Request: Export Support Request to PDF or other format

As part on internal Incident and Problem investigation tracking we currently include a reference to the VMware SR number. It would however be useful to be able to include a copy of the full SR, including all the notes, analysis, etc. so that people who do not have access to the SR can view the details.
Would it therefore be possible to have an "Export to PDF" function on the my.vmware.com portal to enable SRs to be exported? Suggested format would be PDF, but potentially other formats too.
Thanks!
Tim

This DocImage SDK enables you to save Support Request to PDF document or other image and document formats (such as Word, Excel, PNG, TIFF and so on).

  • Printer Requested Exporting Document in CMYK, with one other color so he could color correct to his printers.  How do I do this?

I have a client that was originally going with a metallic Pantone color and last minute decided to change their mind to cut costs.  So after talking to the printer (because the conversion color is way off) he requested that I export the document in 5 color processing.  He wants CMYK + the color that would originally have been the metallic pantone so he can go in and grab that one color and color correct as needed on his printer.  Can someone please let me know how I export CMYK + one color which will also be in CMYK.
    Thanks!

Incase anyone comes across this same issue, you can create a new swatch as a "Spot Color" even though it is CMYK and it will export as CMYK + 1 other color.  Hope this helps anyone else who comes across it.

  • Exporting from Acrobat 3D PDF to CAD formats

    Hello,
Good day, hope all is great.
According to the Adobe Knowledgebase Acrobat 3D 8 can export a PDF into different CAD formats like parasolid.
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402271
I am using the trial version of Acrobat 3D and have not been found out how to do this, even after reading the help files. Please forward your thoughts and suggestions. I can open several CAD formats, but don't know how to export.
    Thanks in advance,

The Knowledge Base appears to not be as clear as it should be in regard to the Export feature.
To gain access to the Export feature the model needs to be converted into PDF using one of the PRC formats. Dpending on the type of CAD file you are starting out with, conversion may be limited to only to one of the .U3D formats, so you would not see the "Export Data..." feature.
BTW - the "Export Data..." feature is in the right-click context menu that is displayed when interacting with a PRC formatted 3D annotation.
Which CAD format are you starting out with? I just converted a SolidWorks model using the PRC format and the "Export Data..." feature was available.
To convert using one of the PRC formats, drag the original CAD file onto Acrobat. In the Acrobat 3D Cnversion dialog's "Import" tab, select one of the PRC formats in the "Format:" pop-up menu and hit OK. In the resulting PDF, activate the 3D annot, then right-click on it. You should see the "Export Data..." feature in the context menu.

  • Export contacts in CSV, Excel or other format.  I DO NOT want to sync with an email account.  This is for an exemployee who just wants names and numbers in a simple format.

I have the iPhone 4S, iOS7.0 of an ex-employee.  That person would like a list of their contacts from the phone.  I DO NOT want to sync with another email account, just a simple listing of the contacts.

  • Wiki in pdf (and other format) , please

    Yes, i'm new to archlinux.
But it's been a month that i installed "overlord" on my laptop and then on my PC.
i found that the wiki is very helpful but i prefer to read it in pdf so i copy those selected pages and paste to OpenOffice, convert it to pdf and read them via pdf viewer on another computer(i did it while installing arch on my laptop and do the opposite while installing on that PC).
Recently, i just know that there are some apps that can convert html page to pdf or else like "htmldoc" but it's not friendly enough for me though.
And i might miss something else beside htmldoc but it could be a time cunsuming task to convert those things.
So, is it possible for arch team to convert all topics to pdf that anyone can download them very easily and without any extra experience or effort?
I know, the wiki is alwals dynamic and it's a hard work and boring to do such things but i think this could be a great help for everyone(especially who loves reading pdf docs).I got this idea when i was searching some infos in Gentoo and FreeBSD's official sites that i could choose lots of format to download any docs and they're very informative and polished though some of them are obsolete or outdated. Yeah, the arch's pdf docs should be in the similar way or better.
If there's a better way to convert every single page to pdf, please tell me.
For now i've got plenty of them already, but for a very newbie it's would be nice, really.
And i think that's not easy to contribute the wiki myself while some might call me noob.
    So what's your suggestion?.

Some time ago I wrote a little script to convert wiki to txt for the CD. As I'm using texinfo it was relatively easy to modify it to create pdfs. Like this.
I can guarantee you that it will fail on some pages, but it should work well for most of them.
You can find the script here
extract both files into one dir and then run
    python wiki2pdf.py WIKIPAGETITLE
    Caveat: This requires LaTeX

  • Convert PDF or other format to PDF/A

    Hello,
I have some questions about converting to PDF/A using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro
I want to know if it is possible to convert PDF-documents or other 'image-documents' to PDF/A.
Via advanced - Prefligt you can convert separate PDF-documents into PDF/A-documents. I can't  find the possibility to convert more documents in one go. For example a whole file/folder.
And is it possible to convert several (more than one, a whole file/folder) 'image-documents' at one go into PDF/A-files. And if this is possible what kind of 'image-document'/format has it to be. For example jpeg or other.
And at last: is there a quick way to convert a single 'image-document' into PDF/A. And if this is possible what kind of 'image-document'/format has it to be. For example jpeg or other.
I hope to receive some helpfull reactions for which I thank you beforehand.
    Greetings,
    Anke

In Acrobat you can use a batch sequence. As output format you can choose PDF/A.

  • Video not playing after exporting to Epub or pdf

    Really need some help here!
I was making an ebook project with Indesign CS6 and was planning on putting some interactive videos which can be played in the ebook. However, after I've followed all the instructions online for placing video content into indesign and export as either interactive pdf or Epub format, the video I placed cannot be played and not even showing on Epub file.
Could someone help me to solve this kind of situation? Is there any setting I should make and I did not for exporting interactive video content?
    Thanks

    Thanks for replying.
    1) The video I placed was in mp4 format.
    2) On Media panel, I checked Option: "Play on Page Load" ,
                                                Poster: "From Current Frame" ,
                                            Controller: "SkinOverAll"
                                               "Show Controller on Rollover"
It worked fine on preview mode.
Now that I know Adobe Digital Edition doesn't preview video, and when I exported as interactive PDF format, the video frame cannot be clicked or played.
    3) I was trying to export as EPUB3 and interactive PDF format
    4) I was using Adobe Digital Editions and I did not know it doesn't preview video.

    File Permission Issue.

  • You cannot export the request at the movement -while releasing the request

    Hi.. Experts
Today, we had message from our functional consultant that When he is trying to release the TRANSPORT REQUEST (not tasks) he is getting the error  " You cannot export the request at the movement "
After 2 / 3 hours, we discovered file exists in Transport Profiel directory
    " /usr/sap/trans/bin" directory Fine Name :   T_OFF.ALL
After removing that file - The request releasing were happening normally.
In this juncture, Even though the issue is fixed ,
We would like to learn how this file got created  and which transactions / which configurations will create this T_OFF.ALL file and stops all Transport releases
    Thanks in advance
    Rgds
    PR

This file T_OFF.ALL has to be created manually in the bin directory to basically stop release of any transport request from all systems. No transaction creates it .
Please go through the links to get more info on this mechanism.
    [is there something like NOIMPORT.<SID> but with exception list;

  • HP Support Super-Sleuth: Receipts, Records and Support Requests, Oh My!

How does a warranty work?  How does HP keep track of support cases for 80 million (that’s right, MILLION) consumer products?  And darn it, do you really need to keep your product receipt?
Today we’re launching a new series on the forum blog to shed light on some of the frequently asked questions about what it is that we do here in the world of HP support.  We’ll be mining our databases for the best questions and giving you some insight into what it’s like to provide world-class support to our customers worldwide.
Today’s topics: keeping your receipts and keeping track of customer requests.
Q:  Do I really need to keep my product receipt when I purchase an HP product?
A: Yes.  Always retain your product receipt when you make a big technology purchase.  The most important reason for keeping your receipt is so that you have the proof of purchase in case there are any questions or discrepancies about your warranty or service contract with HP.
Your HP warranty begins from the date you purchase your HP product. In most cases, the serial number of your product will be sufficient to confirm your product entitlement to warranty coverage. However, sometimes incomplete registrations or other issues make it impossible for HP support to accurately record the date you purchased your product.  If this happens, HP support agents will ask you to provide and verify your date of purchase before you can access your warranty coverage.  Your receipt should include the serial number of the product to which it applies and confirms the date you purchased your product from HP or an authorized HP retail partner. You receipt is the easiest form of documentation to provide when validating your warranty.
Don’t worry though, if you misplace your receipt (the warranty generally lasts an entire year), we can accept other documents as proof of purchase, too.  Invoices that include product details and date of purchase, credit card receipts or statements that include product information and date of purchase and other official documents can all work in place of a receipt.  Just remember to BLACK OUT any personal account information or other identifying data on your documents.  Our support agents will immediately destroy any documents that contain this kind of information – our first priority is your privacy!
As a last resort, if no other purchase date is available for a consumer product, a default date of purchase is loaded into our systems instead of your actual date of purchase.  Customer Service will work with you to determine the closest date to your original purchase as possible. Often, that date coincides with the date the product was shipped to the store, the date it was first powered on, or the date it was manufactured.
To recap: Keeping your receipt helps ensure you receive the best support possible and allows HP to deliver the customer experience you expect. Keep your receipts!
Q:  How does HP support keep track of all of its customer requests?
A:  It’s true: we have a LOT of consumer products out there in the world.  Luckily, only a fraction of the 80 million printers, laptops, desktops and other technologies we produce ever need help from our support team.  Even that fraction translates to significant data that HP needs to track.  We know that to you, that data is more than bits and bytes – it’s the access point to your digital life!
Our highly trained support team uses state-of-the art software to keep track of information related to each customer case and works hard to document each customer’s concerns and ongoing interactions over the course of a service experience.  Our software is secure, but allows us to share case notes between the various experts you might need to work with to resolve your support questions. This way, anyone who responds to your request can see who you talked to you and what was discussed.  You might have to provide a little bit of context, just to set the scene for our support agents, but the key points are right at their fingertips!
We also have some policies that help us stay focused on open and active cases.  For instance, we have time limits for responding to requests for information, like the proof of purchase requests we talked about above, before a case is closed.  These time limits are communicated to the customer along with each information request, which is usually sent via email.  For instance, if HP requests a proof of purchase to validate a warranty claim, we ask that the customer reply within five days to let us know they’re pursuing the necessary information.  If we do not hear from a customer within the five-day window a representative is authorized to close that specific case. After that point a customer can open a new case number and reference the old case in their claim.  This process ensures we do not keep old cases open and unresolved indefinitely.  We maintain clear, precise and secure records for support requests and can access old case information quickly and accurately.
