Request/Reply in FTP Adapter

Hi,
I have to implement the Req/Reply paradigm with an FTP Adapter and DB Adapter. A file is created which is read by FTP adapter and a synchronous reply is required in the same file e.g the file will contain XML for customer number; in response in requires Customer Name is the same file.
I am using Procedure in iStudio but how can I direct the reply to the same file with the same name with which it is originally created in the upload directory.
In a nut shell, what is the best way to model req/reply in File and DB Adapter.
Thanks
M jahangir

Hi All
The request-reply pattern is working with queues and topics, but not with topic and queue. The issue is with this:
<adapter-config name="RemoteOSBJMSService" adapter="JMS Adapter"
wsdlLocation="RemoteOSBJMSService.wsdl"
xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
<connection-factory location="eis/JMS/RequestReplyTopic"
UIJmsProvider="WLSJMS" UiOperationMode="Asynchronous"
UIConnectionName="chdsez147855d"/>
<endpoint-activation portType="Reply_ptt" operation="Reply"
UITransmissionPrimitive="Request-response">
<activation-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.jms.inbound.JmsConsumeActivationSpec">
<property name="PayloadType" value="TextMessage"/>
<property name="UseMessageListener" value="false"/>
<property name="DestinationName" value="jms.soa.local.response.q"/>
</activation-spec>
</endpoint-activation>
<endpoint-interaction portType="Request_ptt" operation="Request"
UITransmissionPrimitive="Request-response">
<interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.jms.outbound.JmsProduceInteractionSpec">
<property name="TimeToLive" value="0"/>
<property name="PayloadType" value="TextMessage"/>
<property name="DeliveryMode" value="Persistent"/>
<property name="DestinationName" value="jms.soa.local.request.topic"/>
</interaction-spec>
</endpoint-interaction>
</adapter-config>
The connection factory "eis/JMS/RequestReplyTopic" can either hold isTopic as false or true. If i set it to false, it doesnt even let me enqueue and if i set it to true. The reply doesnt arrive.
Please help!

  • Synchronous HL7 Inbound request-reply

    Hello All,
    This is my first please sorry for any mistakes
    I'm currently using,
    Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0)
    Copyright (c) 1997, 2012, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
    My task looks very simple
    I need synchronous HL7 Inbound request-reply.
    What I'm trying to do is:
    Using Jdeveloper create SOA composite project
    1) Set up synchronous HL7 Inbound request-reply using "HL7 Adapter" (Inbound type: QRY_T12, Outbound type: DOC_T12)
    2) Set up synchronous BPEL (also tried specify later) and wire it to "Exposed service" created on step 1
    3) Add simple transformation between BPEL Recieve and Reply (setting ACK.1 == "AA")
    Compile: no warnings or errors
    Deploy: no warnings or errors
    Send HL7 message -> getting "IDeliveryService.post() invoked for two-way operation 'request-reply'. This method can only be used to invoke one-way operations which don't return any messages. Please check the WSDL which defines this operation and use the method IDeliveryService.request() to invoke a two-way operation"
    What am i doing wrong?
    Is such thing as HL7 request-reply is possible?
    Will highly appreciate any help, being struggling with this more than a week
    Thanks in advance!
    PS Endpoint Acknowledgement Mode is set to SYNC

    Bob,
    I don't think PS4 (11.1.1.5) has this option available -

    Hi,
    You don't need a NSXD (Native Format Builder) to receive a message that is XML already, and the NXSD you listed above has nothing to do with the sample incoming message. So, no surprises it is complaining "Error while trying to translate from native.".
    You have to fix the incoming message element on the Socket Adapter.
    Cheers,
    Vlad

  • How to reply from a ESB scenario with FTP adapter

    Hello all,
    Is it possible to create a reply message when a FTP Put adapter is failing?
    The background scenario is following:
    We have an ESB routing service, that is called from a BPEL process, and invokes a FTP adapter (put). Hence, the adapter is a one-way adapter. However, when for some reason the files are not delivered to the ftp server, the adapter fails, and no fault or reply messages are created to send back to the BPEL process. As a consequence, the BPEL process continuous successfully while it should raise a failure.
    So, how can we alter the scenario, so that failures in the ftp adapters are propagated to the BPEL process? For instance, by creating a reply message in the ESB service?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Harm

    Hi Harm,
    When the FTP adapter fails in ESB, is that specific instance in the ESB console then marked as faulted?
    If so you might be able to look on the JMS error topic ( error hospital ) and report this back to BPEL?

  • Novice Question:  XML File using FTP Adapter Help Requested

    I need to create (publish) a message from an XML file that is written to a particular folder on a Win2000 machine (I intend running the adapter on the same machine). I think that the FTP adapter should be the easiest way to do this but I have only used this adapter to publish DL3-defined files, and only then on a unix platform.
    Is the FTP adapter the correct approach or is there a better way, and if it is the correct approach, can anyone point me to a sample application or pass along a sample adapter.ini so I can figure out configuring the adapter.
    Thanks
    Eric

    We use the FTP adapter for both reading and writing XML files. And it works quite OK (there are a few gliteches but nothing you cannot work around). You need to first make (find) a DTD for your XML file and import that as the AV for the message in IS (IStudio). Then you just point the adapter to the correct directory and it should work from there.
    As for better way Im not sure I'm no InterConnect expert but I dont know any other way to do it.
    Might be worth to notice (if you didn't already know) that you dont actually need FTP if it is on the local filesystems you can in the FTP adapter read from the local FS something along the lines of file:///c:/foo/bar as oposed to ftp://...
    As for adapter.ini you shouldn't need anything besids pointing the reciver to the correct directory the rest is done from IS.
    Let me know if you want more details...

  • FTP Adapter - ModificationTimeFormat  -issue

    Hi,
    We are using FTP adapter to poll a file from FTP server. We neither have an option to delete or archive files from that FTP remote server hence we are using "FileModificationTime" option. When we use this option, polling adapter errors out with ---
    "Could not get file modification time for file :/testfile.txt. Verify that the values for the "ModificationTimeFormat" activation parameter are correct.Ensure the time format pattern and filename begin index and end index are specified according to the specific FTP server.

    The FTP server you're connecting to does not understnad the MDTM command the FTP adapter is configured to use in order to obtain the files date/time:
    <2010-04-01 16:21:53,078> <DEBUG> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <File Adapter::Inbound> FTP Command: MDTM, reply:

    Try using one of the other File Modification Time options in the FTP Adapter wizard such as Directory Listing or File Name Substring

  • Issue with SAP PI FTP Adapter

    Hi All,
    We are seeing an issue with the FTP Adapter Communication Channel in SAP PI 7.1. When the communication channel is connecting to a FTP Server and if the connection request timeout ( ex: SFTP Server down ) we see a connection error .
    However the overall communciation channel status doesnot refelct it and it is still in GREEN status. The status being wrong doesnt raise an adapter CCMS alert. Also we are seeing that the communication channel stops all connection attempts after the failure for that communication channel.
    Wanted to check if anyone has seen or encountered the issue and how did you get past the problem.
    Thanks in advance..
    Arunava

    Hi,
    Could you please let me know whether it is sender communication channel or receiver ?
    Also please check below.
    1. Java messaging system queues are free or hanged ?
    2. Please mention time out paramter in the channel.
    3. Did you try Start/Stop the channel.
    Please get back to me.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Issue with FTP Adapter ListFiles files with spaces in the filename

    Hi
    I have an FTP adapter that does a ListFiles of all the files in a directory. It comes back and everything works fine however it removes all spaces from the filename meaning when I do the GET afterwards this fails as it is a different filename.
    The filename is a0eQ0000000wJVdIAM~1~ technote316.TIF note the space between ~ and technote.
    When a ListFiles is done I get the following request response in BPEL execution:
    <messages>
    <InvokeGetFilenames_FileListing_InputVariable><part name="Empty" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><empty xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/CommonServices/SalesforceNotifcationServices/GetFileNameFromFTPServer"/></part></InvokeGetFilenames_FileListing_InputVariable>
    <InvokeGetFilenames_FileListing_OutputVariable><part name="filelist" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><filelist size="1" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/CommonServices/SalesforceNotifcationServices/GetFileNameFromFTPServer"><file><directory>/salesforce/006Q0000007yKcd</directory><filename>a0eQ0000000wJVdIAM~1~technote316.TIF</filename><lastModifiedTime>1305507120000</lastModifiedTime><creationTime>0</creationTime><size>1906643</size></file></filelist></part></InvokeGetFilenames_FileListing_OutputVariable></messages>
    This then follows with a GET that fails:

    I'm guessing its some use of the jca.message.encoding I can't find anything that really explains this though. Just the http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_propertys.htm link.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi PG,
    Is your private file in the form of Java Keystore (.jks)? I had used .ppk file and it was a success.
    If it is .jks in your case, try using the same password for private key as of keystore file (.jks). I hope you're not supplying any PASSWORD in the Adapter properties.

  • TimestampOffset in FTP Adapter activation agent properties

    Hi all,
    I am having an issue using the "timestampOffset" FTP Adapter activation agent property on an SOA Suite 10.1.3.4/MLR#9 (Linux) system.
    I have a BPEL process that is being launched via the FTP Adapter when a particular file appears on a remote SFTP server. I am polling for this file every 5 mins, and don't want to retrieve it unless it is at least 15 minutes old. The SFTP server from which I am retrieving this file is configured with a different timezone than the SOA Suite server on which the BPEL process is running; the SOA Suite server has a timezone of MST (GMT-7) and the SFTP server has a timezone of GMT. Here is the relevant section from the WSDL for this PartnerLink:
    <jca:operation
    FileType="binary"
    LogicalDirectory="TriggerDirectory"
    ActivationSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.inbound.FTPActivationSpec"
    DeleteFile="true"
    IncludeFiles="external_ids_trigger\.txt"
    PollingFrequency="300"
    MinimumAge="900"
    ModificationTimeFormatOld="43,54,MMM dd yyyy"
    FileModificationTime="DirListing"
    ModificationTimeFormat="43,54,MMM dd HH:mm"
    OpaqueSchema="true" >
    </jca:operation>
    I attempted to compensate for this by adding the "timestampOffset" property to the activation agent in bpel.xml (also included in the jdev_files.zip attachment); this is detailed in the document "Oracle Application Server Adapters for Files, FTP, Databases, and Enterprise Messaging User’s Guide 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) B28994-01". Here is the activationAgents section from the bpel.xml file:
    <activationAgents>
    <activationAgent className="oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent" partnerLink="PollForTriggerFile">
    <property name="TriggerDirectory" type="LogicalDirectory">/uazsa/uazsaprd/integration/output</property>
    <property name="portType">Get_ptt</property>
    <property name="timestampOffset">25200000</property>
    </activationAgent>
    </activationAgents>
    When deploying this BPEL project to the server, it shows the "timestampOffset" property for the JCA adapter in the log, as follows:
    <2010-01-17 11:23:39,619> <INFO> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <AdapterFramework::Inbound> JCAActivationAgent::initiateInboundJcaEndpoint - Creating and initializing inbound JCA endpoint for:
    process='bpel://localhost/default/External_System_ID_Sync~1.0/'
    domain='default'
    WSDL location='PollForTriggerFile.wsdl'
    portType='Get_ptt'
    operation='Get'
    activation properties={TriggerDirectory=/uazsa/uazsaprd/integration/output, timestampOffset=25200000, portType=Get_ptt}
    However, this setting appears to have no effect, as when the adapter polls for the file, it finds it, but does not process it. I have turned up logging on default.collaxa.cube.activation to DEBUG, and I see the following when it polls for the file:
    <2010-01-17 12:18:40,342> <DEBUG> <default.collaxa.cube.activation> <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Opening sftp channel

    What needs to be done to have the timestampOffset property in bpel.xml honored by the activation agent? Any help is greatly appreciated! I have opened up an SR with Oracle on this as well, but sometimes the forums prove to be a quicker path to problem resolution. :)

    Thanks for the reply, Anirudh.
    Can you elaborate? The last part of section A.3.3. in the URL you posted is exactly what I did...I specified the "timestampOffset" property to the activation agent properties in bpel.xml. I specified the offset as the time difference (in milliseconds): 7 hrs = 7*60*60*1000 = 25200000. The value they provide in that example is puzzling: 2592000000 would be an offset of 720 hours! Maybe I'm misunderstanding something about this property?
    Thanks,

  • How to use FTPS using FTP adapter

    I am trying to create one BPEL process using SOA 11g 11.1.1.4, which will put file on remote location using ftp adapter. I have created JNDI properly and using wallet.
    useFtps= True
    walletLocation= correct path of wallet created in Oracle HTTP Server(OHS)
    walletPassword = walletPassword
    host = ipaddress
    username = myUsername
    password = myPassword
    For all this I have followed http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABEBGGD
    Now, whenever I try to test that BPEL process it gives me error:
    "Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'Put' failed due to: Error in establishing SSL session. Error in establishing SSL session. Unable to establish SSL session on control channel. Reply String: 530 Please login with USER and PASS. Reply Code: 530) Please correct the setup for SSL. ". The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution"
    Any suggestion or resolutions are welcome.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
    When you configure the Connection Factory for FTP Adapter in Admin Console, provide the following values for the attributes like the hostname, username, password, port and the path of remote location as where
    you want to write the file in remote Server i.e., ftpAbsolutePathBegin. Please fill this
    attribute with the path like /soa/ftp/file (example path). If you are writing to a remote FTP server you need to create a Connection factory for that as above.
    Please try this and let me know...
    Thanks,

  • Seeburger FTP Adapter And SAP PI 7.1

    Hi Everyone,
    Just a few questions about Seeburger FTP adapter please. Bit of background for clarity, we are doing an implementation using Seeburger FTP and sap PI 7.1 picking up EDIFACT (Orders) and returning (DESADV, ORDERSP, INVOICES). However we are not using any BIC, using another tool for EDIFACT -> EDIFACT-XML conversion (conversion agent) and in-house mapping development using graphical mapping.
    So couple of things which I haven't been able to figure out from the standard documentation for Seeburger FTP adapter:
    1) First is the functional ACK which we are meant to send back to the VAN is that a STANDARD FUNCTIONALITY with Seeburger FTP adapter?
    2) Because we are receiving a mix bag EDIFACT interchange on the way IN, I need to split messages accordingly and pass them on to the relevant channels and mappings. By using the standard module Splitter can I achieve that?
    3) Lastly some of the standard validations which are applicable to EDIFACT are they supported within the FTP adapter automatically? e.g. Counting number of messages in one interchange etc.
    Any help in this regard will be really great.
    regards

    Now a Good news.
    If you are using Seeburger version 2.1 (which you should be as you want it for PI 7.1), then there is an Internal Classifier and Split option for FTP adapter. You just need to tick checkbox "Use built-in splitting" and you are done. Then I believe there won't be any need for considering all these problems. The earlier version of Seeburger with PI 7.0 doesn't have such option and that could be the reason you haven't received any appropriate response yet.
    Still I will reply all your questions considering that "your case is of PI 7.0". -> remember PI 7.0
    >>even with just splitter we should be able to break it up?????? or am I wrong in thinking this?
    No. You even need BIC or an equivalent custom module for achieving this.
    >>I can't visualize where to handle the overall message count in one Interchange any suggestions?
    You need to write an adapter module for this. Not sure about the code but this module has to be added before the split happens.
    >> seeburger ftp adapter it does talk about a lot of reports which are available on sender/reciever actions. e.g. delivered, despatched etc. Are these reports not essentially ACKs?
    These reports are the ones used at the receiver side for getting the ACKs from the receiver. Your requirement is at present for sender scenario.

    Thanks for your reply.
    I used the character set as you suggested.But it is not getting converted correctly.
    Actual Value : (유)라이프테크놀로지스코리아
    Converted Value : ( $)C @/ ) 6s@LGAEWE)3n7NAv=:DZ8.>F
    I tried all others that are mentioned in the document. Still i am seeing different values. I am not getting the actual value.
    But in BPEL i see correct value getting passed to FTP Adapter.
    The character set is in XSD. Please find it below..
