Report Builder 3.0 and Report Parameters with Available Values - do a LIKE expression?

I would like to write an expression based on a @Status parameter that includes the labels you see in the diagram.  My problem is that in the field Status - that includes these data results of Issued, Cancelled and Finaled - data entry is not consistent
so I would like to do a like expression for the value - something like this Issued would be "Is*" or Cancelled would be "can*" etc. however I keep getting error statements and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hi KittyCat101,
If I understand correctly, you want to use a parameter to filter Status field that starts with “Is” or “Can” or “Fi”. If in this scenario, we can refer to the following steps to achieve your goal:
Modify the available values for @Status parameter to “Is”, “Can” and “Fi”.
Right-click the tablix or dataset to open the properties dialog box.
Select Filter in the left pane, then add a filter like below to filter Status field:
Expression: =Fields!Status.Value like (Parameters!Status.Value & "*")  Type: Boolean
Operator: =
Value: true
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Report Builder 3.0 - Not enough storage is available to process this command

I have a customer who uses Report Builder to create adhoc reports against a SQL data warehouse.  However, users intermittently encounter the exception "Not enough storage is available to process this command", which appears to relate
    to creating/drawing the report.
It would appear that a user can define the required Report SQL, run the report and export it to Excel.  However, on occasions, when the user reviews/amends the report SQL, or specify a new value for a existing report parameter, and then try to run the
report, they get an exception, as per the snippet below:-
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Not enough storage is available to process this command
at System.Drawing.BufferedGraphicsContext.CreateCompatibleDIB(IntPtr hdc, IntPtr hpal, Int32 ulWidth, Int32 ulHeight, IntPtr& ppvBits)
       at System.Drawing.BufferedGraphicsContext.CreateBuffer(IntPtr src, Int32 offsetX, Int32 offsetY, Int32 width, Int32 height).
The error can also occur after trying to re-export the report to excel. In this case the export works.
In all cases, the user is given the option to continue or quit, but clicking continue just causes the error to be re-displayed so the user has to quit Report Builder and re-open it..
We have monitored the user's resources (citrix session) and they are not using all their RAM or temporary folder space.

    Hi jocelyn,
As per my understanding, you got the error on occasions when you change the parameters to run the report, export it to excel or preview the report, right?
Did your report have large amount of rows or columns or did you have image or chart in the report? Did this issue happened on the other reports too?
Your issue can be caused by many factors:
If you have some image or chart in the report. Based on the callstack crashing at System.Drawing, it looks like GDI+ may be a problem. Make sure you have the latest updates installed for GDI+. The interaction of the content of the report with GDI+
may also be something to investigate. If you have many images in the report, each image is a distinct GDI object and could potentially cause a problem.
It also probably running out of space on your computer, so you may need to check the space on your c: drive. If you are running out space, you can try to reboot the computer or delete a few things or somehow getting a bigger hard drive to check the
    issue again.
If the issue only happend on this report, I recommend you to recreate an same report to have a test.

  • Difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013

Hi, We are building company site with Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Edition and were wondering what is the difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013? What are the roles/purposes of each one? What
happens if only Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode  installed or vise versa.
    Thank you in advance

Reporting Services in SharePoint mode is a service for displaying, managing, and creating SSRS reports within SharePoint. The addin is a pre-req for SharePoint that is used to display reports and is required for Reporting Services in Native or SharePoint
mode, but does not by itself do anything.

  • Difference between Reports in normal ABAP and Reports in CRM

    Hi Experts,
I am new to CRM. Can someone tell me the Difference between Reports in normal ABAP and Reports in CRM.
It will be very useful if someone explains with example.
Some where in SDN i read in CRM we should not select statment. Then how to fetch data?
Please give me more basic concepts about CRM programming.
    Thanks,
    RAGU

    Hi Ragu,
You can find much information at http://service.sap.com/crm-inst.
Go to Installation & Upgrade Guides -> SAP Business Suite Applications -> SAP CRM
Check the CRM version in which you are working and get the documents.
FMs are specific to the requirement. Like all Business Partner related FMs generally start with BUPA* or BAPI_BUPA*.
For CRM transaction data you can get info using FM CRM_ORDER_READ. To create a new transaction use CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN and CRM_ORDER_SAVE.
More information can be fetched by surfing through the SDN threads and checking in SE37 t-code.
    Hope this helps!

  • Reporting with Report Builder 3.0 and SQL Server 2008 R2

    Hi everyone
I'm trying really hard to find books about Report Builder 3.0 or SQL Server 2008 R2
I found the following books on the "learn" site, sadly they do not cover Report Builder 3.0 or SQL Server 2008 R2 since there all too old.
Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Analysis Services Step by Step
Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 MDX Step by Step
Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Reporting Services Step by Step
What are good books (like the ones above) for the newest system?

    Hello wishmasterIN,
Thank you to post your question on TechNet forum.
Based on my experience, the books are always delayed to the new technology, since the author need time to summarize and analyze the new features in the new product or technology, write it down and publish it. If you want to have a quick learning about the
new technology, MSDN library is a good place. It can be a cookbook for you. It contains some detail steps for tools, such as Report Builder or BIDS. It also contains many new features introduction. It is always very useful for you to understand the new features.
In addition, it is based on web and many links make you can jump to the other technical point freely. The most important is all of these is free and all the information will be updated if the new feature is released.
In short, if you want to learn the latest technology about Microsoft product, MSDN is a good choice. I hope my introduction is helpful to you.

  • Need help understanding MS SQL Server 2008R2 and Report Builder 3.0 and user access / priviledges.

Having Problems with connections and access.  I have spent the last 2 days reading various threads regarding SQL Reporting Services pertaining to access and connections.
First, let me explain what I have done to date.
    1)  I am using Windows 7 - Home Premium.
    2)  I downloaded and installed MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Express.  This was successful.
    3)  I downloaded Report Server 3.0 - This was successful.
    4)  In IE, I tried logging onto http://servername/reports, but this failed.  After logging into IE
via ' Run Administrator', I was able to access URL.
Next, I updated the security / trust sites as explained in the
    threads
Next, I went to Folder Setting and added my user name and granted all roles (Browser,
    Content Manager, My
    Reports, Publisher and Report Builder).
    5)  Now, I can log into Http://servername/reports using my normal windows 7 user account.
    6)  Next, I opened Report Builder 3.0.  However, I am having trouble connecting to report
    server.  I tried connecting with
    http://servername/reports, but this failed.
However, If I change URL to http://servername/reportserver, it works.  BUT NOW, I have
    another problem.  When I
execute the RUN button to create report, I get a  permission
error.  "PERMISSION GRANTED TO USER ARE
    INSUFFICIENT FOR  PERFORMING THIS OPERATION".
    7)  Finally, I can not save reports to http://servername/reportserver when I select "Recent
    Site and Servers".  ERROR
MESSAGE:  UNABLE TO OPEN OR SAVE REPORT
    8)  In my Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
    Web URL = http://servername:80/ReportServer
    Report Manager URL = http://servername:80/reports.
What is strange, the Report Manager URL works for IE URL and WEB URL works for
Report Builder connect (Even though it really does not work).
    THREE QUESTIONS:
    1)  What URL should I use to connect in Report Builder.
    2)  How do I update my normal Windows 7 user so I can run reports when I connect to report
    builder.
    3)  How can I save my reports so they are displayed in IE Reporting services.  Note:  I was
    able to save report to
documents folder and import into IE Reporting Services.
    4)  And finally, is it possible to add report builder 3.0 as a tab in my IE Reporting Services.  I
save seen samples of Reporting Services screens where the instructor has Report Builder
    tab.
    Thanks
    Dan

To answer question 1... it should connect through /ReportServer
    http://bretstateham.com/reporting-services-architecture-diagram%E2%80%A6/
Report Builder 3.0 is not a web application, it is a client side application can be used using the click-once or downloaded from Microsoft's website.  If you are having issues, you might download and install it and try running it as an administrator.

  • HELP: Reports Builder 9iDS Rel2 and SQL Server 2000

    Hi,
I need to connect to a SQL Server 2000 database from within Report Builder (for a proof of concept) and I am getting error 62000-Failed to connect to datasource.
    Can you help?
My OS is Windows Prof 2000.
I have Downloaded Oracle 9iDS Rel2 and Oracle 9i AS J2EE and Web Cache. They are installed in the same Oracle Home.
I have modified the REPORTS_CLASSPATH with the datadirect jar files and the j2ee oc4j.jar.
The oc4j.jar is in my system classpath.
I have added the classpath definition with jars to my rwserver.conf.
I start Report Builder select JDBC Query
    enter my connect info:
    Username: user
    Passowrd: pwd
    Database: dbname
and select the merant-sqlserver driver from the list.
    What am I doing wrong?
I have been at this a week can anyone help?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jeanne
    1. When you run the report to paper design from builder, you need to add the necessary jar file of driver to REPORTS_CLASSPATH env variable in registery.
    2. To run the report from report server and to generate to file from report builder, you need to add the jar files via classPath attribute of engine element in server/builder conf file. It would be like this
    <engine id="rwEng" .....classPath="<yr classpath>" >
    3. Have a look at jdbcpds.conf file in OH/reports/conf dir. This file need to have the driver information for the driver you are using. The entry here also specifies the connect sting format which is required by the driver. You need to refer to driver doc for connect string format.
Once you have all this set up ready, run the report. You need to mention the connect string in same format as specified in driver info in jdbcpds.conf file.
    Try this.
    Thanks
    Rohit

  • Reg: Report on GR Returns and IR Returns with PI 2005.1 700

    Hi,
I would like to report on GR Returns and IR retuns from Purchasing Datasources i.e. 2LIS_02_SCL(total returns).
I created GR with 101 movement and GR with 102 movement. I checked in RSA3, i could see data with Procecs Key 002. But, i don't see any entry with process key 006. <u>Does any body investigated how these process keys attached to document changes? am i missing some thing?</u> I can able to calculate Actual Delived Qty and Invoice Qty, but i could't able to calculate total GR and IR Returns?.
We are on ECC 6.0 and PI 2005.1 700 and BI 7.0 .
Does any body have any idea about this.
Note: as of now i don't want to look into IM for return quantity. we don't have any Plans to implement IM.
    Thanks in advance!
    Nagesh Ganisetti.

    Chetan,
Both notes won't help... as you didn't understood my Issue. I was able to get actual Delivered or Invoiced Qty or Values. 1st won't help in my Case (This note is for how to calculate Invoice or GR value with Current Exachnge Rate instead of Original Exchange Rate).
I did all the settings for Purchasing. Some reason i couldn't able to generate any Entry with Process Key '6' or '7'.
Any idea where these process keys attached to these Documents. I want to debugg this, as you know i need to debugg while filling setup tables.
I would be very happy if you can share any Document on BI Objects Naming Conventions (Query or Cube or any BI Object).

  • Application doesn't work after build (database toolkit and report gen toolkit).

I wrote an application using database toolkit and report gen toolkit to retrieve some data from a database,  put into a Word doc, save the Word doc and print it.  It works fine when I run the vi, but when I build and run it, it does nothing.   I have tried all of the settings in Projec Manager that I think might help but it still won't work right.  Labview 8.2.1, XP.
    Thanks,
    Charlie
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the help.  I finally abondened the Word append table and used the regular report gen append table and got it to work fine.  The error was 214682314.  That led me to the thread about column numbers must vbe between 1 and 63, but like I said, my coulumn number is 7 so don't know what is going on.  Anyway I got the vi to work and do what I want so I guess now the problem is solved (moot).

  • Report display is different in report builder, local oc4j and app server

    Hi guys,
we upgrade reports from sql report writer into report 10g. In the report 10g builder,
the report format looks fine. but if i use the url as below
    http://applicationserver/reports/rwservlet?report=test.rdf&userid=username/password@service&desformat=pdf&destype=cache
so the format will be mess up whatever i use this url in my local oc4j or i deployed it into 10g application server. and the format is different in oc4j and application server. Why this issue happend?
    Thanks in advance,
    Appcat

    Hello,
They are a Fix Pack higher than you which may explain why it's broken on their server.
Download the Fix Pack for R2 and see if you can duplicate the issue.

  • Automatic Fill colors for Report Builder pie charts and graphs are too repetitive and hard to differentiate

I have pie charts or other graphs that show multiple results (7-20).  I set the "fill" colors to Automatic so that the results are dynamic (I don't want to specify a color for each result because I will then be limited that those results--I
    prefer it to be dynamic).
I noticed that once you get above 4 or 5 results, no matter which palette is used, the "automatic" colors are so closely similar that it is hard to differentiate which color pertains to which result (group).  For example, you could have a
reports that breaks the results into age groups like 1-18, 19-21, 22-25, 26-30, 31-41, 41-50, 51-65, 66-80, and 81+.  By the time you review the results, there's likely to be 3 pairs of colors (or more) that are so closely similar that you can't
tell them apart (2 shades of yellow, 3 shades of blue, 2 shades of orange, or green, or teal, or purple or whatever).
Is there a way to use Automatic for the color scheme (I don't care which color pertains to which category) but also specify to not use colors that seem to bleed together (so that someone viewing the report can actually tell the difference)?  Using SSRS
2008 Report Builder, if it makes a difference.

    Hi JNehman,
Reporting Services provides a list of predefined, built-in palettes that you can use to define a color set for series on your chart. All built-in palettes contain between 10 and 16 color values. You cannot extend the built-in palette to include more colors,
so if you need more than 16 colors, you must define a custom palette.
A custom palette let you add your own colors in the order you want them to appear on the chart. A custom palette is especially helpful if the number of series in your chart is unknown at design time. For more information, see
Define Colors on a Chart Using a Palette (Report Builder and SSRS).

  • Report runs in Report Builder but hangs in Report Server

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Reports 10g to build a report with many formula columns. Everything was working perfectly till I added some condition in a query in formula columns. After adding it, report is not working in Report Server but runs only in Report Builder. If I removed this condition, report runs OK but I need it. This condition is very simple, just filtering be a decoded column (i.e. stts = 'D')
Can anyone suggest how to solve this problem?

    Hi,
what is the application server version you are running your reports on?
If it is 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.2  and you are using PDF SUBSETTING (check the [PDF:Subset] section in the uifont.ali file in your server) then you are most probably facing Bug:5029259 . To resolve the issue read further Doc ID 363868.1 in Oracle Support. In short, your options are:
    1. apply patchset 10.1.2.3 or maybe patch 5029259 is enough.
    2. or make sure no NULL values are returned in the report. Use nvl where possible. If there was no problem before making the changes then maybe checking the new formula columns would be enough. I made this change myself when facing this issue and it appears that this resolved the problem.
    3. or change REPORTS_ENHANCED_SUBSET to NO in windows registry if under windows or $ORACLE_HOME/bin/reports.sh if under linux.  REPORTS_ENHANCED_SUBSET=YES is necessary if you are using TTF subsetting, though. So this might not be an option.
