Report portlets displays 10 rows whatever max row setting is applied

I have several reports in my 9.0.2.6 portal where the portlet settings are set to show max 20 rows pr page. When placed on a page these default to showing only 10 rows and then displays the 'next' button. Is there som bug or setting that I should know about?

This happens only when a page parameter is applied to the portlet.

  • APEX 3.1 Report pagination style limited by max row count

    I am working on an application using APEX 3.1 and am having trouble keeping the report pagination style as a select list when the max row count for the report is greater than 8000. If I use the select list as the pagination method, the first time that the first page is viewed is fine however all subsequent pages begin to use the "next" and "previous" link method of pagination. This is only occurring when the max row count is higher than 8000 and a select list is used for pagination.
    My question is: is the style of pagination, in Oracle APEX (3.1), limited by the potential number of rows returned for the report? If not, is this a bug with my version of Oracle APEX?

    The source of my problem was that the report referenced a page item for the number of rows. That select list referenced a named List of Values (LOV) that limited the number of rows that the report could display. I removed that reference and my problem disappeared!

  • How to display more than 10 rows in an Auto Updating Report

    I followed Carl Backstorm's example, http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:40:525653462286833::NO:RP:: to create a page with an auto update report/region. It's working fine (thanks, Carl) but I can't have the report display all rows (38 rows in total). Everytime I press the "Manual Refresh" button, it shows 10 (the first 10) rows only.
    When the report displays at the first time, it shows all the rows (38 rows). Number of Rows and Maximum Row Count are set to 999999 and "No Pagination Selected" in the report region. But after I press the "Manual Refresh" button or specifiy an update time value (like 1 second) to have it auto update, then it only display the first 10 rows.
    Is there a way to display more than 10 rows in an Auto Updating Report using Carl's example auto update report/page? Anyone can help? Thank you.

    Yes, I changed it to:
    function table_object(pId){
         this.id = pId;
         this.start_record = 1;          //optional
         this.num_record = 50; //optional
         this.num_record2 = 50;          //optional
    I don't quite understand how these vaiables are used for though. Thanks.

  • How to set Max Rows when I search extended attribute in Admin Setting?

    When I search extended attributes in Admin Setting, the default max row is 500.
    Can I change the Max rows' Setting?
    Thanks

    We don't have a feature config for this in the core application, however you can adjust the 500 limit using a ready report.  Ready Reports is a solution pack that allows you to create saved searches in the form of reports.  You can get the ready reports solution pack in the latest extensibility pack.

  • Pagination disappears after setting 'max row count'

    I have a report with app. 4500 records (with the default of 15 lines per page) and a pagination scheme of 'Row Ranges 1-15 16-30 in select list (with pagination)'.
    When running the report, all is working fine and i get the information in the select list '.. of more than 500'.
    Then i inserted some values in the 'max row count'-field:
    a value of 2000: it's working as expected
    a value of 4000 (or more): the pagination disappears and won't be desplayed :-(
    Any ideas, what i have done wrong?
    Thanks
    Rainer

    Hi
    This problem - select list dissapearing when > 32k still persists in Version 3.
    A neat workaround is to use a page item to set the number of rows disaplyed.
    Where there is a large number of rows in the table and the max rows is also large, simply set the page item value for the number of rows to a larger value say 200 - then - if the select list now becomes less than 32K the select list will be shown.
    It's a matter of balancing the number of rows shown on the page with the total number of rows in the table / max rows combination.
    It's not perfect but it works.
    Hope this helps.

  • Interactive report max row count

    Is there a way to set IR max row count dynamically?
    To improve performance, I would like to set this value to 200 when users run the report and set this value to 50000 when users download the report.

    A dirty solution to this could be , create IR report with rowum < 201 and then add a link to the region header for downloading report. Point this link to another page with the same sql query (classic report) and select the template as CSV.
    Hope this helps.

  • Writing large xmltype data to UTL_FILE and setting max row per file

    Hey Gurus,
    I am trying to create a procedure (in Oracle 9i) that writes out xml data I have created into several xml files (file would probably be to large for one xml file output...I am doing this for 270,000 rows of data), setting the max rows to 1000 rows per file. I know one would have to create a looping contsruct to do this but I am just not adept enough in PL/SQL to figure it out at the moment.
    So essentially their would be some sort of loop construct and substr process that creates a file after looping through 1000 rows and then continues the count and creates a another file until all 270 xml files are created. Simple enough right...lol? Well I've tried doing this and haven't gotten anywhere. My pl/sql coding skills are too elementary I am guessing. I've only been doing this for about three months and could use the assistance of a more experienced person here.
    Here are the particulars...

  • RDL report(2008).Want to display different number of rows from second page onwards than the first page.

    I have used pagination to display the report data.I have used page break.I want to display 10 records on first page and from second page onwards I want to display 25 records on all remaining pages.
    I followed this link to show 25 records for all page. "http://www.sqlchick.com/entries/2010/9/11/displaying-fixed-number-of-rows-per-ssrs-report-page.html". Now suggest me how display 10 records only on first page having 25 from second page onwards.

    Hi mukesh_harkhani,
    According to your description, you want to insert page break for different number of rows, display 10 rows on the first page and 25 rows on the following pages. After testing the issue in my SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 environment, we can use the
    method below to achieve your requirement:
    In your scenario, right-click the group which contains the expression: =CEILING(RowNumber(Nothing)/25) to open the Group Properties dialog box.
    Modify the original expression to the following in the Group on textbox:
    =Floor((RowNumber(Nothing)+14)/25)
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • How to set Max Rows Retrieved by user security profile in CMC?

    Hi
    As we know, it is possible to set Max Rows Retrieved with query property (in the area 'Limits').
    However, it is mentioned in official documents that this setting can be overwritten by the BOE administrator in user security profile. Could any one tell me how this is done in CMC?
    Thanks in advance!
    Qing

    Hi Rishit,
    Thanks for your answer!
    Had a long holiday, so didn't give a feedback in time. Sorry for that!
    There is a tab 'Controls' in Universe Parameter, where there is a setting used to limit the size of result set.
    Then what's the priority between this setting and the similar setting in WebI query properties?
    However, acutally my question is how to set the limitation by user security profile in CMC.
    Do you have any idea about it?

  • Max Rows in 11g Tables

    It seems no matter what I set as the max display rows for a table in 11g Analysis, it stops at 500 and makes the user select the arrow for a new page. I've checked the MBeans that control the setting in instanceconfig.xml and have found that the max is 65,000. The main issue is that if a user tries to export data from a dashboard it only exports 500 records. I've also checked the maximum in the RPD and it is set to 100,000. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? When exporting from a report, does it limit to 500 rows?
    Thanks!

    *19.3.1.2 Manually Configuring Settings for Data in Views*
    You can configure a similar group of settings that affects the display of data in tables, pivot tables, and graphs. While the settings are mainly the same, you must include the element within each appropriate parent element to override the default setting that applies to that view. For example, the views all use the MaxVisiblePages element. You must include that element within each of the Table, Pivot, and Charts parent elements, to override the default value of that setting for each of those view types.
    Before you begin this procedure, ensure that you are familiar with the information in Section 3.4, "Using a Text Editor to Update Oracle Business Intelligence Configuration Settings".
    To manually edit the settings that change the display of data in views:
    1.Open the instanceconfig.xml file for editing, as described in Section 3.6, "Where are Configuration Files Located?"
    2.Locate the Table, Pivot, and Charts parent sections, in which you must add the elements that are described in Table 19-1.
    3.Include the elements and their ancestor elements as appropriate, as shown in the following example.
    <ServerInstance>
    <Views>
    <Table>
    <MaxVisiblePages>1000</MaxVisiblePages>
    <MaxVisibleRows>500</MaxVisibleRows>
    <MaxVisibleSections>25</MaxVisibleSections>
    <DefaultRowsDisplayed>30</DefaultRowsDisplayed>
    </Table>
    <Pivot>
    <MaxVisibleColumns>300</MaxVisibleColumns>
    <MaxVisiblePages>1000</MaxVisiblePages>
    <MaxVisibleRows>500</MaxVisibleRows>
    <MaxVisibleSections>25</MaxVisibleSections>
    <DefaultRowsDisplayed>30</DefaultRowsDisplayed>
    </Pivot>
    <Charts>
    <MaxVisibleColumns>2000</MaxVisibleColumns>
    <MaxVisiblePages>1000</MaxVisiblePages>
    <MaxVisibleRows>2000</MaxVisibleRows>
    <MaxVisibleSections>25</MaxVisibleSections>
    <JavaHostReadLimitInKB>4096</JavaHostReadLimitInKB>
    </Charts>
    </Views>
    </ServerInstance>
    Note that this example does not include parameters that might exist in the file, but that are centrally managed by Fusion Middleware Control and cannot be changed manually.
    4.Save your changes and close the file.
    5.Restart Oracle Business Intelligence.
    Table 19-1 describes the common elements that affect the display of data in views. If the user exceeds these values, then the Oracle BI Server returns an error message when the view is rendered.
    Table 19-1 Common Elements for Manually Changing the Display of Data in Views
    Element Description Default Value Applicable Views
    DefaultRowsDisplayed
    Specifies the default number of rows to display in the view.
    30
    Pivot Table, Table
    MaxVisibleColumns
    Specifies the maximum number of columns to be displayed in a view.
    300
    Graph, Pivot Table
    MaxVisibleRows
    Specifies the maximum number of rows to be displayed in a view.
    For tables and pivot tables, specifies the number of rows that is displayed on the tooltip for the Display Maximum Rows per Page paging control button.
    500
    Graph, Pivot Table, Table
    MaxVisiblePages
    Specifies the maximum number of page choices (or pages in PDF) to be displayed in a view.
    1000
    Graph, Pivot Table, Table
    MaxVisibleSections
    Specifies the maximum number of sections to be displayed in a view.
    This element does not apply when a slider is in place for a graph. The SectionSliderDefault and SectionSliderLimit elements apply to limit section values when a slider is in place. See Table 19-2.

    Graph, Pivot Table, Table
    JavaHostReadLimitInKB
    Specifies the maximum amount of data that is sent to the browser for a single graph.

  • Can't View All Records if Max Row Count is null

    Hi,
    There are over 2500 records in a table and if Max Row Count is set to nothing in report attributes, the user is restricted to view only 500 records. And If Max Row Count is set more than 2500 then user is able to view all records but taking more time to display report.
    What to do to minimise process time and allow user to view all the records. ?
    Pagination Scheme : Row Ranges X to Y of Z (with pagination)
    Number of Rows : 100
    Number of Rows (Item) :     <empty>
    Max Row Count :           <empty>
    Thanks,
    Ven.

    Hi Ven,
    Apex restricts the number of rows returned by a report to 500 by default. You can change this by setting the Max Row Count. Apex does this so that the amount of data returned over the network to the browser is kept to a reasonable amount. The reason it is done this way is because a user in apex does not maintain a stateful connection to the database and as a result, rows returned from a query can not be cached in the database and fetched as required.
    From a usability point of view, I'm not sure why a user would want 2500+ rows returned to a screen. They would have to scroll and paginate to find anything of use and network bandwidth would get chewed up in the process. Why not provide the users with query options so that the number rows returned to the browser is restricted to a more manageable amount? If the users require a full hardcopy of the data then you can handle this with csv and pdf options.

  • Max Rows and Grand Totals Please

    hi,
    My report level grand totals only seem to add up correctly when I Set Maximum rows on the Query. Lets say 6 rows for example.
    If I DO NOT specify a Max Row value on the query. My totals are way out.
    Im missing something here guys,, does anyone know what is causing this ?
    Thanks
    n.

    Hi Nicholas,
    Could you re-check that your summary column (which calculates the sum of your field) - in its Property Inspector - it should say Reset At "Report". This field should be defined outside of any group since it is report level summary. You could also try to design a simple report using the Report Wizard where you choose to display the sum of SALARY column at the report level, and compare the results.
    Navneet.
