Report link stays highlighted

I have created a Print "column link" on my report that displayed with all the records on the report, so users can just click-on Print on the record that they want to print out. What I wanted to do is the last link that was clicked stays highlighted or something to indicate that it was last clicked. Why isn't "report column link" work like a regular html link, where the text link change to purple after it been clicked?
I have employees who have to print off hundreds of records each time and if they were interrupted they will get lost after they come back, because there is nothing to indicate the last link that was clicked. Please Help!

Hi,
can you put an example on apex.oracle.com with the theme you are using in your application.

  • Is it possible to switch between whether or not the previously clicked button or link remains highlighted when you go back a page?

    When clicking on a link in Firefox, it selects that link and takes the user to the connected page. If the user then goes back a page, different situations happen on different (but identical) computers. On some computers, the previous clicked link stays highlighted/selected and then the Tab key goes to the next link. On other computers, going back clears the previous selected link, in which causes the Tab key to start scrolling through item from the top of this page. Is there a way to set Firefox to do this one way or the other? Is this a Windows issue and not an Firefox issue?

    You can avoid that by opening the link in a new tab with a middle-click.<br />
    The you can close that tab with a middle click on that tab after you are done and go back to the tab with the links.

  • Highlighting Within Report Link

    I am using APEX 2.2.x and have created a report in which one of the displayed
    columns is set up as a hyperlink. I have also setup the "Highlighting" field for this linked report item.
    On my page I've created a "search" field in which users type in a value, click "Enter", and APEX looks through the report result set, highlighting all values that match the entered search text.
    Although other fields in the report that have matching serach text do get highlighted, the linked item does not even though it does have matching text.
    Would someone know how to get the hyperlinked report item to be highlighted?
    Thank you very much any help.
    Elie

    Hi Elie,
    I think that you would need to create the link in SQL rather than via the column attributes. You should then be able set up highlighting in the same way as for the other fields.

  • After upgrading I cannot add links to bullets. The option to add link stays "grey".

    After upgrading keynote I am unable to add links to bullets. If highlighting the bullet the option to "add link" stays grey, not giving me the option to add a link.

  • Keeping main menu widget highlighted when you have all pages below this open. Its only staying highlighted for the main page

    I have a main menu widget that says 'Services' then below that a group of pages thats relate to this - I want the word 'Services' to stay highlighted when Im on each page but it only is for the main one.

    This is the default behavior as the one which is active will only be highlighted. Menu item is linked with page url , so if the page url is used in browser then active state will highlight that menu item.

  • How to open reports in same portlet when clicked on item report links in menu portlet

    Hi,
    I am not sure what forum I should ask this question. Anyway, I am trying in the content areas forum.
    Let me explain what I trying to do.
    I have reports links as menu item links in a menu. I have published this menu to portal and added it to a page. I can now see the report links. If I now click on the report link, it opens the report in a whole window. How do I open the report in the same portlet or if this is not possible, how do I open this in a different portlet on the same page ?
    thanks for helping.
    Mainak

    Hi,
    This is part of JPDK. You will have to install it. Which version of portal are you using? You can also try this out using
    URL portlet which is available with webview in 309.
    Thanks,

  • Report Link + Authorization Scheme

    I have an authorization scheme that checks whether a certain person has privileges to edit a record on Page 2 by referring to the :P2_ID in the authorization scheme. Page 1 has a report with a report link, but the user can see both items they are able to edit and items they are not. I know I can make the link dynamically in the sql but wanted to see if there was an easy way to use an authorization scheme, but pass the #REPORT_COL# value in the report over to an authorization scheme to show or hide the icon for me so I can get the link out of the sql.

    Great example Scott! However, I'd would caution the other Sc0tt that calling functions in a SQL statement is fine for a small number of rows, but can CRUSH performance for medium to large result sets. Even if the function is fast, you're still context-switching between SQL and PL/SQL for every row. Make sure you test this with the volume of data you expect your users to encounter. If it's a problem, you might force the user to apply some filters before running the query.
    If you're running 11g you can at least minimize the hit of the function with "Function Result Cache". Even if you're not on 11g yet, you can use the following code in 10g and it will switch-on result cache when you compile it in 11g:
    create or replace function auth_user(p_key in number)
         return varchar2
         $IF not dbms_db_version.ver_le_10_2 $THEN
              result_cache
         $END
    as
    begin
        pkg.g_value := p_key;
        if apex_application.public_security_check (p_security_scheme => 'AUTH_USER_COLUMN') then
            return '1';
        else
            return '0';
        end if;
    end;
    / If it is a reasonable result set, Scott's solution is perfect.
    Thanks,
    Tyler

  • Error In ECC For Crystal Report Containing Sub-Report Link

    Hi,
    We are using Crystal Reports 2013. We extracted a Crystal Report from SAP ECC to modify it further utilizing the features of Crystal and export it back to SAP ECC.
    The updated Crystal Report has a Sub-Report link within it, while exporting it back to SAP ECC, we get the attached error message as "layout.subreport should not contain any data connections".
    However, on removing the Sub-Report link, the report can be successfully exported back to ECC and executes without any issues.
    Is there any limitation on features to be used when exporting Crystal Reports to ECC?
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Calling A Page Process From Report Link

    Hello.
    I am using Apex 4.2.1 on Oracle 11gR3 and mod_plsql.
    I am trying to run a PLSQL after-submit page process when users click a SQL generated link in a classical type report.
    For example, my classical report uses the query:
    SELECT
    E.*,
    '<a id="rid" href="f?p=&APP_ID.:31:&SESSION.:ADDROW:::P31_ENAME,P31_MGR,P31_DEPTNO:'
    || E.ENAME
    || ','
    || TO_CHAR(E.MGR)
    || ','
    || TO_CHAR(E.DEPTNO)
    || '">'
    || 'Add New Row'
    || '</a>' AS ADD_ROW
    FROM
    EMP E
    My page also has an after submit PLSQL process defined as:
    declare
      v_empno     integer;
    begin
      select nvl(max(empno), 0) + 1
        into v_empno
        from emp;
      insert into emp (empno,
                       ename,
                       mgr,
                       deptno)
               values (v_empno,
                       substr(:P31_ENAME,1,1) || '-' || to_char(v_empno),
                       to_number(:P31_MGR),
                       to_number(:P31_DEPTNO));
    end;
    This process has the condition "Request = Expression 1", where "Expression 1" = ADDROW.
    I thought that if users click the "ADD_ROW" report link, then the report items ENAME, MGR, and DEPTNO would be passed to corresponding page items.  In addition, the above PLSQL process would be executed and add a new row to the EMP table.  The report then would then display the newly added row.
    But when I click the report link, I see that my page items are, in fact, assigned the associated report values.  But the page process is never executed.
    I have looked at both the Session State page and in Debug mode.  The processing simply never executes my page process.
    Would anyone know why my page process is not being run?  And, how can I get the page process to run when users click the report link?  Indeed, what is the point of even having a REQUEST tage embedded in the url if it is not recognized bt other processes on the page?
    In my apex.oracle.com workspace, I have created an example page in which all of this has been coded:
    Workspace: EEG
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: galaxy123 (all lowercase)
    AppID: 27083 (Elie_Goodies)
    Page 31 (Test Url Request Option)
    I would much appreciate if someone could help me with this as I am puzzled why this is not working.
    Thank you very much.
    Elie

    Hi Elie,
    I think it's fixed.  It was very close. It's just a matter of timing.
    For a REQUEST to be visible after submit you have to submit the page.  Something like apex.submit("ADD_ROW") will do that.
    Then, when the page renders the REQUEST is empty again.
    Same thing with the link, which is what you implemented, the REQUEST is only present during render of the page. Then it's gone when the page is submitted.
    All I had to do is move your Process to run Before Header so that it could "see" the value of the request.  I didn't touch (or look) and any of the code.
    Either On Load Before Header or On Load Before region processing points would have worked here.
    Thanks
    -Jorge

  • Report Links in OBIEE 11g Dashboard not displayed correctly

    In the Dashboard pages the Report Links for Export are not displayed correctly .
    Instead of showing the multiple options for export/download it shows just text.

    It can be done by doing below steps.
    1) before doing this take a backup of instanconfig.xml file and do the below changes...
    You can configure various options that change the way that right-click interactions are handled in views for an analysis at runtime. The elements in the instanceconfig.xml file specify the default settings for a new or upgraded analysis. You can edit the properties of an analysis in Presentation Services to modify how the analysis handles right-click interactions in views.
    Before you begin this procedure, ensure that you are familiar with the information in Section 3.4, "Using a Text Editor to Update Configuration Settings."
    To manually configure for interactions in views:
    2) C:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\config\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\instanceconfig.xml
    Open the instanceconfig.xml file for editing,
    3)
    Locate the sections in which you must add the elements
    Include the elements and their ancestor elements as appropriate, as shown in the following example:
    <ServerInstance>
    <Analysis>
    <InteractionProperties>
    <InteractionPropertyAddRemoveValues>false</InteractionPropertyAddRemoveValues>
    <InteractionPropertyCalcItemOperations>false</InteractionPropertyCalcItemOperations>
    <InteractionPropertyDrill>false</InteractionPropertyDrill>
    <InteractionPropertyGroupOperations>false</InteractionPropertyGroupOperations>
    <InteractionPropertyInclExclColumns>false</InteractionPropertyInclExclColumns>
    <InteractionPropertyMoveColumns>false</InteractionPropertyMoveColumns>
    <InteractionPropertyRunningSum>false</InteractionPropertyRunningSum>
    <InteractionPropertyShowHideSubTotal>false</InteractionPropertyShowHideSubTotal>
    <InteractionPropertySortColumns>false</InteractionPropertySortColumns>
    </InteractionProperties>
    </Analysis>
    </ServerInstance>
    4) Save your changes and close the file.
    5)
    Restart Oracle Business Intelligence.
    Mark as correct if it is helpful :)
    Thanks.

  • Report Links issue in obiee 11g

    hi all,
    we are using obiee 11.1.1.5 version. we are facing issue with report links. when there is no data in the dashboard, the dashboard is displaying only Refresh button, it is not displaying Export and Print(even though we customized the report links to display Refresh, Export, Print). when there is data in the dashboard it is displaying Refresh, Export and Print as expected. Is this product limitation or a bug in obiee.

    You need to repost this in the OBI-EE forum.

  • Downloading a file from a report link

    I have a report link that sends a couple parameters to a secondary page.
    The secondary page has a process in it that selects a blob file from a table and then downloads that file.
    However, there is no browser download file dialog window that pops-up when the link is clicked.
    The file just displays in the browser. So, I'm thinking I have something wrong with my MIME header.
    The process that downloads the file is:
    <code>
    DECLARE
    l_length NUMBER;
    l_lob_loc BLOB := EMPTY_BLOB();
    l_mime_type warm_files.mime_type%TYPE;
    BEGIN
    apex_application.g_page_text_generated := true;
    apex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    select blob_content, dbms_lob.getlength(blob_content), mime_type
    into l_lob_loc, l_length, l_mime_type
    from WARM_FILES
    where context_id = :P12_CONTEXT_ID
    and file_id = :P12_FILE_ID
    -- set up HTTP header
    OWA_UTIL.mime_header (l_mime_type, FALSE);
    -- set the size so the browser knows how much to download
    HTP.p ('Content-length: ' || l_length);
    -- close the headers
    OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
    -- download the BLOB
    wpg_docload.download_file (l_lob_loc);
    END;
    </code>
    The :P12 variables are the parameters coming in from the link.
    There are no errors. The file just displays in the browser window.
    Any clues as to what I'm missing are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    alan.

    Hi Alan,
    try this...
    This is my procedure which I adapted to yours...
    <code>
    DECLARE
    l_length NUMBER;
    l_lob_loc BLOB := EMPTY_BLOB();
    l_mime_type warm_files.mime_type%TYPE;
    l_file_name VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
    apex_application.g_page_text_generated := true;
    apex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    SELECT null,
    BLOB_CONTENT,
    name,
    DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(blob_content)
    INTO l_mime_type,
    l_lob_loc,
    l_file_name,
    l_length
    from WARM_FILES
    where context_id = :P12_CONTEXT_ID
    and file_id = :P12_FILE_ID;
    -- set up HTTP header
    owa_util.mime_header( nvl(l_mime_type,'application/octet'), FALSE );
    -- set the size so the browser knows how much to download
    HTP.p ('Content-length: ' || l_length);
    -- the filename will be used by the browser if the users does a save as
    htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="'||substr(l_file_name,instr(l_file_name,'/')+1)|| '"');
    -- close the headers
    OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
    -- download the BLOB
    wpg_docload.download_file (l_lob_loc);
    END;
    </code>
    Hope it helps.

  • Error on BW reports link

    Currently we're experiencing an error on our BW reports link wherein our BW reports thru Internet Explorer can not be displayed. By clicking one of the reports the page can't be displayed. Currently what we are doing just to resolve the problem is to restart our BWserv using stopsap then startsap just to refresh the server. After that everything is normal again. Can you please help me isolate what causes the problem inorder to prevent this from happening again.

    for the BW webreports to work
    the ICMAN (internet communication manager) should be running which you can check from transaction SMICM
    and sap/bw/BEX node should be active in transaction SICF
