Reporting-Keyfigure Properties-Enhance -Aggregation-Exception aggregation T

Hi All,
What is the use of Keyfigure properties-enhance-aggregarion-exception aggregation use in Bex reporting.
I can see values like Exception if more than one record occurs,Exception if only one record occurs,Counting values and so on.
Can any give me clear example please.
if you have any documents please send to [email protected]
Thanks

Hi.
I take it you have read through the SAP Help documents for this? They include examples, generally I find it pretty helpful when you have a question as specific as yours... here's the link for the area you are looking at.

  • KF aggregation/exception aggregation options

    Hi
There is one KF that has defined as
    1)aggregation option SUM ,
    2) Exception aggregation option Last Value
    3) aggregation Ref char 0CALDAY.
4)cumulative value radio button s option is on in Cumulative/Noncumulative values option.
These options can be found in KF declaration in the second Tab.
I understand that from the query point of the KF will display last value/given calday. What is the use of aggregation option SUM (option 1 above)? can you give me one example please.
also one more question what is the use of Ncum Value with Ncum Value change?
    Thanks
    Vennela

    Hi,
Here you have specified that aggregation type should be 'last value' for reference characteristic CALDAY. For all other characteristics, it shoule be SUM. That mean if calday is part of query, then KF will have Last value for CALDAY. If calday is not part of query, then it will be summation.
For ex, lets assume that we have calday, cost center as characteristics and head count as keyfigure. When you have both calday and cost center in your query, then it is going to display last value of KF head count in the result, which is practical.
if you have only cost center in your query, then head count value will be sum for that particular cost center. We might have many sales offices in a cost center, so head count will get aggregated for all sales offices under cost center.
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Exception (Aggregation) in Hierarchy nodes results

    Hi All,
We have a requirement to sum all values (as results in hierarchy levels) based on the value of a specific characteristics. example as below is what we want to achieve. Country, Product group, materials are all characteristics and this is viewed as hierarchy in the query. In each material there is a calculation components that will shown the value of Sales Qty, Price/unit and Amount. What we want is to sum up ONLY the Amount value and presented in the hierarchy nodes so that we can see how much sales we did by product group and subsequently by country as whole. If we drill across we will be able to achieve this but we want to drill down as we have the time characteristics and variances at the columns. and no, we do not want user to drill across the calculation components. This query is used in Integrated Planning for planning purposes integrated with BO and that is the structure of the planning layout we want. "Calculation component" is a infoobject that contains 'sales qty', 'price/unit' and 'sales amount' as master data values.
I have tried exception aggregation on calc component infoobject for 'LAST VALUE'. and it did capture only the Sales Amount value as result for node Calc Components. But the other results node State, country and Region also takes LAST VALUE.. which is not what i want. what i want is esseentially summation of all Sales amount for each calculation components by state, country and region.
                                                       Last Year  |  Variance   | Current Year |   Jan | Feb | Mar |......
Region X                                              200  (sum of all country's sales amount)
->Country A                                          200  (sum of all states' sales amount)
-> State Y1                                          80 (sum of all components's sales amount)
           ->Calc Components Z1                    30
              - Sales Qty                                   10
              - Price/Unit                                     3
              - Sales Amount                             30
          ->Calc Components Z2                    50
              - Sales Qty                                     5
              - Price/Unit                                   10
              - Sales Amount                             50
       -> State Y2                                        120
           ->Calc Components Z1                   40
              - Sales Qty                                   10
              - Price/Unit                                     4
              - Sales Amount                             40
          ->Calc Components Z2                    80
              - Sales Qty                                   10
              - Price/Unit                                     8
              - Sales Amount                             80
    any help would be appreciated...

Please try the below steps and I hope it should work for you.
Instead of calculated keyfigures, try to use local formula .Because i think sometimes CKF will not give the expected result if you use exception aggregation (not sure though, but i used only local formulas)
    1. Create a first local keyfigure (Say F1)for the calculation and use exception aggreagation as 'Average' and reference characteristics as 'PDU'.
    2. Create  a second keyfigure ( Say F2) using the first keyfigure(F1) and use exception aggregation as 'Average' and reference characteristics as 'Sales Document', if you need the values based on average of the sales documents and hide the first keyfigure(F1)
I consider Sales document is the first level and PDU is the second level ( i mean lowest  level) . Because you need to consider these sequencens as well when you design the exception aggregation.
Likewise you can create nested aggregations based on your requirements.
Please do let me know if it works.
    Thanks.

  • Constant Selections and Exception Aggregation

    Hi,
    Can You please tell me
    1) what is constant selections?
    2) what is Exception Aggregations?
    Thanks and Regards.
    Naresh.

    Hi,
example for the use of standard aggregation and exception aggregation for a key figure is a key figure for the non-cumulative value
with non-cumulative values such as warehouse stock, you want to total up the warehouse stock for various articles and warehouses (standard aggregation), but for the month you want to determine the ending inventory (LAST aggregation) (exception aggregation in regard to the time characteristic Calendar Month)

  • How to find the list of Queries/Reports which are using Exceptional Aggregation in SAP BI?

    Hi All,
We are interested to know how to find the list of Queries/ Reports which are using Exceptional aggregation in SAP BI.
Please let us know is there any table's to check the list of reports using Exceptional Aggregation in SAP BI.

    Hi,
    Here you go..
    1) Go to table RSZCALC and get list of ELTUID where AGGREXC is not INITIAL and AGGRCHA is not initial; now you get only exception aggregation set based on some chars. Also you can further add STEPNR = 1 since your intention is just to get query name , not the calculation details; this will reduce number of entries to lookup and save DB time for next steps.
Here you will get list of exception aggregation UUID numbers from which you can get properties from RSZELTDIR.
    2) Pass list of RSZCALC-ELTUID to table RSZELTXREF - TELTUID and get list of RSZELTXREF -SELTUID - this table stores query to it's elements maping kind.
    3) Now again pass RSZELTXREF - SELTUID into same table but into different field RSZELTZREF - TELTUID and get RSZELTXREF - SELTUID
This step you get query reference sheet or column or query general UUID for next step.
    4) Pass list of RSZELTXREF - SELTUID into RSZELTDIR - ELTUID with DEFTP as 'REP'. Now you get list of query names in RSZELTDIR - MAPNAME and description in TXTLG.
Note: you can also get the reference chars used for exception aggregation from RSZCALC - AGGRCHA field.
    Hope this helps.
Please keep in mind, it might take more time depends on how many query elements you have in the system...

  • Difference between exception aggregation in keyfigure

    Hi
what is the difference between exception aggregation in key fig properties in modelling and key fig properties in query

    Hi Promod,
Exception aggregation in key fig properties is GLOBAL (it will affects all queries, where ever used these key figures),because ur defining at Info object level.
Key fig properties in query is LOCAL (it will affect only for that particular Query) ,because ur defining at query level.
    hope it helps.....

  • Problem with exception aggregation

    Hi forums,
Can any one help in this issue?
We checked the data in the ECOM cube for the order 63349312 where it is giving 6 records eventhough we are deleting the adjacent duplicates of the order number in the start routine. (Is it like the deletion of adjacent duplicates happen in data packet level instead of happening in the entire cube level? B'cos the same order might present in the different packets.)
Hence the data is aggregating for the key figure, 'Number of Days' in the ECOM report. But if we check the keyfigure properties in the RSA1, there we selected the Exception Aggregation as 'First Value' and aggregation reference char as 'ZN_CORD' (Order number). Still it is aggregating the number of days value in the report.
    Regards,
    Charan.

    Hi Rohit,
We are doing same procedure as you mentioned. We assigned order number as refer characteristic to keyfigure No. of days in infi object level. But this operation is not working in report level
          Order number     ZCUDATE                  ZN_GSTRP            ZN_CORDKF     ZN_DAYSKF
            63349312     18.01.2009     01.10.2008     1,000     109

            63349312     18.01.2009     01.10.2008     1,000     109
    I want o/p as

            63349312     18.01.2009     01.10.2008     1,000     109

  • Exceptional Aggregation Option at Query Level in BW 3.5 Query Designer

    Hi all,
I want to use Exceptional aggregation with reference char 0CALDAY,on Formula keyfigure in the Query designer(BW3.5).
But I am not getting that option when I went into Properties of that Keyfigure. So please Suggest  me where I will Find that Exceptional Aggregation option & Ref.Char at the Query level.
    Thanks,
    Kiran Manyam

    Hi
In the Key Figure Properties dialog box, choose Enhance >>. The Aggregation Behavior field is added to the dialog box.
You can make settings for the aggregation of the calculated key figure and the time that the calculated key figure is calculated here. Depending on the complexity of the formula, you can select various settings in the enhanced properties of the calculated key figure. The following types of calculated key figures with the corresponding formula complexity are available:

  • BI 70 upgrade question - Exception Aggregation

    Hi ,
In our upgrade test system we are getting exception aggregation warning "Brain 447 - Time of calculation 'Before Aggregation' is obsolete" .
I know the location where we can change the option (  under "Enhnaced Properties" of the Calculated key figure ) from " Before Aggregation" to "After Aggregation" .
Issue : The warning does not indicate which calculated key figure the setting has to be changed especially if it is used in multiple structures
    Question :
    1) Do we have to change this manually for each calculated key figure we get a warning ?
    2) Does anyone know the BW table which stores the "Enhanced properties" for the "Calculated key figure"  OR report which shows the enhanced properties settings. I know the other "RSZ* tables etc ..but could not find the settings for the enhanced properties.
    Thanks in advance .

You can check the RSZCOMPDIR table to see if you can get this information - this table has details of all the query elements...

  • 'Average Weighted with Calendar Days' in Exception Aggregation

    Dear specialists,
I have created a query with a lot of calculated keyfigures.
One of my calculated keyfigures shows percentage values.
When I select a calendar day, my report shows correct results
    for the percentage values.
But when I execute the report without selecting a calendar day,
    I get strange results like 3,21 % instead of 97,49 %.
There is a new functionality with version 7.0, where we can set
Aggregation properties like 'Average Weighted with Calendar Days' .
But when I select this with Ref. characteristic 'calendar day',
my report does not show any value or any result.
Are there any other properties to set in Aggregation or Calculations.
Please give me more information about this issue
    regards Osman Akuzun

    Hi,
When you define an Exception aggregation on number of work days. There might be some reference characteristic defined in your Bex.
For exmaple, take a scenario like below. Your BW data is like below
    0Employee           StockIssued
    XXX                            50
    XXX                            10
    YYY                           20
    YYY                            30
    YYY                            40
    ZZZ                            50
    ZZZ                            100
    ZZZ                            30
Suppose the first row which has values like XXX and 50 is not a working day and remaining all are working days then the exception aggregation applied using AV2 on the characteristic  0Employee will be caluclated in your Report as below
For XXX, it will       10/1 = 10 (because only 1 working day for the employee XXX)
For YYY, it will       90/3 = 30 (because all  3  are working days for the employee YYY)
For ZZZ, it will       180/3 = 60 (because  all  3  are working days for the employee ZZZ)
This is how the exception aggregation works. Try to see the similar kind of example in your system and try to relate in the same lines explained by me. You can understand.
    Regards
    Sunil

  • Exception Aggregation on a Formula Variable?

I need to create an exception aggregation on a formula variable, but the properties dialog box of the calculated key figure doesn't have the options of exception aggregation.
Only field available is "Time of aggregation" and I don't want to use that because (1) it is not working properly and (2) it is obsolete functionality.
Do you know how I can obtain exception aggregation on a CKF containing a formula variable?
Thank you very much for your time.

I believe you are using 3.x.
Please mention the version of BW in the problem statement.
If you dont want to use exception aggregation in the query the second option is setting this property in the backend for the keyfigure. But I believe that you are trying to set this for the CKF, so I dont see any other option to generate exception aggregation.
I would like to comment on your reasons why you dont wnat to usee the exception aggregation.
    1. It is not working: If it not working, you should contact SAP for this. Exception aggregation is 20% heart of any query and it is very rarely used things in reporting.
    2. It is obsolete: I am not sure, if this is correct. There are many industries where you cannot built certain reports without exception aggregation. The simplest report of sales where you are asked to find the rate of the material from Total Sale and Quantity at aggregation level can not be created without exception aggregation. So this option is and will never obsolete.
    Please try using before aggregation.

  • Exception aggregation of row count

    Hi Experts,
I have Value of Purchase Order Report in which i have display the Number of PO, Number of PO items and netpovalue.
For calculating the Number of PO and PO items i am using a record counter keyfigure (0rowcnt) aggregated at po number and  po item ref.charateristic.
For PO item i am getting the accurate results but for PO number i am not.
    example :-
pur-org       Number of PO   PO-item  Netpovalue
    xxx            5                     10               yyyy
    but it is showing :-
pur-org       Number of PO   PO-item  Netpovalue
    xxx            10                    10               yyyy
Please suggest how to get exact PO value.
    Regards,
    HR

In yr case Number of PO is the counter field, so create a Key figure for counter and use the following aggregation option :
    Aggregation : SUM
Exception Aggregat. : Counter (Values Unequal to Zero )
    Agg.referen.char. : 0CALDAY

  • How to determine the "Last Value" in exception aggregation

    Hi gurus,
I have a KeyFigure with an exception aggregation -Last value- by time.
I report on a multiprovider ("containing" a infocube and a realtime infocube with BPS-InputLayout). I can correct separate Items with this BPS-Layout. So, at the end I have 2 values for one item.
So, by these facts, my report shows the the last value for the specific KeyFigure, but I expected that both values (the value in the infocube and the correction via BPS)are sumed up.
As this is due to the exception aggregation not the case, I could "overwrite" the normal value in the infocube with the BPS.
But SAP determines the normal value in the Infocube as "Last Value", not the one in the correction cube, which is entered via BPS.
How does SAP determine the "last value" as I can´t see any date...
    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you for your answer...
I got the soltion by myself.
I thought, Last Value means the last Value, depending on the time, but in my opinion the function last value should be called "Greatest Value".
All figures with the same value for the reference characteristc are aggregated anyway.

  • Regarding exception aggregation based on 2 infobjects

    Hi All,
I have a report in which I have to use Exception aggregation based on two Infoobjects.
How we can do it ?
I have tried using nested aggregation but its not working.
    Example:
    I have three Infoobject :
    0Material
    0Sold_To
ZSalesRep (Sales representative of Sold to)
    In Report:
Rows section, I will have only ZSalesRep Infoobject.
Column Section (i.e. the Keyfigures) I will have one keyfigure which should be calculated based on 0Sold_to and 0Material.
    Any inputs will be helpful.
    Thank you.
    Vamsi.

    Hi,
I think exception aggregation should work in your scenario, first you get the total with reference to material and then put that key figure in reference to sold to party.
Just check the below article for more information,
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d08b56a8-daf5-2e10-2397-904d6aeb55c2?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]

  • Exception Aggregation in BPS Layout

    Hi
I am not able to get the exception aggregation settings of Key Figure in BPS layout. Below is summary of my problem.
BW Headcount cube is loaded every week and headcount keyfigure is having exception aggregation to pick up the latest value in the BEx reports. But when I use this keyfigure to get monthly headcount in BPS layout, I am getting wrong headcount number as it is aggregating the headcount values for all the loads of data in the month.
Lets say we have 5 loads in the month, the headcount of the particular employee is being shown as  5 instead of 1.
Please let me know how can I get latest headcount value in Layout instead of aggregated value.
    Thanks,
    Raj.

    Hi Raj,
Yes - the exception aggregation will not work in the BPS. If I remember it correctly you can write the data to an ODS that does an "overwrite" (before and after image) and then load into the BPS InfoCube. Thus you will get only one record at a time (for a given char./key figure combination) and you do not need the exception aggregation.

    Gerd Schoeffl
