Report link that will open to a new window

Hi,
I need a report link that will open to a new window. Below is my code.
{="<ahref=\"http://<server>:<port>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sRefresh=Y&sPath
ParentFolder,subfolder&sDocname=<Report Name>=wid"\">"[ID]+"</a>"}
Thank you.
Rose

Add the parameter sWindow=new to your URL
...openDocument.jsp?sDocname=SalesReport&sWindow=new

  • PDF link that will open in a new window.

    Is there a way to link to a PDF file so that it will open in a new window. The same way that a link to an external page can do. Can I put it in iDisk and do it that way.

    1. Create a folder in your iDisk/Web/Sites folder.
    2. Name it something like 'files' or whatever
    3. Copy your .pdf or any other file to that folder
    4. web.mac.com/username/nameofthefolder/nameofthefile.extension is the address at which the file will be stored on the web
    Example: http://web.mac.com/username/files/nameofthefile.pdf
    Put this url as Link to: an external page (changing username and name of the file).
    It should work with open in a new window.
    Regards,

  • Creating hyperlinks that will open in a new window

    I am an avid user of Aperture and iWeb. I love the interface of the Aperture web layouts, but I am also trying to link them to my iWeb site. The easy thing would be to have my iWeb links just open my Aperture photo galleries in a new window so that viewers of my galleries can just close that window instead of hitting the back button a thousand times. How can I do this???
    If this isn't possible, any other suggestions? I can't seem to insert a link into my Aperture galleries to link viewers back to the main gallery pages.

    You need to add the expression target="_blank" to your published hyperlinks. The format of the hyperlink would be...
    [a href ="xyz.html" target="_blank"] but the [...] needs to be replaced with <...> in order to get the HTML to work
    Here is an example for my own website...
    ===>www.DirtDoog.com<===</a>
    This change to your hyperlinks will need to be made to the published HTML files that iWeb generates. If you have just one or two links that need to be changed, you can probably do it by hand. Otherwise, you will appreciate programs like MassReplaceIt (http://www.hexmonkey.brownhost.com/) that can execute batch processes on an entire folder of HTML files at a click of the mouse.

  • How can I embed a PDF in my Captivate 5.5 project that will open in a new window when the user click

    I put a glossary button in my project. When the user clicks on the button, I want the file to open in a new browser window. This works in preview mode, but not when I publish it. What am I doing wrong?

    I've tried the download three times. It reports that installation was successful, but when I use Firefox I still get only an option to download the .pdf; I still can't read it within the browser. This fix WAS for Firefox 5.0, right?

  • Create a new page that will open in a separate window

    Hi, I would like to add a new page to my website but have it open into a new window when linked to instead of replacing the page that was open thereby having both pages open side by side. The example would be having my bio open up along side my about us page if a link is chosen. Then the reader can see both and close the bio when done and continue on from my about us page. Is this possible? How? Thanks in advance.

    You can set navbar links to open in new window with this snippet, add the following to your pages using HTML Snippet:
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    function setTarget_blank() {
    nav_layer = parent.document.getElementById('nav_layer');
    nav_links = nav_layer.getElementsByTagName('a');
    for (i=0; i<nav_links.length; i++)
    nav_links[].target = '_blank'; // force links to open in new widow
    if (window.addEventListener) {
    window.addEventListener("load",setTimeout("setTarget_blank()", 500),false);
    } else if (window.attachEvent) {
    window.attachEvent("onload",setTimeout("setTarget_blank()", 500));
    } else {
    window.onload = function() {setTarget_blank();}
    </script>

  • How do I make it the default that when I click on a link it will open in a new tab?

    Particularly when I am doing a Google search, but also when I am in a site, I find I frequently have to right click and force 'open in a new tab' to avoid the link overriding the current tab. I want to have all links I click on automatically open in a new tab. My settings are set to go to the new tab immediately - that works fine - but too often I have to immediately back-page and re-click using the right-click menu to avoid losing my search or origin page. This is annoying when there are several links I want to explore, and have to backtrack to get to them.
    Firefox is my default browser, 29.0.1 at the moment, and it runs on an old Dell laptop using WinXP. Before asking this I did check the available support info without finding an answer. I followed the instructions in the article about Google and the about:config but it did no good - it still defaults to opening in the current tab. It might seem like a small thing but in my search for answers I saw some folks who have the reverse problem - they want links to open in the same tab - so clearly it is a settings issue. How do I fine tune mine to get the result I prefer? Thanks!!

    Google search and other websites have a user preference that can be set to open a search result in a new tab or a new window, for users who are logged in to their website.
    Otherwise, when you don't have a 3-button mouse or a scroll pad with "middle-click" functionality, you can use '''{Ctrl + Click}''' to open a hyperlink in a new Tab.

  • Links that should open in a new tab now open in new windows and I don't know why.

    All of a sudden my Firefox browser has started opening links that would usually open in a new tab come up in a new window. "Open new windows in a new tab instead" is still selected as it has always been, and unless someone has changed a setting on my laptop without my knowing I am pretty sure that I have not made this change myself.

  • Is there a way I can click on a link designed to open in a new window/tab and have it replace the current tab instead?

    For example, if I go to [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20435580 an abstract on PubMed] and click on either of the full text icons, Firefox will open a new tab. I want the full text to replace the tab with the abstract, instead.
    The best thing I can figure out now is to Ctrl-click the icons so they open in the background, then use Ctrl+W to close the current window.

    Hi,
    In your Firefox -> Preferences/Options -> Tabs, you can select the check box "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately". You would still need to go back and close the original tab, but this would help you with part of the issue.
    Thanks,
    Michelle

  • Send mail with link that will open in new window.

    hi,
    i wrote a send mail class which sends a link with text/plain.
    i want to open the link in a new page when the user clicks on it.
    i don't want to use html, only text/plain.
    can any one help?

    You can either send a text/plain e-mail with just the URL, in which case it's up to the mailreader what it does when you click on the link, or you can send a text/html e-mail with URL, and again it's up to the mailreader whether to treat this properly or not.

  • Whenever I click on a link that should open in a small window, it doesn't open. Help?

    For example, if I click on an icon to log-in, normally a box will pop up so I can type in my password and username, but ever since the latest upgrade, that window won't open.
    I added the troubleshooter add-on and will restart my firefox, hopefully it will work.

    Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Clicking on TOC link in CHM Opens in a New Window

    Hello RHelpers,
    I have some merged help files that are structured like this:
    pcdlrn.chm (this is our main help)
         pcdbasic.chm (this is one of several "child" chms that are merged below the main help's own toc)
              automationobjects.chm (and this one is a "grandchild" chm merged into pcdbasic.chm's toc)
    (Note that automationobjects.chm is compiled using third party tools. All other helps are RH projects.)
    I'm running into a problem with automationobjects.chm when viewed within pcdlrn.chm. If I expand the core.chm TOC until I get to the automationobjects.chm project, and then expand its TOC and click on TOC pages, the automationobjects.chm topics opens up inside of a new instance of the help viewer. I've seen this problem before, and it usually has something to do with the merged help using a different windows definition than the help it's merged into. But they're all using the same help window definition, defined as "HtmlHelp".
    What's weird is that if I just open up pcdbasic.chm (the parent help that holds the merged automationobject.chm) and do the same thing, the topics inside automationobjects.chm behave properly, opening inside of the parent chm window as expected.
    Any recommendations on getting this to open within a single help viewer when viewed within pcdlrn.chm, its grandparent?
    I'm using Windows Vista/32 Bit OS, RoboHelp 7.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jared

  • Creating a link in a PDF form to open into a new window

    I have created the PDF form and every thing seems to be working fine. But I would like to set a link in the form that would open into a separate page. I have tried target="_blank" and onclick="window.open(this.href, 'child', 'scrollbars,width=650,height=600'); return false" with no success. Can someone give me some direction on how to create a link within a PDF form that will open into a new window?

    Try this, using JavaScript:
    app.launchURL("http://www.adobe.com",true);

  • When I click on a web link and hold down ctrl the page will not open into a new tab, it is just opening in a new window. How do I correct this?

    When I use to hold down the ctrl key and left click on a web link, the page use to open into a new tab. For some reason this is not working anymore. Instead when I hold down the ctrl key and left click on a web link, the link will open into a new window. How do I fix this?

    I figured out how to correct it. Not sure what exactly was happening. But I started into private browsing and then turned it off. It's been working correctly ever since I did private browsing.

  • When I try to open a link (which would automatically open in a new window), for example a larger image, or a link etc, it opens but will not load. It either refuses to load or, in the case of an image, says 'stopped'.

    As I say, since I updated to 3.6.15 I am unable to open links off a webpage that should open in a new window, or even open enlarged photographs in a separate window. Either, in the case of the latter, I get the message "stopped" in the bottom of the browser window, or in the former case it either appears to begin to load the new page but then stalls. Sometimes I don't even get this, but end up with "(Untitled)" appearing in the tab label.
    As you can imagine, this is causing a great deal of problems and I am keen to sort it out asap.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Why won't Safari open links in a frame in a new window?

    I am having trouble with Safari not opening links on a certain page. I am using OS 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.2.  The links on this site work in Firefox and Chrome, but not Safari. I have tried the same page on older computers with older versions of Safari, and they work like they always have.
    The only thing I can think of that might be causing an issue is that the links reside on a frame within a webpage.  If I hold down command and click the link it will open in a new tab, but I don't want to have to hold down the command key every time.
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    -Kristen

    Okay, I think I know a little more about why Safari is having issues with these links.  The link has some Javascript in it (onclick="logAction('Lesson Planet - Quick Link');return true;")  that records that it was clicked for statistics logging:
    <a href="http://www.sbceoportal.org/jsp/lesson_planet.jsp" title="Thousands of searchable lesson plans vetted by teachers." target="_blank" onclick="logAction('Lesson Planet - Quick Link');return true;">
    <img src="quick_links_files/lesson_planet.jpg" width="230"></a>
    When I take the Javascript out, Safari will open the link.  I'd really like to leave the Javascript in, because we are recording statistics this way.  Is there any workaround?
    Thanks,
    Kristen
