Required Field - Correct Format and Content

I have a form with a field in which the user is required to enter a phone number. I want to assign validation so that they are prompted when they enter an incorrect input and can’t proceed until after they’ve entered a seven to ten digit number (as in a phone number). Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

In the LiveCycle Designer, you can use a phone number field.
To add the Phone Number field and validation:
Open your form in LiveCycle Designer.
Click Insert -> Custom-> Phone Number. You can choose UK or North America
In the field tab of the properties window, specify the Max Chars for the phone number.
Click patterns. In the validation tab, select type and click apply.
In the value tab, specify custom messages.
You should be able to add the validation. Let me know your thoughts.

My computer recently had a kernel panic, which apparently the corruption was in the system and needed to be erased and re-installed. I have a complete back-up using an external hard drive, and I am definitely not willing to do another one of those to reformat a partition that is already singular. I restarted the computer after ejecting my back-up, and after turning off time machine (thinking that boot camp was recognizing it as a secondary partition), however the error still occurs.
Is there any way to get around this?

From my very basic knowledge - it still looks as if there is only one partition (not including the windows 7 CD necessary to install the windows partition).

Hi Kate,
You are not on the right track; MD14 and 15 will choose the PLANNED ORDER population for the conversion. In planned orders there's NO PURCHASING ORGANIZATION DATA (normally)!
So even if you managed to put the field on the screen, it will not do anything that makes sense.

What Tools are required for correcting skin and teeth?

I have received RAW images from a photographer for our Son & Daughter in law's wedding.
He also has Lightroom program and never used it to improve the pictures.
I need to help remove blemishes, shadows and bags under eyes, teeth that are discoloured on the elders, etc.

Consider using locals applied with a brush (or radial filter), for example:
teeth -- +exposure
skin -- spot removal, and contrast/clarity/sharpness reduction for the complexion.
but of course there are other locals which you can mix in too: e.g. saturation, coloration and/or white-balance..

Debug not showing & required fields not working

I have MX 7.0.2 Developer's Version installed on W2K and MX
7.0.2 on W2003 soon to be production server. On my Developer's
Version the debug output shows up and the required fields using an
input tag work. The same code on the production server, with the
same admin settings doesn't show debug output and the required
fields don't catch that the field is blank. I have read in the
forum that it is very likely that the /cfide virtual mapping is not
configured correctly, but not specifically how to fix the problem.
I see cfide in the admin setting, mappings on the production server
and have tried turning debug on and off, but still no debug output
and required fields not catching and not showing validation
message. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Amit,
Do you mean to say that you are not able to see these settings in SE16 where as other users are able to? If that is the case , there might be an authorization problem for you.
or try logging off and loginto the system. that should work sometimes. If not try to go to SU53 and check whether your auth has failed to see for this table.

Checking Required Fields

Because I wanted specific subject line when the form is submitted via email, I used the following script attached to the click event of a regular button:

This works correctly, but the user can submit the form without all the required fields filled out. What script do I add to the regular button to check the required fields? I know the Submit e-mail button does this automatically, but as far as I know, the subject line cannot be dynamic when using this library button.

There are many ways...
The simplest is setting your required fields to "mandatory" and using execValidate() from your submit/print/etc. button.

Fonts change size and content when edited in photoshop cs6

When I try editing the type in the document created in Photoshop CS6, some of the fonts I click on change their size, formatting as well as content of what it says.
It also started happening when I try changing canvas size. All of the fonts that got corrupted somehow, changing their formatting and content as I'm changing the canvas size.
The document has been created from scratch..

Basically, I will have to create a pdf form where users fill it and send it back to me. there will be required fields (the textbox and check box) that user need to fill before saving the editable pdf?

Thanks for reply. What I am trying to achieve is to give an option for the user to download the pdf form and once the user tries to save the pdf, it validates with the required field. I managed to create the editable pdf with required fields option. I just need that validation to be done when user click on save file. How can I achieve this? thanks so much for your help.

Adobe forms-checking that required fields are completed-Java Script

I am new in Hyperion FDM. I am trying to load a txt file using multiload feature of FDM. I have created a VBScript to load data. When i run the script it finishes without error but doesnt load any data. I get the following errors in the log file

You could add a scripteditor webpart on the newform.aspx page and add client side validation using jQuery.

Check for required fields before locking subforms and submitting

I have a 5-page form with many questions, to be completed by the original requestor and multiple approvers. What I'm trying to do is have the original requestor's Submit button on p. 3 lock the input on the first three pages, but first check if all those fields have some content. I currently have all the fields on pp. 1-3 set to "Required" in the object properties, but my script still locks them when there's is one empty one. Here's what I have:

The automatic check for required fields happens after the pages get locked. I would like the check to stop the process before it locks the pages. Is there any way to check all at once that all "Required" fields on those pages have some content before allowing the script to proceed? I know how to script it to manually check the 50 or so questions on those pages, but I would like to avoid that. Thanks for any help.

There are a few problems that I can see from the start. First, your code is going to pick up EVERY node that exists on these pages. Some of those nodes will not have a rawValue, and some will not have an actual name. As an example, you can take your code and create a text field to dump all of the names of the nodes that you get when you pull in all of the nodes this way. Here's an example:

Now, the question is, do you have a consistent naming convention for your fields that might be empty? That could be text fields, radio button lists, etc. For instance, I always prefix the names of objects in order to more easily keep track of what they are in scripts. Since I'm doing that, I can check the name of the field for tf, nf, rbl, cb, or whatever I have included to make sure that I'm checking an actual field before I check for things like rawValue.

As for your line 7 issue. The syntax problem is that you've put extra parentheses in your if statement. Take out the parentheses that are just before and after the or "||".

HT1338 I was backing up my MacBook with Time Machine on my new (correctly formatted) external hard drive. It was going fine when my 2 yo knocked the hard drive. Now TM said "failed" and the Mac refuses to recognize the external hard drive. Help please?

All was going well when my 2 yo knocked the disk leading to a "failure" by time machine (Latest Backup: Failed). Now the MacBook will not even recognize the hard drive. I have rebooted, tried all I can think of, but no acknowledgement of the drive. The drive itself makes noise and vibrates as if working, but nothing from the Mac. Please help or $100 down the drain... Thank you.

How to make a field in a form required when the prior field (a dropdown) has content entered

I have a table with 15 columns of various questions/topics (year, course number, instructor, etc) and 14 rows of input fields. A couple are dropdown menus, but the rest are just text fields. The client wants (most) of the fields to be required but the amount of rows used will be different for each user. So I'm trying to get each row of fields to only be required if the first field in each row (which is a dropdown) has a selection made (to avoid users from getting a required field error if they only enter say 3 rows of content of the 14 possible rows.) I'm assuming this will be a javascript if/then situation, but have been having trouble finding a similar example via google. thanks!
