Report on infoset

Hi,
Please could anyone help me in solving the issue for Infoset where I have four ODS's and three Info-Objects. But when I report on it,there is some mismatch in data.All the data targets are loaded with the data. I have validated the data of each ODS against r3 and it is showing correct.In my report i have used 1rowcount to display the number of records(in this scenario it is the no.of errors occurred for a particular user against a company code).The value of 1rowcount for each ODS is showing correct no.of records.But the value of 1rowcount for the infoset is showing different.I have checked the join conditions also,it seems to be correct.What may be the reason for this mismatch?
Can we see the contents of an infoset while executing the query?I am also not very clear about the concept of 1rowcount.

Is there anyway to include the 1rowcount of ods in report while i am creating query on infoset?The 1rowcount of infoset is showing a large value when compared to the 1 rowcount of individual ODS.Anyway in infoset the join condition is there and the no.of records should be less right?

Yes, but I am not able to figure exactly how to implement it? I mean I can do this same code in SE38 where I know names of the internal tables. But when in SQ02 we can't modify/read system tables (I found name of the system tables using report generated by SQ01). So how you will access them, then how you will reflect our changes in output ALV grid?

You will see 71     60000984     20/10/2009 is not the latest one, therefore I don't want that row. I can do the ABAP logic for this, but exactly what and how to implement in SQ02?

How to create reports and infosets in E recruiting

Hi we are planning to create reports and infosets in E recruiting module Though I am not a developer I need to write functional designs for creating reports and Infosets.For the same I need to know what should be our approach and what all things we should keep in mind.and how creating reports and infosets is different from the ones in SAP R/3.

Hierarchy problem when Reporting on Infoset

Hi,
I am reporting on Infoset which is made up of 2 ODS and Customer Master.
ODS 1: General ledger: Line items 1
ODS 2: General ledger Line items- additional fields.
ODS 1 consists of G/L Account.
I have put G/L Account in the filters and i have restricted it by means of the Hierarchy Node Variable.But when am executing the report its giving the error as Variable is Invalid.
By restricting in this similar way i have created quite number of reports in Infocube that contains G/L Account.Moreover in those reports also G/L Account has been restricted by the same Hierarchy Node Variable as in the report on Infoset.
I would like to know whether any constraints when reporting on Infosets?

Wrong data when i create a report on infoset in BI 7.0

Customer No has the master data(C100,C200,C300,C400) and C300 and C400 are not performed any transaction in the cube.
Created a infoset with left outer join on infoobject (Customer No) and the Infocube(which has the transactions done by the Customer)
i kept the Customer No in the rows and the Netsales in the column of the report in BI 7.0 query desiner and when i run the query i got the result as C100 and C200 only not C100,C200,C300,C400
But the result should show C100,C200,C300 And C400
Please clarify me what could be the problem ?

Did you select Customer from the cube or the Infoobject for Infoset?

Duplicate data on Report of infoset

I have created the inoset with 11 infoproviders.One of the infoprovider has the same contract number with different bond numbers.That's why it's repeating on query but i dont want to repeat those values.
Is it possiblew if change the infoset joins.Currently it's left outer joins.

Definition
An area of the screen belonging to the InfoSet Builder. The InfoProviders that are included in the join are displayed in the join control.
Use
You define join conditions in the join control. There have to be valid join conditions before the system is able to activate the InfoSet. For more information see Defining Join Conditions.
To edit two InfoProviders from one InfoSet, you can call up a separate join control. You can find additional information under Editing InfoProviders in the Join Control.
Structure
Displaying an InfoProvider in the Join Control
InfoProviders are displayed as a table in the join control. A symbol in the header indicates that an InfoObject is time-dependent.
Depending on the type of InfoProvider, the following information is displayed in the rows of the table:

Displaying Join Conditions in the Join Control
A join condition is displayed as a line connecting exactly one InfoObject from a row in one object with exactly one InfoObject from a row in another object.

Navigating in the Join Control
Location of the individual objects
The system inserts each object from a fixed, predetermined default size into the join control.
If you want to insert a new object next to a specific table, select the table you want. The system inserts the new object at the same level, to the right of the selected table.
If no table is selected, the system inserts the new object at the same level, to the right of the table furthest away on the right.
You are able to position each ODS object and each InfoObject freely in the join control. Position the cursor over the header of the object that you want to move, press the left mouse-button, and keeping the button pressed down, drag the object to its new position.
The positioning of the individual objects within the join control does not affect the way the join is processed.
Size of the individual objects
Each time you click on the Zoom in icon, the view is enlarged by 10%.
Each time you click on the Zoom out icon, the view is reduced by 10%.
The Auto-arrange function arranges the objects automatically into an overview.
Navigator
You click on the Hide/Display Navigator function to get to the navigation help.
These functions are also available from the context menu of the join control.
The navigator is particularly useful if not all the objects are visible at the same time.
If you want to change the section of the screen that is displayed, you move the red frame in the navigator.
If you want to change the size of the objects, you adjust the dimensions of the frame itself:
Reducing the frame has the same effect as the zoom-in function.
Enlarging the frame has the same effect as the zoom-out function.
You can also choose the functions Zoom in, Zoom out and Show/Hide Navigator in the context menu for the join control.
Changing the descriptions
The descriptive texts that are used in the metadata repository for the InfoProviders and their attributes are also used in the join control.
If you use InfoProviders or InfoObjects more than once as attributes in the join, it helps if you change these descriptive texts for the purposes of the InfoSet. This enables you to identify the individual objects more easily.
Choose the Change Description function. An overview of all the texts is displayed beneath the join control.You are able to change each of these texts.
The following functions are available:

Editing InfoProviders in the Join Control
Use
In order to define join conditions between two InfoProviders, you can bring up a new display screen separately and edit there.
To get an overview using the InfoProviders contained in the InfoSet, we recommend using the join control for the Change InfoSet screen. For this display a zoom factor of 50%, for example, would be suitable.
To edit individual InfoProviders within the InfoSet, we recommend using the separate display of two InfoProviders in the join control for the Editing Selected Objects screen. For this display a zoom factor of 120%, for example, would be suitable.
Prerequisites
You have transferred the InfoProviders you want from the Change InfoSet screen into the join control. For more information see Editing InfoSets.
Procedure
You are in the Change InfoSet screen in the join control. Press the buttons CTRL + Shift, and select the two InfoProviders you want.
Choose Selected Objects. The Editing Selected Objects screen appears. The system displays both InfoProviders in full size.
Set or delete the join conditions you want.
The following functions are available from the context menu (right mouse-click) of an entry in a table:

Most easiest way to create
Decide on the various Infotypes we want to make the query. Decide on the area where we want to query i.e Global area or Standard area. Standard area is client specific and globel area will include all clients.
Menu : HR u2013 PM u2013 Admn - Information System - Adhoc Query
Select area standard and select the user group already created
Creation of new query :
TC SQ03 - Select Environment u2013 Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
TC SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset u2013 Create u2013 enter name of Infoset - Data source -- > Table join by basis table u2013 give name of table e.g pa0000 - Enter - Click on insert table if we want to include more tables u2013 give name of table one by one and after finishing, place cursor on the joining lines and right click to delete unwanted relationships - check - and go back - field groups - include all table fields - click on generate button   - go out
TC SQ03 - Select user group -   eg. Payroll
Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets - put tick on payroll - save and go back
TC PAAH - Expand the nodes and put tick on relevant fields depending upon necessity
Save the query by giving the same name as infoset for easyness..

Report on Infoset is not working

Hi All
I was having couple of queries on one infoset which is based on 2 ODS. Later i have removed one ODS and inserted the new ODS. now when i am opening the query it is showing error for those fields which were present in old ODS which i have removed, i adjusted the query by replacing them with new char of the new ODS.
So now query should work fine but it is still giving some error. When clicking( Double click) on some row fields it is showing error message which indicates that the field has been corrupted.
Did anyone face this problem earlier, please provide some input on this issue

Problem is still same. Let me explain again
We were having one infoset which had 2 ODS. We developed some query on it. Later we removed one OD and inserted the new one and changed the query fields accordingly. Now we are not able to execute the query on infoset.When clicking( Double click) on some row fields it is showing error message which indicates that the field has been corrupted.
I have tried following things
1. Created a new query on infoset: Its Not working
2. Created ODS again and new query: Its not working
3. Created a MP on these 2 ODS and new query on it: Its Working
4. Created query on both ODS: Its Working
Only in case of infoset its not working.
We are in regular communication with SAP but still issue is unresolved.
Any idea ???

InfoSet in SAP BI 7.10 and Key figure aggregation

I am new in SAP BI area. I have my first problem.
I want to create a report for the profit of goods.
The cost of goods(cogs) are constant for each material for one month.
The formula to calculate the profit of goods = sales turn over u2013 cogs of month *sales amount.
I have defined in BW time dependent infoObejct with attribute cogs.
I have 2 info Sources. InfoCube for transactional sales data from R/3 and material cogs master data loaded from csv file each month to infoObject.
The info Provider for report is InfoSet (transactional Cube and cogs infoObject) .
My problems are
1) When I create an InfoSet, SAP BW create automatically new technical name for all characteristics and key figures and the first technical name should be alias fr each InfoCube and InfoObject in the InfoSet.
2) The new technical name infoSet erased my aggregation references characteristic (=calmonth)
3) In the report the key figure cogs was aggregated for each customer sales and customers, that means the value of cogs is not constant, when it is aggregated according to customer sales order.

Diff b/w Infoset and multiprovider BI 7.0 onwards

Hi gurus,
Could somebody tell me the difference b/w Infoset and multiprovider BI 7.0 onwards. I mean earlier we were not able to add cube to an infoset. It allowed us to add only ODS and info object . Since the new version allow us to add cubes too then what is the diff b/w Infoset and multiprovider. Since both of them are full filling the same purpose ?

An InfoSet describes data sources that are usually defined as joins for ODS objects or InfoObjects (characteristics with master data). A time-dependent join or temporal join is a join that contains an InfoObject that is a time-dependent characteristic.
MultiProvider is a type of InfoProvider that combines data from a number of InfoProviders and makes it available for reporting purposes. The MultiProvider does not itself contain any data. Its data comes entirely from the InfoProviders on which it is based. These InfoProviders are connected to one another by a union operation.
InfoProviders and MultiProviders are the objects or views that are relevant for reporting.

Bex Report Performance

Dear Friends,
I would like to know is the complex authorizations can also cause the Bex report performance.
One of my scenerio is like there are two users A & B
A is having relevant authorizations for reporting, Drill down etc which are required.
B is having SAP All authorization.
When the same report has been executed by both users on the same system.
the data retrieved by user B(SAP_ALL authorization) is quite faster than User A.
Its like ther diffference of about 10 minutes.
There are some exsclude selections in report.
So my conclusion is like the complex authorizations do also hampers the query performance.

     Can you help us understand what was the exact problem and how you resolved it / solution at Extraction / Modeling / Reporting end.
     I have a quite similiar issue with my report i have Header + Item report on Infoset
u2022     Header report takes seconds and item report takes minutes
u2022     The same report executed with exact parameter has inconsistent performance results meaning one time it takes 1 minutes next time same report same user and same authorization takes 5 minutes.
    Any help on this would be really greatfull. Suspecting is not an issue with the report at all , as no changes happened between the pre and post check.
_Additional Information : _
We Create Secondary -Bitmap index every week end i do not see that is one of the route cause.
Except that we have our regular daily loads that are running for master data loads and transaction data loads in series.

Crystal Report installation roadmap

Hi All,
I googled and found that the the SAP data can be extracted only if SAP BW is configured. We have a different requirement
InfoSet Queries are developed, which extracts data from SAP tables
We need to customize the design of the report, therefore plan to have temporary extracted data in InfoSet query and
install and integrate Crystal Report with Infoset Queries for customizing the layout.
Are our concepts correct about crystal report? If yes, how can we integrate CR with SAP, keeping in consideration that we haven't implemented SAP BW.
In short, installation/configuration of the following scenerio
SAP Tables -> InfoSet Query -> Crystal Report -> Custom Layout with Infoset Query data -> Print

Actually, the objective is to design reports with customized heading without using ABAP. For the purpose, InfoSet queries are created. Now I'm looking for a tool, e.g. Crystal Reports etc., to design queries output in professional way.
What do you suggest, which product should I opt for temporary purpose? We will be acquiring BOBJ in next fiscal year, which I hope will make our life easy for developing/designing new reports. But at current, which product/roadmap should be focus on?

Infoset - Performance and Design Question .

Hello BW Gurus,
I have a question regarding the infoset.
We have a backlog report designed as follows:
sd_c03 - with around 125 chracteristics and kf's - daily load will have around 10 K records at a time.
custome cube - say - zcust01 with around 50 characters and KF's.- daily full load aroun 15 K records.
My question:
1.We have infoset ontop of this 2 cubes for reporting. Can we use infoset for reporting .I used infoset for master data and DSO reporting. Do you guys see any performance issue with using the infoset instead of multiprovider. Is there any alternative instead of reporting from infoset.
2.Also I executed the SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS program for the above cube and some dimesions are more then 25% like 58%, 75%,even 102%. So this has to be fixed for sure. Is it correct.if we don't change the design then what will be the consequences.
Please advise. We are in the development and the objects are not yet moved to production yet.Again thanks for your help in advance.

Multiproviders are a great tool that can be used freely to "combine" data without adding much overhead to the system. You may need to combine data of different applications (like Plan and Actual). Another good use is from a data modeling point of view...you can enable "partitioning" of the data by using separate cubes for separate years of data. This way the cube are more manageable, and with an InfoProvider on top the data can be combined for reports if reqd (instead of having one huge cube with all the data).
Also using a multiprovider as an 'umbrella' infoprovider, you can easily make changes to underlying InfoProviders with minimum imapct to the queries.
You should go for multi-provider when the requirement is to report on combined data coming from different infoproviders.
Multi-providers combines data using union operation, that means all values of underlying infoproviders are taken into consideration. On ther other hand, Infoset works on the principle of join. Join forms the intersection and only the common data from underlying infoprovider are considerd..............In terms of performance infoset is better since it fetch less number of records.........
