Report control alignment
I have a mini-election going on on my report. I'm making a report with the Report Generator. I'm calling references to place two waveform charts from the calling VI on the report using "Append Control Image to Report.VI". I want the 2nd chart to appear right below the first one, both aligned to the RIGHT. But they will NOT ALIGN! The top one is aligning left (I'll call this one 'Obama') and the lower one is aligning right (McCain). I'm using the align RIGHT constant on both. Has anyone else seen this? Report Generator is clunky and ugly enough without it going politically correct on me.

Is the Report type HTML? If so try appending the the following text immediately after inserting the first image (using "Append Report Text.vi" )

I am using Crystal Reports 8.5 Developer. I know it is old, but I am using the original Crystal Reports Control ActiveX. Where can I get a list of the available commands available to me? e.g. printreport, exportto etc.

I found it by searching on "developer help 8.5" in the kbase search field.
If you're developing in VB6 you can also go to the object browser in VB6 and filter on CRAXDRT. The object browser is usually on one of the toolbars in the VB6 IDE. Change the "<All Libraries> option in the upper left corner of the object browser to CRAXDRT and you'll see a filtered list. You can drill into the different objects from here to get a better understanding of the object.

VI Analyzer control alignment rules
Just curious, what is the VI Analyzer looking for when checking front panel control alignment? I'm getting the message "The controls on this VI's front panel are not arranged in a manner similar to their locations on the connector pane (left). A VI is more self-documenting when its front panel arrangment matches that of its connector pane." However, the three controls are visually aligned with the connector pane (see below). Is it the fact that the controls on the left are right aligned? Does it look at vertical spacing?
Well, by experiment it must be the right alignment because I tried left aligning the controls and the message went away. I think it's visually less pleasing though, so I'm going to go back to the right alignment and ignore the message.

Initially I did not find any control for reporting then I installed reportviewer control but it just installed report viewer. I could not find any control to add a report to it. Anybody knows how to get report control?
ThanksIn VS 2012 I believe after adding a Report Viewer control to your Form you can then select the project tab and add new item of either a Report or Report Wizard.
I'm not too familiar with the Report Viewer control. Or databases.
I don't know how you populate your DataGridView. But I would guess that the Report Viewer control may be able to populate from a DataTable using a Binding source but I'm not sure since I've never really done that.

You can download two samples. The below link downloads an executeable that unzips the two samples to a location you specify. I specified C:\Users\John\Desktop\RV and the folder unzipped in RV is Report_Viewer_Samples. Within that folder are
two projects which are RSSNewsReader which is in C# I believe and WebLogAnalyzer which uses a binding source which comes with it and is in VB.
WebLogAnalyzer should have pretty much code you can use with the Report Viewer control. It has .RDLC files in its project folder at least after it's built. I would use Option Strict On with it though cause it's old and after it upgrades on your system then
place Option Strict On in it to correct any errors in it.
Although since you're using VS Express perhaps it will not work since VS Express, the version you have i.e. Desktop or whatever, may not have all necessary capability to use the code.
Below the link is an image of WebLogAnalyzer running. And below that is VS showing apps info. The app takes about 40 or 50 seconds to load on my laptop before the data displays.

OBIEE 11G PDF reports not aligned
Hi,
When exporting a detail report from OBIEE 11G dashboard to PDF the alignment of the reports gets altered. Is there a way to control it? The Excel output seems to be OK, but the same report when exported to PDF gets misaligned. I do not have Adobe writer, only reader installed.

1) In the Section properties of your pivot tables, (the finger that is in the big gray area of the pivot table), click on the finger, then "Additional Formatting options," and make the width 100%.
2) In the same way, for Tables, click on Table properties, "Additional Formatting Options," and make the width 100%.
This will make sure that everything aligns to the same width. -
Report Control and Multiple Datasets/Result Sets
I have four results sets, Plan, Forecast, Actual and SPLY per eight different product lines. I want to add conditional formatting of background color if actual is above or below Plan and/or Forecast. The report needs to export properly to Excel.
Is there a way I can use one control rather than multiple text boxes to display the data, allow for conditional formatting and export to Excel.? Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you have a dataset in the report which include four fields: Plan, Forecast, Actual and SPLY. Each filed contains eight values.
In SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), we can use table, matrix or list display report data in cells. The cells typically contain text data such as text, dates, and numbers but they can also contain gauges, charts, or report items such as images.

In your case, we can use expression to configure these items background color. Please refer to the following steps:
Click a specific text box in the report. Click BackgroundColor prompt in the Properties dialog box.
Click Expression prompt. And fill with expression below:
=IIF(Fields! Actual.Value>Fields! Plan.Valeu Or Fields! Actual.Value>Fields! Forecast.Valeu,”Red”,”Blue”)

ALV report - control output format

I have an ALV report and when we try to print the output from List -> Print , we would see Format under properties. I would like to control this format from inside my program. How can we do this? Thanks for the info. One more thing before I close the ticket. I have a report output with 7 pages. Second page has 20 columns in it. When I use format X_65_255, all 20 columns on the page are not being displayed. When I used X_65_512, the remaining columns overflowed to next page but all other pages (pages 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) have a blank page after them. Couple of quick questions.
1. How can we get rid of the blank pages?
2. Or is it possible to fit all columns from 2 page into just one page, may be reducing the font?

Reports builder alignment different that pdf aligned
I'm using Oracle Reports 10g
I have a report that output to a pdf, I have to make the report misaligned from report builder runtime (screen) so it aligned when it runs from the applications server development to pdf; that works in our development server & pdf is aligned
In out testing application server which has the same exact setup, the pdf is misaligned (all the time, althought it is aligned in development all the time)Good Morning Samin,

Interactive Report Control Break Formatting
Hi All,
We have a report that is having control break by 2 or 3 columns.
The break lines are showing as below.
Domain Name : Academic Training, Job Title : Assistant Registrar, Standard
Course Title : Top in Ling & Cultr
The title should be shown in a single line, but actually it is showing with word wrapping as above.
Can we have set the word wrapping off for the control break titles. Also, there is a null values for the columns that are used for control break, the report is showing like Domain Name : Academic Training, Job Title :, Standard
Course Title : Top in Ling & Cultr
This also should be without two consecutive comma (separator). Can we change this?
