Report with image / howto use nvl

HI to all,
i'm playing aroun with image inside a report:
I would like to use an nvl function with an image: here the code, taken from an example app:
select
"PHOTO_CATALOG_ID",
"PHOTO_NAME",
"DESCRIPTION",
"UPLOADED_ON",
"MIME_TYPE",
'<img src="#OWNER#.display_thumb?p_photo_id=' || nvl(PHOTO_CATALOG_ID,0) || ' "/ WIDTH=100 HEIGHT=100>' thumbnail
from "PHOTO_CATALOG"
where
instr(upper("PHOTO_NAME"),upper(nvl(:P1_REPORT_SEARCH,"PHOTO_NAME"))) > 0 or
instr(upper("DESCRIPTION"),upper(nvl(:P1_REPORT_SEARCH,"DESCRIPTION"))) > 0 or
instr(upper("MIME_TYPE"),upper(nvl(:P1_REPORT_SEARCH,"MIME_TYPE"))) > 0
I would like to have a fixed grid of image 6 col * 2 row: that's quite easy however what doesn't work is nvl(PHOTO_CATALOG_ID,0): i got a missing image, but image with photo_catalog_id=0 isn't taken at all.
For image =0 i've uploaded a white image.
Anywhere if someone has another solution / idea for making a thumbnail like app in apex, wasn't bad to hear...
However: i don't want a report with an image col. I want different image (let's say that i would like to have the grid 6col * 2 row) with pagination style.
Each image should stay in a row of image table.
Thanks a lot

Guys,
i haven't seen there was album v2 on application express studio: maybe this is what i am looking for.
bye

  • SSRS reporting with sharepoint list using Distinct and Multivalue parameters

i want create ssrs report with sharepoint list using ms-vs(2008). i want create Distinct multivalue parameters by using CAML query. There is any way we put CAML query where we use Distinct keyword and IN clause in CAML query... i hope all experts will
understand my poor English... sorry for poor English.. plz help me

    Hi AsifMehmood,
Per my understanding you have create an SSRS report with SharePoint list, now you don’t know to create the distinct parameters by using CAML query,  right?
For the CAML language doesn’t have any reserved word (or tag) to set this particular filter to remove duplicate results, but we can use the custom code to do this function. I have tested on my local environment and we can do that by create one hidden parameter(Param1)
to get all the values from the fields which will  add the filter and then create another parameter(Param2) to get the distinct values based on the Param1, we use the custom code to do the deduplication.
Step by Steps information in below thread for your reference to create the parameters and the custom code:

Other similar thread for your reference:

If your problem still exists, please feel free to ask and also try to provide us more details information.

  • Crystal Reports with BEx Query using Custom Exit Variable

    Hi,
We have BW BEx Query using Customer User Exit variable to derive  the Fiscal Week for Last Year (called it VAR2) based on another user input variable Current Fiscal Week (called it VAR1).
VAR2 is derived from VAR1 in CMOD via some codings and thus it DOES NOT have the "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx. VAR1 is user input variable, so it has "Variable is Ready for Input" flag ticked in the BEx.
When we create a Crystal Reports with the BEx Query using variable VAR2, and when we run it we got an error message saying "Failed to execute query; '[]<java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No Selection State Support!ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK>'. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem".  (note: ZP_MI_LYPUBWEEK is VAR2 in this case).
Could anyone please assist? Surely, CR supports BEx customer user exit variables like the above, right?. I also refer to the forum below as it seems to have a similar issue (except mine with an error message), but it does not provide a solution in it.

    Hi Vibhav,
We have the SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise XI4.0 Version 14.0.0. Not sure if SP0 or other SP, got to check with Basis Team later.
We tried that "mandatory" option and did not work either.
Anyway, SAP has now come back again saying it is something they will fix it in next release/version. We got a phone call from them and a reply below to our OSS.

  • HTML Report with images in LabVIEW 6.1

I am generating an HTML report in LabVIEW 6.1 with an image. When I
save the html file to disk, two files are saved, the report and the
image. The report has the name I specified but the image does not.
It is not readily apparent that the two are related. As a result,
when I try and e-mail or move the report, the image gets left behind.
Is there a way to embed the image file in the report? Or what is the
best way to associate these two files so they can be e-mailed
    together?
    Tim Erickson
    Signature Control Systems

    Tim,
Unfortunately, HTML does not include images.
A suggestion would be to create a GIF image, or to put everything in a zip file, or something to that effect.
I had to work with HTML documentation for LabVIEW, and actually used LabVIEW to substitute the images for control types with words, such that images were not required. You can try this if your images are nothing more than representations for which text can be substituted.
Alternatively, if your image is something like a graph, or the front panel, I might suggest creating a .gif or .jpg image out of it. This has to be done manually, but will make the page one single file.
Good luck, I hope that helps.

  • Receiving Error when running Crystal reports with Images in WebSphere 6.1

I am designing a report with a sub report that displays images via (BLOBS). The images are between 10-20 kb in size and there could be up to 200 images in the report.
There are no problems when I run the report using Java 1.5 with Tomcat 5.5 server and JDBC connection (using ojdbc14.jar) to an Oracle 10g database.
It seems that if I attempt to run the same report on a WebSphere 6.1 environment, the below error is encountered (stack trace is below)
    I am using Crystal 2008 (ver 12.0.0.683).
Based on the stack trace, I think it is either an IBM JDK  javax.* package compatibility issue or the current version of Crystal reports (no service packs installed - current client environment) has a known issue with Websphere.
I searched the forums for any similiar issues but could not find one.
Could installing Service pack 3 solve this issue or is there another possibility?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thank you for your reply.
The answer to your question concerning if Websphere is a clean install is no.  The client has other applications running on that server.  We do not have access to that server other than the log files and I requested information as to what other applications are on the server.
We did try adding a known working version of the IIOMetadata class in the ear file and deploying it in the hopes that  class will be loaded before using any other version.  Unfortunately, we receive the posted errors.  Which may mean that a different version of the class has already been loaded in memory and that is the one being accessed.  A request would have to be made to the client for a shutdown and restart of Websphere in determining if that may be the case.  Since there are other applications running, coordination and communication to the other application owner will need to be done first.
Any additional ideas will be appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Tony.

  • Interactive report with images

    I looked at this link
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:1
I see that there are images in the report with a little link to download to excel at the bottom. What does the image look like when downloaded to excel?
Also is there a way to have an image in an interactive report but not have it download to excel, pdf, or word? I want to rest of the IR columns to be downloadable, just not the image.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,
If you tried the download link you would have seen that the images are not downloaded in Excel. That's because the download is a separate procedure that is called using the link.
When you look at [this page|http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:108] you can see how Denes does that...

  • APEX 5.0. Report with image stored in a BLOB gives ORA-06502.

    Hi,
I want to create an Interactive Report - Desktop with an image in which is stored in a BLOB but it returnes a: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error.
I have created a test report with only the image (billed - which is a BLOB) and an ID (the PK  - a number from a sequence)
    select ID, billed from foto
I have tried with and without a formatmask for the ID '999999999999999' and the Type as Plain text as there seems not to be a better choice..
For the 'billed' Type is 'Display Image' and the 'Table Name' and 'BLOB Column' are set. 'Primary Key Column 1' is set to ID. 'Mime Type Colomn' points to a field that contains 'image/jpeg' as the stored image is a photo in jpg.
The image displays OK from a Forms application.
DB is a 11.2.0.4 on Linux 6.6 and APEX is 5.0
    What have I missed?

  • Calling report with parameter form using frmrwinteg

    Hi,
I am calling a report with a parameter screen from a form and am using the frmrwinteg bean. This works fine on our test application server but, when moved onto our production application server, the database logon screen is presented after pressing the submit button on the parameter screen. The cause of the problem seems to be the html generated to simulate the parameter screen. The html on the test application server contains a BASE tag in the HEAD section with an href starting "http:/servername.companyname.com". However, the same tag in the html generated on the production application server is missing the ".companyname.com", causing the cookie produced by the frmrwinteg bean to not be found. Does anyone know how the BASE href tag is generated and what I need to change to get the correct BASE href value? I am using Forms/Reports 10g R2 and Application Server 10.1.2.

  • Create Report with Image on the backside of first page

    Hi there,
I want to create a report with a header-section (including data and a barcode) and some data in the main section. The main section is diffing in length so that the report might be just one page or 4-5 pages or even more.
In addition I want to print an image on the backside of the first page.
The image exists in TIFF-Format and it should be printed in landscape, while the report itself is inmPortarit-Mode.
The report(s) should be printed automatically (without user-interaction).
    Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem with my Crystal reports and its display in the info view. If the reports include images from the repository, the reports aren't displayed when hit in the BO-InfoView.
This errors does not occur if there are just images in the report. Only the combination of images, embedded XCelsius-SWFs and data from the defined data sources causes the problem.
Instead of the correct report, I get a white blank screen.

  • Issues with Images when used w/ Caption Widget & Book File Size Q

    Hi Everyone,
I was having issues with images not showing up and determined it was the caption widget causing the issue. I now have one of two issues happening consistently. Either the image does not show at all or just the caption box with bkgd gray and caption text shows, but without the image.
    Anyone else have this issue?
Ay ideas would be greatly appreciated. I wasw just about finished with this project when this started!
Also, the size of the book is considerably larger than I realized. It is 81 mb. . . How does this compare to any of your books?
    THANKS SO MUCH!
    Belinda

    Belinda,
I can't speak to your main issue, as I cannot recreate the problem over here.
As a guess, have you checked to make sure you're not running out of harddrive space? iBA can consume space quickly, and behaves oddly when it begins to run out of room.
But as far as filesize goes, I can only wish for an 81 MB book. Mine is currently a little over 2 GB and growing. Tonight I had to split it into 2 volumes just so iBooks Author can run at a reasonable pace. I was getting tired of waiting 1-2 minutes after dragging a video around on the page before I could get control of the program again.
You should note that Apple is expecting large filesizes for this new Multi-Touch format. The docs on iTunesConnect say the largest allowed upload size for a book is 16GB 2BG (see link below)

  • Need help with Image refreshing using the 1408

I'm trying to develop a VI that allows user control over the image refreshing. In the end I would like something that allows the user to view a live or somewhat close to live image from the camera, and then when they desire freeze the image. The catch is I would also like the images to be color, and to allow the user to again view a live image if they wish.
Essentially I want the user to be able to focus the camera and set light levels while viewing a live image on the screen (again flicker is ok, just as long as it has a decent refresh rate). And then when ready freeze the image and use the last image captured (the frozen one) for some analysis purposes.

The simplest way to do this is to put the IMAQ Snap vi inside a while loop. Initialize your image and IMAQ outside the loop. Create an "Acquire" boolean control on your front panel. Put the Snap & display inside a case statement so that it only acquires a new image if the Acquire button is in the "On" position. This will give you a pretty smooth update rate and is very easy to program.
If you want an update rate closer to the frame rate of the camera, you can set up an IMAQ Grab outside the loop, then read the latest image and display it in the case statement.

  • Reporting with images/ access-permission issue

    Hi All,
We created a Crystal Report that contains images for each row. And the report goes to shared folder location to find the related images for each row.
We are trying to set the permissions on this file location and for that we created a user group contains people who is supposed to run this report. However we noticed that when we run the report, report is trying to access to this file location with some other ID (probably a background user) not with the users ID.
Even though my ID is in the security group when I run the report I don't see the images. But I am able to see the images if I preview it directly in the file location.
Now we need to add this background user to the security group to resolve the issue. Does anyone know what this user ID could be?
    I appreciate any help.
    Regards

    Hello,
Now that we know it's a problem with BOE I moved your post to the BOE Admin forum.
The Server are running under the local System Account unless you change it. Go into the CMC and have a look at the Job Server for scheduling or the RAS server for running on Demand reports. You need to give the Local System Account access to where the images are saved as well as the WEB server, which ever one you are using.
Check the WEB server and give it access to the Image Folder as well.
    Thanks again
