Required Attribute style XML input from BPEL

Hi all,
We are integrating JDE 811 with BPEL using ORACLE SOA Suite 10133.
As per the documentation given http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28996/bpel_pm.htm#CDEICHJB, we created the BPEL process to support transacation from BPEL to JDE 811. As given in the document we generated the WSDL in attribute style. For testing the BPEL Process, they have given the XML input in the document in the format of attribute style as given below :
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/GetYearDescription_SYNC">
<ns1:jdeRequest type="callmethod">
<callMethod name="GetYearDescription" runOnError="no">
<params>
<param name="mnCalendarYear">58</param>
</params><onError abort="yes"/>
</callMethod>
</ns1:jdeRequest>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
and the output we received as
<GetYearDescription_SYNCProcessResponsehttp://xmlns.oracle.com/GetYearDescription_SYNCPSFTcallmethodDV811*ALL>
<callMethodGetYearDescriptionnourn:iwaysoftware:jde/services/JDEJAVA_CMFGBASE/B3000260/GetYearDescription>
<params>
<parammnCalendarYear>58</param>
<paramszYearDescription>2058</param>
</params>
</callMethod>
</GetYearDescription_SYNCProcessResponse>
But, if we use the current schema and give input using normal HTML form on the BPELConsole then the error comes like
WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'GetYearDescription' failed due to: Error in processing the input document.; nested exception is: javax.resource.ResourceException:
Error in processing the input document.</summary>
</part><part name="detail"><detail>javax.resource.ResourceException: Error in processing the input document.
that is why for outbound integration we need to give raw XML during runtime as input to the bpel process in bpel console manually. and that input looks like
Also in real time scenario, we are receiving the XML input from a third party software/Adapter that may be a flat file/.xml flat file/DB and we need to pass the similar data in BPEL to the JDE 811. Here we are not able to pass the data to JDE as the adapter accepts the input in attribute style XML.
If we are trying to enter that input through a flat .xml file then it returns no data, as nothing is passed to that process.
Any idea how we can process this without giving raw xml input manually during run time, means using normal HTML Form.
if it is not possible then please tell me what will be the required XML that we have to pass as input in that flat file.
Thanks,
Anindya

Hi All,
SOAP based input is required for any BPEL process for testing in BPEL Console.
We have created a BPEL process which is successfully receiving data from 3rd party and it is not in a SOAP format.
That is why we are entering input manually (I have already described input in above post) while testing that BPEL process. and we can receive proper output (i have already specified what i am getting as output in my above post.)
But in real time scenario we cant give input manually.
how can we achieve SOAP based invocation during runtime??
I hope my question is clear to all.
please suggest me if anybody have any idea about this.
Regards
Anindya

  • XML input into BPEL Process

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a BPEL process which receives XML input and then uses this input to insert data into the database.
    I have a stored procedure which will accept the input variables and do the insert.
    My XML looks like below:
    <Acc_type>
    <code> ABC </code>
    <name> Savings Account </name>
    </Acc_type>
    My stored Procedure has to input variables - code and name. I have changed the Receive activities, Process Request to include 2 inputs - code and name.
    I am not sure what changes need to be made to specify that the input will be in XML and also how to map the XML to the variables.
    Also, is it possible to use the same format for the XML as used when you initiate a BPEL Process and select XML Source? If I do this will I still need to make other changes?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
    I have tried implementing the ora:parseEscapedXML function, I have used the following expression to copy the data in the CODE node to my variable also called CODE.
    ora:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('inputVariable','payload','/client:TestXML2ProcessRequest/client:input','/Acc_Type/code'))
    I get the following error message:

  • Using "XML Document from XML Schema" in JDeveloper

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to generate XML Document from XML Schema.
    For this I have used "XML Document from XML Schema" feature in JDeveloper. It is found in File->New->General->XML Document form XML Schema.
    I have registered a schema with jdev and got an XML document output for that successfully.
    Now, I want to implement this feature in my code for generating XML documents when XSD files are provided.
    Can any one please provide me with pointers to do that? I am sure there should be some libraries which can implement this feature.
    Thanks,
    Dilbagh

    Create an XML document from a Schema with the Oracle SchemaClassGenerator.
    import oracle.xml.classgen.SchemaClassGenerator;
    XMLSchema schema=new XMLSchema();
    XSDBuilder builder = new XSDBuilder();
    URL    url =  new URL(schemaUrl);
    schema = (XMLSchema)builder.build(url);
    SchemaClassGenerator generator = new SchemaClassGenerator();
    Generate the Java classes from the example XML Schema.
    generator.generate(schema);With the java classes construct an XML document.

  • How to parse the result xml string in BPEL

    Hi,
    This is Ishmayel.v new to BPEL and hava experience in xml parsing, java and webservices.
    Now I am getting the XML file as a result string in BEPL.
    now I want to parse the XML string and insert into the database... If any one has the idea let me know.
    my email id is [email protected]
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Ishmayel.

    Your question is not clear.
    You have a client applicaton which invokes a BPEL process and receives XML response from BPEL. Then you want to parse this response XML in your client application?
    Or you are running a BPEL process which invokes a service and receives an XML response. Then you want to parse this XML response in BPEL before your process can proceed?
    I have to assume that you are working with a string and then you want to convert the string into XML, and then parse the XML. If this is the case, then take a look at the ora:parseEscapedXML(contentString) function. You can use this in the expression editor in JDev.

    another  option is to configure an outbound IDOC and set the port for this IDOC to generate an XML file.
    here again there will be IDOC control record in the first section of the IDOC XML generated.'

  • Question on Required Attribute Behavior

    I am having difficulty understanding what the correct behavior of a "required attribute" should be. Im using 9ifs.
    Using the Java API, I created a new content type derived from DOCUMENT, named it CLASSIFIED_DOCUMENT, associated a new file extension "cla" with it, and created a new required attribute called "Security_Level". From ifsmgr, I can see the new type and see that Security_Level
    is a required attribute. When I upload a file with the "cla" extension from the Viewer, it is entered into the database and correctly associated with the CLASSIFIED_DOCUMENT content type. So far so good.
    However, I have not supplied a value for the required attribute, and nothing complains that the Security_Level field is null. It seems to me that IFS should not allow the item to be entered into the database without this required attribute having a value, or perhaps a dialog box should pop up which forces one to enter values for required attributes before the instance of CLASSIFIED_DOCUMENT is entered into the database. Lacking that, an invalid instance is silently slipped into the DB...
    So on to my specific questions:
    How does one enter required attribute data when uploading using the Viewer?
    Shouldn't IFS be complaining when a CLASSIFIED_DOCUMENT is uploaded without Security_Level being set?
    Will required attribute constraints also be "ignored" when performing a programmatic file creation
    (similar to the "Hello World" example) of an instance of CLASSIFIED_DOCUMENT?
    Do I need to do other things when creating a required attribute using Java that will actually cause the attribute to be, well, REQUIRED?
    Is there a RTFM answer to this, and if so, can some kind soul please point me to the correct FM to R? I have the Developer's Guide and the IFS javadocs. The Guide has good examples but is woefully inadequate if you want to do something different from the examples. The jovadocs are of course good reference material but have nothing in the way of "application notes". I have looked at the
    example code and it suffers from the same shortfall as the Guide: if you want to do something different from what is in the example code, you're on your own!
    Is there a document that I should be reading but have missed?
    Thank you,
    Jeff Rininger

    Hi Jeff -
    Thanks for the feedback.
    REQUIRED attributes are exactly what you describe: they are a way to ensure an attribute has a non-null value when a new object is created or when that attribute is updated in an existing object.
    From an API perspective, in creating a new object, that value can be supplied in three ways: explicitly by setting an attribute in the LibraryObjectDefinition, through a VALUEDEFAULT on the attribute, or (advanced topic) through custom server extensibility code.
    One thing to keep in mind: REQUIRED checks are (intentionally) not performed in administration mode. You might want to try creating an object as a non-admin user. That should cause the check to be performed.

  • XML format for input to BPEL process from client stub

    Hi,
    I have deployed SyncHelloWorld BPEL process as given in the tutorial in the BPEL Server. It is working fine. Now I am trying to invoke the process by creating a Java client stub . I created a stub using the Web-services wizard by specifying the WSDL of the BPEL. Now I want to know how to pass some string through XML document to the BPEL process.
    I am using this code in the main method of the stub., but the value is not being passed to the BPEL nodes correctly. the output I am getting is "Hello "
    and not "Hello XYZString". I think I am not able to form the XML document to pass as input correctly. Can anyone help.
    Can anyone please help :

    Thanks,

    Your last question shows that you might have solved this by now.
    The xml document you are composing in java might not exactly be the xml input bpel excepts. The way to compare is first initiate a process by posting an html message, using the initiate tab for your process in the BPEL console. Check the box "Save as default input" before you send the html request.
    Then again do an initiate from the BPEL console and select "XML Source" instead of "HTML Form". You will see the xml message you just have sent as html.
    You might also want to test your java program with one of the many free soap clients available on the internet.

  • Bind the output data (Xml) from BPEL process to ADF SelectOneChoice Control

    Hello,
    My requirement is to invoke a BPEL process from ADF page and display returned results in a select one choice (drop down box).
    I have created a Data Control for the BPEL process through Web service data control and tried to invoke the BPEL process. I could see from the BPEL console that BPEL process is getting invoked. But the ADF doesn't bind any of the output to Select one choice.

    And the toStatus node values viz, Assigned, Pending, Closed, Cancelled should get binded to the SelectOneChoice control
    Waiting for your valuable inputs,

    I have been still trying for the solution. I have modified the XSD created by the jdeveloper to,
    <schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified"
         elementFormDefault="qualified"
         targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/StateTransitions"
         xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
         <element name="StateTransitionsProcessRequest">
              <complexType>
                   <sequence>
                   <element name="input" type="string"/>
                   </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
         <element name="StateTransitionsProcessResponse">
              <complexType>
                   <sequence maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <element name="stateChanges">
    <complexType>
    <sequence>
    <element name="fromState" type="string" />
    <element name="toState" type = "string" />
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </element>
    </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
    </schema>
    And I have given this XSD url while creating the Web Service Data Control by deploying it into the Oracle App server.
    So, I can see the tree structure of "Return" as "StateTransitionsProcessResponse->StateChanges->toState,fromState"
    I have binded the toState field of the Data Control to the SelectOneChoice ADF control in a jspx page by using List binding editor.
    I have selected,
    Base data source as "Variables" (Currently I don't need to update any table),
    List Data source as "process: getStateTransitions.process.StateTransitionsProcessResponse.stateChanges" (Web Service Data Control)
    Base Data source attribute as "process_input"
    List Data Source Attribute as "toState"
    I can initiate the web service (BPEL process) by providing the necessary input value like 'Open' or 'Pending' or 'Assigned' but the SelectOneChoice control doesn't populate with any values.
    Waiting for valuable inputs!
    Thanks and Regards,
    babloo.

  • How to add XML attribute to an Element using BPEL assign

    I have a request xml to a bpel process that does not contain a attribute.
    After some process I need to create this missing attribute and set a value.
    I tried using the XML fragment in the Assign Activity. But how can I create a attribute?
    This XML node to which I am trying to create an attribute is a very huge node with lot of dynamic typing(xsi:type). I can just re-create the complete xml with required nodes.
    Does any one know how I can create a xml attribute using the BPEL assign? I do not want to use the Java code in my process.
    Thanks.

    I'm bit confused about what exact problem you are facing with attributes.
    You can check accessing XML attributes in BPEL Assign @ http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12483_01/integrate.1013/b28981/manipdoc.htm#BABIHDHI from the page http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12483_01/integrate.1013/b28981/manipdoc.htm.
    I suppose your source input has no attributes and destination has to be an xml with attribute of type xsi:type. You can use the assign activity as mentioned in above document to assign your type structure to type attribute.

    The interface determination decides whether to create IDOC X or IDOC Y based on a xml segment value.
    I have an error in the SXMB_MONI:

    From the SXMB_MONI, the inbound message payload is truncated with an error:
    - <ProductIdentification>
      <GlobalProductIdentifier />
    - <PartnerProductIdentification>
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

      </ProductIdentification>
    - <QuantityInformation>
    - <confirmedQuantity>
      <ProductQuantity>1.00</ProductQuantity>
      </confirmedQuantity>
    I've checked that the xml format is OK.
    As a matter of fact, if I try to resend the xml file from directory, the message is processed correctly and the payload shows all the xml file.
    Thanks.

    Hi Suraj,
    That option is not available in FTP mode..
    This option is applicable only for the File adapter. If you enter a value in this field when configuring the sender FTP adapter, it will have no effect.
    Yes, you're right !!
    Are you sure that the message is not getting picked in half-way
    Now, at this time, I can't see the XML data in the CC monitoring because the tool shows only the recent polling execute in the last 10 minutes. If the error recurs, I will check the payload of CC.
    How can I solve the problem with reading incomplete file (FTP mode)?
    ...Meanwhile I will try with Full cache refresh.
    Thanks
    Daniele
