Reporting-Link Command

I have a report that uses the following command to select descendants of 2 members: <LINK ((<descendants (membername)) OR (<descendants (membername))) This command works fine when running the report manually in application manager. However, I get an "Invalid Member" error when running in batch mode (ESSCMD). Anyone know of a reason why?

command is:<LINK ((<descendants (ICREC)) OR (<descendants (ICINV)))

  • LINK command in a Report Script 9.3.3

    Hello,
    I would be greatful if someone could help me with one line in a Report Script.  I do not know what I am doing.  We currently have the line below, which has worked well for years.
    <LINK (<LEV("Account",0) AND NOT <DESCENDANTS("Statistical_Accounts"))
    There are three accounts within Statistical_Accounts we want to add back.  Let's call them StatAcct1, StatAcct2 StatAcct3.
    How do I include them?
    At the top level, we have Account.  At the second level, we have "GL Accounts" and Statistical_Accounts.  I have fooled around with a number of things.  I get compile errors telling me everything I do is invalid.
    Please somebody, rewrite this one line for me.  Am I begging?
    Thank you, Kevin

    Hello Glenn,
    I took your idea in various forms, and tried the following, but each ones fails depending on where I place the bracket.  I either fail with the OR or the LINK.  I tried using DESCENDANT for each item in the list, and that was not successful.  Can you spot the correction for any of the statements below?
    <LINK (<LEV("Account",0) AND NOT <DESCENDANTS("Statistical_Accounts")) OR ( "AdminFee_Calculated" "Overhead_Calculated" "AdminFee_Input")
    Error: 1001005 Unknown Member [OR] in Report
    <LINK (<LEV("Account",0) AND NOT <DESCENDANTS("Statistical_Accounts") OR  ("AdminFee_Calculated" "Overhead_Calculated" "AdminFee_Input"))
    Error: 1001072 Syntax error in <LINK Command
    <LINK (<LEV("Account",0) AND NOT <DESCENDANTS("Statistical_Accounts")) OR  "AdminFee_Calculated" OR "Overhead_Calculated" OR "AdminFee_Input"
    Error: 1001005 Unknown Member [OR] in Report
    <LINK (<LEV("Account",0) AND NOT <DESCENDANTS("Statistical_Accounts") OR  "AdminFee_Calculated" OR "Overhead_Calculated" OR "AdminFee_Input")

  • How to print pdf file in SQL Server Reporting services report using command prompt?

    Is there a way to automatically print a SQL Server Reporting services report on command prompt? For eg: We can save a pdf file using rs.exe utility. I want to print a pdf using rs.exe utility. Is it possible? I don't want to install any 3rd party software.

    Thanks Simon for replying to my question.
    In oracle form, there is oracle command to print the report from command prompt with the help of rwrun.exe
    e.g: rwrun.exe   REPORT="D:\Test\REP_25\MLA.REP" DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER" P_FORMNAME="MLA.FMX" P_SPRACHE="E" P_SPRACHE_NR2="1" P_WHERE_BEDINGUNG="order by land_nr" USERID="test/test.world" PSV_NAME="PSV_DEMO" PSV_JOB_ID="PS$9583" RECURSIVE_LOAD="NO"
    BATCH="YES" NONBLOCKSQL="NO" ARRAYSIZE="1" PARAMFORM="NO" ERRFILE="c:\temp\psv16.tmp"<
    and to save the report we just need to change DESNAME="c:\temp\OC_100001349.pdf" DESTYPE="FILE" in above command instead of DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER".
    DESNAME and DESTYPE are the input parameters of the respective report.
    In SSRS, we can run the file from the command prompt and save it.
    rs -i "C:\Users\pujarswa\Documents\reports\new\LoadReport.rss" -s ww2004760:80/ReportServer_MSSQL -v fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"
    -v reportPath="/TipsReport/LoadListTabular" -t -v format="PDF" -v LandNr=4 -u ap\swati -p test@# -e Exec2005
    But we cannot use same command for printing as you said we need to create another script for printing files.
    I have gone through the links but I dont want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader exe for printing because client it may not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on their machine.
    Also I want to pass a input parameter as type="Printer" to my report which will print directly for me and same I can acheive in command prompt passing type="Printer" fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"

  • How to run a 10g report from command line ?

    Good Afternoon,
    Please advise if there is a way to run a 10g report from command line.
    We use 6i right now and our job scheduler runs reports using "D:\ORADEV6I\BIN\RWRUN60.EXE ..." executable in batch mode on a separate server. We plan to migrate to 10g Database, Forms, Reports. Is there a way to keep this functionality and create a "command" to address an report server and run a report?
    Thank you,
    Dmitri

    Steps to take.
    (1.) In command prompt type RWSERVER SERVER=repserver1 to star the rep server.
    (2.) If you get "Javaw.exe The procedure entry point psoasyn could not be located in the dynamic link library orapls10.dll." error do one of the following
            (a.) Type the full name for the server. D:\OracleDevR2\bin\rwserver SERVER=repserver1
                   or, if it does not work
            (b.) Add D:\OracleDevR2\bin to the system env. variable PATH
    (3.) Start OC4j
    (4.) Now you can access the jobs using URL like:
        http://192.161.11.143:8890/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=repserver1
          where 192.161.11.143 is your machine's IP address.

  • Report script command equivalent for @relative calculation command

    HI ,
    We have a calculation script which has a fix statement like below :
         FIX( Grade, "w/o LO", "Line Options", AtLaunch, @DESCENDANTS("470.92"), @DESCENDANTS("Price Item"), @RELATIVE("Total Region", 0) )
    We are trying to make a reportscript which gives us the format of the set of database being calculated.
    So we are tranforming the above calc script commands into equivalent report script commands. We are struck with the @Relative command.
    Can somebody tell us what is the equivalent report script command for @Relative calculation script function.
    Regards
    OKU

    There's no direct analogue, but you can use the <LINK command along with <DESCENDANTS and <LEV to get pretty close. See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_techref/rwriter/link.htm
    JExport (if pre 9.3) or DATAEXPORT (if 9.3 or greater) may also be options and will in fact allow @RELATIVE to be used.

  • Report script command to get all Level 0 members of a given member

    Hi,
    Is there any Report script command to get all Level 0 members of a given member (Parent)? (very similar to @RELATIVE (mbrName, 0) in Calc Scripts).
    <DIMBOTTOM gives all the level 0 members in the dimension.
    There is a command called
    <LEAVES mbrName
    This works only for ASO.
    Is there anything similar for BSO?
    Appreciate your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Ethan.

    from my blog on report scripts at
    http://glennschwartzbergs-essbase-blog.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
    Third, there is a command to stay away from, its DimBottom. [edited] Like @CURRMBR in calc scripts, DimBottom is one of those commands that is very slow. If you use Query designer to create a report, it uses a better way. It uses the link command. In sample.basic to get all level 0 products it uses
    <Link ((<LEV("Product", 0)) AND ( <DESC("Product")))

  • Unmatched parenthsis in LINK Command

    When we are accessing our cube using a reporting tool called ArcPlan we are receiving a message "Unmatched Parenthesis in [LINK] Command in Report" . What could be the issue with essbase ?

    Depends which version of Essbase you are running. I remember in one ver it needed an extra paranthesis. Recently, after upgrading to 6.5.3, we encountered the same error eventhough the syntax was correct. The issue was with the higher Data Cache size in the DB settings.Hope this leads you to resolve your issue.MGhori

    <i>True, the application property service is apparently not to be used for a real-life scenario</i>
    You can definitely use the application property service in production scenarios - it's used by other components in a standard KM install, i.e. out-of-the-box.
    <i>in our case it forced the server down with deadlocks. </i>
    This should definitely not happen! Did you get SAP support to take a look at this? Was it the most popular documents report that caused this, or some other custom code? There should be no such problem with this service, since it's been around for quite some time and in production use.
    <i>
    Even if the code sample is not to be used for real-life scenarios it could at least make use of something else than the application property service which isnt't optimal for this use.
    </i>
    The application property service is good for a lot of scenarios, so it is realistic to use in in real-life scenarios. The only time I have seen this approach (storing the number of hits on documents in the database) fail is in very high-load scenarios.
    <i>Could you provide me with a link to the documentation for the logging framework?</i>

  • JRC bug: apostrophe in string parameter passed to Crystal Report with Command datasource to SQL Server

    Post Author: nl11087
    CA Forum: JAVA
    A single quote/apostrophe in string parameter passed to a Crystal Report with Command datasource connecting to a SQL Server database, using sqljdbc driver does not escape the special character correctly. When doing a preview in the Crystal Reports IDE it allows you to escape the input parameter as expected and work correctly, but through the JRC component it fails. For string parameters without special sql server characters I experience no problems at all. When replacing the Command with a direct table there is also no problem.
    Reproduction:
    1. create a database db1, create a table table1 with a String type column col1.
    2. Create new report Report1.rpt, create a connection to above, Add Command using 'SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM table1 WHERE col1 = '{?Par1}' . Add a parameter field Par1 : String
    3. In your java stand alone application using JRC add the parameter Par1 with a value "Jon Doe's Value" containing a single apostrophe. Export to PDF. (I also tried MSWord and this failed too, similar behavior). Additionally, in another test try to replaceAll("'","''") to escape it, preventing the code to break, but now it does not retrieve the expected row anymore and you end up with an empty report.

  • How to open reports in same portlet when clicked on item report links in menu portlet

    Hi,
    I am not sure what forum I should ask this question. Anyway, I am trying in the content areas forum.
    Let me explain what I trying to do.
    I have reports links as menu item links in a menu. I have published this menu to portal and added it to a page. I can now see the report links. If I now click on the report link, it opens the report in a whole window. How do I open the report in the same portlet or if this is not possible, how do I open this in a different portlet on the same page ?
    thanks for helping.
    Mainak

    Hi,
    This is part of JPDK. You will have to install it. Which version of portal are you using? You can also try this out using
    URL portlet which is available with webview in 309.
    Thanks,

    How could i pass multiple values for the parameters?

    Any one please reply me. Its very urgent.

    Hi,
    How could i pass multiple values for the parameters? You should be able to use a comma separated list e.g.
    /parameter "Observation Name" "'Abdominal Girth','Abdominal Girth2'"
    How to skip optional parameters?I don't think you can. You have to supply all parameters and then decode out the parameters you don't need in the workbook.
    how to pass the data ranges You cannot pass a date range. You can pass a start and end parameters. The default format for the date parameters is DD-MON-YYYY but this can change depending on the NLS settings and format of the data item.

  • Report Link + Authorization Scheme

    I have an authorization scheme that checks whether a certain person has privileges to edit a record on Page 2 by referring to the :P2_ID in the authorization scheme. Page 1 has a report with a report link, but the user can see both items they are able to edit and items they are not. I know I can make the link dynamically in the sql but wanted to see if there was an easy way to use an authorization scheme, but pass the #REPORT_COL# value in the report over to an authorization scheme to show or hide the icon for me so I can get the link out of the sql.

    Great example Scott! However, I'd would caution the other Sc0tt that calling functions in a SQL statement is fine for a small number of rows, but can CRUSH performance for medium to large result sets. Even if the function is fast, you're still context-switching between SQL and PL/SQL for every row. Make sure you test this with the volume of data you expect your users to encounter. If it's a problem, you might force the user to apply some filters before running the query.
    If you're running 11g you can at least minimize the hit of the function with "Function Result Cache". Even if you're not on 11g yet, you can use the following code in 10g and it will switch-on result cache when you compile it in 11g:
    create or replace function auth_user(p_key in number)
         return varchar2
         $IF not dbms_db_version.ver_le_10_2 $THEN
              result_cache
         $END
    as
    begin
        pkg.g_value := p_key;
        if apex_application.public_security_check (p_security_scheme => 'AUTH_USER_COLUMN') then
            return '1';
        else
            return '0';
        end if;
    end;
    / If it is a reasonable result set, Scott's solution is perfect.
    Thanks,
    Tyler
