Report Comparing Previous MRP Runs

Dear Experts,
Is there a SAP report that compares past MRP runs/results?
For analysis and reporting purposes, we need to compare past MRP runs to identify factors which affect a certain material availability issue (e.g. out-of-stock, increased or decerased inventory holding, etc.).
For a more specific example, let's say I would like to know why a certain material had its inventory level significantly lower compared to the safety stocks at a specific time in the past. Is it because of a higher actual demand compared to the forecast used during the planning run? Or was there an abnormal increase in consumption during the production?
We also need to do the same when we have internal and external auditors auditing the process and systems we have in place.
Hope to get your inputs on this.

Dear,
In my understanding you can use T code- MDLD or convert the MRP run results into a PDF file and you can compare.
However i dont think there is some standard report to compare the same.

  • Sales order while MRP run

    Hello friends;
My requirement is such that when i run mrp in MD02, system should not consider those sales order that are planned in previous MRP run. System should consider new sales orders that are created after MRP run.
    Waiting for reply.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
One solution is go for individual Sales Order/Line Item MRP run using T.code MD50.
But I can't understand problem with use of MD02.If Receipt element(Plan order)is there which contains the Account Assignment of that Sales Order line Item then I don't think system will replan for same Sales Order Line item.

  • System is not considering open reservations at the time of next MRP Run

    Hi,
In our business process, subcontractors are defind as Vendors in the SAP system and materials will be provided / transfered to these subcontractors in the SAP system through Subcontracting route (541 movement type). Now, business wants to 'Monitor' the stocks at these subcontractors, so that always subcontractors should have the Optimum stocks at his location. So to monitor the same, business wants to have the MRP / CBP process in the SAP system.
To run the MRP for all these Subcontractors at each material level following configuration and Master data is maintained in the SAP:
Business is having around 10 plants in the SAP system and all these plants are defined as MRP Areas in the SAP system to run MRP. Along with this subcontractors (100 Subcontractors) are defined as MRP Areas (100 MRP areas) in the SAP system and each MRP Area (subcontractors) are mapped in the MRP Area configuraion according to the respective above mentioned plants in the SAP system.
At the time of running the MRP for these MRP areas in the SAP system based on Re-order point and Max stock level (both at subcontractors MRP Area and Plant MRP Area Level), system will consolidate the requirement from all the subcontractors MRP Areas (Transfer Reservation) to at plant level. From plant a considering all these requirement + warehouse buffer stock, a Purchase Requisition will be raised to procure the material from other plant or from external vendor.
Suppose, if the requirements of the previous MRP run are not fulfilled in the SAP system, and if MRP is run again in the SAP system at both Subcontractor MRP Area and Plant MRP Area Level, the system will delete the Previous "TRANSFER RESERVATIONS" and Recreate the new one. The problem here is suppose eventhough the Transfer Reservation requirements are partially fulfilled, a new reservation is Re-created in the SAP system in the next MRP run and this will create the Incorrect results in the MRP results/requirements.
So, can you please suggest what can done for this problem?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pavan

Please use the planning option - delete and re create ...which will balance the net requirement

  • Is there a report to track the exception messages after a MRP run ?

We have a scenario at our client site where MRP run is not optimized to the fullest.
The planners are not trained on how to interpret those exception messages.
They are not trained on how to reschedule / expedite planned orders resulting from an MRP run.
Is there a report out in SAP that keeps track of
    1) History of number of exception messages by type ( Expedite/Reschedule/Cancel)
    2) History of number of exception messages that were acted on or ignored by the planner.
This is to create metrics on the usage of MRP exception reports by planners.
    Appreciate your inputs..

    Hi
The exception messages are dynamic and time dependant. You cannot have history of exception message.. If your user is feeling difficult to use standard MRP reports. Create a new report using a function module MD_STOCK_REQUIREMENTS_LIST_API
It gives all MRP data including exception messages.

  • Standard Cost Estimate Report Comparing Current vs Previous Year

    Hi Everyone,
Is there a standard SAP report that would provide materials with previous and current year standard cost estimates as found within the Costing 2 view of the material master?
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hi,
You need to look into periodic reports. Here is the best one to provide the copmarision between two period -
    S_ALR_87099932.
Go into the report & select the costing runs taken in two diffrent periods. You will get all the required results of prices for two periods/costing runs.

  • Previously OK report now fails to run with REP-1226

I have been developing a report with a fairly complex layout over several days, saving several versions of the report along the way (after running and testing them). The latest version of the report now fails to run (both as an RDF in Reports Designer and as a REP via rwservlet/oc4j) - It fails with error REP-1226 "Body location is beyond print area". I loaded a previously tested version of the report into the Designer and tried to run it - This also fails with REP-1226, as did the previous 2 versions of the report, ALL OF WHICH HAD PREVIOUSLY RUN OK, BOTH IN REPORTS DESIGNER AND RWSERVLET/OC4J.
Rebooted the machine, loaded a version of the report that had previously been tested and RAN OK, this now fails to run with REP-1226.
The Reports Designer in use is version 9.0.2.0.3, running against database version 9.2.0.1.0 both running on Windows XP - I tried loading the report into a later version of the Designer (10.1.2.0.2) and the same error occurs.
    Any ideas????

not sure if this will work,
    but you can just try.
Try increasing the width of the page.
Paper Layout -> Main Section -> Body(Right Click) -> Select "Property Inspector" and set width to any desired range.

  • How to restrict RESCHEDULING after MRP run ?

    Dear All,
We r using prodn. strategy 30. We don't take MRP run for finished material. First we create production orders for finished material & then we take MRP run to create planned orders for semifinished material.
After MRP run , production orders of semifinished material of previous month gets rescheduled . How to avoid this ?
We created production orders of NOV2007.
When we take MRP run today i.e. SEPT2007  to create planned/prodn orders of OCT2007 m/c shop plan. It shows wrong results. It is not giving right requirement for blanks .
    PL' answer.

    Hi,
In OPPQ/OPPR increase the tolerance value to a high value.
The system compares this value with the ( order finish date - reqmts date) and if it is greater the system do reschedules.
    Ex tolerance value -
    2
diff bet ( order finish date - reqmts date )  -
    5
         the system reschedules.
so increase the tolerance value to 5 and see the results. The system does not
        reschedules.
OR in OPPQ disable the indicator for production order

  • Purchase order status in MRP run

    Hi Gurus,
I have a doubt in MRP run.
While doing the MRP run, can there be any open PO s or is it mandatory to close them.
Can you also please suggest me on how to run the MRP.

    Hi,
    MRP Run
    Purpose
The Material Requirements Planning (MRP) function enables you to plan material requirements for complex manufacturing processes. You use the MRP Wizard to create and run MRP scenarios. The MRP Wizard generates recommendations for the production and purchasing orders required to produce the final product on time and in the required quantity. You then use these recommendations to create production and purchase orders in the Order Recommendation Report.
The order recommendation cannot be issued for requirements that happened in the past (before the present day). Since the purchasing or production process cannot be completed in time, the MRP does not mix the real past data with new recommendations for the same period.
    Prerequisites
    ●     You have defined the
    ○     Planning system
    ○     Procurement method
    ○     Order mutliple
    ○     Minimum order
    ○     Lead time
See also: Item Master Data, Planning Data Tab.
    ●     You have set the time interval between orders. See also: Define Inventory Cycles.
    ●     You have defined the appropriate items as non-production bills of materials (if required). See  also: Item Master Data, General Tab.
    ●     You have defined default warehouses. See also: Define Warehouses.
    ●     You have defined forecasts. See also: Forecasts.
    ●     You have selected the Consume Forecast option to make the system exclude existing sales orders from the forecast. If this is not selected, the forecast considers existing sales orders as an additional requirement. See also: Sales Order.
    ●     You have set the planning definitions. If you chose Consume Forecast, you have defined the consumption method, days forward and days backward. See also: General Settings, Inventory Tab.
    Process Flow
           1.      Start the MRP Wizard.
           2.      Create a new MRP scenario or select an existing one. (See also: MRP Wizard: Select New or Existing Scenario.)
           3.      Define the parameters for your scenario, such as the planning horizon and item details.
You also choose your display preferences. (See also: MRP Wizard: Scenario Details.)
           4.      Define the data sources for requirements that you want to include in your MRP scenario.
For example, you define whether you want to consider the existing stock or the minimum stock level. You can also include a predefined forecast. (See also: MRP Wizard: Data Source.)
           5.      Save the scenario or run it.
After you run the scenario, the system displays the MRP Results.
If there are red figures in the result table, solve the problem and re-run the MRP.
           6.      Analyze the MRP results. You can display the final stock quantity before the MRP run or after it.
           7.      Save the recommendations and exit the MRP Wizard.
    Result
After completing the MRP Wizard, you still need to create the purchase and production orders in accordance with the MRP recommendations. See also: Order Recommendation Report.
    Hope this will help.
    Reward Point if helpful
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • Consideration of stock of discontinued FG or trading material during MRP Run

There is an functionality of follow up material for component. I would like to know if there is any similar option available for finished goods or trading materials.
I am doing procurement planning for externally procured Trading materials. Now my previous material A is being replaced by material B. Therefore all the planned independent requirement is available in system only for B. But still there is some stock available for material A. How can it be considered during MRP run for material B.
    Example,
    Material A:
    On Hand Stock = 100
    Planned Independent Req. = 0
    Material B:
    On Hand Stock = 300
    Planned Independent Req. = 1000
In this case if we run MRP for material B, how we ask system to plan Purchase Requisitions for 600 instead of 700 for material B, considering stock of material A.

    Hello
Please refer to the following SAP note:
    43636 - Discontinued parts
This note provides a detailed explanation of the system standard design of the usage of discontinued parts with material requiremenst planning and the most common questions about this issue.
The following information is provided on this note regarding the PIRs:
    2. Planned independent requirements and forecast requirements are not redirected.
Explanation: Planned independent requirements after the effective-out date are not redirected but are provided with an exception message in the MRP list stating that they cannot be included in the availability check. Planned independent requirements and forecast requirements are therefore displayed in the MRP list and in the stock/requirements list. However, they do not influence planning

  • Process order should not take part in MRP run

    Hello Colleagues
I looking for a way how to exclude not released process orders (we have PP-PI) from MD04 report. Not released process order should not take part in MRP run. I was trying to do it using OPJJ for availability check 02 and checking rule PP but I was not able to get result. Could you please help, probably there are other settings?
    Best Regards
    Eduard

    Hi,
Settings in OPJJ will take effect only when you create or release process orders.
As a work around you can try to exclude process order is
    1. Create a Storage location and make it not relevant for MRP-OMIR
    2. In Material master for the material in MRP assign storage location MRP as 1 (exclude storage location stock)
    3. Create the process order, in the GR tab enter the storage location (not MRP relevant)
In the MRP run it will not take the process order into account.
After releasing change the storage location to the normal sotrage location.
In this process flow, the control is with the storage location.
    Check it in your sandbox.
    Thanks,
    JK

  • 'Releasestepcreated' not getting triggered for PR generated through MRP run

    Hi,
I have PR Release strategy workflow configured, working well when i try to create PR manually, triggers workflow.
PR's created thorugh MRP run, triggers release strategy but not workflow.
I checked the event trace 'releasestepcreated' event not triggered through MRP run.
    Please respond ASAP.
Your inputs will be highly appreciated.

    Short Text
    Workflow with multiple workitems
    Long Text
Refering SAP notes that i came to know that workflow is not supported
through MRP run (md03/md04).we are not using Planned orders.
To trigger workflow for Purchase requisitions created by MRP run, we
have developed a custom report to trigger workflow explicitly.
1.MRP batch job runs every night. After MRP job, planned to schedule
another job to trigger workflow for PR's created MRP run.
    2. Used FM 'SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT' to trigger workflow.
    3. PR requires 5 levels of approvals based on release strategy
    configuration.
    4. The issue is PR 'XXX' created and waiting for approval in agent's
inbox. When 2nd day MPR runs same PR 'XXX' effected, another
workitem for the same PR in agent's inbox.
We have multiple workitems for the same PR in agent's Inbox.
If i execute one of the workitem, releases PR, multiple workitems are
getting generated for 2nd level approval for the same PR.
Please give your inputs to resolve this issue.

  • Schedule line date changes after each MRP run

    Dear Experts,
Clarification needed on how the system plans the MM schedule lines.
Setting: Start in the past not allowed.
3 days for processing of order
The issue is after each MRP run the system is moving the schedule line to the current date + 3 days for processing + the planned delivery time.
If the schedule line is not firmed, after each MRP run ( which happens everyday) the system is moving the schedule line and then giving an alert saying the " order has to be rescheduled to the previous day"
on the second day after the mrp run the system moves the schedule line again by one more day and gives the rescheduling date as " -2 days from today"
this change is happening every day after the planning run. - because of this there are really no backorders ( schedule line in the past ) in the system. we were not able to know if the vendor is actually delayed in this case.
can you kindly suggest what went wrong here ??
we are using strategy 10 for the planning of procured parts. Let me know if more info is needed.
Note: we are also using stock transfer process for some procured parts. there too the PR date gets changed after each MRP run. There there is no lead time in this case. the order is placed on the same day as the requirement as both plants are nearby. There the PR date is changing everyday to the current date.
your advice would be of great help
    thanks
    Nagendra Kumar

    Hi Caetano,
    thanks for your suggestion
Yes, we use firm zone for few of the vendors. there the system don't change the schedule lines.
Also for the stock transfer PR's there is no firm zone and the lead time is one day. in this case it changes everyday after the MRP run.
the stock transfer PR's leads to the creation of Schedule lines from the source plant. Since this PR gets changed everyday. the alerts coming out of MD07 gets changed and we really did not know if this order is delayed or not.  In the source plant we use the firm zone to avoid moving the schedule line. But then the alerts are always not correct.
is there any setting which helps in not moving the PR everyday without using " start in the past"
    thanks

  • MRP Run - Planning file entry Issue

    Dear All,
We are facing one problem in MRP Run. We run MRP in the background for a plant (MDBT) System is not creating planned order for few component. I have checked all relevant setting. I found that planning file entry is missing. I would like to know that how system can miss the material? How system creates & delete planning file entry ? I have some data related to this.
Last MRP run date is 22-04-09
    PIR changed date on 30-04-09
MDRE Run on the 30-.4-09 at night.
MRP Run on 02-05-09 at night.
Problem reported that no planned order for the material on 07-05-09.
We have huge number of material so its difficult to check all material individually whether MRP run happend or not ?
Please let me know the possible reason for this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Dear,
If you carte materaial or uplod materail before activation plant for MRP this may be the cause for this.
Planning File creates all the materials relevant for the planning run.
The planning run and the scope of the planning run (which materials are planned in which planning run) are controlled by the planning file.
For planning file entry use the following transactions,
MD20 : Create planning file entry
MD21 : Display planning file entry
MDAB : Set up planning file entry in background
MDRE : Check planning file entry Please run this in it will solve your problem
All materials assigned with MRP are automatically entered in planning file entry.
Depends on changes in material planning or in proposal , system will create planning file entry.
When MRP run system will consider only which materials having entry in above contents of planning file entry. After MRP run system delete the planning file entry. And again material gone the changes like GI GR on any other demand  then system generate planning file enty again.
Hope it will help you to understand basic concept.

    R.Brahmankar

  • Scheduling in MRP Run MD02

    dear all,
i still confuse for using scheduling in MRP run MD02,
what is the use of using both scheduling type "1" and type "2"?
because if i run the MRP using scheduling type 2,  after i generate the planned order, then i can see the capacity planning evaluation,
but not if i run scheduling type 1
if i run the scheduling type 1, how can i analyze the capacity planning?
until now, i always run the scheduling type 2, because i think it is more useful to run scheduling type 2,
so what is the plus and the minus using scheduling type 1 or type 2?
    best regards,
    MARUFAT

    Hi,
    In simple words:
The main difference between scheduling type 1 (Basic date scheduling) & Scheduling type 2 (Lead time scheduling & Capacity requirements) is from which records MRP reads the values.
Basic dates is more like a rough scheduling where the values are read from the material master & the exact operation times are not considered or capacity requirements generated.
Lead time scheduling is more precise meaning for each in-house produced material it reads the routing & checks the time maintained for each operation, it then calculates the exact times for each operation based on the working days, shift timings, breaks & also generates capacity requirements.
Now what is the criteria to select... it depends on the business requirement. But the data maintenance for Scheduling type 2 is higher as compared to Scheduling type 1.
What is the benefit for going for Scheduling type 2.... well it gives you a clear picture on your production planning process & how much capacity is required, whether you have the requisite capacity etc etc.
Basic date scheduling is preferred when you do not want such fine control on your production planning process.
For more info refer to SAP help, it should make it more clear.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • After firming planned order, new planned order is generating in MRP run

    Hi Experts,
I am using SAP AFS. Planning strategy is 21- MTO with Project settlement. MRP type is PD. Lte size is EX. Procurement type is X.
We are using the production versions. Individual / collective reqmts is 1. Planning time fence is not maintained.
In sap AFS T.Code for MRP run is /n/afs/md02. After receiving the Sales order, MD04 screen gets updated accordingly and I am running the MRP.Planned orders are generated accordingly. I am firming the planned order manually through MD04. The satr mark is also appearing.
My problem starts now. If I am running  the MRP again for the same requirements another planned order of the same qty. is getting generated. That means after the second MRP run, I am having two planned orders (one firmed plnd order) and second is the new planned order. My requirement is that MRP should not generate any new Plnd. order / PR's if there is no new Sales order.
The parameters for MRP run are "1" for "Create PR's", '1" for "Plng Mode" and '"1" for "scheduling ".
I have tried in all the possible ways, but of no use. Still new plnd order is generated after firming the 1st plnd. order in MRP run.

    Thanks all for your feedback..

    Consumption is V,
Sales order is the same (As we are using MTO , Strategy 21) and same WBS element.

    1. Quantity of sales order is not reducing after firming the sales order
    2. Account assignment category for both the planned orders is u201CZu201D - Indiv.cust./project
I have made some more observations and found the following differences between the two planned orders
From  MD04 , keep the cursor on corresponding planned order
& click on upward arrow ( available on bottom side of the report).
It will show what will be the originating requirements i e. for which requirements this planned order generated.
