Those classes, as you saw, are new to Web Services ReportEngine API with Service Pack 2.
Unfortunately, the on-line documentation is currently based on CHF15, and is yet to be updated for Service Pack 2.
I've heard it should be updated in a few days.
Thank you for your patience.Â

  • Availability of new J2EE 1.4 SDK

    I am pleased to announce availability of new J2EE 1.4 SDK. You can download this today from http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download.html
    J2EE SDK now includes App Server Platform Edition 8.2 (SJSAS PE 8.2) delivering a rich application deployment environment that is highly available and scalable. It dramatically lowers total cost of ownership proven by the latest SPECjAppServer2004 benchmarks on Sun T2000 CoolThread Server ($86/JOPS for application tier running on SJSAS PE 8.2, Solaris 10, and MySQL5.) The new release greatly improves Web Services performance by a factor of 2 to 4 through the inclusion of FastInfoset and support for latest technologies such as AJAX clients and Java database, based on the Apache Derby to decrease the development cycle time of Web 2.0 interactive applications and maximize developer productivity.
    The Sun Java System Application Server PE 8.2 is fully integrated with NetBeans 5 by providing an out of the box environment for development, deployment and debugging of Web and enterprise applications and extends its advocacy for open source by supporting RedHat Linux 4, MySQL 5 and Apache Derby.
    Below are highlights of Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.2
    * J2EE 1.4 compatible
    * Outstanding developer experience with NetBeans 5 and improved deployment speed, runtime footprint and server start up time. NetBeans 5.0 includes App Server 8.2 as a default J2EE runtime.
    * Superior throughput performance and better scalability supporting multi core/ multi threaded architecture.
    * Fast Infoset support improves webservices performance multiple folds.
    * App Server 8.2 bundles deployment ready Derby database making it possible to develop and deploy end to end J2EE application.
    * App Server 8.2 adds support for Red Hat 4 and My SQL 5.
    * In built JMS resource adapter makes connectivity with backend systems even more easier. Application Server 8.2 adds out of box connectivity for IBM MQ Series and Sun's MQ Server.
    * Enhanced J2EE 1.4 blueprints including demonstration of using Web 2.0 technologies like AJAX with App Server 8.2
    * JavaServer Faces Support: Developers can quickly build web applications by: assembling reusable UI components in a page; connecting these components to a data source; and wiring client-generated events to server-side event handlers.
    * Improved Administration Console:
    App Server 8.x admin console adds new look and feel with capabilities like JNDI namespace browser, JDBC Connection Validation, Deployment Descriptor Viewer, Error log viewer and improved monitoring.
    * Web Services Security: Container message security mechanisms implementing message-level authentication (e.g. XML digital signature and encryption) of SOAP web services invocations using the X509 and username/password profiles of the OASIS WS-Security standard.
    * JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library 1.1 Support: the library encapsulates core functionality common to many JSP applications.
    * Bundled J2SE 5.0_06
    Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition is free for development and deployment. Sun support is offered at an additional cost.

    I couldn't get SAS8 to install using JRE 5. I have, however, succeeded in getting an application client to run with the latest JDK. If the client and server JRE differ, you've got to assign a serialVersionUID to any custom classes that will be passed back and forth.

  • Upgrade XIR2 SP2 to XIR3

    Hi,
    we are planning an upgrade from XIR2 Sp2 to XIR3 SP3. I've read the upgrade guide which suggests that you can perform a direct upgrade on XIR2 in situ, but I've seen a number of posts where people are saying that you need to perform a clean installation of R3 and migrate all content across..The later was the approach I had planned on.
    Thanks in advance.
    Paul.

    Hi Paul,
    In my humble opinion, whenever you perform a major upgrade, you should always create a brand new instance of the system database (a.k.a. CMS database) for the new installation. After the installation is completed, you can migrate the contents over using Import Wizard. I don't trust BIAR files because they are not reliable....got burned way too many times.
    As far as security, XI 3.1 is different from XI R2, especially on inheritance. The best practice is to rebuild security from the ground up in XI 3.1. I have done that myself and it is not that hard (even though we have 20,000+ users in the system). I have written a blog on upgrade and you can find it on http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/19997. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    By the way, the current version is not called R3. SAP is trying to avoid any confusion because R3 is also the name of an ERP product. Therefore, the current version of SAP BusinessObjects is simply called XI 3.1.
    Hope this helps.

    I'd have to start out by saying: look in the API under object. readObject() is not an implemented method. Do you have an extension of Object that contains readObject()?

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to use Webservices SDK. The process flow is explained as below:-
    PeopleSoft calls Java component which schedules the BO Reports by calling BO program Objects. I was using BOE SDK before. But SAP advised to move to Webservices SDK as to remove CORBA connection issues.
    Can I use Webservices SDK for scheduling Reports?
    Please update.
    Thanks,

    Its possible to schedule reports from web services SDK. Its stated in the Web services SDK Doc.

  • Zen Micro Photo not working with new XP SP2 install

    Okay so my Zen Micro Photo stopped being recognised on my computer about ten months ago when I upgraded to WMP (for BBC iPlayer - it's compulsory to have it). Anyway I li'ved with this and have now got thoroughly sick of the same songs and nothing new so I have done a fresh install (on a brand new hard dri've) of Windows XP SP2 WMP9 with the sole intention of using this install/hard dri've?for the player. I used the original installation disk and it prompted me to upgrade to WMP0 as I installed everything. There were no errors during the install and I rebooted when prompted to.
    When I attach the player it is recognised by the machine (task bar icon and correctly labelled in System > Hardware > Device Manager which reports it to be?working okay) but the Creative media software says "player not attached" when it is. It is not visible on My Computer as a dri've so I STILL have no access to the player. Player screen reports "docked" with a logo and is flashes a charging icon. Driver v5.2.0.0. The player plays fine but hasn't had new music on in almost a year
    There is nothing else on the XP install (IE6 and everything - argh!) I did the registry permission tweak thing mentioned?here:?http://support.creative.com/kb/showa....aspx?sid=9287?but it didn't do anything.
    Any help greatfully received!

    Hello all,
    Hope all is well. I am kinda stuck here ...trying to retrieve Combined Queries from WebI Document. I just have 1 report , 1 DP, 1 combined query(union) with 2 nodes coming off of universe ( __NO__ Custom SQL).
    Could someone give me sample code as how to retrieve this...I was able get DP and then Query container...then kinda got lost.How do I retrieve individual query and then get more information of an individual query like DataSourceObject.
    QueryContainer qCont = dataProv.getCombinedQueries();
    int operator = qCont ();
    // getQueryContainerOperator
    // then how doi I proceed further to retrieve individual query.

      Expected Results:
       I am using ADOBE AIR 2.0Beta2 version SDK.
    The same application is run in Last SDK i.e AIR 2.0Beta1
      Workaround (if any):
      I am using ADOBE AIR 2.0Beta2 version.
    Can you please help me out...
    Thank you

    My settings with air 3.3:
    <renderMode>gpu</renderMode>
    <aspectRatio>portrait</aspectRatio>
              <autoOrients>false</autoOrients>
            <fullScreen>true</fullScreen>
            <visible>true</visible>
            <softKeyboardBehavior>none</softKeyboardBehavior>
        </initialWindow>
    It only displays a white screen with a small gray square (1/5 of the screen size - top left).
    A scrollbar is visible if you drag the screen and the sound is playing...
    I tried this settings:
    <aspectRatio>portrait</aspectRatio>
            <renderMode>gpu</renderMode>
              <autoOrients>true</autoOrients>
            <fullScreen>true</fullScreen>
            <visible>true</visible>
            <softKeyboardBehavior>none</softKeyboardBehavior>
        </initialWindow>
    It won't work...
    Edit:
    I also tested the new sdk http://www.adobe.com/products/air/sdk/ with gpu mode.
    iPhone works fine but the iPad version always crashes.
    The app opened up but if I try to load a level created with box2d the app always closes (crashs).
    I think that is a gpu ram issue?
    Is this a iPad issue or air?
    Edit 2:
    I changed the creationcomplete event to viewactivate. The transition now looks really worse but the levels are loading.
    I also deleted all the elements before changing the view (removeElement and removeChild).
    The third step I made was to use weak eventListener obj.addEventListener("event, function, false,0,true);
    I think that iOS systems have the problem of less gpu ram than android devices ...

    You may want to swap out OpenJDK for the official version as compatibility isn't always guaranteed - any sort of development would require the "proper" java stack in my opinion.
    Apologies - tomcat does need to be installed separately. It is quite a while since I have had to reinstall netbeans / reconfigure it
    Have you configured tomcat and have it running without error in the background?

  • Extending the UML class diagrams with JDeveloper Extensions SDK?

    Hello,
    I studied the JDeveloper Extension SDK docs, but couldn't figure out how to write extensions that support UML Diagrams.
    What I would like to do, is to pin a different data model under the class diagram view.
    Well if you can't do that. In the worst case, my extension would register with a regular class diagram and listen to its events and and refuse particular changes. It would also create or use an empty class diagram and fill in the classes and associations in it. (this is less clean but I could live with it).
    Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.
    Slawek

    By definition you can change classes through the model so I guess the problem here is that the model cannot apply updates to something that it is pointing to the the compiled version of.
