Required field error

Hi,
I have two very basic queries:
1) I created a simple non-mvc based bsp application wherein I marked few input fields mandatory by setting required property to true. On submitting the page it used to give me error incase I have left any required fields blank of its own, but after I created the entire application now the error has disappeared and it is allowing me to post the data from the page even if the mandatory fields are left blank. Kindly guide so as to what changes I could have done that the error has disappeared or how can I get it now.
2) When I am doing any server side validation based on the user input I want to show some values calculated at runtime as a javascript alert but unable to pass the value to javascript.
Please help.. any 1-2 liner code would help a lot..

How do you move the required field error message?
for example when a field is left blank and the page submits
a error message would populate right under the label and push the item(text box) to the right. Making the form look very ugly.

That only moves the DML error messages
I kind of want to move the default error messages for the items. ( i dont see any message tab or anything in the edit page for items.)

TYPO in the required field error message???

This is by far the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I created a form for a client with required fields. When I test it on my mac, I get the appropriate error message. When he tests it on Windows, there is a glaring TYPO in the message: "required fields" reads "required fileds" WHAT THE HECK???? Is there a way to edit that message? I always thought it was an automatic thing, but maybe I inadvertently typed it? ANY CLUES??

Did you create this form?
If so check your script.
If not contact the organization distributing the form about the error.
This looks like a user written script and not one created by Adobe.
You also have a misspelling on the content of the form.

Empty required field error message

I keep receiving "At lest one required field was empty on export. Please fill in the required (highlighted) fields before continuing." message.
I have changed all required fields to optional, but still get the above message. When I do get the message, there are no fields highlighted to correct and I have gone back thru each field and checked to make sure there are no required fields.
I would like to have 7 fields in my form as required, but even when we tried to put something in the field and submit the form, we received the message. I thought that removing the "required" value would take care of the problem, but the message still comes up.
Can anyone help.

How Avoid required Field Error message

I am using JDevelepor 11.1.2.1.0 Version
I create a form in ADF table format. In my table composite primary key,(compaycode,division code,branch code, and account code),
And i set LOV for these attributes.
The problem is that when i set value to company code fire required error message for other primary key fields....
How am handle this?

About the built-in "required" field error message

Hi team,
i noticed that when defining a translation for the built-in error messages APEX.PAGE_ITEM_IS_REQUIRED, this message doesn't accept any parameters (the %0...%n sort of).
It would be nice if at least %0 could be mapped to the currently translated field label, such that if one opts for displaying the message in the notification area only, the relevant field name would be displayed alongside.
Note that the default english message does display the field name, it's only the translated component that doesn't handle it.

just use the #LABEL# placeholder an you will be fine. Just have a look at the documented default messages at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/global.htm#CHDEDHBJ for an example.

Enter required field error in ABAP web dynpro

Hi Experts,
I have enhanced the existing application.
i have placed a dropdown.
my problem was the status of the dropdown is normal item.
when i enter the value for the first time it is accepting the value
and when i enter the value for the second time it is becomming in red and asking me to enter the value is i change the value in the dropdown it is accepting the value.
Please suggest me how to slove it.

The value for field "Pers.No." in the interface to Financial Accounting is an initial value but you are required to make an entry in the field selection for G/L account "504566872" in company code "2275" linked to the field selection for posting key "50".

It might be an error in the configuration of the G/L account field selection. The initial application, used to call up the interface must otherwise define a value for field "Pers.No.". If this is the case, contact the consultant responsible for the application used to call up the interface or get in contact with SAP directly.

First of all did you required to post with personnel number or not....if it is not required then goto FS00 enter your GL account 504566872....find Field Staus Group under tab Create/Bank/Interest........then goto t code OBVV and select your field status group then click on field status and select Additional account assignments and check personnel number status and change as per your requirement optional or required.
If personnel number required then create symbolic a/c with account type Q and assign gl account to this symbolic a/c.

First go to message pool under webdynpro components.
Create a new message there..of type error.
Enter your text.
Now to avoid null pointer exception , in wdDoInit(), initialise the value
wdContext.currentDateTimeElement().setDate("");
now create an action for submission of data. If field is empty, then within the button write:
msg = wdComponentAPI.getComponent().getMessageManager();

Error in MB1A - Field Profit Ctr is a required field for G/L account 151100

Hi,
While we are doing MB1A with movement type 201, we are facing a error message - Field Profit Ctr is a required field for G/L account 1000 151100.
I check following things.
1.. Check Field status group of GL 151100 and make optional to Profit center.
2.. In SE38, enter Report RM07CUFA and execute with 201 movt. type, 151100 Gl no. and 50200 cost center. According to this, no error exist now.
What should be error..

I think your cost centre is not assigned the above given bussiness area...
Take help of FI consultant and check whether its assigned at KS02 or not...
You can also change it...
or
if you are just doing testing, then better use other cost centre which assigned to the above given business area..

Hi Experts....
When I am trying to release the billing document no in VF02
It gives me an error
Field Pmnt terms is a required field for G/L account
This error comes only when payments are made through Credit Card....
Message F5808.
when I did a debug on this the field freigabe is made 'X'
and I hve cleared the value..Now it saves but the accounting document is not created.
We are in 4.7C version..
Can any one help me out in this issue....

Pass the payment terms to the field
xaccit-zterm = '0001'. in the User Exit.
Program : LV60BF0C,
Customer Function '002'.
Include File ZXVVFU02.
SE 37:- EXIT_SAPLV60B_002
Still I don't understand why SAP doesn't support payment terms for Credit Card. But when a Sales Order is created without credit card the field xaccit-zterm has a value.

ERROR Field Cost Ctr is a required field for G/L account TN 401130

I get this error when I try to bill a sales document, where do I maintain this setting. I assigned the Account Assigment Group to GL account via transaction VKOA. The AAG si then assigned to the masterial in the sales views. I still get the error of the cost centee field being missing. the setting is not in OKB9, I checked. Check error message from SAP below when I try to release document to Accounting.

Change the field status group for the GL account in the bank/interest tab of Tcode FS00.(Example from G004 to G019)
As the metioned GL will be a revenu account it does not require a cost center, only profit center is requierd.

Error: "Field Material is a required field for G/L account 3862 21201000".

We are trying to post and Rack purchase Invoice using "BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE" but the BAPI fails and the error message that we are getting is "Field Material is a required field for G/L account 3862 21201000". We checked the GLACCOUNT data that is getting passed into the BAPI but there is no material field available in the structure. Even posting online using MIRO returns the same error.
Just to give you a quick background on the issue with MATNR. The automatic posting is generating an entry to account 21201000, which is set to require MATNR on the GLACCOUNT posting details. Online in core MIRO the MATNR field does not show up, but you can set the screen variant to allow it to show and therefore enter a value, however, even if you do this if you attempt to cancel the invoice with standard TCode MR8M it again fails because the MATNR is not carried through to posting. There are a couple of OSS notes that relate to this issue, but we are not sure if it will solve our problem. We need to be able to pass a value in MATNR for GLACCOUNTDATA (not MATERIALDATA) so the posting can be effected.
Please let me know if anybody has come acroos this issue and a way to resolve. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

in SE38 Tcode and check the inconsistencies.
Also in FS00 go to details of the GL account and double click on field status group under create bank interest tab and then double click material management/additional assignments.

Goto Tcode - OKB9. Search for that G/L account number under your co. code. There select the row, you can maintain the cost center directly. Else for Account assignment detail column, keep it as 1(Valuation area mandatory). Then under new entries maintain the valuation area, which is nothing but the plant, and against that maintain the cost center.

I was at Starbuck's today trying to install new software for my new wireless internet card and when I finished I could no longer access any of my applications that require java... I have a macbook pro dual platform computer. When I try to access www.bayphoto.com to download my application it says: (see below) (which I think is strange because it's all about Starbuck's and it should be my java code- I think...).
