Report containing bar chart

I am new to charts in crystal reports. In my database i am having 200 students. In that i have one coloumn which is containing the ranks of student (1,2,3,..). In the report , i need to display,
1) X-axis ->ranks should be dispalyed (1,2,3,4,5)
2) Y-axis -> Number of students (in range of 10 ie, 10,20,30,etc)
Suppose if 20 students gained rank 1 means , on top of rank 1 bar count should be displayed ie, 20.
Can anyone please help me out?

Hi Sweish
1. Create a group based on Rank field in your report.
2. Insert a chart to this group.
3.Right click on Chart and select "chart options" .
4.Select "Data Labels".
5. Check the "Show Data Labels"
6. Change Labels Location to "Outside Maximum"
7.Set the label format to "Value" .
I think if you follow all these steps correct you might get the desired results as you want them to be.

Vivek

  • Crystal Report Stacked Bar Chart by Time

Does anybody know how to do the following:
Each input record represents an operation scheduled for tomorrow - each record contains following fields.
    Operating Room Number,
    Operation Case Number,
    Scheduled Start time of Operation,
    Scheduled End time of operation.
Sample data would look like this:
OR Room , Case, Start Time, End Time
    1, A, 7:30 AM, 10:30 AM
    1, D, 11:00 AM,1:00 PM

    2, Z,  8:00 AM, 10:00AM
    2, X, 11:00 AM,  2:30 PM
Chart should show time of day on y axis, and operating room on x axis.
Each operating room on x axis should have a stacked bar representing the start/end time of each operation.

I think what you are looking for is
    Gantt chart
A Gantt chart is a horizontal bar chart often used to provide a graphical illustration of a schedule. The horizontal axis shows a time span, while the vertical axis shows a series of tasks or events. Horizontal bars on the chart represent event sequences and time spans for each item on the vertical axis. You should use only date fields when creating a Gantt chart. The field you choose for the data axis should be set to "For Each Record," and the start and end-date fields should be added to the "Show value(s)" area of the Chart Expert's Data tab.
    OR
    XY Scatter
An XY Scatter chart is a collective of plotted points that represent specific data in a pool of information. The XY Scatter chart allows the user to consider a larger scope of data for the purpose of determining trends. For example, if you input customer information, including sales, products, countries, months, and years, you would have a collective of plotted points that represents the pool of customer information. Viewing all of this data on an XY Scatter chart would allow you to speculate as to why certain products were selling better than others or why certain regions were purchasing more than others.

  • Embeding graphics bar chart

    Hi,,,
I have to convert one of my reports made on 6i version which contains bar chart that is working on this version after upgrade to 10g I couldn't work with it because its depraceted what to do pls help
    Best Regards
    Maher

Are you using Oracle Graphics? You'll have to use a chart item in the report for 10G: click the icon in the layout editor tool pallet, click into the layout editor, right-click the chart object and select the wizard.
It's slightly different to Graphics and I don't know of any documentation of what your query should be like. So to get the right values on the right axes and in the right series might take a bit of trial and error.
Does anyone have any documentation of what the structure of queries should be for each report type? I feel a new project coming on!

  • No save and no copy/paste of reports containing charts ??

    Hello,
is it correct that there is really no option to save generated reports containing charts (bar / pie) to e.g. the html-format ? Or at least to select the graphic, press "CTRL-C" and in another application (e.g. Word or Excel) "CTRL-V" ?
This generally normal functionality seems really to be missed and is really important for us. Is there anybody out there who can help on this topic ?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Best regards
    Olav

Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.5 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
If the problem does not appear in the test account try starting in "Safe Mode" (It will take a bit more time to startup because it runs a directory check first).
If that works go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If there are still problems, go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving /Users/Home)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
    Let us know.

  • Data values on Bar Chart in a BI Publisher report (11g)

I have a bar chart that I created via the layout editor in BI Publisher 11g, and I'm displaying the data values on the chart. That part works great. However, we're noticing that the chart adds zeros to the end of the data values depending on the length of the number being passed to the chart. My data item is a number that is 5 bytes in total, with 2 decimals. If the data value is *10.10*, the data displayed on the bar chart shows *10.10*. But when my data value is *1.10*, the data displayed on the bar chart is *1.100*. And if my data value is *.10*, the bar chart displays *0.1000*. The bar chart adds zeros to the end as the number of characters to the left of the decimal decreases.
I don't see a way to make it not do that. Has anyone else run into this, and been able to change it?

Basically what are you trying to do :
Attaching Mutiple Data Definition to a XML Program and deciding which one to call ased on parameter.Sorry you can not do that one Data DEfinition per Report.
ut there is one way of doing that.
Create multiple data defintion( mutiple programs) and then a master program something like
    IF Master Program Param1 = 'X'
    call BI Program 1
    ELSIF Master Program Param1 = 'Y'
    call I Program 2....
    End IF;

  • Return Links at top of Report?  Legend Labels on Bar Chart Rollovers?

    Hi,
    I have two questions.
    1. Is there a way to easily put the 'Return' links at the top of all reports? i.e. is there a template I can edit to do this to all my reports? I have hundreds of reports and changing them all by hand by putting a static text with HTML isn't really an option for me.
    2. Is there a way to show the Legend value when you hover over a Bar on a Bar Chart. I'm pretty sure pie charts do this, but in my Bar Chart, hovering over the individual bars only shows the value. I would like for it to also show which legend item it is when a user hovers over.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Kevin,
I was looking into the issue. I can confirm that the scid code that's generated is dynamic.
I also looked into the return link - the code is the following (you already know this).
td class="ResultLinksCell"><a href="javascript:void(null)" onclick="return ViewBack('d:dashboard~p:9md8uku78u84kdge~r:kug9avdjlblr24fq','DrillBack','1pnm8a1lmln3ml08v6lil3d8gi');" title="Return to the previous page" name="SectionElements">Return</a</tdI checked several JS files in OracleBI\web\app\res\b_mozilla folder - tableview.js, viewhelper.js- although I found the function responsible for Return link (viewback) - I couldn't find the xml where you'd need to put that link in front of the following code - div id="idResultsTableParent"><table id="saw_146_3" class="ResultsTable" I suggest you search for the place in xml where it's generating table view and put the return link on top of the table.

  • SSRS- Drill down to sub report of a bar chart on click on a particular color of the bar

    Hi,
I have a bar chart which can have many colors on each bar, Now if i click on a bar, i am getting all the data related to that particular bar. Is it possible to click only on a particular color and get related data instead of whole bar?
To be more precise, in the below image if i click on 16/6/2013 bar, i am getting all the data related to the bar, but is it possible to click on red  and green colors of the bar separately and  get the relevant data? Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Kruthi Hegde

    Hi Kruthi,
In your case, you can use “Go to report” property to solve the issue.
Suppose we have a dataset (DataSet1) in main report and subreport with following fields: Months, DateTime, Amount. We can according to Months and DateTime fields to display the subreport. Please refer to the steps below:
    Subrepot:
Add dataset (DataSet2) in the report with Months field.
Add dataset (DataSet3) in the report with DateTime field.
Add two parameters in the report. Please refer to the following Available Values:
    Months:
    Dataset:  DataSet2
    Value field: Months
    Label field: Months
    DateTime:
    Dataset:  DataSet2
    Value field: DateTime
    Label field: DateTime
    Add filters in the tablix.
    Main report:
Right click the bar chart, select Series Properties.
Click Action in the left pane, select “Go to report” option.
    Specify the corresponding report.
Click Add icon to add parameters to run the report:
    Name: Months    Value: [Months]
    Name: DateTime    Value: [DateTime]
(Note: If we want subreport display these data which is only relevant with color, we can delete DataTime parameter in the report.)
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

  • Anychart bar charts generated for each row of a report

I am looking for ideas on, or existing examples of how the above requirement could be implemented in Apex 3.2.1.
    My initial thoughts are to:
    - use a pipeline table function as the report region source
    - generate the JavaScript for creating bar charts with one series of 48 points, as a column returned by the table function.
The source data will be unlikely to be more than 15-20 records pulled from a well indexed underlying record set of several million records.
My worry is that this may not be a particularly responsive solution and I would like to know if anyone can validate or improve on my approach?
    Cheers
    FunkyMonkey

You would need to define a separate column to hold the required output for each possible parameter value in the first column.
Each column would need to be conditional, where the condition is based upon the value in the first column, which you can reference using #column_name# syntax.
    Try that...

  • Create Pie Chart and Vertical bar chart using report builder 3.0 with sharepoint custom list

    Hi All,
I have a client requirement to create reports which should show the graphical representation of SharePoint Custom List data. The reports are Month wise and YTD. Also i have to create dashboard.
For creating reports, i have heard about Report Builder and SSRS. I have SQL server 2008r2 and installed report builder 3.0 but i am not aware of creating reports(KPI, Pie Chart, Vertical bar, etc.,) with sharepoint customlist.
Can some one please help me on this.

  • How to combine a stacked bar chart and a line graph together in one report

I have a report in excel that has stacked bar chart and a line graph together in one report. I am trying to recreate the same in Webi, Is this possible? Did any one have similar requirement, could you please share the thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Hema

May be I don't understand correctly...
    But if its really to separate chart area's;
just copy the datablock and format one as line and the other as barchart...
    Hope this helps,

  • Navigating to multiple reports from stacked bar chart

    Hi,
I have a stacked bar chart which consist of two fact's A & B. Now i want to navigate to report 1 when i click portion of stacked bar that is created by fact A and i want to navigate to report 2 when i click portion of stacked bar that is created by fact B. How can i achieve it in OBIEE?
The other solution can be that when i click either portion of stacked bar i navigate to a same report but in that report i have defined filters to filter out results to show data like report 1 when A portion is clicked and to show data like report 2 when B portion is clicked. But what filter should i use in this case and what will be the filter values?
    Thanks.
    Aasim Khan

The second option worked for me. I am navigating to a same report but i am using a filter to filter out un-required data.
    1. I created a new column in RPD at logical level and set its value that whether this row is for fact A or B.
2.Then in the chart i check the column against the third column of check boxes where we select fields against we want to create the graph.
    3. In the interaction tab i selected the report to which i want to navigate.
    4. Then in the report in included this newly created column and apply "is prompted" filter. Now when i clicked fact A of stack bar i only saw data against fact A and when i clicked fact B it only shows data for fact B.
    Thanks.

  • Crystal Report Version 11.5.8.826 - Color Sorting - Stacked Bar Chart Issue

    Hi All,
I have issue on sorting the color on stacked bar chart.
Below steps are not reflect the color sorting.
    1. Right click on chart area in the report
    2. Select chart expert
    3. Go to Color Highlight tab
    4. In the item list, change the sequence of color
Is there any way to sort the color on stacked bar chart?
    Please advise, thank you.
    Regards, Sumardi

    hi,
You can right click on each bar individually,
Format Series Riser -> Fill -> Foreground Color.
This will apply the required colors.
Also, if you have any color standards, try to create  a sample report with this kind of Chart and specify the colors individually.
Right Click the chart -> Save as Template.
In future, if any other reports have Stacked Bar Chart with same color standards, you can directly re-use this template.

  • SSRS - Report Builder 3.0 - Bar Chart

    Hi,
I have Bar chart which shows number of items sold by Month , by year for the last two years
    My Query is something like
Select Count(*) as NumOfItemsSold, Month(SaleDate) As MonthSold, Year(SaleDate)As YearSold From Sales where SaleDate in (DATEPART(Year,GETDATE()), DATEPART(YEAR, GETDATE())-1) GROUP BY Month(SaleDate), Year(SaleDate) Order BY Month(SaleDate), Year(SaleDate)
THe Query works fine except for doesnt return any values for the months there are no sales and thus the bars doesnt show up in the chart. I want the chart to display 0 as Number of items sold and represent an empty space inthe chart. I am not sure how to
    do that.
The Second Question is that I am bleto display the month name Abbreviated By usign the Expression MonthName(Fields!MonthSold.Value , TRUE) and Setting the interval  = 2 so my Chart would start showing values  feb, Apr, Jun etc ...
I want to display the values starting from Jan with interval =2 for example Jan, Mar, May ...  not sure how to achieve that.
Please let me know of any questions .
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chaitanya

    Hi Chaitanya,
To display the months that has NULL values, modify the Expression in the Values area of the chart to:
    =SUM(IIF(Fields!NumOfItemsSold.Value IS NOTHING, 0, Fields!NumOfItemsSold.Value))
To make the labels on the horizontal axis start with January and an interval of two months, do the following steps (assuming that you have set the expression for category group to =MonthName(Fields!MonthSold.Value)):
    1. Click on the category axis, press F4 to highlight the Properties pane.
    2. Under Interval item, set its properties as follows:
        Interval: 2
        IntervalOffset: 1
        IntervalOffsetType: Number
        IntervalTpe: Number
    3. Under Sale item, set its properties as follows:
        Minimum: 0
        Scalar: True

  • Stacked bar chart/line chart combination

    Hi,
I use Crystal Reports 10.I need to produce a chart containing 2 series on the same graph with:
    - one series as a stacked bar chart type,
    - one series as a line chart type (not stacked).
I tried doing 2 separate charts and superimposing one over the other, but the user wants to export it to excel and when they do so, the graphs appear as 2 separate images rather than one. it appears correctly in pdf though.
How can i achieve this, either in 1 graph or as separate 2 graphs ?
    Any help appreciated...
    Thanks in advance,
    Swathy.

    Hello Swathy,
If you can get both series in one chart then you can convert one series into line.
To do this right click on the Bar that you want to display as line.Select the series option and then select "Line" from the drop down of "Show Selected Series as:" option.
    Hope this will help!
    Thanks & Regards,
