Report in table form

Hi,
I want to make report as follows:
The report is to include all stores to be separated into two tables:
1. Corporate sponsored stores and Non-corporate stores (all other stores that are not linked to a corporate codes ).
following corporate codes are considered corporate sponsored stores:20,30,34,39,43,49,50,56,67,88,90,96
2 The report is to be carried out semi-annually and is due the first week after the reporting period has ended. The first report time periods are from October 1 through December 31 (Q1), and January 1 through March 31 (Q2). The second report time period are from April 1 through June 30 (Q3) and July 1 through September 30 (Q4).
3. The report is to display stores that meet the following criteria:
List individual stores who served 10 or fewer unique participants during any month(s) within the two reporting periods.
List corporate sponsored stores who served 60 or fewer unique participants during any month(s) within the two reporting periods.
4. User should have the option of excluding stores that have been flagged as an authorization exception.
5.The report should be in an EXCEL data file. The Excel data file should include the following data fields:
Store Name
Program Representative (Vendor Unit ID)
Average monthly number of unique participants served for the reporting period
Average monthly revenue paid for the reporting period.
6.Print either corporate or individual store mailing labels for all stores that do not meet the performance standards for peer groups designated as low volume

I think that you will need to write two reports, one is the report listings of stores that met the criteria, and the other report is for the mailing labels for stores that do not meet the performance standards.
Well, i would start with building my query, then designing the report layout, and then the scheduling of when to run the report.

Report 9i parameter form problem, is it a bug?

I am using Dev 9i IDS, rel. 9.0.2, running in windows 2000. I've been converting my forms and reports from previous versions to 9i, and I came across an issue with the report's parameter form.
First, I thought it could be a problem during the conversion , but to make sure I developed a new form and a new report straight in the 9i IDS suite, using Scott's DEPT table. The new form is simple having a button to call the new report which is based on the DEPT table and accepts an user's input for a dept. no.
The same problem occurs:
- in the form, if I set PARAMFORM=HTML then it could not open the report parameter form, hence the report could not run.
- if I set PARAMFORM=YES, then the report parameter form is displayed, then I can enter a value for the department number. BUT, when I clicked the Submit Query button the report failed, and I received the following error:

I have no problem integrating others reports that don't have parameter form using run_report_object. And, I've checked and tried different ways of manipulating the parameter value using to_number in the report's where clause etc., it never worked.
I guess the only workaround is to create the parameter form in Forms builder. Is there other ways of doing it , or is it a bug of the 9i IDS suites that needs to be fixed?

There's a note published on Metalink, note 139546.1, showing a workaround to thi problem. but
- it is rather lengthy and confusing, may not be practical .
- it only applies to Forms and Reports 6i.
However, it shows that the problem comes from 2 items in the source code of the parameter form which is produced by the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in:
1. <form method=post action=""> where action contains an empty string, it needs to have a valid entry, e.g.
<form method=post action="http://hostname:port/cgi/rwci60.exe?">
2. <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value=""> where hidden value is also empty. It should contains all parameter values passed to the report parameter form, e.g.
<input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="report%3test+destype%3Dcache+userid%Dscott.....">
And that is what I found, but I am reluctant to try it in 9i IDS, hoping Oracle has a better solution than that.

How to make a link in a report open a Form in a different region of the same page ?

Hi,
I developped a report and a form for the same table. I also created a link and used it in my report so that when I click on the link of one record, the form is opened and display this record.
My problem is that when I include my report as a portlet and I click on a link, the form is opened in full screen mode by replacing the page containing my report.
What should I do in order to open this form in another region of the same page ?

I presume that the two regions are working fine with their individual buttons and your issue is how to make them both save with one button.
Here is how
a. You will have 2 ApplyMRU and 1 ApplyMRD processes for each of the regions. Right? Lets say you have 2 "Save" (i.e. label=Save) buttons, one has name SUBMIT and the other SAVE ( SUBMIT and SAVE being the requests that will be sent when they are clicked , respectively)
b. Make the Display condition on one of the buttons 'Never'. Now it won't show when you run the page. Lets say you made SAVE's conditional Display 'Never'
c. Go and change the condition on all ApplyMRU and ApplyMRD processes from "When Button Pressed" to "Request is contains in Expression1". In Expression1 enter SUBMIT,SAVERegards

Calling Report From Oracle Forms

Hi
I am calling this one report from oracle forms, I am using global temporary table to run that report. I am first inserting data into the temporary table through oracle form and then i am calling report in that form to view the data in that temporary table. The problem is, we can not view the data of an other session if we are using temporary table. When i call report from that form a new session get created due to which i can not see the data. Is there any method of calling report from oracle form that a same session is used to run the report?

As you mention Forms and Reports do not share the database session. I had the same problem and resolved it using record groups and DATA_PARAMETER to transfer data from Forms to Reports. You could also read the Note 110495.1 on Metalink to find useful information regarding this issue.

in the left window from the image, i checked for the value of parameter param_cls, and it's ok (16).
when i run the report from the Reports, i see all the repors (that table), but when i run from forms, i got just the headers of the table, the rest is invisible. i don't know why happens this..
:control.lst_clase returns a char, so i convert that char to a number, and that's the parameter passed from Forms.
Please help me..
edit: i saw in Reports that there are two buttons: Run Web Layout and Run Paper Layout. from the Forms, i wanna run the web layout

4.5 to 6i migration or report calling from forms in XE???

Hi Friends,
I really appreciate your helping tendency. Let me explain the whole scenario.
My application basically consists of
Forms [32 Bit] Version 5.0.6.8.0 (Production)
Report Builder 3.0.5.8.0
Oracle Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
Now we migrated our database into Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production. After the migration all the existing forms and report individually were running without any problem. But there was a huge problem. Whenever I tried to call any report from any form the report engine appeared and then stopped responding. So report calling from forms was not possible after the database migration. I was suggested by someone from OTN forum to migrate my forms and reports into 6i. I have started doing the migration using ifcmp60. WIth forms 6i, reports can be called from forms. But I am facing problem in every other steps. There are many things are not working after the migration though the migration log shows no error. For example, COMMIT_FORM, EXECUTE_QUERY (for detail table), LOV, TOOL.GETVAR lots of things are not working.
My application has 200 forms and 250 reports.
Please help and advise on:
How to call reports from form when the database is XE Or
How to overcome the stated migration problem

Dear Mark:
I have two choices. I can either migrate to 6i or I can go with the existing 4.5. If I go with 4.5 ......the reports are not being called from forms. This problem is happening after I changed the database from 9i to XE. Please advise what to do so that I can keep my forms in 4.5, database in XE and can call reports from forms.

Report with a form not showing all form data?

Hello,
I have an application that is using a report with a form, and when I click EDIT on the report column, it takes me to the form page which should be populated with all the data from the previous report row.
I have not modifed anthing from either page -- but (2) fields in particular (float) that I know have data is not getting populated. They are of the text field type and the row fetch is done automatically. What could be causing this? If I check the table I know there is data for those fields.

Thanks for the reply. I have the columns set up just as you have suggested. I even created a new report with form wizard and tried to update those two questionable columns.
If the columns are null, and I add values, they save. But then when I go back and update the record, but different columns, it nulls out the two I am talking about. I am wondering if a trigger is out there someplace that is causing them to get nulled out.

Hi,
You can display the Reports errors indirectly - through the database....
You can create a table in which the reports errors are inserted as well as the date , time , user. Next , the form module can read this row using the max(date) and max(time) and the username .

F fact tables are
created without a unique index. However, existing unique indexes are not
deleted. This may sometimes cause a duplicate key during loading to the
InfoCube and thus trigger the above-described short dump.
Run the report SAP_DROP_UNIQUE_FACTINDEX_DB2 to replace the unique index on F fact tables with a non-unique index. Refer also to note 511170.

10gAS detecting report errors from forms

Hi
We are running 10g reports and forms on Red Hat.
The forms are run using a run_report_object command to generate pdf output and then displayed using web.show_document. The parameters for the reports are entered into a form and sometimes are validated and sometimes not.
On the whole it all works well. However, if a bad parameter is passed to a report, the report will not run and an error will be held in the report server for that report. Is there an easy way to programmatically detect in forms, that the report has errored and then to bring that error message back and display it in the form?

in the past I did this with the Reports Server tables. If you install the queue table then Reports Server writes all information to the database from where you can read it

Displaying data based on selection in tabler form

Hi ALL,
I have created report with three columns, from the three first column is select list. And initially user can't see any record, once user select "Add Row" button then one row will be displayed with empty data. Now when user selects one value from first column of select list then data needs to get populated for other columns in the row.
I am able to do this it the select list is an item with a property of "select list on submit". But I could not able to go with the tabler form.
Can anyone help me and also make me to find a related example too...

Could any one give the complete steps of Linking a report to web form so that when called / clicked the link the report can display the data.
I have unchecked the "Report Option -> Save Data with Reports". So that the report could not take extra space.

I want to call a report from a form.My problem scenario like, a user is login to his account and there is a option called ADMIT CARD(Push Button).Now when he pressed the button a report will generate.I want that when he pressed the button the user id of the user will passed to the report and the report will generate corresponding to his details which was stored in the database.This scenario is like any online admit card.
Suppose I want a details report of employee whose employee_id=100.How could I pass this value(employee id) to report which will generate a report details.

Actually I am a beginner.I think that I have to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in.But I cannot understand the parameterlist.Can u plz give me any example or code then I am very thankful.
