Report Builder RDS setup errors

Although RDS works in Dreamweaver, I can't seem to be able to
setup RDS in report builder. I get the following EM:
"The RDS server was successfully contacted, however the
server does not support validating security credentials"
If this is referring to the RDS password, I'm certain that
I've got it right.
My IIS guys say they have setup IIS as per this technote

Is there anything else I need to look at ???

Try and temporarily turn off Windows Integrated
Authentication.
If it works, double-check to be sure you turned it off for
the CFIDE directory permanently.

Report builder TfrmconfiguredHSDRS error

I am getting an error when I try to create a RDS Server on my laptop version of report builder. The error is in a pop up window and says: Object: TfrmconfiguredHSDRS Exception: List index out of bounds (2) See error log for stack trace.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I have a desktop running same op sys and CF versions and all is well. Compared the CF settings for RDS with the laptop and no difference.
Any idea what to do to get past this?

According to your description, you recently updated SQL Server 2008 R2 to SP3, Report Builder doesn’t work since then the error occurs: "Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue".
This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3 that Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this issue. But we could implement one of the following workarounds:
Install and run Report Builder 3.0 of SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM.
Install and run Report Builder of SQL Server 2014.
Uninstall Service Pack 3 then uninstall Service Pack 2 and then reinstall Service Pack 3.

Unable to launch Report Builder 3.0

I am running Reporting Services 2012 in Sharepoint integrated mode. I'm using Sharepoint 2010. My server is located in the US. Both my overseas and US users are unable to launch Report Builder but the errors are different.

SSRS- report builder showing recent sites and server as blank

Hi All,
A client of ours when executes Report builder is not able to see Report models as report builder just gets open but do not create connection to server.
We have done the following settings for same:
Used both name and IP of system and added the same to Trusted Sites in IE settings
Also we have used port number along with URL for report builder.
We have given all rites to user on reporting services (SQL)
But it is still not showing report models.
Kindly help us. It is very urgent.

Hi Kumud,
According to your description, your client can't see the created report models in Report Builder. Right?
In this scenario, the reason why the client can't see the report models because he doen't connect to report server. Please click the
Connect at the left bottom of Report Builder and type the report server url manually to reconnect the report server.
If the connection is failed, please check if there any process on client side which occupies the port for report server URL. Here are two articles for your reference to do troubleshooting.

Since the Semantic modeling language (SMDL) report models are deprecated. Although you can you continue to use existing report models as data sources in SQL Server 2012 or later version Reporting Services reports you should consider updating your reports
to remove their dependency on report models.

Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Hi All,
The report builder in my system is behaving weirdly. If I open a report, which is having a normal browser output, it allowing me to see the data model, layout model and everything. And if I open a report, which is having a PDF output, it's not allowing me to open the Layout.
Here the output is in context of Oracle Applications front-end. And as I know it shouldn't be a problem with Report Builder.
It errors out with the following message.
Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have tried reinstalling the software a minimum of 10 times, but no luck. At last I got my system formatted and tried. For the first time it worked for me, then I installed Forms Builder... then again I am getting the same problem even though I have different homes for Reports and Forms.
Is it problem with my system or the Operating System or the version of the Oracle Developer?

Apps reports in Report builder

Hello friends,
How we run the apps seeded reports in reports builder..
I download one report from the test instance of oracle apps.while i am executing that report using report builder it shows error.
because it contains srw. user exit..
Now I need to delete srw package commands or is there any way to execute apps reports directly in report builder 6i;

Report s background engine error

When we run a report 2-3 times then report builder gives an error
" Reports background engine has encountered a problem and need to close." after this error system is hang and we unable to run this report again.
what the reasoon of this error

it can be the printer driver (sometimes the problem is with usb connectors or it can be some problem with fonts that u use on report)

Report Builder can't setup RDS

When trying to setup RDS in the report builder for CF8 I get
an http 1.1 404 Object not found error.
Windows authentication is off and I can use RDS with
Dreamweaver.
Any thoughts?

Receiving Error Message in Coldfusion Report Builder

I have installed Coldfusion Report Builder. I connect to my
RDS server and attempt to run the Query Builder and get the
following error:

Whatever version came with MX7. When I run it and go to help
and about, it just shows the version info for cold fusion server.
Not the report builder. I know it is the latest version however as
I also downloaded and installed the latest version from

Error 403 when editing report in report builder

Hey Guys,
I have a weird issue with the SSRS (Sharepoint Server Reporting Services), which I find very undocumented hence not so easy to implement in a multi-server farm.
Anyway, I have a very small 2 servers SP farm running SP2013 Enterprise and Project Server 2013. In the backend I have a SQL2012 and all SP DBs are in an alwayson availibility group. Both SP servers are exactly identical in terms of roles and setup. The
SQL SP reporting add-in has been installed on both servers.
I created my SSRS service app and all is running fine to view reports; but when I try to edit a report in report builder it works on server1 and fails with a 403 on server2 (I'm of course logged in with the same account on both servers). I have no idea why
one server givs me this 403 and since all this is new to me I'm a bit lost and not sure how to start troublshooting the issue.
Would you have an idea what could cause this behavior ?

Based on my research, there are many factors can cause this issue. For more details, we can refer to the following possible causes:
Some configuration did not configure well. Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager to check all the configuration, see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337424(v=sql.110).aspx on Reporting Services Tools.
In the reporting services configuration manager tool, rebuild the virtual directory of report manager/report server.
If the report server enables SSL, recreate a certificate and then rebind it to report server.
It may resulted in config file of the report server / service.
changing the AuthyenticatonTypes to RSWindowsNTLM in the report server config file.
Besides, the issue can also be caused by the web.config for the SharePoint site was not correctly modified by the Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint. For more details, please see the following posts:

Error while opening a report in report Builder

My oracle apps version is R12.1.3
I am getting an error message when opening a report in report builder.

You have to change registry settings by going through REGEDIT. Under hkey_local_machine/software/oracle/<oracle home>, look for variable REPORTS_TMP. Change value for this, for example c:\windows\temp or something like that where you want oracle reports to create temp files.

XML Report completes with error due to REP-271504897: Unable to retrieve a string from the Report Builder message file.

We are in the middle of testing our R12 Upgrade. I am getting this error from the invoice XML-based report that we are using in R12. (based on log). Only for a specific invoice number that this error is appearing. The trace is not showing me anything. I don't know how to proceed on how to debug where the error is coming from and how to fix this. I found a patch 8339196 that shows exactly the same error number but however, I have to reproduce the error in another test instance before we apply the patch. I created exactly the same order and interface to AR and it doesnt generate an error. I even copied the order and interface to AR and it doesn't complete with error. It is only for this particular invoice that is having an issue and I need to get the root cause as to why. Please help. I appreciate what you all can contribute to identify and fix our issue. We have not faced this issue in R11i that we are maintaining right now for the same program which has been running for sometime. However, after the upgrade for this particular data that the user has created, it is throwing this error REP-271504897.

Check on this note also : Purchasing Reports Fail When Changing Output To XML REP-0002 REP-271504897 REP-57054 (Doc ID 1452608.1)
If you cant reproduce the issue on other instance, apply the patch on the test instance and verify all the funcionality related to the patch works OK. Then move the patch to production. Or you can clone the prod environment to test the patch.
