Reset changes in view link table when cancel popup

Hi,
I'm using jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
I have a form with a table which I edit with a popup.
inside this popup I have a view link table.
On cancel the popup I would like to clear the changes that were made in the view link table.
I was trying this code:

        ViewObject vo = it.getViewObject();
        vo.clearCache();

But it didn't work, when I open the popup again I see the changes that were made in the view link.
they weren't reset.
Any idea?

As I check, If I'm creating a new row
after
vo.clearCache();
vo.executeQuery();
the row is still existing.
How could it happen?

No, that would probably be the orientation lock. Check up by the battery icon and see if you have an icon with a small lock and a circular arrow. Either way, go to the Control Center, swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Look at the top row of icons and the orientation lock is the last one on the right. White is on, black is off. Just turn it off and you should be alright. Understand there are some apps that do not change into the landscape mode from portrait.

Access 97 - Changing Connection to Linked Tables

Currently going through a migration process for an Access 97 database.
I have managed to get everything working against my development database. I now want to port the database to a test environment for end user testing. However, my knowledge of Access is not very extensive, is there a way that I can change the link in the Access front end to point at the test environment. When I do this with the 'Linked Table Manager', using a different DSN file then I get Microsoft Jet db engine errors that the object cannot be found. This is due to the migration workbench converting the original tables names to proper Oracle formats and adding a '_R' suffix.
Hope someone is able to help.

It seems the link is readonly. I have gone through the ViewLink xml file and found all the _updateable are true. Am i missing anything?

How do I prevent Acrobat from changing paths to linked files when a PDF is saved locally?

I'm creating a PDF for internal company use. Each page will include a button to view a video; the videos themselves will be hosted on an internal network drive.
When I create the button in InDesign, I create an Open File action, browse to the video I want to link to, and it creates (what appears to be) an absolute path to the file. When I export to PDF, the path still appears to be absolute in the button properties, and if I open the PDF directly from its network location, the video button opens the video and works properly.
If the PDF is sent as an attachment or downloaded from the network and saved locally, however, the video links no longer work. The filepath in the button properties still appears to be absolute, but now points to a local folder ("C:\Users\...")
I need users to be able to download and save the PDF locally, but I don't want to embed a dozen videos, for obvious reasons. How can I ensure, then, that the filepaths to the videos are truly absolute and will consistently point to the network location no matter where/how the PDF is saved?

It is relative, but I don't want it to be. The problem is that I don't see any way in either Acrobat or InDesign to specify that it must be absolute.
It sounds like if I were to keep my working file on a local drive and export from there, it would automatically create an absolute link to the network path, but another designer is also working on the project and needs to be able to access the file. I could also copy the entire working folder to a local drive before exporting each time, or manually update the links in Acrobat from a local copy of the PDF after each export... but these both seem like ridiculous extra steps that shouldn't be necessary.
Is it really possible that neither program allows the user to control whether a link is relative or absolute? Should I post this in the InDesign forums, though the issue seems to be in Acrobat?

Why views are tables when published?

Hi,
I've seen that when I take a view inmy database and publish it in Oracle Lite, it appears at MSql in the "Tables" tab instead of in the "Views" tab. How's this?
Is the data both in the tables that are included in the view and again in the view?

I'm querying a view with a contains function and I'm getting an error:
query: select * from view where contains(name,'jack OR jill')>0
ORA-20000: Oracle text error
DRG-10599 column is not indexed.
From what I gathered you can't create an index on the view, or is that possible afterall (using 10g).
Would it be sufficent to create an index on the column in the table that the view-query is pulling the data from? or can you use the contains funtion on views at all?
Or are there other ways of doing this better?

That particular CONTAINS clause will require a domain index on the column, NAME in your case.
You could also do: select * from view where name in ('Jack', 'Jill')
Depending on your need and number of records and other variables, it may be "fastest" to do the text index on the NAME column. If it is a rather small subset of data and performance is not critical then the IN clause should suffice.

Error with view link and ADF table Tree

Hello
( Note: View objects are created based on static data but not from database tables)
I created two view objects "SuiteViewObject" and "FamilyViewObject" which are based on static data( stored in collection) but not on database entity. A veiw link "SuiteFamilyViewLink" is created from the above two view objects. An ADFTreeTable is created from the above view objects and view link. When run the jspx page containing ADFTreeTable, following error is occured in the browser.
JBO-30003: The application pool (staticviewobjects.staticappLocal) failed to checkout an application module due to the following exception:
oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.InvalidOperException, msg=JBO-26016: Cannot set user query to view "FamilyViewObj2" because it is a destination in a view link
Any help on the above error message.?

The above error is coming becuase view link's SQL query expects tables. But in my case I dont have tables, view objects are created from static data source(collection).
How to create a view link from view objects which are created based on static data source(collection)?

View Link Problems

I have a master child relationship...
Lets say table Employee and Table Quarters
EMployee is master and qaurters child, in the quarters table i need to create a column called quarter name which is a transient column which will be populated at runtime...
so i create the view link, but when the code runs for the selection of the child rows i get 0 rows returned... ie when i click on the master row a PPR event fires which should iterate through the child rows and add the qaurter names to the list....
Please could someone tell me how to iterate through a child when selecting from a master

Regarding change pointers in CDHDR table.

Can we write change pointers in CDHDR table when we change the status of the project (CJ20n).
When I change the status of the project then status of the network is also changed.
Now my requirement is , as soon as the status of the network is changed ,entry should be recorded in to CDHDR.
I am able to record the changes when description or other things of the nework are changed but facing problem for status change.
Can we achieve this if yes then how ?

Undo Changes in child table (using view link)

My environment : Jdev 11.1.2.2.0
I have a master-detail relationship which is linked using View Link. My requirement is to open a popup on double clicking the master row, and the user can add/delete/modify the child rows. Also I need to provide Ok/Cancel buttons. I need to Undo all the changes done for the child when the user clicks 'Cancel'. Can anyone please help to solve this?

First u need to a custom SelectionListener and make sure that RowSelection is set to single row. Add a method in the Managed Bean and make the row as current using the below java code

After writing this code.. All u need to do is Drop the Detail Table on the Dialog of ur popup. This way u will get all the rows of the table. So, filter this table with the foreign key using some code..

View link between view based on entity(table) and view based on stored proc

I've created a view based on a stored procedure. I need to link this view to a view based on an entity which is based on a table.
I can create the view without issue, but when I attempt to run the application module that contains the relationship I get this error:
(oracle.jbo.InvalidOperException) JBO-26016: Cannot set user query to view "SalesentityModuleApiView2" because it is a destination in a view link
One thing that may be notable about this is that this view started out based on a database view. I later overrode the select related methods using the example here:

I solved my problem with adding transient field, and changing the value of it (true | false) on set method of field that can be changed so I can get which row was updated. What exactly do you mean when you say not updateable, I'm using a vo with no entity, and I can add, remove rows, in fact I think it's a good solution because I don't want to write to database immediately.

View for a network node or link table

Can a view be used for a nework node or link table? The process sdo_net.validate_network hangs when I try to validate a network based on views for the node and link tables.

I am using a logical model. The sql statement (checking link/node relationship) that hangs is:

I gather there is a concurrency issue with my links view because it joins a table with itself. I have a link table that has the start and end nodes defined on two records. Here is my view script:

I can create tables from my views and validate them successfully through sdo_net.validate_nodes_schema, sdo_net.validate_links_schema, and sdo_net.validate_network.
I can analyze the network model through the Java API using the reachable nodes, shortest path, and spanning tree methods without any problems.
I guess I'll validate my view links by counting the total number of links and subtracting the number of links joined successfully at the start and end nodes - if 0 then all links are valid. E.g.:
select count(link_id) from
select link_id from vlinks
minus
select a.link_id from vlinks a, vnodes b, vnodes c
where a.start_node_id = b.node_id
