in the column attributes of the report, I set the 'last_refreshed' to be a linked column, setting target to the current page and then setting the application item global variable to be the row PK.
Then I have a Process which runs the required stored procedure reading the application item global variable, set to run on page load.
Sorted. -
How to create a report based on selected item from Select list?
Hi,
I have created a tables_LOV based on:
select table_name d, table_name r from user_tab_cols
where column_name like '%_type%'
Then I created a page item ListOfTables, Display as select list and pointing to tables_LOV.
I run the page, and i can select the table i want from the drop down list.
How to create a report based on the selected item? (ex: select * from selected_table)
many thanks in advance
SalahHi Salah,
Allright, have a look at this page: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=vincentdeelen:collection_report
I think that simulates what you're trying to accomplish. I've set up the simplest method I could think of.
The report is based on an apex collection. If you are not familiar with that, you should study the documentation: APEX_COLLECTION
To recreate my example you should:
1) create an (interactive) report on your collection
SELECT *
FROM APEX_collections
WHERE collection_name = 'MY_COLLECTION'
2) create a page_item select list for the tables you want to display (in my case this is called "P38_TABLES" )
3) create a dynamic action that triggers on change of your select list page_item. The dynamic action must be a PL/SQL procedure perfoming the following code:
declare
l_query varchar2(4000);
begin
l_query := 'select * from '||:P38_TABLES;
if apex_collection.collection_exists
( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION' )
then
apex_collection.delete_collection
( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION' );
end if;
apex_collection.create_collection_from_query
( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION'
, p_query => l_query
end;
Make sure you add your page_item to the "Page Items to Submit" section.
4) Add an extra true action that does a refresh of the report region.
Here are two pictures describing the da:

How to generate a report from stored procedure
I would like to generate a report from stored procedure.
I used to work on sql server. this can be done as easy as put a select statement at the end of stored procedure.
The resule can be displayed on the development IDE, like sql developer or consume by Java JDBC client.
is there equivalent way to do this in Oracle stored procedure?Hi,
What type of report you are looking..for.. ??
As you said that "I used to work on sql server. this can be done as easy as put a select statement at the end of stored procedure. "
When you execute it will return the result set and you will display directly on the FrontEnd.. Is my Understanding is correct Up to here.
See, In oracle you have call some custom stored procedures as you did in SQL Sever, but you have return the Results Sets, with help of Out put paramter, Either Cursors or Varrays..
or Else you can generate the Html reports based on your requirement, HTML can be used in the stored procedures of Oracle which will generate for your, you need to code it.
I could not able get the relevant link for your reference.
I will get back to you on this.

Can someone help me on this please?Hi Jaigi,
According to your description, you want to change a report server database for Reporting Services. But it fails on the last step and returns a error. Right?
In this scenario, it seems you are creating a report server database on another server via remote connection. Based on the error message, it has issues on executing the script for generating new database. Please check if you have permission to connect the
server and create a new database. Also please check if the Reporting Services Windows services is working properly.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Crystal Reports Based on SAP Function Module and Transperant Tables
Hi,
I need to develop reports based on SAP trasperant tables and to filter the records I require to use one of the function module in SAP.
I have created parameters in Crystal reports that are required for the function to execute and are included in the where clause of the query. This helped the fuction to get those parameters and execute it.
The thing is that the fuction works fine with one set of parameters and gives accurate results both in SAP and Crystal Reports.
But fails for other set of parameters.
It works fine when we directly execute function in SAP produces a record set. But, when we pass those parameters from Crystal Reports it fetches no data.
Can anybody tell me the exact procedure to use function module and transperent tables together in Crystal Reports ?
Thanks in Advance.
Niwas JoshiHi,
This is going to be hard to explain, however you need to recognize that the function has input and possibly output (export) parameters. Crystal Reports is able to work with these parameters. However it is up to you to figure out how these parameters are used effectively to give you the correct results when joining the function with other data sources such as transparent tables.
If you're using transparent tables and functions in a Crystal Report, then you need to link these objects in such a way so that a left outer join for example is using the function's output parameters to join to the transparent table equivalent fields. However if the table is the starting point then the joins from the table should join the Input parameters of your function.
you can set these joins in the Database menu | Database Expert | Links of Crystal Reports. -
How to create a report based on a DataSet programatically
I'm working on a CR 2008 Add-in.
Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
The report has no tables.
So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.
I found the following article: https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/869, and came up with something like this:
internal class NewReportWorker : Worker
public NewReportWorker(string reportFileName)
: base(reportFileName)
public override void Process()
DatabaseController databaseController = ClientDoc.DatabaseController;
Table table = new Table();
string tabelName = "Table140";
table.Name = tabelName;
table.Alias = tabelName;
table.QualifiedName = tabelName;
table.Description = tabelName;
var fields = new Fields();
var dbField = new DBField();
var fieldName = "ID";
dbField.Description = fieldName;
dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
dbField.Name = fieldName;
dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
fields.Add(dbField);
dbField = new DBField();
fieldName = "IDLEGITIMATIEBEWIJS";
dbField.Description = fieldName;
dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
dbField.Name = fieldName;
dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
fields.Add(dbField);
// More code for more tables to add.
table.DataFields = fields;
//CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo info =
// new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo();
//info.Attributes.Add("Databse DLL", "xxx.dll");
//table.ConnectionInfo = info;
// Here an error occurs.
databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
ReportDoc.SetDataSource( [MyFilledDataSet] );
//object path = @"d:\logfiles\";
//ClientDoc.SaveAs("test.rpt", ref path, 0);
The object ClientDoc referes to a ISCDReportClientDocument in a base class:
internal abstract class Worker
private ReportDocument _ReportDoc;
private ISCDReportClientDocument _ClientDoc;
private string _ReportFileName;
public Worker(string reportFileName)
_ReportFileName = reportFileName;
_ReportDoc = new ReportDocument();
// Load the report from file path passed by the designer.
_ReportDoc.Load(reportFileName);
// Create a RAS Document through In-Proc RAS through the RPTDoc.
_ClientDoc = _ReportDoc.ReportClientDocument;
public string ReportFileName
get
return _ReportFileName;
public ReportDocument ReportDoc
get
return _ReportDoc;
public ISCDReportClientDocument ClientDoc
get
return _ClientDoc;
But I get an "Unspecified error" on the line databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
What am i doing wrong? Or is there another way to create a new report based on a DataSet in C# code?Hi,
Have a look at the snippet code below written for version 9 that you might accommodate to CR 2008, it demonstrates how to create a report based on a DataSet programmatically.
