Report filtered by month/year

To gurus:
I am creating a pivot table report that must be filtered on 'page section' by month/year.
I am trying to use the specif colum formula upon "Service Request"."Opened Date" to group the result by this specific filter with no sucess.
well, I can group by 'month' or 'year' but not the both as well.
Could someone help me?

While creating a report, on the left of the screen, you have access to the fields. Fields are classified by entity (Service Request, Account, ...) and you have to click the "+" to display the fields of an entity.
Here you have an entity named Date Opened. If you click on the "+", you have fields such as Calendar Month/Year, Calendar Week/Year, Calendar Quarter, ...
It replace the job of the cast...

Change month of a report by selecting the Year in the EPM context bar

Hi All,
I am very new on BPC 10 and actually I am trying to make some report.
I just try to make a simple thing : display all the month of a year choose by a user (without using the "Editor Report")
I made a simple report using EPMOlapMember, but when I try to change the year in the EPM context bar in the "Time" dimension, the month displayed does not correspond to the year context and even if I refresh my report.
What I would like to do is to allow users to select the year or the month+year in the EPM context bar or by an other way and that the report refresh.
The finality of this report is to compare the operating cost of a month with the year before, in actual or budget, in periodic or YTD, to calculate variance.
Below is the structure I would like to have on a single worksheet:
Scénario : A user choose the month (generally of the month of the current year)
FIRST (periodic) : Display all the month of the month/year (selected by the user)
SECOND (periodic) : 1st column : Display the month/year (selected by the user) in actual
                                    2nd column : Display the month/year (selected by the user) in budget
                                    3rd column : Display the month/year-1 (selected by the user) in actual
                                    4&5th column : Just simple for the delta
THIRD (year to date) : 1st column : Display the month/year (selected by the user) in actual
                                          2nd column : Display the month/year (selected by the user) in budget
                                          3rd column : Display the month/year-1 (selected by the user) in actual
                                        4&5th column : Just simple for the delta

I need to create the report which will show employee wise count of tickets in a day,week,month and year.
Day: count(tickets) for current date
Week: count(tickets) for current week
Month: count(tickets) for current month
Year: count(tickets) for current year
I need to show all these four columns in a horizantal table. I am using crystal reports2008. Please help me. ur help would be appreciated.

Hi,
create 4 formulas for day, week, Month and year
for ex, in Day formula
IF Date Field = CurrentDate then 1 else 0... similarly for other ranges. Create a Group based on employee, and insert a SUM summary field of these formulas in Group header.

What you mean with huge - 100 Mio dataset?
The import of the new infocube will be also take a long time - the database must be insert a new field for every dataset.
=> is this a big infocube, then don't use virtual infoobjects.
=> on a big infocube is important to have a good datamodel - please insert always all 11 infoobjects for the time dimension.

XL-Reporter : Monthly & Yearly

Hi! Hav anyone tried in getting monthly & yearly values in XL-Reporter?
For current day's detail of sales we can use,
FIG( SO_TaxDate = CurrentDate ), which works good.
similarly if i put
FIG( SO_TaxDate = CurrentMonth )
FIG( SO_TaxDate = CurrentYear )
it is not showing any values, but '0'
how can i get the monthly & yearly values similar to 'CurrentDate' ?
in case of year i hav to go for fiscal year which is frm Apr - Mar

Hi Meera,
If you filter your column selection by financial period where the Code = CURRENTPERIOD
Then for your year to date column selection you could filter by the financial period where CODE = YTD(CURRENTPERIOD)

Report Filters

Hi All,
I have a requirement where i select a date from the prompt,based on the selected date report will bring that data the prompt has month end dates.Suppose i click on 07/31/2011 in the promt the report will show the data for 06/30/2011 for this i have used the below logic in Fx
filter(IFNULL("Payment Fact"."TSN COUNT", 0) using MONTH("Payment Fact".LOAD_DT) = month(TIMESTAMPadd(SQL_TSI_MONTH, -1,DATE '@{CMSTPRD}' )) )
where CMSTPRD is presentation variable.The problem is it is not filtering on the year.It is bringing all the prior month's data for all years.
Here i am using ("Payment Fact".LOAD_DT) in the prompt.

Sorry When i select 07/31/2011 it has to displat the data for 06/30/2011 month end date were already there (paymentfact.load_dt contains all month end dates).The problem is when we select suppose 07/31/2011 it has to display previous months data the sql is picking previous months data in addtion to that to that it is picking previous months data for all years.

when MINUTE is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 60 seconds (from current time) with 5 or 10 seconds interval.
when Hour is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 60 minutes (from current time) with 5 minutes interval.
ex: 10:00AM 10:05AM 10:10AM ...................................11:00AM
when DAY is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing last 24 hours (12AM to 11:59PM with 1 hour interval)
when WEEK is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 7 days from current datetime stamp with 1 day interval.
when MONTH is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the 30 days from current datetime stamp with 1 day interval
when YEAR is selected the chart should display:
Total Number of Msgs vs. X-axis showing the last 12 months from current day with 1 month interval
It would be great if the PowerView chart can be made to look something like this:

Currently looking into a possible solution although some of the limitations within Power View restrict how close we can get to the ideal result. Still exploring some approaches :)

Date for Month year only?

I Have a report being done where, the user wants to see the 'slow moving inventory' for a 2 month period.
It's not automatic, the past 2 months. they can select which 2 months they want. So, I was thinking of the best way for the parameters.
Maybe just have them enter one? month/year. but in any case if i do a from and to, I dont' need the entire calender- is there a way to display just the month and year? if not i can create the parameter that way.

I would create a command (SQL Select statement) to use for data for a dynamic prompt. It might look something like this in Oracle (allows for two full calendar years in the past):
Select distinct
To_Char(OrderDate, 'MMM-YYYY') as MonthYear
from Orders
where EXTRACT(Year from OrderDate) >= (EXTRACT(Year from Sysdate) - 2)
Or like this in SQL Server:
Select distinct
Left(DateName(month, OrderDate), 3) + '-' + DateName(year, OrderDate) as MonthYear
from Orders
where Year(OrderDate) >= (Year(GetDate()) - 2)
DO NOT link the command to anything in the report - its sole purpose is to provide data for a dynamic prompt. Crystal will complain that this is generally not supported, but it will work in this situation.
Now create a dynamic parameter that will use this data - DO NOT use any other data from your report tables! This parameter will identify the start month for the report.
Lastly, you'll need to create a two formulas - one that will calculate the start date from the parameter value and another that will create the end date. If the parameter is called {?StartMonth}, they might look like this:

Change of Month names as per selection of Month / Year

We have the following requirements:
1. Change of Month names as per selection of Month / Year e.g. If the user select April 08 then the column name should be April 08, at the same time the next column should be April 07.
2. Next there are two in -line totals as per different logic as recurring rows. e.g Row header is Total and it totals the items in the column, next row header is Comparable total and it is based on checking the adjacent column values for doing the total.
Please let us know if this is feasible and can be done using BI Publisher. If you have any alternate way of doing it using OBIEE also , please share.

The parameter / prompt used is for month which can have values from JAN , feb, MAR, APR,....... DEC. and the other PROMPT being YEAR e.g. 2006, 2007, 2008.
The Column Name of the Report SHould get changed as April 08 if selected as month APril and year 2008.The subsequent column of the report should be April 2007. The same applicable for selecting any month/ year
Layout of Report as below

Report not grouping by year

Hi
I have a report that is grouping by month but not year and I can't see why.
I run the below query:
select count(case when report_base = 2 then 1 end) as 'Base 1',
count(case when report_base = 4 then 1 end) as 'Base 2',
count(case when report_base = 5 then 1 end) as 'Base 3',
month(Report_Date) as Month,
year(Report_Date) as Year
from [dbo].[SRF_Data]
where Report_Date >= dateadd(month, datediff(month, 0, getDate()) -12, 0)
group by year(Report_Date),month(Report_Date)
And get the results below:
When I put this into a report and run it the report shows broken down by month (it shows a 13 as well?) but not year. It is grouping the results for 2015 in with 2014. The X axis is set to Scalar as I want to show empty months. My category groups are set
to Year and then month.
Can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong?

I tested the issue in my local machine, when we set Axis type to category, since there is no data for October, it will not be displayed. If we set Axis type to Scalar, October will be displayed in the chart, but the data of 2014 and 2015 will be displayed
together by design.

https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/ . If the requirement mentioned by customers for many times, the product team may consider to add this feature in the next SQL Server version. Your feedback is valuable

activated profile in sm19,still iam not getting audit log for last week in sm20.
After Proper setting of Security Audit log parameters, the Application Server needs to be restarted to make the changes effective. You will only get the Audit Data since the activation of valid Security Audit parameter.

DRQ : General Ledger Optional Display of Subtotals Daily ,Monthly, Yearly

Hi experts,
In general ledger reports, in 2nd screen, at present Display Subtotals Daily ,Monthly, Yearly are mark checked by default, If user wishes to unmark the options it takes so much time ...
If the same is made optional in the first screen/form (Parameter selection screen/form), then user will have choice to mark his/her selection for Subtotals Daily ,Monthly, Yearly, again the same can be repeated in the next screen, so if the user cheange the selection in next screen, he/she can have the view of Subtotals Daily ,Monthly, Yearly as per requirement.
I believe this little change/enhancement will make the general ledger report very flexible and user friendly.
