Report Error Message in BPM Alert?

Hi,
I designed a BPM with a transformation step and a send step. For each step I have an exception branch where I want to trigger an alert, when something goes wrong.
I already configured in TC ALRTCATDEF an alert category (Dynamic Text activated). And I made an container operatinon with folloing control step, where I for example report the message ID.
But, going through the blogs and threads I didn't find the information, how I can report the exact error message, the error category (and in case of the send step the adapter and the adapter error text) to the alert. How can I get this data to put it into a container variable?
Can anybody give me some information about that?

Hi Experts.
Have anybody experience with the error message "Cannot send alert message to browser" on Rule Policies? The condition-check of the rule is working fine. But the error message shown appears in the web UI Similar exception on Complaints Error Message but no answer. Is it possible that the SSL settings are responsible for that error message? Any ideas? - The method "send_alert_message" has thrown following exception
"Exception: An exception (CX_SAM_MESSAGING_EXCEPTION) occurred. Message no. TPDA430."
on that line of code: line 91: sam_sender->send_to_client( message = sam_message ).
I looked inside:
- In the method "_SEND (CL_SAM_SESSION_QUEUE_SENDER)"
line 101: http_client->receive( EXCEPTIONS http_communication_failure = 1 ... )
The sy-subrc will be set to 1.
I looked inside:
- In the method "IF_HTTP_CLIENT~RECEIVE (CL_HTTP_CLIENT)"
line 885: reason = response->get_header_field( 'sap-icmclnterror' ).
Here the "reason" will be set to "Native SSL Error".
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Using Error Message in BPM Error Handling Branch

Hello,
I closed the old BPM thread not to mix up different questions.
As I found out now a synchronous Send Step with Eror handling branch is working fine to directly handle errors.
As in the send step there could be several errors possible, e.g. XML validation fails, error in communication channel etc.
Is it possible to have access to the error message that can be seen in monitoring and use this as input parameter for message mapping for example?
Would be helpful because otherwise I just would be able to send back a generic error message to the sender.

Adapter module can only provide information about the failures in Adapters.
But other failures like XML Validations, can be informed depending on the mode of Validation.
As per help.sap.com
You can perform the structure check at the following points in PI message processing:
● Validation in the sender adapter
If the sender adapter has created the PI message, you can then perform the validation of the PI payload. If the structure of the payload differs from the definition of the data type provided for comparison, message processing is stopped. The adapter sends a synchronous response to the sender of the message, informing it about the structure error. The industry-specific adapters inform the sender asynchronously, as required by the RNIF protocol and the CIDX protocol.
● Validation in the Integration Engine
In inbound and outbound processing, *validation of the PI message payload takes place as a pipeline step *of the Integration Engine. If the structure of the message payload does not match the saved definition of the data type, an error description is generated. The error description contains status information and a list of all structure errors. Message processing is stopped. The message is set to error status and an error report is saved.
If validation takes place in the Integration Engine, the sender of the message is not automatically informed of the structure error. The message is set to error status and an administrator can process the message further using the Runtime Workbench.
So if you use XML Validation in Sender Adapter you can get back the Exception ( i think you need to do some java mapping here). Else if you are using Integration Engine, then alerts are there for them.
Anyway this discussion has opened a lot of To Be Explored area for me. I will keep looking for them.

Custom error message in mapping-Alert

We are using XSLT mapping and We are raising custom error message based upon some conditions i.e if vendor number is invalid or blank.If it doesn't meet the requirement,mapping will fail and it will throw error message as" IDoc XXXXXXXXX is having invalid vendor number".
My question is,we would like to send this custom error message to email receipients through RWB-AFW.
How do we capture this custom error message is alert category or alert rule?

I have configured OEM 11G and monitoring target versions are from 9i to 11g. Now my problem is i have defined the metrics for monitoring the alert log contents and OEM is sending alert if there is any error in the alert log but it is not showing the actual error message just it is showing as below.

Catch mapping error message in BPM Exception branch

Hi dudes,
Does anyone know how to catch the mapping runtime error message into a BPM exception branch? I know how to create an exception branch and how to trigger it, but I wonder whether it's possible to pass the mapping error message as shown in SXI_MONITOR (i.e. 'Cannot create target element XXXXX. Values missing in queue context').
Otherwise, everytime my BPM fails I will have to take the payload and run the mapping test in order to find out the reason of the error.

My problem is not about handling exception in BPM, but getting the mapping error description and then passing it to the exception branch.
I can see in the workflow log that this info is contained into the Exception container EXCEPTIONS[2] / T100MSG:

Financial Reports error message Java API can't connect to olap

Hi,
On version 11.1.1.3, after reapplication of 11.1.1.3 because of other problems with shared services, get the following message on the diagnostics for the financial reporting server.

Error: Result: -1; Error message: Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Essbase Server. Error:Essbase Error(1051293): Login fails due to invalid login credentials
Recommended Action: Make sure external checker is working.
Financial reports over the Web can not connect to the essbase server. Financial reports through the studio works fine. Any suggestions how to troubleshoot or resolve the issue with the login credentials for the Java API to essbase?

Things to check -
1) Does the user you specified in the connection have the role OLAP_USER
2) Does the user you specified in the connection have access to an OLAP schema (analytic workspace or CWM2 ROLAP schema)
3) Have you installed the correct JDBC files from your database instance into the BI Beans JDBC directory

Reports Error Message

Hi,
When I click the Reports icon then select a report from our DEV environment, I get this error message from a window that pops up:
Error:Some of the required arguments are missing.
Please contact your systems administrator.
This happens in this environment only. I already tried to bounce the Actuate HTTP Services 8 and Actuate Process Management Daemon 8 from services but still not working.
Appreciate any comments/suggestions from anybody who also experienced this.

What version of Siebel are you using?
Have you set up the Report Server parameters for the Object Manager component in your Dev environment?

i am using SAP B1 8.8 pl 08 and sql server 2008 and office 2003.While executing the EXCEL report i am getting following error message
Unable to connect to XL Reporter.
Error! Server communication failed!

The connect information provided in Metainfo.xml is wrong.

ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected'). We have an Oracle DB back end and are running ZRS 5.
Can someone help me to get it to work please?

SQR reporting error message

While trying to connect to a few databases that had worked fine just a few minutes before, I am getting the following error message :
Connect Failed: Driver Error Message : [Microsoft][ODBC drive manager] data source name not found and no default driver specified.
has anyone had the same problem or anyone with a suggestion to dela with it?

Your ODBC connection is either defined wrong, corrupted, or cannot be discovered.
Sometimes recreating the connection can solve the problem.
Check also that you are using the SQR supplied Merrant drivers, and define the ODBC connection as a system data source, not a user data source.

Log Exception Message in BPM Alert

Hi all
I have a problem I am trying to solve. I have searched through the forum to try find pointers to a solution but haven't found anything yet.
I am trying to process an exception branch in such a way that when it throws an alert, it includes in the alert long text the message from the exception. This means that the person reading the alert will get as much information as possible about the exception that was raised. I can not see how to do this. Is their some way I can "read" the exception, store its contents in a container variable and then add that to the alert message?

Crystal Report Error Message

I searched first for this error and did not see anything...
One (very useful) Crystal Report I've created work well then one day I'll get:
Failed to open rowset.
Details: S0000(ProvideX)(ODBC Driver)(FileIO)No data dictionary found for specified database
(Parentheses are actually brackets but don't "Preview" as such.)
I've tried re-establishing the database in Database Source and still nothing. I can re-create it
from scratch and it works fine again, then bang - the above error. I first use the BI Reporter to
setup the report, then switch to Crystal to edit and format it. This works fine for many other
reports created.
Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

1.Exactly at what stage or step do you get the error.
2.Does is point to a specific formula/object at this stage.
2.What is the crystal reports version(Help>>About Crystal Reports)
3.Database type and version.Database driver name and version.
4.What happens if a new report is created using the same odbc connection.
5. Has anything changed at the databse end.
