Report to XML HELP!

I wrote a previous question about this, but perhaps I can
clarify my problem. I need to run a report and output the
results to an XML file. There is a template for the file that
looks like the following:

<state>
<value>Ohio</value>

</forms>
The data that the report outputs needs to be placed between the
value tags. I've read in the documentation about how to use XML
files to customize a reports output, but I'm not sure how to
make the output a separate file. There are 208 tags in the XML
template. I've tried changing the XML tags in the groups, and
that sort of works, but some of the values are static and still
need to have their own group (according the the template, every
variable or field must have a separate group, i.e.
<state>value</state>, <city>value</city>, etc).If anyone can
help, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. This matter is fairly urgent.

I opened a SR with Oracle support and their response was:
The reason XML Publisher is failing while generating the output is because the parser is failing
. This is because the XML document you used is not wellformed. XML elements cann
ot use spaces in their definition without specifying this by an attibute.
Please confirm once again that this is a seeded report and no customizations were appl
ied to it - the XML output file is by default generated using <APPLICATIONS TEMP
LATE REPORT> element. If this is true, the problem should be delt by product sup
port team in order for the development team to generate correectly the output.
Then the Product support team gave me the following response:
For 11i, there is no time frame as they are not working on any new enhancements. And I cannot log an R12 enhancement because you a
re not using R12 and the system wont let me log it for you at this time. And ev
en if I could log it for R12, we do not have any idea of when DEV would release
an enhancement.
I guess the answer is another report modification :o(

How to create a report using XML data source from Crystal Report Designer

Hi,
Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
1.     New Report
2.     From Create New Connection-> XML
3.     Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
4.     Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D -> Finish
Then I can see the following under XML

For this point onwards only I need help. How do I group, add fields and design the layout so I can get an report output as follows.

How can I achieve this kind of a layout using the give xml and xsd? Should I use grouping if so how should I do the grouping?

Error when trying to run an FSG Report via XML Publisher...

hello.
Hope someone can help.
This is our first look into the benefits of XML Publisher in order convince Manager to start using it. Thing is, we really need to get both FSG reports and Dunning Letters working.
We've currently got XML Publisher 5.0.0 and BI Publisher Template Builder for Word v10.1.3.2.0
First up, FSG reports. Having followed this link here:

Ive managed to create a template based upon the basic FSG template supplied. I’ve follwed easy steps but on submitting the request against ANY [its what the notes said] FSG report the error messages from both the log and output files are given.. Those being..
Output file displayed the most productive error message:

ORA-06550: line 133, column 8:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SUBMIT_XML_REQUEST'

Can anyone help please? Or perhaps suggest an alternative to running FSG reports through XML Publisher.
Other thought was, do I need any different versions and/or Publisher Enterprise installing?

Excel Output for Standard Reports using XML Publisher

Hi All,
Customer wants to get Excel Output for the existing Standard/Custom Reports using XML Publisher. I followed the following procedure.
1. Changed the output to XML for Concurrent program ( Trial Balance - Detail )
2. Used the Existing seeded Template
3. Ran the Report using EXCEL as the output.
When I clicked on View Output, I am not able to see the Excel output. I am seeing the HTML tags in the output window. Verified that Viewer Options existed for Excel as follows:
File Format=Excel, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel.
When I ran the report with PDF output. I can see the PDF output.
Ran the HTML output with new Viewer Option ( File Format=HTML, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel) then I can see the output in Browser in the Excel format. I did this test after going through the Metalink Note: Note:316752.1
My question is.. Do I need always choose the HTML ouput in the options window to trigger the Viewer option for HTML. Customer may not like this idea. He would like to choose the Excel Output and see the output in Excel format either in the Browser or Microsoft Excel.
Can someone in this situation before help me out.

2. Why the output is viewable with HTML option and not with Excel option ?

it seems OS package version conflict
Please check glibc and openmotif version (its responsible for reports)
and
Set the environment variable MALLOC_CHECK_=0 and bounce the Concurrent Managers
MALLOC_CHECK_ can be changed in two places :-
1. Add this to the $APPL_TOP/custom<TWO_TASK>_<HOSTNAME>.env
MALLOC_CHECK_=0
Then restart the concurrent managers and retest
2. Change it in the adovars.env file
Again bounce the concurrent managers and retest

Oracle Reports with XML output showing data as asterik character

Hello,
I'm trying to create an Oracle report with xml output. Here is the issue I'm having some of the columns in my report are of datatype number. When I run the report and generate xml file the values for those columns(datatype number) are showing as (*) character, other columns are showing fine. But when I run the report as text output then data is fine. I don't understand why this is happening.
The property of column is Column Type - Database Scalar, Datatype - Number , width 0,-127.
Does the width has to do anything with this?
I'm using Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3, DB version 10g.
Can anyone please help me with the issue I'm having.

I have very simple requirement.
I would like to create a crystal
report using XML. This
XML file will be decided at run time
(not at design time).
Hence i have added a crystal report viewer control to my windows form and did
not choose any data source (i left it blank currently). Now i am trying to load
XML file with the following simple code.

Generating sub reports with XML Datasource in Jasper Report

Hi ,
I have a query related to report generation using Jasper Reports. I have managed to generate main report with XML as a datasource but am unable to do so for subreport. I tried serching through Google but in vain. If by chance I've missed out any of the links, i would be grateful for that. Sample code woukd really make my life better.

Hello,
While this is not possible (directly) for the entire report, you could do one of the following:
1. If you're on SP2 (or higher), you could publish Webi Report Content as a web service. There is more information in the pdf at http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP2/en/xi31_sp2_webi_rich_en.pdf (pg 304) .
2. Use QAAWS to publish queries used in the report as web services.

XML Publisher report giving XML tag output

Dear All,
Please note that we need to convert the standard report 'Bill of Material Comparison Report' to XML Publisher report.
But we were not able to get the desired PDF output instead it shows only XML output.
This report is not a direct concurrent program call to rdf, this concurrent program is triggered from a function.
How can we overcome this issue..,

Could you please confirm whether you have made the standard program's executable as 'XDODTEXE', and created a data definition with the rdf shorname and Data templte with the template defined.

Could you also provide how your calling the report and when the request submitted are u able to see the template name on the submitted request ?
-- The report is called through the application (in Bill of materials through a Form Function) When we select the comparison, it will display a comparison form, where we need to select the appropriate parameters and a button called 'Report' if clicked, it will fire the 'Bill of Material Comparison Report' concurrent program
But after the concurrent program submission, we cannot see any template been attached to the submitted conc. pprog. but the template is been already attached to the concurrent program through the XML Publisher Administrator
