Reports using JPG and BLOB RenderOp failures

I am getting RenderOp failures using BLOB columns to store JPG images in reports. Reports seems only to work if the data is in TIFF format (massive storage req.) I have converted to LONG RAW to store the JPG images and the same report functions perfectly. I am on 10.1 release 2. and the reports are 10.1.0.2 (I use the designer as well). Is there some special magic to get reports to do as it claims (displays all formats for JPG). I am runnng paper layout only via the rwservlet - this all seems fine. I am using webUtil to replace the old calls (read_image_file). If I convert to TIFF - the 12K images take 500K in the database (but they do work) - if it is JPEG - they cannot be displayed, despite what the documentation says (I will use LONG RAW - but I would rather use the BLOB for support reasons). Anyone know the magic?

Hello,
Check if your JPG images are encoded with the "Progressive Encoding".
This method is not supported by Reports. Test to save your JPG images with the "Standard Encoding".

Project Stock report using QBEW and QBEWH tables

Dear All,
First of all Happy New Year to all of you.
Here is my question: I want to build a ABAP report for stock situation for project stock. The report demands the stock by closing month. Suppose I run the report for month 11/2010, it should show the closing stock at the end of the month 11/2010.
Now I am using the values from table QBEW for this purpose.But QBEW table shows only current entries. If a material stock is changed or value is changed, it goes into history table QBEWH.
Now problem is that if I try to make sum of QBEW and QBEWH, the stock value is excessive. Now I am not sure which entries I should consider from QBEWH table for this purpose.
Has anybody worked on similar requirement?

Stock report using mbew and mbewh

Hi to all.
i want to prepare o report for month end stock.
i am preparing this report using tables mbew and mbewh..
as per my knowledge goes the current stock is in the table mbew and history stock is in the table mbewh.
i am picking up the current data from the mbew and history data from mbewh..
the report is working fine till for january to august..
but i dont know what wrong happen when i run it for the last month of previous year i.e 01/12/2005.
it is showing some data difference for this period and also due to this some difference for earlier periods..
please suggest me what could be the reason..
because i have worked a lot on it and it is also working fine for this year...
also tell me what could be the problem..
i will surely reward back with points..

Standard SAP Reporting Using Classes and Characterstics

Hi Experts,
I am currently interested in if there are any options to using classes and characteristics within standard reporting in SAP ECC. I know some reports have the selection critiera and allow for other fields to be added to reports. Does anyone know the reports that use classes and characteristics or have the ability to use them. Any help is appreciated.

I am not sure of the specifics of your question. The reporting approach depends on the objective of the reports and the business requirements. In general, transaction MC03 can be use to report via classification characteristics. This key figure reporting option covers many classifying attributes.
If you want to report using batch classification and characteristic values, BMBC offers options for reporting on batches. In this case you may use the classification tab of BMBC to enter the batch class for "search with batch class" and/or "search with selection class". The latter allows you to view and/or narrow your search by characteristic values.

Can't use clob and blob

I just created a new database using dbca with General Purpose as the template, as I've done before. All went well until I tried to create tables that used clob or blob datatypes. I kept getting the error "ORA-03001: unimplemented feature".
What happened? Was the database created improperly? Is there a way to correct this without recreating the database?

I have the same problem but only if I assign a tablespace to the table but not if i leave it to the default tablespace.

Report using reuse_alv_block and reuse_alv_hiersql_list

I have a report were in i need to display two reports for branch wise report and for sales employee wise report.The report is accepted for branchwise were i'm using reuse_alv_hiersal_list_display FM.And as per the business scenario i was forced to use reuse_alv_block_list_display FM for sales employeewise report.Both this report are split for branchwise and sales employeewise reports which exit in the single report itself.
Now as per the requirement i'm displaying the two seperate blocks for sales employeewise report.Which has sales employee internal table in one block and its header and inside sales employee wise internal table in second block with its corresponding header.
There is no problem what so ever in the logic and every thing is fine.But as per the user requirement i've been asked to change the looks and make them into single and display the same in the same list.I'll explain the requirement with example...

Generic Extractors for HR Reports using views and Infoset Query

Hi Friends... I am working to come out with the HR reports in BW for the HR reports which are already there in R/3. The HR reports in R/3 are created based on Infoset Query.I could not find any standard business content cubes which can give me these reports.
1)So please can anyone give me step by step approach so to create a generic extractors based on Infoset Query.
2)And also how to populate the data into the fields of the generic extractor which is created by Infoset Query( Please provide any sample ABAP code if available)

Hi Kalyani,
We normally go for View or infoset when the data to be fetched in BW is distributed in different tables in SAP R/3.
Had the data been available in one table we can easily build our datasource on that table but if there are more tables then its not possible to do it without Views or Infosets. You can use Function Modules to build your datasource in case it involves complex logic to figure out the data from various tables.
Depending upon the table relationships we create view and include various fields from these tables in that view. Same is with the Infosets, you can have more flexible options like Outer Join, left outer Join etc.

Automatic Display of NEW Data in ALV Report using Classes and Methods

I have developed a ALV Report for displaying data from a set of DB tables using ABAP OO, Classes and Methods. The requirement is to have the report output to be automatically updated with the new entries from the DB table at a regular frequency of tiem may be every two minutes.
Could anyone please tell me how can this be acheived.

Performing searches and scrolling within a report using Plus and Viewer

Hi All:
In Discoverer Plus and Viewer, is there a way to do searches within a report?
Also, if I have a report that has multiple pages, as much as I can adjsut the row number, is there a quick way to get from the beginning to the end of the report and vice versa without using the Down/Up option?

In Plus, you can click the Search button, it has the icon of a Torchlight. This brings up a new dialog box that allows you to search through the report. Because Viewer is an HTML page it has no similar feature. If the whole report is on screen you can the browsers own search facility by pressing CTRL-R.
As for getting to the last page in Viewer, that functionality was added as an enhancement during the release of 10.1.2.2 cumulative patch 2 and has been continued into 10.1.2.3
Here are the notes from CP8:
Enabling Bug 5639863 - ENH: NEED OPTION TO NAVIGATE TO LAST PAGE IN VIEWER
Introduced UI for page navigation, using which a user can navigate to first/previous/next/last/specific page of the worksheet in Viewer. A new config parameter, named ‘pageNavigation’ has been added in configuration.xml as part of this enhancement.
It is a Boolean parameter, which when set to true, the page navigation toolbar will appear in the Viewer page, else not. It has been added owing to the fact that non-incremental query has to be run for showing the page serial number information correctly, thus resulting in relatively more show-up time of worksheet (based on how large the worksheet is) for the first time its rendered. It is recommended to set this parameter as FALSE, because setting it to true makes the query non-incremental, which is a performance trade-off.
And some additional commentary from CP2:
The default is FALSE. If you wish to use this UI, then you may notice a performance trade off for very large queries when the query initially runs compared to the default 10.1.2 functionality. The trade off is that it is much easier and quicker to navigate to specific pages of a large report.An example of the usage of 'pageNavigation' is given below

Fetch table value in BEX Web report using Javascripts, and assign condition

Hi Gurus,
I am currently using WAD 3.5. I need to change the web report to behave like below :-
1. Default layout (Field A B C) with condition A & B activated.
2. If the drilldown Field B and C is removed, leaving only field B alone in the report drilldown, deactivate condition A & B, Activate condition C & D.
3. the above can be reversed where user drilldown field B & C into the layout, the condition A & B need to then be activated back.
So I believe this can be done using Javascript. So my questions are below
1.) How do i fetch table value for the navigationblock ? with navigationblock i am able to know what are the columns are in the drilldown (i will not display free characteristics, so ignore this part). how do i read the content of NAVIGATIONBLOCK_1 as shown in following code? using javascript.
