Reservation in ECS

Hi,
As far as I know Reservation to be created if stock exist works only in classic scenario.We have a reqt that a Reservation to be created from a SC if the stock exist in ECS for ceratin product category.
As far as I kknow there is BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI to overwrite ECS setting is there any other way around
We are using ECS scenario in SRM 5.0

Hi,
1) With ECS, you cannot create Reservation or PR in the backend.
2) If you want to create reservation, your scenario should be Classic.
But, if you want to have ECS in certain cases (for certain categories or certain conditions in Shopping cart), then you can determine a particular shopping cart item as 'Classic' or 'ECS' by implementing BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI.
If you want to create reservation, you have first to switch from ECS to classic scenario through BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI then you have to implement BBP_TARGET_OBJTYPE badi to determine the criteria to create a reservation in your backend.

We are working on Extended Clasissc sceanrio however certain materails we are creating reservation switching from ECS to Classic Scenario. System is Creating Reservation successfully in backend but Goods movement reservation allowed (FIELD XWAOK) check box not checked only for SRM Reservations
Please note that ECC reservations checking this checkbox automatically based on Configuration. Is there any setting we have to do in SRM to pass the check box value to ECC? or How Can i check what data is passing from SRM to ECC......

Dear Ravi,
Could you please check if you have added the value '201' against the attribute movement type (forgot the attribute name) for the purchasing group or user group who created the shopping cart in SAP SRM. Once you have added the attribute, the problem should be resolved.

Manual reservation for order category 30 is not allowed

Hi,
I have created a shopping cart with maintenance order as account assignment category.
SC is showing the status of Error in process. When I checked the process erro cause in function module there I am getting the message " Manual reservation for order category 30 is not allowed "
Can any one tell me how to move forward.

Hi Govardhan,
If you are working in ECS, the Shopping cart will not create any follow on document in backend R/3.
I think your Product category is 30, thats why the error says Manual reservation for order category 30 is not allowed.
Where did you get the maintenance order? Generally maintenance order is created in the backend R/3 (Plant Maintenance) and a P.R will get generated against that order.
Using PDP (Plan driven procurement) you can transfer that P.R to SRM and can carry out sourcing and can complete the procurement cycle.
Can you please tell me what is your exact business requirement?

Product ID in Local PO (ECS)

Our scenario is ECS and we're using material numbers in the catalog. These materials are not replicated to SRM.
In the call structure for the catalog we maintained "Do not check product". This works fine as long we maintain the material number in the catalog with leading zeros in the catalog.
Material numbers in the SC are displayed with leading zeros, no matter what output and storage format for product IDs I have configured in customizing . After saving the SC the local PO is created but the product ID field is empty when output and storage format is set to "display leading zeros" .But in the Backend PO item is created with the correct material number.
When output and storage format for product IDs the checkbox "display leading zeros" is not marked, the product IDs are displayed in the local PO (7 digits) but I get the error message "product does not exist in plant XXXX or has been flagged for deletion"
My questions are:
Is the product ID field in SRM PO not long enough to display 18 digits, or is it a bug?
Do I have to set the output and storage format of product IDs to "display with leading zeros" when products are not replicated?
Do I have to maintain Product ID in the catalog with leading zeros?

You should set this indicator if you want to prevent a check of the EBP System product master from occurring after items are transferred from the catalog.
If, for example, you replicate products (goods and services) directly from a backend system to the catalog, and do not want to replicate to EBP because your users always select products from the catalog, you can set this indicator to stipulate that these products are transferred to the EBP System (for example, the shopping cart) without checks.
The shopping cart item contains the product number, but the product is not checked. After the shopping cart is released, the follow-on document (purchase requisition, purchase order, or reservation) is created in the backend, that contains this product. Checks are made in the backend system to determine whether the product exists.product does not exist in plant XXXX or has been flagged for deletion -When are you geting this error message? during SC. Then it validates with backend right?.
I will check it out OCI inbound parameters for the material and get back to you.
Hope that this material is existed in the backend system.
Define Output Format and Storage Form of Product IDs - this setting is required for r/3 to srm material transfer. I believe you need not bother about this settings since you transfered the data from r/3 to catalog.

Reservation with Extended classic scenario

I'm working at a costumer were we have extended classic scenario. We want to be able to make reservations in the backend if the item is on stock, and we have seen in a solution matrix from SAP that this should be possible.
The configuration for reservations should be done according to the guides - but no reservations is created when ordering a stock material.
I was searching on the developer network, and came across a topic, where it was stated that reservations could only be made with classic scenario (or using a BAdI where you switch the extended on and off depending on product category). Do any of you know if this is really a fact?

Read this first.
You can use BBP_CREATE_RES_BACK BADI using Se18 Transaction.
This BADI You can find in SPRO -> Supplier Rel. Mngmt. -> SRM Server -> Business Add-Ins -> Follow-on document generation -> Reservation in Backend System
If you want to create reservation, you have first to switch from ECS to classic scenario through BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI then you have to implement BBP_TARGET_OBJTYPE badi to determine the criteria to create a reservation in your backend.
We need to maintian the customising setings in SPRO Transaction.
Define objects in Back end systems. Maintain the document type EC or ECPO for Purchase Orders and not for creating reservations. Maintain number ranges (RS) and align the same to R/3 or backend systems. In setting up the org plan in the PPOMA_BBP Transaction, the attribute for resevation - Attribute BWA should be maintained too, if reservations are to be created in the backend system.

221 WBS-Element
231 Sales Order
241 Asset
Example :

Maintain the following Settings in the IMG using SPRO Transaction.
1.For internal Procurement > 1.Always Reservation for Material types Subjected to inv Mgmt
2.For External Procurement >1.Always purchase Requisition.
Note -> The plant that you use to create the shopping cart might not be extended to handle inventory management. Select a right plant which is extended to inventory management and you will see a reservation being created.
Be aware that:
- with the classic scenario you can create PR, PO and/or Reservations in R/3, but there is no local purchasing document (except the SC), so all functions around the local PO will not be possible.
- with the extended classic scenario, you can only create PO in the backend, but a local PO exists in SRM.
Concerning GR, it is possible to make it in SRM for both scenario

Order as Direct material with result of reservation document

Hi All,
Currently, the client requirement is to active the "Direct Material" button during the shopping cart creation to differentiate between Direct and Indirect material purchase.
As I understand to active the button, we need to active "Extended Classic Scenario" to have "Direct Material" button. But they would like to have reservation document to be created after Shopping cart is approved and this is conflict with setting as only classic scenario to allow reservation document to be created.
Please share your idea.
This is my thought.
(1) Ext Classic with "Direct Material" button and use badi to change the document to reservation? Which Badi?
(2) Stay with Classic and control certain product category to have always resevervation document.

The 'order as direct material' is active by default only.
You don't need to activate ECS for this.
You can control the same by BBP_DP_PROD_CHK_BADI.
Only thing whenever you will create a SC for direct matl,
SRM will try to create the follow-on locally only & not in ECC.
So creating reservation via SC direct matl line item will not be easy.
May be you can try to control the follow field
BBP_PDIGP-SUBTYPE
in BBP_DOC_SAVE_BADI
& then use BADI BBP_CREATE_BE_RQ_NEW
2. this option would be easy if business allows you reservarion for certain matl grps

Movement type for reservation

Hi All,
We are using SRM 5.0 ECS.
Once the shopping cart is created for stock materials it creates reservation in R/3 system.Could you please let me know how it considers movement type once the account assignment is given as Order or Cost centrei.e. either it should take 261 or 201. Where is validation wriiten for this? Is it using any BADI or any configuration involved?

For reservation we dont have any MType evenin MM. Generally we do it in ME21 in ECC. I think you need to create enchancement for this.

BAdI for creating PR in ECS

We are using the ECS.But for some material groups we want to use classic scenario where the SC created a PR in the backend.
The BAdis activated are BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW and BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI

You can use the Business Add-In BBP_TARGET_OBJTYPE if you wish to implement a different logic for creating documents in the backend system.

->Purchase order
-> Reservation
Solution using Functional Settings
SPRO Configuration Path in SRM system.
Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server -> Cross-Application Basic Settings -> Define Objects in Backend System (Purch. Reqs, Reservations, Purchase Orders, etc.)

But I think maximum of 10-12 can be handled by that.

A/P Reserve Invoice closes Source PO - But A/P Credit Memo does not open it

Hi Forum,
1. Create a PO with say a single line item
2. Create a target A/P Reserve Invoice from above PO
Note: The PO of step 1 is closed.
I want the PO to again go to OPEN STATUS.
3.I perform A/P Credit Memo from base document (A/P Reserve Invoice) from step 2 above.
Question: The status of PO does not become open. Is there a setting that I am missing here which would make the status of PO go to open again?

go to Administration -> System Initialisation -> Document Settings -> Per document -> Purchase Order
Place a tick in the checkbox 'Reopen Doc. by creating returns/Goods Returns/Credit Notes Based in It' & update.

I am trying to create a reservation.
I have given a plant and storage location for a material by checking in table mard.
for some reason ,its says storage location not supported even though the mard
table has the same plant and storage location for that material.
it sometimes says only 1 quantity available.
what should i do in order to increase the quantity available.

Create Goods Receipt PO from AP Reserve Invoice (bug?)

Via the user interface of sap2005 pl7 you can create "Goods Receipt PO" from an "AP Reserve Invoice".
In the "base type" field of goods receipt the value "18" is displayed. This seems not to be a "valid value" and it is as a consequence not possible to read the contents of this field with the UI-API, because base type is a combo box and only valid values can be returned.
Is there a workaround to get a none valid value from a combobox?

Bloqueio de reservas de materiais de contas razão especificas na transação IW32

Gostaria de saber se é possível realizar o bloqueio de materiais de uma especifica conta razão, em reservas em ordens de serviço pela transação IW32.
Estou com problemas no controle de custo de materiais que são utilizados pelo setor de produção, e estão na conta razão da manutenção. Para isso eu gostaria de bloquear somente as reservas de materiais da conta razão da manutenção.
É possivel?

Os materiais nele inseridos serão reservados de acordo com o depósito configurado. Não seria melhor apontar um outro depósito?
