Report Viewer Version 11 - Cannot load assembly?

Hi,
We are using version 11 of Report Viewer to display .rdlc Reports within the application.
On Web Server 1 the Reports render fine.
On Web Server 2 an error is displayed stating "Failed to load assembly".
The difference between the servers is that Web Server 1 has Visual Studio 2012 installed so the dll's are in the GAC aswell as the bin folder of the application.
Web Server 2 does NOT have Visual Studio 2012 installed and the dll's are ONLY in the bin folder.
Web Server 2 is a Production server so I cannot install Visual Studio and as a result the gacutil is not available either as a result.
How can I get these three dll's into the GAC on Web Server 2 given that gacutil is not on the server?
The application checks the GAC first for the dll's eventhough they are in the bin folder?
Thanks,
SK.

Hi NuTech,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Since this forum is to discuss: Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual
Studio Editor. Based on your issue, I think that the issue is more Report control issue, so I suggest you can post this issue directly to
Visual Studio Report Controls forum, it will be better support.
Thanks for your understanding.

  • Web Report Viewer error - Unable to load client print control.

    Dear All,
    We have a problem with Report Viewer print funtionality. Getting the error "Unable to load client print control." on click of Print button.
    We tried all solutions posted in web - nothing resolves the issue.
    The print works fine when we open the report via a browser. But the same is not working through our application. We have the application installed on the Report server itself and the user has Admin previleges.
    Please find below the details
    Report control: ReportViewerWebControl.axd
    Version: 9.0.30729.4402
    SQL server version: SQL Server 2008 R2, 10.50.2500.0 (running on Windows Server 2008 R2 - 64 bit)
    Your help on this would be highly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any specific information.

    Hi, Larry,
    Thank you for your answer which remind me and lead me to the resolution. I have struggling on this SQL Server Report Server 2012/Client printing control for
    2 days.
    I just cannot figure out why it kept prompting non-admin XenApp users for SSRS installation. Thanks for your notes again.
    I have 2008 R2 server setup as XenApp server for the publish apps. We published the IE to user to access Web application with SQL 2012 reporting service in
    the backend.
    In the control environment, users do not have permission to install any software. This SSRS has to be installed as administrator under “Install mode” in XenApp
    server.
    Yes, 32bit IE works for me but 64bit IE works too.
    You just need to ensure which version of IE you’re using to install the SSRS. I’m not aware of using 32bit IE for SSRS installation in server but publish 64bit
    IE to client.  That’s my mistake.
    Thanks again.

  • Crystal report viewer version 10.5.3700 and French

    Hi I'm currently using Crystal reports in Visual Studio 2008 and would like to display the Crystal Report viewer in French. In particular the various report items shown in the report such as "Zoom Factor", etc I'd like determine if there's a way to show this information in French. We're currently using version 10.5.3700 of this control.

    Note that with CR 10.5.x you must use the CR assemblies for .NET. You can not use the Report Designer Component (RDC). Just saying as you posted the issue into Legacy SDKs and I moved it here.
    Re. localization issues see [CR 10.2 Working with Default and Custom Language Resource Files (localization)|http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms227600(VS.80).aspx]
    Above applies to CR 10.5 also.
    And don't forget to search the forums and \ or use the search box at the top right of this web page.

  • Differences between Report Viewer Version 9.0.0.0 and Version 10.0.0.0?

    Hi,
    What are the differences between the Report viewer control (web forms) version 9 and version 10?
    Thanks
    nasayoo

    Hi nasayoo,
    The report viewer control (available for Windows Forms as well as ASP.NET applications) is used to display reports in our applications. However, ReportViewer control can connect to specific SQL server versions when used in Server Mode(or Remote Mode). The
    related MSDN docs for report viewer control that verify this behavior can be viewed at
    Here is the details(version 9.0.0.0, with VS2008, for SQL server 2005+) andHere is the details(version 10.0.0.0 with VS2010, for SQL server
    version 2008+).
    Details information in this article for your reference:

  • Issue With Report Viewer Version 11 On VS2012 & VS2013

    I create a sample project on VS 2012 @ VS2013 and created a report with some static data . I am trying to print the Report generated through report viewer 2012, but it is throwing the following
    "error An error occurred during printing. (0x80070006)".
    I am trying to test this on Windows 8.0 and Windows 7. It is working perfectly fine on Windows 8 . The issue is only on windows 7.
    Checked “Downloaded Program Files” folder.  All the required files were existed.
    Enabled Active X.
    Please suggest me how i can resolve this issue in Windows7 ?.

    Hi Arc Sam,
    Please find the details information below:
    You can install the control using the RSClientPrint.cab file... You can find this file in your VS installation at "\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\ReportViewer\". Below is a link to a related thread

    I check my assembly folder, I found three CrystalDecisions.Web dlls with different version, 11.5.3700.0, 11.5.3300.0, 10.5.3700.0, I try to refer to 11.5.3700.0 it says there is two CrystalDecisions.Web ddls exist in GAC.
    Could you tell why? and how to refer to the right dll?
    Thanks in advance

    11.5.3700.0, is CrystalDecisions.Web.dll for XIR2 and the 2.0 framework
    11.5.3300.0, is CrystalDecisions.Web.dll for XIR2 and the 1.1 Framework
    10.5.3700.0, is CrystalDecisions.Web.dll for Crystal reports basic that ships with Visual Studion2008
    all of these can co-exist in the GAC, so that part is fine.  The problem is that you most likely have multiple references to CD.Web.dll in the config file of your application... IE an additional reference was added to the <add assembly..../> tag in your web.config.
    delete all <add assembly ../> tags from web.config except the one adding 11.5.3700.0
    If you have more than one project in your solution, make sure there are no other versions of CD.Web.dll in those projects as well.

  • Crystal report viewer does not observe the PaperSize and PageOrientation setting

    Hi:
    My application is a 3 tier application, where the WinForm client is connected to the WCF Services hosted in IIS server.
    The report is generated on server side using WCF service, and export as.rpt with data, the .rpt file is then sent to the WinForm client, the Crystal Report viewer is used to load the .rpt file for preview and print.
    On server side I've Microsoft XPS Document Writer installed and set as default printer. On the client side if the default printer is XPS or Nitro PDF creator, the report can be view and print correctly, report design in landscape will be able to show in the landscape in CR viewer, report design using custom paper size (e.g. Half Letter), CR viewer able to show it in Half Letter.
    The problem that I'm facing is when the default printer is set to HP LaserJet P1120 or others (I've tried Epson ESC/P Standard driver), the report is always shown in the portrait, and it will not be able to show in custom paper size either. Here is my code:
         Dim settings As New System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings
         Dim rep as New ReportDocument
         rep.Load(sOutputFileName)     'The report is download from server and save in sOutputFileName
         SetReportPaperSize(rep, sPaperSizeName, False, settings) ' sPaperSizeName store the name of the custom paper used in the report
         CrViewer.ReportSource = rep
       Public Shared Sub SetReportPaperSize(rep As ReportDocument, paperSizeName As String, isHardCopy As Boolean, settings As Printing.PrinterSettings)
          Dim installedPrinters As Printing.PrinterSettings.StringCollection = Printing.PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters
          Dim printers As New List(Of String)
          Dim sPrinter As String
          If installedPrinters.Count = 0 Then
             Return
          End If
          SetPrinterDefaultPaperSize(rep.PrintOptions, paperSizeName, settings)
          With rep.PrintOptions
             .PrinterName = settings.PrinterName
             .PaperSource = PaperSource.Auto
             If paperSizeName.Trim.Length > 0 Then
                .PaperSize = DirectCast(GetPapersizeId(paperSizeName, settings, rep.PrintOptions.PaperSize), CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize)
             End If
          End With
       End Sub
       Public Shared Sub SetPrinterDefaultPaperSize(printOptions As PrintOptions, paperSizeName As String, settings As Printing.PrinterSettings)
          With settings.DefaultPageSettings
             If paperSizeName.Trim.Length = 0 Then
                . PaperSize = GetPaperSize (printOptions.PaperSize, settings)
             Else
                For Each size As Printing.PaperSize In settings.PaperSizes

                Next
             End If
             .Landscape = printOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape
             .Margins.Top = printOptions.PageMargins.topMargin
             .Margins.Left = printOptions.PageMargins.leftMargin
             .Margins.Bottom = printOptions.PageMargins.bottomMargin
             .Margins.Right = printOptions.PageMargins.rightMargin
          End With
       End Sub
       Public Shared Function GetPaperSize(paperSizeId As Integer, defaultPrinterSettings As Printing.PrinterSettings) As Printing.PaperSize
          Dim settings As Printing.PrinterSettings = defaultPrinterSettings
          Dim result As Printing.PaperSize
          If settings Is Nothing Then
             settings = New Printing.PrinterSettings
          End If
          ' Default paper Size defined in the printer
          result = settings.DefaultPageSettings.PaperSize
          For Each size As Printing.PaperSize In settings.PaperSizes
             If size.RawKind = paperSizeId Then
                result = size
                Exit For
             End If
          Next
          Return result
       End Function
       Public Shared Function GetPapersizeId(paperSizeName As String, defaultPrinterSettings As Printing.PrinterSettings Optional defaultpaperSizeId As CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize.DefaultPaperSize) As Integer
          Dim settings As Printing.PrinterSettings = defaultPrinterSettings
          Dim result As Integer = defaultpaperSizeId
          If settings Is Nothing Then
             settings = New Printing.PrinterSettings
          End If
          If Not String.IsNullOrEmpty(paperSizeName) Then
             For Each size As Printing.PaperSize In settings.PaperSizes
                ' Height and Width in Printing.PaperSize is measure in hundredths of an inch
                If size.PaperName.EqualsTo(paperSizeName) Then
                   result = size.RawKind
                   Exit For
                End If
             Next
          End If
          Return result
       End Function
    Setting the PrintOptions.PaperSize and PageOrientation seem like no effect on the viewer. My code to load the report to CR viewer is much more complicated than the code I show above, I've a background worker thread to download the report, and when the worker thread finished download the report from the server, it will assign the report to CRViewer. Do the changes in report PrintOption before assign to CRViewe and after assigning to CRViewer make any different?
    I'm using VS2010, CR XI R2 (Version 11.5.3700.0). Please Help. Thanks
    Regards
    JC Voon

    Hi JC,
    CRXI R2 is a no go with VS 2010, these two are not compatible.
    With CR 11.5 use VS 2005.
    Or Use VS 2010 and CR for VS 2010 (13.0)
    Once you have the supported / compatible conbination of CR and VS, use the In Proc RAS .NET code from below KBA.

  • Error while creating database - Cannot load backend library 'oci.dll'

    Hi all,
    I am newbie to Timesten imdb (in memory database). I do not wish to use oracle rdbms.
    I have installed the Timesten IMDB on Win2003.
    E:\TimesTen\tt70_32\bin>ttVersion.exe
    TimesTen Release 7.0.5.0.0 (32 bit NT) (tt70_32:17000) 2008-04-05T00:54:16Z
    Instance admin: m4sadm
    Instance home directory: e:\TimesTen\tt70_32
    Daemon home directory: e:\TimesTen\tt70_32\srv\info
    While installing, I followed the viewlet at: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/viewlets/tt70_install_win_viewlet_swf.html]
    Now, I am planning to create a database, and so following the viewlet at: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/viewlets/tt70_create_db_win_cc_viewlet_swf.html]
    However, when I give the command (according to the viewlet), I get the following error:
    Command> select * from v$version;
    5102: Cannot load backend library 'oci.dll' for Cache Connect. OS error message '<empty>'.
    The command failed.
    Can anyone provide pointers to resolve this?

    I'm guessing you chose No to the install question about using Cache Connect to Oracle? This would cause certain libraries not to be installed at install time, specifically libraries that would enable you to use TimesTen Cache Connect to cache data from Oracle tables.
    The table "v$version" that you use in your select
    select * from v$version
    only exists on an Oracle RDBMS. It doesn't exist on TimesTen. Moreover the second viewlet you refer to is about using the TimesTen Cache Connect feature to cache tables from Oracle RDBMS. If you're not interested in using Oracle RDBMS, as you say, it would be my assumption that you're also not interested in using the TimesTen Cache Connect feature? So I'm a little confused here about your intentions. Are you interested in using TimesTen as a standalone datastore, or do you want to use it to cache data from tables located in an Oracle RDBMS?
    Thanks.

  • Report Viewer Webpart is Blank in Custom Master Page

    Dear Experts ,
    Recently my team created a new master page to replace seattle default page in Sharepoint 2013. Things were fine till the moment we accessed one of site page containing a Report Viewer Web Part to load SSRS rdl. The web part is blank
    with just standard SSRS toolbar and parameter. To isolate the problem, I have confirmed that the same page works fine in seattle master. I notice that something could be missing in our site (though I am clueless on what those are). There is one post online
    from someone with potentially similar issue, but it does not help in our case. Some pointers from will be appreciated. Cheers.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/selvar/archive/2013/11/28/using-reporting-service-web-part-with-sharepoint-custom-master-pages.aspx

    Hi,
    Please try to add AsyncPostBackTimeout="0" inside the ScriptManager code in your master page.
    <asp:scriptmanager id="ScriptManager" runat="server" enablepagemethods="false" enablepartialrendering="true" enablescriptglobalization="false" asyncpostbacktimeout="0" enablescriptlocalization="true" />
    If the issue still exists, I suggest you provide some error messages or code for further research.

  • Cannot load report from server in Crystal Reports 2013 Viewer

    Hello,
    I am having trouble opening a report that is hosted on a Crystal Reports Server (2013) from the Crystal Viewer.  I've created and uploaded the reports using the report designer (version 2013).  The reports have been uploaded using the "Save As -> Enterprise" to save to my enterprise server.  This part works fine.  I then navigated to the Crystal Reports Viewer to open my report (that I just uploaded w/ the designer) from the server.  Depending on the report, one of two things happens:
    1.) I get a loading bar at the bottom right of the screen that says "Operation in progress . . ." followed by an error message:
    Unable to Refresh Report
    A problem occurred while refreshing on the server. The report may not be configured properly for refresh.
    Please contact your server administrator. (me)
    2.) I get a loading bar at the bottom right of the screen that says "Refreshing <file name of the report> (<server name>)" followed by... nothing.  The loading bar goes away and nothing happens.  It goes back to the screen that shows when the application first loads (blank canvas).
    I've taken some basic troubleshooting steps to try and rule out any potential issues that came to mind, but I've not been successful.
    Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

  • Unable to include report viewer web part. Error is, assembly has a higher version than referenced assembly

    I am making a web part in VS 2010 for SharePoint 2010. The web part uses Report Viewer control. The files I have referenced in my project with "Copy Local = True" option are:
    Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common.dll
    Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll
    Both are version 10 files.
    When I build the project it works fine. But when I add this web part in a page it shows following error.

    than referenced assembly 'Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
    I have already installed both Report Viewer 10 redistribute able and its SP1 but no luck. Also copied these DLLs to my SharePoint site bin folder. Did iisreset many times. .Net framework is 3.5 and OS is Windows Server 2008 R2.
    How to fix this issue?

    Fixed it by updating my web.config which was referencing version 9 instead of 10.

  • Very slow loading time - Crystal Reports Viewer 2008

    Hi,
      I search this forum to find another thread regarding this issue.  Since I've found nothing in particular, I started this one.
      We are currently developping a new report engine based on the .Net Crystal Report Viewer. This engine will be used in our applications to show, print and export reports.  We based the engine on the Crystal Report 2008 version (12.0.2000).  The code is in C#, targeted on the Framework 3.5 SP1.  For the CR runtime, we tested on machines with the SP2 and SP3 versions, as well as on a computer with Crystal Report Developper installed (v12.3.0.601) with no runtimes.  Since the runtime is in x86 only, the engine is compiled in x86 (not ANY CPU)
      When we try to open a report in an application, the first report loading is unusally slower than the others.  If I open a report, close it and open it a second time, the second time is much faster than the first.  While reading the threads, I realized that the first load implies some assembly loading from the Framework (which is normal).
      But since i can take as long as 20-30 seconds to load the first report, I ran some test.  Using the System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.AssemblyLoad event, I've tracked the assemblies being loaded when opening the report and the start time of the loading.  I've discovered that, while most of the CR assemblies takes less than 500 milliseconds to load, there is one that takes at least 3 seconds (20 seconds sometimes) to load : BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeyCodeDecoder.  Each time I ran the tests, it is the assembly that is the slowest (and by far) among them all.
      Prior to this, we were using Delphi with the Crystal Report 10 runtime.  We never had such issues.  Now, some customers are complaining about this behavior.
      For you information, we are using the ReportDocument.Load() method to load documents.  Our reports are all dynamically linked to the database with the DataSourceConnections.SetConnection() method.  The report is being loaded in the viewer using the CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource property.
      Why does it takes so long to load/execute ? Is there something implied with registry keys or Internet access ?  Is there a way to speed up things ?
      Thanks !

    Thanks for your help Don ! :o)
    I know that the CR10 runtime was built on win32 and while I knew that the .Net version of the runtime would be slower due to the Framework and .Net architecture, we did not expect such differences between the two methods.
    You are right that the hardware could play a great factor here, but since I work on this machine for a few years now and I saw the performance from the old CRPE32.dll and the new .Net counterpart, I am really surprised that there is such a difference.  Most of our customers have entry-level desktops and our application always ran well on it, until now.
    So, if it is the way that the CR 2008 runtime works, do you know if your developpers optimized this part with the next version (CR 2010) or it is based on the same engine ?
    Thanks again for your time !

  • Report Server cannot load the extension

    Hi,
    I am developing a custom delivery extension with user interface for SQL Reporting Services. After some other issues that I was able to solve I finally reach this error here: "Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the Custom extension."
    Where "Custom" is my extension name.
    I don't know where the problem is, this is all information I get. I also tried to deploy the PrinterDelivery sample which is part of the official SDK samples for SQL Reporting Services extensions. The weird thing is that this extension does not produce any
    event log entries but it is also not displayed in the user interface.
    I used this here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms153647%28v=sql.110%29.aspx as deployment guide.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi guw,
    By default, we can use the steps below to use a custom assembly in a report:
    Build the assembly.
    Copy the assembly to the following 3 locations:
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager\bin
    Edit rsreportserver.config
    under <delivery>
     <Extension Name="Printer Delivery Sample" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PrinterDelivery.PrinterDeliveryProvider,Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PrinterDeliverySample">
       <Configuration>
        <Printers>
         <Printer>\\Server\MyNetworkPrinter1</Printer>
         <Printer>\\Server\MyNetworkPrinter2</Printer>
         <Printer>MyPrinter</Printer>
        </Printers>
       </Configuration>
     </Extension>
     under <deliveryUI>
     <Extension Name="Printer Delivery Sample" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PrinterDelivery.PrinterDeliveryUIProvider,Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PrinterDeliverySample"/>
    Open the rssrvpolicy.config(uder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin) with text editor. Then add the following code group to the file:
    <CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup"
    version="1"
    PermissionSetName="FullTrust"
    Name="PrinterDeliveryCodeGroup"
    Description="Code group for my delivery extension">
    <IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition"
    version="1"
    Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\yourAssembly.dll"
    />
    </CodeGroup>
    Open the rsmgrpolicy.config(uder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager\bin) with text editor. Then add the following code group to the file:
    <CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup"
    version="1"
    PermissionSetName="FullTrust"
    Name="PrinterDeliveryCodeGroup"
    Description="Code group for my delivery extension">
    <IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition"
    version="1"
    Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager\bin\yourAssembly.dll"
    />
    </CodeGroup>
    Add the assembly reference in the report.
    The following sample extension is for your reference:
    http://msftrsprodsamples.codeplex.com/
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
